This RPG will be run in a similar way to the way I have run my RPG "2085" for thos eof you who have played you will understand what I mean.

However this 40K RPG will be more austere and closer linked to the darker side of the 40K universe, including the taint of chaos and its effects on players in the game.

A bit of fluff to get you all started,

On the Hive world of Abrantias there is no life that has not been given through the grace of the tyrannical rulers of the planet. Billions of newborn lives are quashed because instead of leading a life amoungst thier peers they are recruited into the creul lifes of the "Heresy Gangs" the trillions strong fleet of piratical warships that float around the planet.

Until recently the planet has escaped notice from the Imperium, too few of the distress cries from the planet have reached the ears of the Administratum, and the gears of beauracracy move with agitating slowness. However, the planet has not gone unnoticed by all the denizens of the galaxy... 3 decades ago a small number of powerful warriors of the Adeptus astartes landed on the planet, in a storm of cerulean lightning their teleporters disgorged them into the heart of a hive. There they killed thousands before dissapearing, since then chaos has begun to float through the planet, tainting its spires and walkways. The once tyrannical rulers have now become truly evil.

Limits to wargear are only the existing wargear from the latest codecies of each faction, if you do not have the latest codex of the faction you wish to be, simply do your best.

And please be reasonable

There are 4 existing factions for you to join, however you may bring anouther in if you PM me and convince me of this idea....

Anyhoo

The first two are fairly obvious

Guardsmen: The militia of the planet trying to make life as easy as possible for the downtrodden inhabitants of the city.

Chaos Marines: The small group who landed in the city were tained by chaos, in the time since they have embraced their future as spawn of the Chaos gods.

The next two are a result of renewed interest of the imperium and the splinters of a tyranid hive fleet...

Space wolfs: The Imperium refused to look into the matter of such a dangerous world that poses no current threat, however the Space wolves see this as their solemn duty to protect the citezens of the city and of course the need to destroy chaos in all its forms.

Tyranids: The tendrils of the splinter fleet draw closer to Abrantias, the lure of such a densly populated world is almost to much for it to bear....

good question, to me i dont mind if this one lays dormant for a time, i simply have been dming non 40K rpg's and would like to control one as ive played in many and am finding my way around them

however you are right, people will come and play it eventually when their rp's die, however i have no issues with people playing it on the side

im not averse to continuing it with only a couple of players either, i can layer more depth and detail into each persons plot if only a couple are regulars,

however i see the need to wait so unless more people jin soon i will let it rest.

Howdy. I've never done a play-by-post on Dakka before, and I figured I might as well try to jump in on this one that's just now starting up, if y'all will have me. Here's a character bio.

Name: Jerome Kyll (a.k.a. "Joker")
Faction: Imperial Guard
Wargear: M35 "M-Galaxy" Pattern Lasgun, Family Heirloom Laspistol (unknown make/model), standard Imperial Guard kit, full body flak armor, one Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer (well used).
Reason for being on Abrantias: As a member of the Abrantias PDF, Jermone Kyll has never set foot off his homeworld. Born into a military family, Jerome was destined from birth to grow, live, and die in the service of Abrantias and the God-Emperor of Mankind. Hailing from a devout family, he knows each and every hymn, litany, and incantation taught by the Ecclesiarchy to most Guardsmen. very nice, i take it the primer is a book?

Ill go easy on you to start with but things will get pretty heavy later,

ok were good to go, weve got the minimum three players and looky hoo one from each faction,

now warning, there will be interfaction clashes, especially with chaos, this may involve characters fighting characters, i wont let anyone be killed of to early but only good posting will save you later on....

OK primis posts for all chars

I will refer to the character in question in brackets then post from there, if i dont put it in brackets use common sense if that still doesnt work ive fouled up and will fix it, just point it out for me

(Reaper) The winds of Abrantias XII whistle between the tall hive spires and blast into your face from where you stand atop one of the lower spires close to the equator. Your helmet mag locked to your belt you feel the waves of chaos energy inside the natural winds calling to you, your unholy masters bathing in the pain you have wrought in the past, and yet calling for more. You look down the stairs at the rest of the Chaos Marines with you, they all have mutations to some degree, Harkus your heavy weapons trooper carrying a massive Autocannon grins in the light, his scaled face and forked tongue winking out at you. Yeartis your special weapon trooper holding an archaic PLasma gun is grinning too, the time of killing is nearly at hand, you think about your task, there is a clutch of working class civilians in the hive before you, their thoughts untroubled in the mid evening quiet.

They must all die.

(Wild and shealyr) Barentar's droppod smashes down into the ground, accuratly aimed by the cuiser high above the planet orbiting one of its neighbours. The 5 minute flight in the bowels of the shaking metal beast made easier by the Iron priest accompaning you and your squad of Grey Hunters, your beards flowing freely over your armour your eyes glinting in the moonlight.

As the doors smash open and thud to the ground you and your squad storm out and survey the area, a glinting maglight gets your atention and a squad of PDF guardsman hail you over, you and your squad make your way over to the entrance of the hive and you enter, following the squad up the hard metal stairs to the central room of the first hab area of the hive spire.

One of the guardsmen moves forwards towards you seeing the natural leader of the squad, he introduces himself as "Jerome Kyll, or Joker if you must" and then proceeds to explain the situation of the planet as the guardsmen see it.

The Chaos forces that have burrowed their way into the city have become almost invisible as they hide and seek out prey for sacrifices to the dark gods they serve, recently the squad has unearthed a squad of the marines that is hiding in one of the nearly abandoned habstructures underground, you are to aid the guardsmen and take the marines down.

ok guys may seem a bit vague atm, but thats because you have a major choice in the way the campaign unfolds, i will form the campaign around you as the rpg moves along not the other way around, i find that this makes for more immersive gameplay.

(Wild) "There are nearly a dozen, we think some of them are simply cultists but we cant be sure our auspex doesnt reach that far down int the mantle of the planet, a techmarine would be able to give us aid on this matter but im not sure" Your Iron priest walks forwards, "I am the equivalent of a techmarine my good man, my name is Ironfibre, let my auspex attempt to penetrate the crust of this planet."

After a few seconds he frowns, and sais, "there are 15 marines down there, and 5 cultists which seem to be undergoing some form of ritual, the marines look well equipped but i couldnt tell you how skilled they were"

The PDF nods and sais
"That i can fill in, these appear to be fairly new recriuts of the chaos marines on the planet, they are using the gene seeds of their fallen brethren to ressurect a great army beneath this planet, and so far those marines look to be the first recruits."

(reaper) the gunfire echos round the city and the massive pounding of the autocannon beside you and the plasma guns hissing roar fills the district as once more Imperials cower in their beds and the unfortunate civilians in the habstructure are butchered with high caliber shells.

All around you you can hear the tramp of bots as PDF guardsmen rush forwards to defend the hab sturactures from your lethal fire

the first cultist bites the dust as a bolter round severs his spine then exploding messily, Eliminated

the next falls to your gun as you stich his body with round that sever him in half when they explode, Eliminated

Guardsmen shred anouther cultst with thier lasguns the heretics chest a mess of blood and ripped muscles and bones. Eliminated

The Shuttle steamed through the atmosphere sliding through the early night to the ground, the hiss of venting seals reaches the gloom as the disembarkation ramp slides to the earthy ground. A heavily booted foot emerges from the hold of the ship, followed by anouther, then the rest of the commissar's deathshrouded form

His peaked hat cradled in the crook of his arm then settled onto his head as the first of the PDF regement welcoming party move forwars to beckon him into one of the hive spires.

The rebreather of the commissar makes a mockery of the choking atmosphere following the dust cloud of the Shuttles descent, as it takes of again the door closes behind the commissar. He is taken quickly to a room and told that the squads he was supposed to meet have already left for the engagement. You are urged to follow them, you thought you noticed a droppod in the gloom.

As you move quickly through the streets you come upon a group of astartes next to a door, then the thunderous call ripples out and the fighting begins "BREACH!!!"

