I have an idea for a character and am thoroughly interested where this RP is going to go...

But first I need to know, will there be some sort of outside environment (I.E. frontyard, backyard, side yard, whatever...) as that is going to fit into my character's idea...

backyard:

the backyard is fenced in like this around the house two gates. one on either side but the one on the left side is almost never used. they are connected to three tall wooden fences that are impossible to see through (exepting the cracks and knotholes) the yard consist of a brick patio (littered with dust and plant bits in the cornor) that is buolt up against the house and a raised concrete platform under an awning that contains a screen door heading into the kitchen. the yard is green grass (freshly mowed ATM) and is flat for the hlf closest to the house. then slopes up for about a meter (porviding a very defensible position) the slope levels out in a few feet and this is where the garden is borderd by bricks. (making a nice little fort) the garden contains: tomato plants, cauliflouer, karela, lohka, and weeds. the garden is fairly sparse on the 'floor' but a few feet up in the 'canopy' a mini could go from one end to the other (about 50 feet) without touching the ground. to the right of the garden is a large (for a mini) expanse of 'dust plains' it is a five by five foot area that the nerd (Mark) use for outside desert games and is a flat cracked area. on its other side is a small trench (deeper than a SM but shallow enough that a dred couuld stand and shoot) after this is a small clump of weeds and a sapling. to the left of the garden is a massive pine tree, around wich is a large pile of firewoodinfested with shrews and rabbits. this area is never used for anything and as such even though being only ten by 30 feet is hard to traverse even for a mini catachan.

down the side of the house to the left is a pair of trees.

down the side of the house to the right is a flower garden on one side and a spice garden on the other.

against the wall of the sunroom there is a hydrainga bush.

view to the yard's left

pay no attention to my relatives. (honestly I am a bit nervous about posting this on the web)

also the wall should not be seen but this was taken at planting time. so just imagine a great big viney forest there

Just a thought.. instead of the plastic guns and whatnot becoming "real" our little characters could use more innovative tactics and "equipment".. for example, creating their own impromptu weapons (lighter flame cannons anyone? ) as well as using nails and "custom-fitted" small blades.

Otherwise we've just got mini-warhammer.. which will just be the same as every other 40k RPG but inside a house.

Yes i meant to say I have a airsoft gun. But its a sniper so its considered a BB in power. My bad. But even my smg`s are 5 pounds each. The spring pistols are the only less than a pound airsoft gun.

Otherwise we've just got mini-warhammer.. which will just be the same as every other 40k RPG but inside a house.

Why not have both? The characters' actual weapons wouldn't be of much use against anything except another mini or maybe very small animals...

In other words, the mini's are going to have to improvise weaponry from household objects in order to have an advantage over each side/humans/bigger animals...

Will be posting my character shortly...

Yes airsoft weapons are very dangorous and hurt like hell if you get shot without proper protection. My sniper will do that with protection. So if airsoft weapons are included, lets keep the PSI for safety to the nerd below 500. A basic T-shirt can block 300 and lower a thermal shirt about 500 and lower. 600 and lower is a thermal shirt and a sweater. Even then it hurts. (And 600 will tear right through plastic models. Trust me.)

40k models are made at the 28mm scale. No measuring needed.. it's just common sense if you consider 28mm (2.8cm) as an average human in 40k (around 6ft, leaning towards the taller side). However, in reality, Calgar (without scenic base) is only about 30mm or so.. ergo everyone should be able to work out their characters' actual height.

Everyone following? Good.

Err...what does that mean? Does he have to be part of a larger force do you mean? If that's the case, he's second-in-command of the main Cadian force. He used his eye laser to burn a hole in the floor and jumped down to meet the rest of them. Or maybe just wanted to show them Grey's Anatomy...

To be honest, Mark is 19. There is no way he can afford the insane number of models here. I highly advise you, ineptus, to rule that everyone has significantly less models than they have posted. Not everyone.. just the stupidly numerous forces.. we have to think about actual army sizes here people! Lets say.. 2000, 2500 points perhaps for everyone? GMs consent required, of course.

Yarrik's Forces

EDIT: Actually, make that 5 veteran squads, 3 melta squads and 2 plasma, all in chimeras. 3 Sentinel squadrons with autocannons, 3 hellhounds and 5 LRBTs. Three Infantry platoons each with 50 guardsmen and 3 HWS, 1 with Mortars, one with Missile Launchers, one with HBs +lots of flamers and commissars. Add 9 Basilisks, a Manticore, 3 Demolishers, two Punishers, 0ne Executioner and a Deathstrike. 3 Valkyries each carrying 10 Stormtroopers with meltas, and a command squad with an Officer of the Fleet who can call in Thunderbolts from the attic and a Master of Ordinance who can call in more artillery from the attic. Anyone who takes the attic gains access to these assets. Ok?

