Yikes!
No amount of family counseling is going to help here.
A Washington State man had to be airlifted to the hospital after his daughter shot him with a hunting bow because he took away her cell phone, authorities said.
The 15-year-old girl refused to let her father use the phone to call for help Wednesday evening, forcing him to crawl to a neighbor's house for help, KOMO-TV reported.
When officers arrived at the house in Tahuya, Wash. - about 35 miles west of Seattle - the girl fled into the woods with the bow and 35 arrows.
A SWAT team was called in to take her into custody.
Her 35-year-old father was listed in serious condition.

Kids these days. Back in my day psycho teenage girls didn't need a reason to flip out and shoot her dad with an arrow. We would run off into the woods with a few dozen arrows and fire potshots at our parents just for the fun of it. Kids with theri xstations and playboxes just don't know how to have good old-fashioned fun.

Wonder what sorta arrow it was, if its a broadhead, that guy is screwed. They'd have to leave the point in the head because it actually causes an exit wound as well. If it was a normal sporting tip, then you could just rip it out.
And it'd be relative easy to isolate and pick out SWAT with a bow. just stay up high and aim for the armour joins.
Ah well, at least she didn't Quarrel with her dad that much, but darted to the woods and had a point to make.

How the hell did he not see that coming? I mean having had a bow, it's not the weapon of choice if you flip. So you're all worked up... whilst in this state you go to your bow case, take the bow out, assemble the limbs, string the damn thing, grab an arrow and then draw it.
Don't know about anybody else but I would of got the hint at that stage!

You must not be very familiar with modern bows. These things get very high-tech and can be fairly easy to use and do not require assembly of limbs or stringing. You just knock the arrow, pull the string and you are ready to rock & roll.
Chances are the bow, depending on the type, was a typical hunting bow that could have been specially outfitted for her. Modern hunting bows are almost always attuned to the person so that the draw weight is within their capabilities. Depending on how strong/big her old man was, if the bow had been his I doubt she would have been able to shoot him with it, so it must have been hers.

I for one welcome the return to medieval times; practicing mounted archery wouldn't be classed as weird anymore and arguments would be won through first blood duels.
Chavs would finally be off the dole when they're hired as assassins (and probably killed in the process; win-win).
If you didn't like your neighbours you'd just lay siege to them.

Clearly this is not soeone who's dealt with women going through menopause. If we ever want to conquer the world in a complete and utter whirlwind of really cool 3D effec t violence, get a division of menopausal women together, give them guns, and tell them they are fat. Aye, enjoy the memories of us decrepit folks in our final years in the nursing home! Adult diapers are in your future too sonny boy, and they are going to be changed by a large and slightly less old man who, for reasons one can only speculate, enjoys his job!
Back on topic: Seriously? What the -censored-? I seriously HOPE there is more to this story, something to justify...say...shooting a man in the head. Over a phone. Like "When my dad took it away he beat me 15 shades of purple" particularly when you refuse them access to medical afterwards. Even if you DID get beaten black and blue, standing there shaking your head "no" is a sure way to get yourself caged. I see no excuse here.
Shes already attempted to kill one man, and has gone to ground while armed. I would say SWAT is a good call on this one. Whether she gets taken down with verbal commands, tasering or problem solving via lead injection is going to be up to her. Can't say I have a preference as to which, but good god. Over a phone? <Censored>!

Typing speed isn't the limiting factor for most people, having something to contribute to a given topic is, followed by reading over what one has written to correct errors or awkward phrasing (or at least, this step is ideal). Now, I don't know what you generally post, and I can't be bothered to check, so you might be fitting both of those factors, but I must contest that typing speed is an important factor in all this.
On topic: at least bows aren't particularly deadly with medical attention, on account of not pulverizing and shredding one's internal organs like bullets or causing profuse bleeding and possessing a potential for multiple injuries like knives.

Some more details that add a bit of context to this story.
First from here:
http://www.q13fox.com/news/kcpq-deputies-say-teen-shot-dad-with-bow-and-arrow-over-cell-phone-20110525,0,7677408.story
Iovinelli managed to get into his truck and drive to his neighbor and friend Dave Blackwood's house for help.
Blackwood says, "He rolled his window down and said Dave bring your phone I need you to call 911 for me." He's got a very tall truck and I looked in and you could see an arrow protruding perpendicular from his body. I mean right side about here straight out. He said he was walking through part of his house and it was dark in one of the rooms and he felt something hit him and he looked and there was an arrow in his side and his daughter was in ... I don't know which room, he didn't explain and he said what did you do and then he pushed her away so she must have been fairly close."
And the aftermath, from here:
http://thechronicleherald.ca/World/1245527.html
A Special Weapons and Tactics team surrounded the girl in the woods and arrested her for investigation of first-degree assault. The girl was not injured but was taken to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital because she was despondent, Adam said.
The man has sole custody of the girl and is apparently her only relative in the area, where they have lived for at least eight years, Adam said. Her mother lives out of state and has no contact with the girl.

You really think you could easily take on a team of what is essentially a paramilitary group by aiming for gaps in their armor with a bow and arrow? Methinks you've been taking the Black Library books a little to seriously.

The SWAT team tracked the girl down and captured her in nearby woods around 11 p.m.
Detective William Adams said the girl was found "to be despondent with a serious medical issue.”
Iovinelli was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He is in serious condition.
The girl was transported to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital.
The Sheriff's Department said she is being treated for medical issues, but did not specify any further as to her condition.
From that first of the newer articles. Hospital makes a bit more sense if they're treating a real medical condition.
I'm interested to see if any more details on this crop up, but I'd be kind of surprised if they do at this point.

She better have one of those sewing-kit/knife things for patching herself up, as well as a thorough reading of Ragnar Benson's works.

Unless it's through the heart or the brain, an arrow doesn't actually do all that much very fast, aside from inflict pain, since it stops up the wound it inflicts and just impales the body, as opposed to shredding and pulverizing it like a bullet would, or inflicting multiple injuries that go unplugged like a knife generally would. Generally arrow wounds aren't even incapacitating, with animals shot by bow hunters who don't manage to pierce their heart often fleeing for hours before collapsing, and humans having the ability to seek out medical attention, where they're very likely to survive (technically, with modern medical attention one has a pretty good chance of surviving being shot or stabbed too, only something like 7% of shooting incidents are fatal).