"Hold your ground men!" Serik ordered as he took cover behind nearby supplies.

Aiming his pistol, he fires at one of the enemy soldiers, unfortunately the pistol overheats and deadly plasma fumes blow back at the commissar. Luckily his Refractor field saved him from any serious injuries.

Discarding his now defunct Plasma Pistol, Serik draws his powersword and follows the Astartes into the building. Serik arrives behind a squad of guardsmen who were beginning to run back, but hold their ground due to the arrival of the Commissar.

mhm you do, i mentioned it in your intro

inside the room you see the other guardsmen taking strength from the hulking astartes in their midst, raining fire on the foes the Marines of chaos soon turn tail and flee deeper into the building, a single cultist trailing behind before a bolt takes his head of, full told the cultists are dead and 3 of the marines, 3 guardsman died

Barentar lunged at one of the marines digging both of his claws into his torso then using him as a meatsheild. Barentar pulled out his bolter and using then half-dead marine as a stand he put bolter rounds into the other marines(Imagine the bolters foward grip on the marines shoulder)"DIE BLOODY HERETICS"he yelled

Barentar rips his left claw out of the dying marine, then chokes the life out of him. After putting away his bolter Barentar walks over to a living cultist clutching his chest. Brutaly he picks him up by the head and began to interogate him. After 25 or so seconds he dejected his claws and began to gut the cultist. Live."They have a sqaud of thirsty demons deeper down, thus the ritual"he says over the cultists screams"Also anathor 20 or so cultists, and 10 more marines". "SHUT THE HELL UP!" he says crushing the cultists head

the growls in the lower sections of the base get louder and you can see the furred back of a warhound of khorne moving up the steps

Watching the Space Wolf massacre the warhound, Serik is reminded of the extreme brutality of the Krieg guardsmen he served.

Looking over at the guardsmen he was with, Serik shook his head. It would take a lot of work to turn these men into true soldiers of the Emperor.

The guardsmen lined up, nine of them remaining.

"Affix your bayonets, let none of them pass!" ordered Serik as he drew his power sword.

Serik took out his copy of the "Infantryman's Uplifiting Primer" and began reciting the litany of hate.

The imperials drop to the ground in one rank anouther one one knee behind them, the rest standing behind. The commissar yelling instructions and phlem laced curses and rants about the strength of the imperium and the morale of the strong and the weakness of the.... well.... the weak

The dogs slowly walk up the stairs heedless of the guardsmen concentrating only on the space wolfs, hundreds of lasfire rounds pepper the wolfs scarring them from head to foot, but they dont fall

"Forward as one men! Charge! For the Emperor!" cried Serik as he and his men charged into combat.

The hounds were quick, slashing at him as Serik tried to parry their attacks before managing to slash down on one, cutting into two.

Seeing one of his guardsmen break, he fires his laspistol at the coward. The rest of the men fall back into line as they see their comrade die at the hands of the commissar.

many of the guardsmen die in that first wave however with the astartes present the hounds are soon wiped out.
you look behind you to hear the opening of the door and the rush of reinforcements

(ok heres the situation, all player char's except for reaper are in the building with the cultists, there are 25 guardsmen there and 10 astartes including one player character astartes and two player character guard, one commissar one captain)

Fighting with the other guardsmen and Astartes, Serik attacks the wolves viciously with his power sword.

However, one of the wolves manage to bite down on Serik's left arm, breaking through the refractor field. The commissar hacks the wolves head off. Trying to stay on his feet to keep discipline with the remaining guardsmen, Serik gives out a cry of pain as he tries to lift his laspistol with his wounded arm.

However stilll able to use his right arm and his power sword, the Commissar stubbornly continues to fight in combat.

Accepting that his left arm would be lost forever, Serik accepts cybernetic enhancements. Gazing at the remaining guardsmen, Serik decides to decorate Sergeant Kyll for his outstanding bravery and leadership during the conflict.

Taking the Honourificum Imperialis from his Jacket, he hands it over to the sergeant, while commending him in his bravery, despite massive casualties.

The seargeant accepts the honour stoically and thanks the commissar, the iron priest shepards the guardsmen and astartes out of the room, taking the Commissar by the shoulder he pushes him slowly out of the corrupted hive and to saftey where he begins the surgury that would see Serik equipped with a powerfist with a built in hellfire bolter.

hours later Serik emerges the new cybernetic implants glowing on his fist with subdued light from the heat of thier melding, it had been painful but the Commissar had always known the Emperor was with him.


The men and astartes all group together planning their next move.

(Here i let you decide where you want to take the rp, where your characters decide to go.. and what they decide to do, is the first of many choices and descisions you will make.)

The Cybernetic arm whirred to life as Serik walked from the Surgery table. The work was flawless, the techpriests of Mars couldn't have done better.

Moving towards the Astartes that had gathered, Serik began to discuss the enemy. He had seen many of these traitor Astartes back on Vraks, they were unmistakably Alpha Legion.

"Those were Alpha Legion marines. I have fought them before, the warp spawn they summoned are just the first of many, I believe the best action would be to petition aid form the Ordo Malleus with one of his Emperor's inquisitors. This is my humble suggestion." Serik spoke directing to the Space Wolf leader.

Looking at the roster of the platoon, Serik muttered to himself. "This regiment is in shambles, at less than a quarter strength." Musing to himself, Serik knew that this must have been the reason why Chaos has chosen this planet, the defense force had been cut so the rulers of this blasted rock could enjoy more luxuries.

"Prepare this location for defense, dig in and take whatever supplies you need to secure this location, I am personally requisitioning this area for the Emperor and his Imperium."

Serik gestured at the squad outside of the Bunker, "You there, follow me, we're going on a recruitment drive!".

"Vox caster, signal to the nearest astropath. I am requesting Storm Troopers and Departmento Munitorium supplies from the nearest Forge World"

Serik went with the men in several Chimeras, they would head to the nearest Hive to recruit more men to fight the Alpha Legion.

(Sorry I've been absent! I didn't realize you'd be starting so soon, and moving so fast. If you find me noticeably away in the futuer, shoot me a PM, which will show up on my phone and remind me to post. Anywho, here goes.)

Joker was still in a haze from the intense fighting earlier. Dozens of his friends has been killed; torn apart by rabid warp-spawn that still clawed at the edges of his sanity. He had been surviving on autopillot, stoically following Commissar Serik as he attempted to rally more forces. Finally snapping out of his daze at the requisition Imperial bunker, he volunteered to stay behind and shore up the defenses while Serik attempted to gather additional forces from the neighboring Hive.

Jerome Kyll wasn't born great. He was born a low-class boy from a soldier family, but the Emperor had called him to greatness, and dammit, he'd not fail under the watchful eye of the God-Emperor of Man. He would hold that bunker if it cost him his life...

With his faith and sanity renewed, he set about the preparations.

(Shealyr) (no problem at all mate, and yeah sure in the future i will ) You quickly get the bunker into fighting order and groups of serf servitors come through to lay more layers of ferrocrete on the walls.

The commissars vehicle moves past great layers of intense ranting of the strength of the imperium and the need for recriuts flows over you and your spirits are lifted, it wont take long now.

(Wild) Your brothers roar in approval and even the iron priest seems intreged, the group of you head to the nearest recruitment station where word of the astartes quickly spreads and militia of all shapes and sizes begin to flood in.

Serik looked at the roster of recruits, the numbers were encouraging. Irking at a smile, his retinue could not see his expression behind his respirator.

Travelling in his command chimera, he rode back to rendezvous with the waiting Astartes and guardsmen.

Talking to his vox operator, Serik checks in with the current supply situation. "Has the departmento munitorium and schola progenium responded?"

Serik awaited the response anxiously.

Joker heard the recruitment reports over the vox. They were encouraging, and he looked forward to his chance to get back into the fight. There was a problem, however, that he felt he should report to Commissar Serik about. Reaching a member of his retinue on the vox, he left a message for the Commissar.

