Mordheim: Fame and Fortune. A Fantasy Role Playing Game @ 2011/08/05 18:03:24

Post by: ineptus astartes

The Empire was a place torn: it had been in civil war for years – there was no Emperor sitting on the throne, various powers were vying for control.it was a time ripe for chaos and confusion. In the Imperial year 1999, a great comet was sighted in the sky. A twin tailed comet. The sign of Sigmar. Astronomers predicted that it would fall in the city of Mordheim, where his convent of Sisters stood. It was believed that it would herald the return of the Emperor who would restore the land to its former glory and bring about a new golden age. Everybody traveled to Mordheim, filling the city well beyond its capacity, with them, they brought murderers, cultists, rapists, mercenaries and all manner of shady charachters. The once peaceful city rotted from the inside out, into a hive of scum and villainy (see what I did there?) The citizens of Mordheim quickly degenerated to perverse depravity, falling into chaos, living in a state of utter anarchy. But still more people came, making the situation far worse. As people gave in to acts of depravity, demons walked in daylight, unshunned, the seeds of Chaos having bloomed into sickly trees of corruption, damning the souls of the degenerate, who now called Mordheim their own.
The comet fell on The Emperor’s New Year's Eve, but sigmar did not come. Rather, the comet smashed into the city, slaying the unfortunates who went to watch. This was believed to be the wrath of Sigmar, his judgment on the heretics. Mordheim became a domain of fear, anger, aggression (Yoda: the dark side of the force are they.) Soon after, word spread of a wondrous stone that lay strewn all over the once fair city, known as Wyrdstone. The wyrdstone was rumored to have all manner of strange qualities. It was discovered that factions would pay incredible amounts for this precious stone, whatever their motivation. So bands of soldiers, mercenaries, heretics, and thugs began traveling to Mordheim, now known as the feared The City of the Damned, their goal: to find this wondrouse stone and make their quick fortunes…

This is a Mordheim RPG, set in the warhammer world. This is not a short post RP.
I need a decent amount of space for each post to make it interesting. I also need you to flesh out your character.
Before anyone starts whining ‘But there’s too many!’ I have been working on this for a month and a half, that is no small chunk of my life, it is a large one in fact.

Many of you know me to be a bit flippant and tolerrnt of shennaigens. Well not here. This is a seriouse RP. And by seriouse I mean: No off topic, No spamming out of the apropreate ranges. GOOD characters, origional characters, KNOW YOUR BOUNDRIES! If I have a black orc smashing it’s way through empire spearmen, Well that’s fine and dandy. If I have agoblin taking out a rat-ogre with a small piece of wood and a rock then there will be problems.

(note: ineptus astartes, 21stcenturysquid inc, or Games Workshop enterprises are not responsible for any greif, caused by NPC or PC death.)
Now that the warning and legal disclaimer is over, I present to you the holy…MECHANICUS! Wait…that is’t right. Oh yeah…the holy…MECHANICS!

You will be given a warband of varing sizes in the beginning. You can hire more mercs, or have your tribe/empire/clan send you more troops, for mony, or wyrdstone.

You will be given a starting amount of gold at: 5,000 GP

Armie lists will be given, along with hombrewn rules. Important combat will be decided by dice.

These are the troop choices and their costs. (armies not on here can be requested)

Standard Table: (in this order) price move speed, hit points, moral strength.
Average human villager: 4 3 5 4
BEASTMEN
The Beastmen carve out their lairs under the thick canopies of the forests, but they are not creatures of nature. In fact, they have very little in common with anything wholesome or natural. They are twisted parodies of man and beast alike, but far more vigorous and powerful than either. The Cloven Ones, as they like to call themselves, belong to Chaos in both body and soul. Unlike humans who need to be tempted and brokered into serving the Dark Gods, or even the hardy men-folk residing in the North who are indoctrinated from the moment they are born, the Beastmen are creatures of Chaos with every fibre of their being. They have no more choice in this than a fish has a choice whether to live under the water.

Beastlord leader: FREE. 5 6 10 7
6 abilities of your choosing (Hate of Order is free)

SKAVEN (clan-reactive)

Skaven are perhaps best described as children of Chaos, warped and mutated creatures who are as much rat as man (or possibly as much man as rat). They are hideous, hunched creatures with sharp teeth and cruel claws and long, worm-like tails – a dark, twisted and rat-shaped parody of humanity, a race of unscrupulous and cruel creatures whose sole ambition is to usurp the civilised realms of the Warhammer world and take up residence in their tattered remains.

Skaven culture, if it can be truly called such, is a vicious and despicable similitude of the society of men, where dishonesty and cruelty are virtues and where those Skaven who are considered the most skilled in betrayal, the cruellest and most underhand are raised to positions of leadership, the Warlords of the vast armies of Skaven.