Major Kern and his men are part of the 145th Krieg Heavy Siege Regiment, and are the third battalion in that regiment...

That being said: 200 regular troops (with assorted support weapons) 100 Grenadiers (also with assorted weapons) 3 SPG type basilisks, 3 quad thudd guns, 3 heavy mortars, a team of 15 engineers, a techpriest, 8 man command squad including commissar and standard bearer

4 Leman Russ variants, 1 Stormblade, 6 Chimeras, 3 centaurs, 3 hydras, 1 Hades drill, 1 Macharius heavy tanks, 3 hellhounds...

Dunno if I'm missing anything important or overstepping myself, just let me know wither way...

I've thought of an idea for objectives:
The Bitz Crate-neutral territory. A trip to the Bitz crate will put your forces back up to full strength. Attempts to seize the Bitz crate will be punished by other players.
The Attic-the attic houses Yarrik's reserves (some old Epic & Aeronatica Imperialis miniatures). Taking the attic gives you access to thunderbolt strikes and artillery bombardments.
The Stairs-the chokepoint using which you can hold the entire upper house. High importance.
Draigo's Reliquary-Taking Draigo's reliquary (some old broken metal Grey Knight minis), located in his base, allows you to teleport your army to a single place in the house. However, your army becomes leaderless for 5 minutes as your commander heads in to the Warp to falcon punch Khorne.
Kitchen Table: The Kitchen Table provides immunity from dog attacks, but seriously pisses of the Nerd.

Other ideas:
Chaos-Warp Rift Diorama
AdMech-Coffee Machine (Manufactorum)
Orks-Yard Sale (Pile o' Gunz)
Catachans-Dead Frog (animal skins and organs for use in cloaking odours and blending in)

Can we post introductions yet?

Toyhammer! off topic/ recruitment thread @ 2011/07/13 20:01:54

Post by: ineptus astartes

possibly...though that gave me an idea. each location in the house has a strategical importance and yields more 'points' when you have enough points you can exhaust Mark to the point of him collapsing in his bed sound asleep then you may take his credit card and buy a certain amount of troops from GW/forgeworld

on the downside, it gains you the ire of Mark, if you do not act up it gains you his favor if you are decent enough you may take a trip to the bitz crate and/or GW

so the choices are more troops (quantity)

or better armed troops (quality)

Character: Cloe
rank: Adepta Sororitas Heroine
Height: 3.2 cm
Weapons: Book of st Lucius, Cloak of st Aspiria, Blessed weapon, inferno pistol.
Age: 14 months

Bio: Painted by an expert painter, won by Mark as he placed third in a local tournament. Stands in his room in a display case, Mark never played with the model. Frightnened of ruining it.

I'll join if its not to late.

Player: Space Marine

Character: That chaos space marine with plasma pistol and chaos mutation thing.

Height: 2.4 cm

Weapons/gear: Plasma pistol and a chaos mutation (counts as a close combat weapon or power weapon depending on the nerds mood)

Age: 3 years possibly

Summary: Originally an aspiring champion of the word bearers, he has since been half painted as a night lord before the nerd dropped his squad from the night lord list. Because of this he has a split personality. He is currently on the Imperial work bench because the chaos bench was full. He will get his revenge on the nerd because of this.

Also, the stone wall, it borders the entire garden right? I'm trying to figure it out so I can properly describe the DKoKs position when I get there...

I think if you explain that they're converted counts-as fire warriors it would be OK, but they would act like human Tau for the role playing.
And crons are necrons. What could be more evil than an army of metal skeletons intent in harvesting all life in the house? Although you'd have trouble with the dialogue...

ok,im ok with necrons, its the others. and im not good with things like that.crons seems more like crows or something than nec-evil robots.

so yeah im being tau.ill post my person soon. also hows the units system works? cause the number would be different per race.

I would say you would have around...150 firewarriors, 50 somthing pathfinders 100kroot 40 vespid...it would be up to you what though. a army with less infantry gets more vehicles and a unit with less vehicles gets more infantry (I think I will start you in the kitchen.)

acually you may want to ADD to your troops cuz there is a DKoK player with 200 korpsmen and some titan hunting tanks...

(btw the pantry is at the foor of the rec room steps and is mainly shelving and rat-mouse hoes that lead everywhere as well as the fact that the pantry is in the same room as the boilers/funace)