"Sir, defensive preparations at my position are complete. We have experienced a worrying number of desertions, although no moral threat his suspected at this time. Regardless, an offensive assignment would certainly improve morale. We await your orders eagarly. Joker out."

Serik heard the reports of the desertions. It was worrying, Serik knew that the Schola Progenium would not send another Commissar to help in his duties, this was Serik's responsibility and his alone.

Radioing back on the Vox, Serik gave his orders "Sergeant Kyll, gather your men, I'm promoting you to the company Senior Officer. Take what equipment you require from the requisition stores and lead the men to victory. Base commander Nantis will debrief you on the situation. The Emperor protects. Out."

hey wondering if i could join. considering i rp's dead in the water.
if i can heres the character sheet.

Name: Santonius Varl Vantrava.
Faction: Imperial guard splinter.
Wargear: Master crafted auto sniper (vindicator rifle), bolt pistol, and power sword. He wears his commissar apperal. He has a bionic arm.
Reason for being there: After the his tyrinid action he was sent with the remenants of his force to respond to the distress signals. His regiment almost at the breaking point and only at 25% (500 soldiers). Are on the verge of going rogue. They are there because the transport they had crashed into the planet. After about a week they finally made contact with a hive.

"Tyranids? Here?" Serik had heard the name before, the menace of the eastern front. It appeared that entire regiments sent to deal with these aliens were being destroyed faster then they were being deployed. If the news was true, then the entire planet would be in grave danger.

He had personally never fought against the beasts before, being situated on Segmentum Obscura. Fighting in the Scarus sector for so long, his specialty was fighting against the forces of Chaos.

Knowing that he need the expertise of the Ordo Xenos, he would attempt to contact an inquisitor who specialized in Tyranid incursions, but that would have to wait. There were more pressing issues to deal with.

Serik opened the hatch to his Chimera and turned to the guardsmen approaching, the recruits were still in the forward Chimeras, they would have to be evacuated.

"Driver, I am staying to fight. Take these recruits back to the Imperial encampment." Serik climbed out of the gunnery hatch and onto the ground.

Drawing from knowledge from the tactica imperialis from his days as a storm trooper, standard protocol against fighting Tyranids was to take defensive positions in barricades, and most importantly, "Shoot the big ones". He relayed this information back to the guard forces.

"Take up positions in the positions, and stick together. No man is to go it alone, Tyranid infiltrators are most likely already on the planet!"

Drawing out his Plasma Pistol, Serik and the men had set the trap. It was a waiting game now.

The trap is layed swiftly, hundreds of layered barricades are set up throughout the city, the sewers are purged, genestealers dieing in their hundreds, the massive city is evacuated under ground, guardsmen layer every building and every barricade, explosive rigs are set up all though the ground.

A storm of cerulean lightning preludes a teleport in the midst of this next to the commissar and the other loyalists, when the storm ends a single terminator clad warrior stands there, his vox growling audibly, the colours of the Black templars on his aincient armour, "There is an entire battle group past one of the nearby moons willing to give aid to this planet should the need arise, we are aware of the tyranid threat but that is only a secondary concern, the chaos in this place are strong and must be destroyed. We will aid in the defeat of the Xenos, but then we will need your aid in decimating the chaos on the planet. My name is Brother Grimoire, sword brethren terminator of the Black templars"

as this happens the droppods of the remaining space wolf forces slam into the ground, the astartes have not forsaken this planet after all

Harkus steps furthur up onto the parapet, his autocannon growing in his grip as shell after shell pound into the foe, guardsmen are splattered as the massive bullets smash through them, the plasma gun beside you is also blaring, incinerating swathes of troopers.

The bolters of the rest of your squad never rest as the last of the guardsmen either die ofr flee, lasgun rounds pattering of your armour.

(Wild) As you move deeper and deeper into the city you begin to see the effects of chaos, mutated hives and desecrated graves become all to common, then your ealise your being followed, you turn and all around you are the shambling cultists that you have been hunting, behind them tall imposin daemons waiedling great whips and scythes, your pack ends up back to back as a ring of cultists slowly encloses you

you realise what has happened, by straying from the beaten track and your allies you have been surrounded in a potentially lethal trap by those you were hunting.

The men were weary from the attack, there had been casualties and it appeared that most of the explosives, ammunition and rations had been used by the guardsmen during their long mission without supplies.

It was time to retreat to lick their wounds, the new influx of trained battle hardened guardsmen was a great boon to the Imperial forces.

The Astartes who had landed would secure the area and finish cleansing the area of xenos, for now Serik would lead his men back to the base.

Serik was still awaiting word from the Schola Progenium and Departmento Munitorium, supplies were running short and with the imminent tyranid invasion, they were running out of time.

Things were grim back at the Imperial bunker which Joker had been charged with defending. His field promotion brought new responsibilities that srained him to the brink of collapse. Yet they held. Against all odds, facing cultists and daemons of Chaos, they held. The news of the arrival of a Black Templar fleet lifted the men's spirits, and brought a hope that they may yet survive the coming storm. Joker new, though, that in order for the help of the Templars to mean anything, they would have to continue to survive.

The irony of that thought was lost on him as another wave of cultists began a death charge on their foritifications.

"For the Emperor, men, STAND AND ADDRESS!"

*Vantrava marched through the gate of the hive. He hated these monstrosities. He spat and looked back at his regiment. They all were in full battle gear. It was all fresh issued and they were clean. They looked like they had just got woke up though. They all cursed when they heard about the reassignment. He cared little anymore. He had been through enough as it was. A guardsmen walked up to him and his XO called the regiment to a stop. The guardsmen started to speak, "Are you the Armoggedon 501st?" "Yes we are son. Now tell me where are we to go," Vantrava answered. "Follow this road up to the main lines. I`ll be checking your vehicles though. Cant have any cultists hiding there," the guard said. Vantrava walked off and his XO got the regiment moving again. He saw the lines up ahead. Trenches. Vantrava cursed his luck.*

Arriving back at base, Serik saw the Cultist forces massing. Heretic forces were being cut down by the ranked lasfire from the guardsmen in the bunker. However, now the heretics were sandwiched between two Imperial forces.

With the remaining guardsmen, Serik ordered them to form two ranks. "First rank, Fire! Second rank, Fire!" yelled Serik. The heretics were cut down by the crossfire.

The heritics are quickly decimated but its not over yet, from the sky above you come the srieks and howls of tens of thousands of harpies and gargoyles, planetary defense guns have already opened up firing into their massive ranks, in those first few seconds thousands fall from the sky, your men duck into cover to try to avoid the lethal rain of bodies.

Vantrava curses his luck again and looks at his tactical timer. Ten minutes until the tyrinids start to land. Vantrava makes the decision to abandon his section. Screw the consequences. He then keyed his vox, "Men of the 501st follow me!" His men dont understand but follow anyways. He sees the gate. Luckily its still open. He starts to run towards the gate. His men are right behind him. His XO contacts him, "Sir why are we abandoning post?" " Because the tyrinid are going to bring down the hive," Vantrava says. His XO nods and continues to run. Vantrava notices that his whole regiment is behind him running with him. He was happy that they trusted him. They were two minutes from the gate. They had seven until the tyrinid landed.

The Tyranids were being destroyed overhead. Serik watched overhead as the lesser Tyranids were being shredded by the planetary defence cannons. The purple ichor rained down on them.

It took a moment for him to realize, the death of the lesser xenos was deliberate, their acidic blood rained down on them.

"Get to the bunkers, move!" Serik shouted, his own equipment was specially treated to survive hazardous materials from his days serving with the Krieg regiments where he had to operate in acidic smog, but the guardsmen on Abrantias had no such preparation. Seeing one guardsman fall down from his injuries, Serik picked him up and ran to the nearest bunker.

It looked like all the guardsmen had managed to get into the cover of the buildings in the base.

Serik had no idea of what happened to the men he met in the Hive or what of their commander. Luckily for Serik's men, the larger Tyranid monstrosities were not landing near his sector, but where he had met Vantrava.

The supplies from the munitorium had already arrived and were safely underground. Serik looked around and gave a grunt of satisfaction, and took a refractor field for himself. It was less ornate than his previous one, but it still functioned exactly the same.

Vantrava snorts. The same crap. The space marines here to save the fething day. Vantrava laughed at his comment. He hadnt used the tanith oath in a long time it brought back memory's. Vantrava made to move around the terminator but it moved in front of him. Vantrava laughed. The terminator was takin aback. Vantrava then sliced the terminator's head off. His regiment all mutual haters of the templar said nothing. Vantrava knew that he'd now labled himself an enemy of the imperium, and he didnt care. He bent over and picked up the templars force staff and storm bolter. He handed his sword and bolter to his XO. He then looked at his timer. 4 minutes. Vantrava ushered his men forward with his new force staff (which had an axe head on it). His bionic are carried it like it was a regular weapon. The storm bolter though was rather heavy so he attached a strap to it. He and his now renegade band left the hive to find a defendable area.

(Yes i had thought it would add a different angle on the story) Vantrava saw the carnifex before his men did. He oponed up on it with his bolter. It realed back. Then a good fifty las rounds reduced it to a wet soup. The other carnifex's were shredded up by two feather-treders. Ones head exploding violently and the other lost a huge chunk of his torso. Vantrava knew that the tyrinid had landed now. "Come on ladies hussle," he shouted to hurry his men. It took ten minutes for them to fortify their bunker, but it was worth it. His regiment had upwards of 40 heavy cannons and bolters from their last tyrinid incursion. They had set up ten alone at the front of the bunker and the other thirty were spread out throughout the bunker complex. Vantrava was proud of his mens quick set up. He'd buy them all a drink when it was over.

(excellent *taps fingers together*) Then you think grimly to your self, thats if theres any of us left, you look up into the sky as a shadow casts a pall over you, literally biullions of smaller mycetic spores are smashing through the upper atmosphere, you quake as you realise each of the first portion is merly a sacrificial organism designed to pummel you into the dirt, the ones above it will carry the weaker broodlings and their masters.

Vantrava looks back at the fortificated bunker. He smiles and thinks let them come and be destroyed. He cared not. He suddenly was filled with anger. He flinches and it subsides. Vantrava dismisses it as just a side-effect or betraying the imperium. Vantrava calls his XO over. "Son how much ammo do we have for sustained fire," Vantrava asks? "Enough for a week plus the store of ammo locked under the bunker but that'll take time to open," Buleck answers. "Thank you colonel. Now get down there and open that hatch i want whats under there," Vantrava orders. Buleck salutes and runs off to do his task. Vantrava then walks over to the vehicle line waiting to enter the bunkers main hatch. He walks into his command vehicle and looks at the current battle map. He realizes that the terminator must not have been noticed for him to still be attached to the battle network. Either way Vantrava cared not he had a bunker to defend.

"What? Tyranids here! Even the Galaxy wishes to steal my prise!"
The Chaos Marines begin to take cover in a small weapon factory already devoid of Imperial life and ready a defence against the swarm , a mycetic spore crashes through the roof and realeses a group of Tyranid Hormagaunts and Termagants. The Chaos Marines open fire instantly cuting down several of the beasts within seconds of their arrivle but soon the Tyranids advance with a beastly hunger.

Vantrava doesnt flinch as he realizes its the Alpha Legion. He points his storm bolter at them though just for a precaution. "And what if i didnt," Vantrava says boldly. "You`d be cut down where you stand. This time theres 6 of us and we`re not the pathetic templars either," the chaos marine spat. "Alright i did it. I rather hate the imperium, but i rather despise chaos, but i could learn to warm up to it," Vantrava says back. "I will not hesitate to kill you worm," the marine yells. "And i`m not to be messed with either," Vantrava spat back. "Well then i think we`ve come to an agreement. You will come with me i will leave my men to help defend your bunker," the marine ordered. vantrava nods and the other chaos marines move over to the front of the bunker. The guardsman were startled and almost shot the marines but Vantrava voxed to let the marines live. The marine who was the leader attched a device to Vantrava`s wrist. Then they both disappeared in a blue light.

The Tyranids had begun infesting the Hive. Weighing his options, Serik decided that the only way to save the Hive now was to raze the infested areas.

Moving to the Hellhounds that were idling in the garages, Serik inspected the condition of the tanks. Low on both Promethium and fuel, this wouldn't do. The tanks had not been well maintained. It appeared that the engineers in charge of maintenance had died or fled, they would be punished later.

Serik fortunately had enough experience with the Banewolf variant of the Hellhound, the favoured vehicle of the Krieg. Ordering the men to load up the fuel tanks with the lethal chemical PT103, it was deadly enough to instantly melt flesh and armour with equal ease. The turrets were modified to accommodate it's new role.

Commandeering a Leman Russ Eradicator, Serik hopped into the turret. He would lead the tanks and clear the infestation personally.

Vantrava and the marine then materialised in a round chamber. Vantrava spat a wod of blood from his mouth. Teleportation, he hated teleporting. The marine growled and signaled to follow. The chamber was bear except a ritual circle in the center. Vantravafollowed the marine as he lead him through a labrinth. It took about ten minutes to reach a huge chamber. The room was covered head to toe in stretched skin. Vantrava wasnt surprized. He expected such savagry from barbarians such as these. The marine made a motion at a throne that was up a raised platform. He then walked out of the room. Vantrava saw who was sitting there. It was Akros the Faithless. Vantrava knelt when he got to the top. He knew how savage the Alpha legion captain could be. He had read about Alpha legions history. He, despite them being chaos, liked their tactics. Akros rose and started to talk.

Alpha Warriors lead the small swarm as Kain and his brothers gun down Tyranids with ease and slice them apart in close combat , Kain jumps towards the lead Tyranid Warrior and decapitates it with a blow from his Power axe. Green blood pours from it's neck before it's body disipers under the Tyranid Gaunts. He rasies his bolter and cuts a swathe of fire power through the adavancing Tyranids.

"Well then i pity you but today you dont want a fight. It'll cause more harm than good. And i will leave now or you wont have my help and the imperium breathing down your neck," Vantrava spat at the lord. The lord motion to one of the maeines nearby and the marine motioned for Vantrava to follow. "Vantrava watch yourself now. I'm entrusting you with those marines. And i would like to have them back in one peice," the lord said as he sat down. Vantrava laughed and was led by the marine to the teleporter room. A flash of blue and Vantrava appeared once again in front of the bunker. But this time the vehicle's had moved inside. Vantrava looked around and saw the fortifications his men had set up. Upwards of 8 sabre platforms all with heavy bolter attachments, and 4 hydra battery's. Vantrava was almost impressed. "Colonel i want 8 more sabre platforms with autocannons and 4 more hydra battery's. You know how effective those are," Vantrava said over the vox.

The termagaunts around the beasts swarm over them protecting them from fire whilst more scurry into your positions, a Termagaunt rushes twoards you firing clusters of darts at your face, you duck and hear them scater of your armour and then you bring your bolter up intp the beasts maw, a quick burst splatters the thing across the room. but several more approach

Vantrava curses. He knew the imperials would attack him eventually, but not this quick. But he had a plan. "Buleck tell the auxileries to hide in the buildings surrounding the two entrance streets. Tell them to cloak and wait for my signal," Vantrava ordered. "Sir, yes, Sir'" Buleck answers and the vox link goes dead. Vantrava walks up to the bunker and watches as his men set up the sabre platforms. He`d seen them in action a few times and thought they would be good against the tyrinid. Well now they`d have to be effective against guardsmen. And the space marines would be the main problem. He signaled the marines of his to come to him. The alpha legion marines appeared out of no-where. Vantrava liked that. He`d use them to surprize the black templar, but 5 wouldnt be enough. Vantrava keyed his long range vox, "Melius I`d like a reinforcement of marines. A good size group of Templars and guardsmen are moving towards me, and i think your men would love slaughtering the Templar."

(Y500) In front of you a holographic image appears of the black shrouded figue, once again you wonder what his form is beneath the robes, you find yourself wishing that he would let you see, just one look.... you shake your head, you realise that whatever device he is using it is tainted with chaos, he looks around, and to himself slowly mutters, then he looks directly at you, or at least you think he does, its hard to tell with the shroud. "I can do far better than merly reinforcesments" his creul laugh echos around the square as his comm cuts of, he still diddnt tell you exactly what he meant

Suddenly spiraling mist appeared. It rose towards the sky and soon covered the whole plaza. Then 50 marines walked out of it with blaphumous things. A guardsmen nearby fell to his knee`s blood seeping from every pore. The things looked like creatures of hell. But Vantrava recognized they were Bloodletters. The Bloodletters were all chained together with a neck claspe. They looked like they would release when the battle began. Vantrava realized that it was there to keep them from slaughtering allies. Vantrava didnt care though. They were allies and he wouldnt reject them. Then a huge monster of a man walked out. It was a daemon prince. It bellowed and the guardsmen who was bleeding profusly now exploded in a shower of gore. The Bloodletters started to howl too. Vantrava`s men had moved into the bunker to get away from the horrors. Melius the daemon prince of Khorne walked over. He held a huge sword as tall as Vantrava in one hand, and the other hand was a vicous clawed hand. Melius cackled now, but it still boomed like he had a megaphone to his mouth.

(Y500)(not quite what i had in mind but good nonetheless) The booming voice addresses you sternly with a hint of mocking laughter "You see puny wretch, the fight would not have gone well for you, I am far stronger than even this form suggests my stunted little worm..." his monolouge pauses for a second as he surveys his troops, then his throbbing bass voice reaches your ears again but you are strangely unnafected, "They will fight against the sons of the false god, but remeber they fight for me wretch, not you."

Vantrava, not budging a inch in this confrantation, starts to talk, "And it be good for you to remember that i have the power to bring the imperium down on you. So i think we`re even on terms of ground. But i do give you you`d probably win in a strength test so i give you that." Melius laughs some more and pounds down the plaza to what seems to be his SIC. Vantrava moves back to the bunker and keys the entry pad. A door slides open and he steps into the interior of the bunker pill box. He moves over to a sabre gunner and pats him on the shoulder. The gunner looks at him with terror in his eyes but he knew his duty and wouldnt shirk from it. Vantrava moved deeper into the bunker to go and look at this store that was underneath the bunker facility. It took a 2 minute elvator ride to get there. He stepped off the elevator and was greeted by a tech-preist. It lead him to the breach they had cut in the door. Vantrava walked through the door and found walls stacked high with ammunition, guns, shells, armor, and a single door was ont the other side. It was swung open. He loved how his tech-preists worked without him having to say something. He walked over tto the door which was about a 1/4 of a mile away and peered through into a much smaller room. A single light shone down on a display case looking thing. Vantrava walked over to it and looked inside. It was a very ornate power armor. It looked like something from a time thousands of years ago. It had long boots that were like the boots Vantrava wore. Except they were skin tight all the way up the leg. It had a knee pad attachment that had thigh protection too. The chest plate was rut out a little right below the neck line and was ribbed diagonelly under the bump. It had a a belt and hip peice comforming to the bottom of the chest plate. It had no shoulder pads but it had bracers for the bicep protection, and guantlets that covered his top forearm and hands up to the elbow. The helmet was a almost V shaped helmet with a long triangle slit for the eyes. The neck guard was a high and flared but gave enough room to move. It all was held on by strap like things and it was on a body suit. Vantrava looked for some controls and found a single button. He striked with awe from the ancient suit pressed it. The glass on top melted aways and the suit was lifted up and out of the case. It then segemented the peices of the armor and held them out for whoever was to wear it. Vantrava called the tech-priest over. It stared in awe too but kept moving. "Yes, you needed me," it said in it monotone voice. Vantrava nodded and spoke, "I require you to help me put this on." The priest nodded and they proceded to put the armor on. Once it was on he activated the power souce, since it was too heavy other wise. It flared to life and a huge display played out before him. The suit then conformed to fit Vantrava. It fit perfect except his bionic arm. He had the priest remove that section and he was happy. He then realized that it wasnt power armor but more just a shielded version of carpace armor. Either way it was better than the standard flak armor of the guard. He suddenly felt a surge of power and Melius appeared before him. He laughed and spoke.

"Do you really think that this plate is meant for you insignificant wretch? hahahaha no it was meant for a great hero of this planet, oh and one more thing, no you cannot bring the full might of the imperium ontop of me, for if i recall correctly you killed a marine....."

Heedless you move forwards and take the plate, first slinging on a black shirt which moulds to your skin, you then put the armour on, when it is done you look imposing and powerful, to your right you notice a long ornate power sword in a sheath with its twin beside it.

Kain crushes the skull of a Tyranid and throws a grenade into the Spores landing point and continues to fire apon the Tyranids while fighting them off in close combat with his Power Axe , he then grabs a gaunt and lobs it at a Tyranid Prime.

Vantrava like the feel of the armor. He reached for the swords, but Melius slams his sword down in front of Vantrava's out reached arm. "You realize worm that the second you unsheath those swords you will have to fight me," Melius booms. Vantrava shrugs and grabs the swords anyway. He hooks them on to his belt where they belong. He then throws the force axe away and draws both swords. The right sword glows with a blue light and is jet black. While the other one radiates red light and is pure white. Melius steps back. Vantrava starts laughing. Melius despite being so imposing flinches at the sound. Vantrava then takes a step froward and Melius disappears in a flash of red light and smoke. Vantrava just remembering about the priest looks over to see that it had crumpled and fallin onto the floor. Vantrava not caring walks out of the small room. He closes the door behind him and locks it.

(a daemon prince wouldnt back of from two shiny swords, theyre fearless for a start), (and yeah i thought it was one of those two) You sheath the swords and move back into the main area, only to find the marines slaughtering the guardsmen, 20 are alreadydead but the heavy guns turn on them killing several chaos before pertering out, th gunners themselfs dead, you look around at the carnage, your forces being obliterated before you, and abouve one of the parapets is the unhloly form of the daemon prince Melius, your XO skewered on his claws.

Bolter shells ripple through the bunker as black templars storm the breach, clearly taking advantage of the infighting, storms of lasgun round filling the gaps,

tyranid drop pods also rain down around you obscuring the sky. The ground is literally crawling with combatants, you realise that by taking the swords you have doome your entire company, one of your former comrades runs towards you screaming for help, you unsheath one of the swords and skewer him through with it, the powered edges ripping through the poor mans body. He whispers in your ear as he dies, "Traitor"

Vantrava watched as his command squad, minus his XO, ran over to him. "Sir we must get out of here," his adjacent yells. "I know Brin follow me and gather as many men as you can. I have a plan. Vantrava and his command squad run through the fighting unscathed but for the few who are quicly cut down by either Vantrava or his command squads heavy bolter. By the time they make it to a secondary exit, they have about 50 men. He has all of them move through the exit and escape through alley above. Vantrava takes one last look at the carnage and runs through the exit. Vantrava meets up with his forces and ushers them through the hive. The tyrinid were dying in hordes from enemy guardsmen throughout the hive but Vantrava and his men, using they`re stealth abilities, are able to make it to a small chapel. Vantrava knew the emporer had no faith in him but it was still a defendable place. Vantrava and his men set up a base. It was poorly constructed but it would have to do. Vantrava`s men were exausted and scared, but they were working around that. It took about a hour to set up the chapel base, and despite the invasion, the chapel didnt come under attack until the night.

(Y500) as darkness falls on the hive world the templars and guardsmen have fallen back to their bunkers, whilst the more powerful tyranid force continues to swell, in the darkness the whispers of chaos can be heard, tantalising invitations that see many of your men commit suicide in dark corners, you did indeed enter a chapel, but you failed to notice the chaos corruption and it slowly drives you mad, to think you can beat it, you will yourself ignore the voices.

In the corner one of your men begins to cough, a harsh retching sound that cuts through the whispers, small particles of blood fleck the mans boots as he coughs bent over.

Vantrava runs over to the man and takes a look at him. He`s dead. He then realizes that the man was mutated also. He curses. Something around here has been tainted by chaos he thought. He had 45 men left. He needed to find a better spot. He got up and called the men to attention. A las pistol goes off and another soldier kills himself. "We must move from this foul place follow me. He and his men grab the equipment and run out into the night. They run blindly for a while until they come across an abandon bastion. Vantrava aproaches it and calls up a squad to help him take the bastion incase anything was in there. He kicks in the half destroyed door and rushes in. A tyrinid warrior turns and gurtels a challenge. Vantrava accepts and slices the beast into three peices. Vantrava`s men are astonished by Vantrava`s speed. Another bursts from the stairs and the guardsmen rip it to shreds before it could scramble down them. Vantrava called up his only flamer and told him to purge the bastion. It takes about 45 minutes to get through the bastion and kill all the tyrinid. He finally moves his men into the bastion. One of them has a slightly mutated head and Vantrava skewers him. He let the body fall and he had his flamer burn it. He moves back up to the command door which is sealed tight.

The coughing starts a gain, many of your men close to fifteen keel over, you look back about to ceck their vital signs when you notice something strange, the dead men from the chapel are following you, you look at the icon abouve it and you shudder with fear, Nurgle. The destroyer plague has come to Abrantias, you know only one way to release a planet from the grips of this plague, to kill the herald of nurgle perpetuating it... and there is only one known herald who could bring such a plague....



Typhus.


You are brought back to the present by the groaning of the zombies created by the plague, many of your men put their gasmasks on you feel safe inside your armour but you arnt sure how long that will last, from doors and windows of the hives around you you notice more zombies coming. Ordainary citezens now turned to the walking dead.

Your previous battles seem pointless as you watch the horde apporaching.

Brin curses and then exhales. The command hatch opens and Vantrava steps in. He and his 30 remaining men enter and shut the door to keep out the hordes. Vantrava walks over to a command console and starts to reboot the system. It sputters to life and Vantrava smiles. He then updates the current orders and maps. The imperial forces were in a route to their fortress a few kilometers away. Vantrava then summons up the schematics for the bastion he's in. He sifts through it. Meanwhile his troops set their two heavy stubbers to guard the door. The flamer troops were also preping to incinerate the dead zombie's so the desease doesnt spread. Vantrava finds what he was looking for. The trench connection. It was directly linked to the room. Vantrava knew that was the only way out. Suddenly a thudding noise comes from outside the door. One of Vantrava's men lifts up his hood and pukes on the floor.

It took days to cleanse the hive, poison gas seeped through every Tyranid infested sector. Every day, Serik and his Banewolves poisoned the infected areas with corrosive gas, although each time an area was cleansed of xenos, another entire sector would become infested by more Tyranids.

The Leman Russ Eradicator rumbled across the road leading the Banewolf column. A blast of acid erupted from a distance, melting the engine of the tank but doing little damage. Serik climbed out of the tank to inspect the damage, but was shocked by what he saw, on the outskirt of the hive was the massive lumbering form of a Tyranid Bio-Titan, it's massive acid spewing cannons firing at their position.

"Retreat to base, move!" Serik ordered, two more tanks were hit by acidic crystal shards which caused them to explode, corrosive acid spewing from the wrecks, the crew now nothing more than melted down to their bare elements.

Climbing onto the last remaining Banewolf, Serik ordered the crew to drive right back to base at top speed. Just before they departed, Serik could just about see two more over the horizon. The regiment on Abantias had no superheavy units which made it nearly impossible to engage such powerful enemies.

However, as befitting his rank, Serik had the authority to launch three Deathstrike missiles, each loaded with a powerful plasma warhead. He would need Techpriests to prepare them however. If the Imperium could not hold this world, then nobody would have it.

The recovered Valkyrie had suffered some damage after attacks by the Tyranids but was still able to fly and with Imperial codes the Valkyrie was able to pass through the Imperial defense with ease while they battled the Tyranid hordes. Kains ship landed in a abandoned Imperial Hanger away from the Imperials fighting and set to work establishing a base.

(Reaper) you set to scavenging parts from many different areas of the building, a techmarine of the Dark mechnichus arrives to give aid after you vox for a architect for bunker building, unfortunatley you were forced to leave the hounds behind, however three more squads of CSM's arrive and two squads of havocs who entrench thenselfs in the upper area of the building armed with heavy bolters and autocannons

Serik arrived back at base with the few remaining men he set out with, he looked around, "Good, the Tyranids have not arrived yet, we still have time to prepare our defences."

Contacting the senior Tech Priest in charge, he would have to divide the attention of the Mechanicus staff in preparing the deathstrike missiles and improving the fortifications of the base. Judging by the long range auspex, the Tyranids would take several days to arrive. The defences should be able to be improved, but by only on the skin of their teeth.

Moving to the silos where the deathstrike missiles were housed, Serik had to inspect the missiles in various ways before being able to authenticate the activation codes. The missiles were in good condition, the Techpriests had been tending to them well since his arrival. What surprised him was their payload, he was mistaken in believing they were plasma warheads, but had instead the more destructive vortex warheads. If used incorrectly, they could potentially tear the world into the warp.

He was satisfied. Inputting his authentication code, the deathstrikes released their safety clasps and service clamps. They were ready to be prepared for launch, although the technology was fickle, it would be impossible to know when the machine spirits would allow them to launch.

Serik tasked himself with overseeing the defence of the base while the techpriests busied themselves appeasing the machine spirits. Barking orders to heavy weapon teams and logistics crew, Serik knew that the Tyranid big creatures were the threat here. Ordering that every heavy weapon (especially the venerable lascannon) to be brought to base, and every available man who could handle a gun head to their position, Serik knew that he would have to abandon the hive to it's fate while they defended themselves.

Luckily for the people of the Hive, they were already fighting the Tyranids with Hive Gangers and pirates under the command of Rogue traders, they were in fact, probably better equipped than Serik's men, although they were most likely equipped with heretical xenos technology that the Rogue traders have acquired through their unscrupilous dealings with dangerous xenos.

Vantrava taps the activate button on the console. The trench hatch pops open and a count down timer activates. His men quickly start filing down the hatch. The stubber teams were disassembling their weapons. They finished and went down the hatch. Vantrava went to follow when suddenly the door bursts in. Vantrava curses and runs towards the hatch. A large brute thing lumbers to intercept him. He drops at the last moment and slides down the hatch and Brin hits the seal button. The hatch slams shut and a small timer appears on Vantrava's HUD. It reads two seconds. Vantrava starts laughing as a large crash is heard overhead. Vantrava then moves to the front of the lines and moves down the trench. He knew where he was headed. The imperial fortress to cause some havoc.

Vantrava cursed and then summons up the map he had downloaded to his suit. He look at the map and found a secondary entrance about a half kilometer away. Vantrava waved his men after him as he started to run. It takes about ten minutes but they get to the hatch. Vantrava pushes on it the hatch is rusted but it starts to grind open. It freezes about halfway open. Vantrava calls up his remaining plasma gun and has it set to its lowest setting. The trooper shoots the door and it along with the doorway are vaporized. A gaping hole is all thats left. Vantrava walks through and finds a service elevator. He smiles and pushes the button. Boy the fun he was going to have.

Vantrava pulls out his swords and slices two of the beasts to chucks of meat. His men on a hair trigger open up and slaughter the beasts. A deep roar is heard and Brin jumps. Vantrava called up ropes and pulleys. Vantrava then throws up a magnetic hook which latches onto the metal of the elevator shaft. He then starts to climb the rope. A standard imperial service elevator shaft. Vantrava had done this once before. He then helped his men up onto the top of the elevator. It barely held them aloft and his men were pressed against the wall. He saw the top of the shaft due to his helmets night vision. He estimated it was a ten minute climb. He picked up his bolt gun and attached the magnetic hook to a special round he kept with him for just these kind of things. He shot at the ceiling and the magnet latched onto the ceiling wih a resounding thud. He then started to climb again. Ten minutes later and he and Brin were both standing on the elevator edge. It was just barely wide enough. Vantrava put his augmented fingers into the elevator seem and pulled. The door slid open almost silently. It squeeked. Vantrava hoped no-one would notice. He got it big enough for him and Brin to fit through. He then ushered up the heavy weapons. Then his men. It took about a hour. Vantrava looked at his men then at the hallway ahead. They knew what to do and they all spread down it silently. A squad entered the only room off this hallway. It was an old matenance room. Vantrava moved his men up with hand signals to reduce volume. He looked at the map and saw the entrance into the compound. He thought of a great plan. He turned and smiled at his men as they set up defensive positions around the bulkhead door.

Vantrava slices a gargoyle in half followed by beheading another. Random las rounds fly through the air as his men kill the flying monstosities. His stuber teams then start to open up on the oncoming swarm and shred over thirty of them within a minute. Though this was not what he expected it wouldget somebody down here to open that door. Finally the gargoyle bodies covered the entrance of the shaft. Vantrava has one of his men move up and rig some explosives to seal the shaft to prevent more tyrinid from coming through the hallway. The man runs back and pulls the detonator trigger. A huge cloud of dust and pulped tyrinid come flying down the hallway. His men all covered their mouths and face. When it cleared the end of the shaft had been sealed. Vantrava turned to the door and started accessing the imperial network. His suit surprizingly hacked it with eaze. He started sifting through orders and commands. He looked then at commanding officers. Other than the marines a comissar Serik. He looked for his location on his tactical map but the comissar did not have his vox on at that moment. He looked for current orders of what he might be doing and found one. Preparing the remaining deathstike missles. Vantrava then marked the location and looked for the access command for the bulkhead. He found it and put it in motion. The door slowly starts to open. Vantrava`s men are all in the most defensive position they could set up. Vantrava hoped that no one was on the other side.

With the last preparations complete, the defences were ready. Serik could see the Tyranid horde approach from the distance, massive hulking monstrosities with small innumberable creatures scuttling around their feet.

"Any man who wastes ammunition will be shot!" Serik announced over the tannoy, "All heavy weapon teams, ignore the smaller creatures, only shoot the big ones! By the Emperor, we shall prevail!"

Turning the tannoy off, Serik marched to the front bunker, there, he instructed the heavy stubber team to shoot any man who retreats. They must buy enough time for the Deathstrikes to launch, otherwise they would be doomed.

The door moved and a large starage area opened up. A small gush of air flew through the hallway as the two equalized. Vantrava moved through and found crates stacked to the ceiling. They all were marked with heavy weapons and vehicle sponsons details. Obviously this was for the heavy weapons and ammo. Vantrava moved along the boxes. His men followed. He stopped when he reached the stubber crates. He looked at them and then pulled down one of the lower stacked crates. He pryed the lid off with the help of his men. Innside was a perfectly new stubber. It had about thirty clips with it too. It was The death korps varient. Vantrava having faught alongside them before knew that their stubbers were better than imperial standards. He brought his stubber teams up and had them switch the weapons out. The teams all examined the weapons then started to lube them with their oil. Vantrava then moved over to the plasma gun crates and had each squad elect a plasma gun operator to use to breach doors and for light vehicle opposition. He then had his five man honor guard equip plasma guns to take on large groups and more appropiately for Comissar Serik. He led his men up to the far elevator and gave each of the squad leaders a map and their objective. Squad two, a 15 man team, was to go secure a transport and way out of the fortress. Squad three, a ten man team, was to go and rig explosives onto the main power generators. And Vantrava`s team, a six man team, was to hunt down Serik and to obtain the super heavy, marchius pattern vulcan cannon varient, Vantrava had brought. They all set off to go do their duty. Vantrava knew his men would get the job done. They were masters of stealth and they also knew how to create confusion. Vantrava laughed to himself as he rode the elevator to the deathstrike hanger.

Kains agents had spread quickly and were deploying the Neuro Toxin around the Surrounding areas and several Imperial posts and activating their timers

The waves of hormagaunts were unending, their position had been overrun. Serik ordered the fall back to be made, the Tyranids had already closed to the last defence line, their ammunition spent. Even the big Tyranids seemed to be fodder, wasting their ammunition considerably.

"All missiles, prepare to launch!" Serik commanded, they were still not ready. Deathstrike one attempted to launch, but it's fuel cells stalled, preventing it's launch. The second one however, did launch, but it's payload did not deliver, it was a dud. The third deathstrike did launch, however, it's fuel cells failed, and it scattered near the Imperial frontline, opening a massive vortex, destroying both Tyranid and Imperial forces indiscrimately.

The massive warp vortex grew and shrank, moving rapidly across the battlefield. Many Tyranids were sucked into the vortex, destroying even the largest of Tyranid creatures. On the downside, many Imperial forces were also sucked in, causing massive casaulties.

The base was lost, with the vortex swallowing up the area, it was impossible to hold the area. Although the majority of Tyranid forces were destroyed, nearly all the Imperial Guard forces were also destroyed by the vortex. Over one hundred supply depots loaded with ammunition, tanks and fuel were sucked in the void, with the last deathstrike also detonating inside the hanger, the battle was sealed, although the Tyranids were destroyed, it was a truely phyric victory. The Imperial forces were crippled. Serik was lucky to escape with his life, he and a handful of veteran guardsmen escaped in a centaur, that sped away to the nearest hive, away from the rampaging vortex that engulfed the sector.

Serik was down, but not out. He knew what he must do, the Munitorium would not send more troops to replace those destroyed, he would have to deal with the Rogue Traders, Local Gangers and pirates to make a difference. The shadow war would begin.

The merciless tyranid hordes are sucked into the lethal vortex, many of the imperials retreat and the techpriests finally manage to fire the last missle, it flies over head and buries itself in the chest of a bio titan, the resultion explosion of gore splatters across an entire block of hives.

However the Imperials dont halt in thier defense, eventually the tyranid biohorde peters out. The veterans of the tyranid wars know that anouther wave will come, even more deadly than the first.



(Vantrava) You enter the hanger just as the missles try to launch, one stutters and fails one flies forwards but fails to detonate and one detonates close to the line, then the first flies out into the night and hits one of the tyranid monstrosities

(Reaper) Your agents nod and continue with their work, around you you can hear the suffle of the shambling dead however and you know that the destroyer plague has come, you smile inwardly, Reinforcements.

Vantrava quickly turns around and brings his men back into it. Vantrava them voxes his men. "Vantrava to three." "Two to one, we read." "Get back to the elevator a vortex missle is about to go off." "Yes sir read you." "Vantrava to two." "This is two go ahead." "Get us that transport now." "Alright it'll be done." The elevator comes to a halt and squad three comes running on shooting behind them. Vantrava's men strt firing with their plasma guns. The uknown enemy stop and take cover. Vantrava then presses the vehicle garage button. The elevator gets to the garage. The door opens and Vantrava and his men move out. A Crassus troop carrier then rolls up and Vantrava laughs miniacly. Then the back hatch opens and Brin walks down the ramp. "Thought you'd want to leave in one of your vehicles. Vantrava walks up the ramp and his men follow. Then the vehicle moves off and out of the Garage. A escaping centaur can be seen racing away from the base into the hive. Vantrava points at it and the driver starts to follow. The Crassus starts to speed up. Vantrava knows who's in the centaur. He laughs at that thought. He watches as they slowly gain on the vehicle. Vantrava just hopes that his driver knows how to make turns in this behemoth.

Serik saw the massive Crassus move after them. There were no more men left from the fight from the Tyranids, so he knew that they must have been gangers, or worse, renegades.

However, Serik had friends amongst the Hive, and the Centaur was small and nimble, "Take a turn at the junction" Serik told the driver. They would be making a detour to an old friend...

The Centaur zipped through the wastelands and went off road, darting through the many jagged rocks that plagued the area, after five minutes, Serik could no longer see the Crassus that was chasing them, good he thought. They would make way to an old starport owned by a rogue trader that Serik met as his days as a stormtrooper guarding the ports on Elysia.

The Centaur ground to a halt near the elevator to the upper section of the hive, the large lift was big enough to accomodate the vehicle and the men inside.

Pushing his access code into the panel, Serik waited for the machine spirit to process his data, it was accepted and the lift started to move up.

Although they had reached the upper hive, the rulers and nobility would make it difficult for a Commissar of the Imperium to do anything, and would use the slow bureacreacy of the Imperium to prevent him from making any headway.

Not only that, but the so called "Heresy Gangs" also provided a problem, although they were a powerful force that could be utilized, they did not have much love for the Imperium due to the long neglect and lack of aid that the Imperium had promised but not delivered. Therefore, although the Heresy Gangs were probably now fighting the Tyranids not only on the planet, but in space, they would most likely not take orders from an Imperial official.

Continuing to drive through the streets of the Upper hive, it was noticeably more pleasant, and well maintained than the lower hive.

Making his way to where he figured the old rogue trader would be, a sleezy bar at a more unruly part of the upper hive's red light district, Serik had a strange feeling that he was being watched...

Vantrava`s Crassus ground to a halt. He started to access the hive network. He was not in range. He had his driver bring him closer to the main spine. They stopped and he tryed again. Vantrava finally got access. He started to triangulate on news and Serik`s code. He got a general area. It was a hive spire away and in the upper echelon. He had his driver drive to the hive spire Serik was in and had his vehicle stop. He found a ground elevator for people and he and his command squad boarded it. They rode it to the level Serik was on and started to think where he was. They looked through the streets. They finally found the centaur but it had been abandon on an alley. Vantrava cursed and checked his map again. Seriks signal was suddenly kicked to high. He must have exited a bad signal area. He pinpointed the location. He and his men moved after Serik. Vantrava was inferiated about this chase. He wanted it to end. He and his men made it within a block when Serik`s signal just disappeared. Vantrava was thuroughly angered. He moved his men up to the last recorded area and started to check the area.

(snarky) the feeling persists as you push through the crowds, many of the patrons eyeing you up, sizing up what they see as an agent of the Imperium

You go to the bartender and quickly have a word with him, he points to the backrooms

(Y500) You enter the bar and are instantly confronted with two massive Ogryn bouncers, powerful reductor fields flickering around them, they are pretty much invulnerable, and regardless of the tyranid invasion they still stay to protect the dancers and patrons of the club.

Vantrava pulls out his credit chip. One of the bouncers turns and the other looks around then pulls out a swiper and swipes the card. The thing beeps and both ogryns move. Vantrava walks in and leaves his men at the entrance ready to trap the Comissar when he exits. Vantrava watches the Comissar talk to the bartender. The bartender then points at a back room. Vantrava moves over to the bar and asks for a asemec. He watches as Serik goes through a curtain doorway into a side room. Vantrava would wait.

"Well well, it's hard to believe you'd ever sets foot in a place like this" The rogue trader said as he turned to Serik.

"Zazag you old rascal! It's been a while, but I need a favour."

"Still very direct eh? What in it for me" Asked the rogue trader.

Serik pulled out a dataslab from his greatcoat. "Remember that old space station outside the Elysian system that we stormed? Guess who has the deeds to it"

THe rogue trader examined the data slab, it was genuine. Serik asked him about attempting to contact the Heresy Gangs on his behalf, although an Imperial Commissar has no clout to these pirates, a rogue trader that pays their wages would command their respect.

Beckoning Serik and his men, the rogue trader opened a small hidden exit from the room, it led straight to a shuttle to his infamous star cruiser "Extravagant" a fitting name for the highly embellished battleship, a former Imperial vessel that was wrecked and looted by the Orks, before being reclaimed by the rogue trader.

As soon as they were on board the shuttle, the door behind them slammed closed, locked with mag locks. "Are you sure it's safe boarding here?" Serik asked.

"I own this club and half of this sector, of course it's safe, for myself and my companions at least..." the rogue trader gave a short laugh, before the shuttle blasted into space.

(Y500) you feel the shudders as the shuttle departs the atmosphere and you grin, you played right into my hands, you vox your heavy weapons crews and they open up fire with 2 hydra flak cannon halftracks. The shuttle its ripped to shreds and crashes in the hive city some 12 blocks away.

(Snarky) You are calmly strapping yourself in when you feel the first of the hydra flak shells hit the underside of the Shuttle, you quickly unclasp yourself and grap a camochute, the deck is ripped in half as you run forwards to the exit hatch and in a burst of speed you leap the quickly widening gap, a quick roll then a tumble out of the descending shuttle, you see your friends body spiral to earth before his chute opens.

You fall into a spin while you struggle with your chute, finally the release clasp snaps open and your chute explodes outwards surrounding you in a caom field. You slowly drift back down to earth.

(reaper) The zombies fall upon the flesh as the vox confirmation comes through, the toxin is actiivated.

Vantrava's men quickly surrounded Serik as he landed. Despite the camo, Vantrava had had his suit track him. The rogue trader was no where to be found. Vantrava didnt care though. Vantrava walked over to the now shackled Serik. He walked right up into the comissars face. Serik growled and Vantrava slugged him in the face. Blood splattered one of the men holding Serik. Vantrava laughed and signaled his men to take him to the crassus. The men surrounded Serik and then moved to a nearby elevator. Vantrava followed but turned suddenly. He had one sword in his hand and another around the throat of the rogue trader. Vantrava chuckled. He then preceded to drag the would-be-assasin to the elevator. His men looked at the person but cared little.

OOC: you have a rogue trader friend. I had like ten minutes to post so i couldnt finish. Gosh i was going let you live. The rogue trader played perfect with waht i wanted to do.

IC:

Vantrava watched as the door opened to the elevator and 20 mercineries were waiting right outside. Vantrava cursed. A las round whooped past his head and another splatted against his armor. Vantrava`s men started firing they`re plasma guns. By then the rogue trader had worked himself free. Vantrava mearly stood there and shouted, "Lets stop this mindless killing. I have a offer to make. My men are on their way. You`ll be out numbered and out gunned, but i need you to kill that gakking chaos lord. I was originally going to kill you Serik but it seems your not what you appear. So now i offer my help in exchange for your help with killing the chaos lord." All the men stopped firing. Two of the mercinaries were dead but that was all. Serik turned around and stared at Vantrava with murderous eyes. Vantrava grabbed his helmet and removed it. He met that stare. Serik started to speak.

ok guys, now that we have a core of people who want to play, lets just restart this from a point some time after the planet has been wiped by the nids and chaos, where the corruption of chaos reigns, you can all keep your characters as if they survived the planet and you can keep their wargear, however im going to impose a few new rules to keep things balanced

1: If a player character is being "hunted" or "targeted" by anouther Player character, then unless there is VERY good reason for it i will devise a suitably ugly and embarrassing way for said "Hunter" or "Targeter" to either die or become humiliated, no insult is meant to the player, only a stiff warning

2: I will begin to inform people if they are playing over the top or godmodding, 3 strikes and your out, I will bring in my own version of what some old RP'ers from this site may know as "Idiot wars" wherin i will start making a note of idiotic or over powered posts and the ways in which they go spectacularly wrong

and last one

3: If anyone is feeling badgered tell me via PM, this is supposed to be FUN people


now ill need the people who want to keep playing in the new timeline to post

Backround: After the fall of the planet, Vantrava and his band made a base with a half strength regiment. The base about a kilometer from the hive.