Clanrat: 25. 6 3 4 4
Unending tide (20 or more, enemy units facing this must remove 2 of their moral, and take a retreat check [moral against dice, if moral is higher than the dice roll, all is good, if not, they flee to your camp]) charge,

Warp lighting cannon: 500. 2 12 8 6
Warp blast (sends a group of enemies flying in different directions) warp lighting (targets a smaller area) malfunction (if a 1 is rolled while firing, then another d6 will be rolled, if it is 2 or less, the weapn explodes, if it is 3 the weapon breaks down, if it is 4/5 the weapon ceases to fire, if it is six, the fire is rerolled.)

HUMAN: EMPIRE
The Empire is the largest and most powerful of the lands of men in the Old World, a mighty nation that stands as the bulwark against the many enemies of man. It is a land where magic, technology and the courage of mortal men rub shoulders, each an essential weapon in the war against the malign powers in the Warhammer world. The men of the Empire have none of the supernatural strength nor brutal upbringing of the Warriors of Chaos, nor do they boast the numberless ranks of the vile Skaven, the savage resilience of the green-skinned Orcs or uncanny agility of the High Elves. Rather, the men of the Empire rely upon their steel-forged armour, the potence of their wargear and unflinching faith in their warrior god, Sigmar.

DWARFS
Between the civilised lands of Men and the desolate Dark Lands lie the Worlds Edge Mountains. These are the ancestral holds of one of the most ancient races, the Dwarfs. Their once-great domains remain a bastion of honour, strength and courage in a world assailed by Chaos.

The Dwarfs are resolute in defence and unforgiving in attack. The Dwarfs hold a grudge like no other, vengefully hunting down those who have wronged them to exact their toll. Many an innocent descendant has been surprised by a host of Dwarfs arriving at his door, demanding that justice be exacted for the wrongs of his forefathers.

The armies of the Dwarfs fight almost exclusively on foot, clad in heavy armour and equipped with hammer and axe. On the battlefield they are known for stubborn courage and will resolutely hold the line against the most determined of attacks. Their mastery of black powder weaponry and other mechanical secrets has enabled their unsurpassed craftsmen to create deadly war machines.

When at war the Ogres fight in a singularly aggressive and destructive fashion, storming forwards into the foe in a tidal wave of towering, muscular warriors. An Ogre stands almost twice the height of a Man and as a band of them smash into the ranks of the enemy they hit with such force as to break bones, pulp flesh and leave all but the strongest and most disciplined warriors in a bloodied ruin.

CHAOS DWARFS

Chaos Dwarfs occupy a region of the fictional Warhammer World that would roughly coincide with the middle east in the real world. It is to the east of the Old World, known as the Dark Lands. It is a large plain and mostly barren, filled with ash and fire.
The Chaos Dwarfs' major city is Zharr-Naggrund. Zharr-Naggrund is situated in the middle of the Plain of Zharr, a massive crater in the Darklands full of underground workshops and mines. Much of their activity goes toward building and preserving this city. It is in the form of a massive ziggurat, with gates larger than there is any need for, which led to it being also called The Tower of Zharr-Naggrund. On the top of the city is the Temple of Hashut, where slaves are sacrificed to their god Hashut.

WOOD ELVES

The inhabitants of Athel Loren are mysterious and secretive, rarely straying beyond the safety of their woodland home. Beneath the leafy boughs of Athel Loren's mighty trees, the Wood Elves watch for interlopers and invasion, ever ready to protect their domain.

When danger threatens, the Wood Elves and the spirits of the forest fight as one, both deadly and unforgiving in defence of their borders. The Wood Elves are agile and stealthy, able to stalk swiftly through dense undergrowth as easily as a Man might walk down the paved streets of Altdorf. Wood Elves are unparalleled archers whose disciplined volleys ruthlessly cut down intruders, leaving corpses riddled with arrows, their mouldering bodies remaining as a warning to any who would follow in their wake.

The Wood Elves do not fight alone, however. Even as the Glade Guard form stealthy regiments of archers and other Wood Elves band into Wardancer Troupes or the deadly cavalry of the Glade Guard, the spirits of the forest awaken in defence of their realm. Towering Treemen, mighty enough to crush entire phalanxes with their wooden limbs stride through the forest supported by malicious Dryads and the merciless Tree Kin. An enemy of the Wood Elves must face the full fury of Athel Loren, a powerful woodland realm that has resisted the depredations of Men, Dwarfs and Beastmen for thousands of years.

In battle this brutal, back-stabbing commander will do anything for victory - essentially every one of their warriors is expendable. Like all good commanders, Skit will lead from the back, a nice safe place where he can watch the flow of battle and decide where his sword arm is needed most.

scythe, brace of pistols, axe, sword, bombs, jezzail musket.

when he heard that there was wealth aplenty in the top world, Skit set out with his best soldeirs to take it. he will do anything for it, even going so far as to make alliances with other factions.

Location: Street off of the upper Quay Side (see map at bottom of post)

The city of the Damned was quiet. In the cobbled street, two crows fought over a piece of bread, CLINK. A man, a treasure hunter, sifted through the ruins of an old cart, after several minutes of searching, he finally found what he was looking for. Cackling with glee, the man laid out a roll of cloth before himself, and began to examine what appeared to be a shard of deep obsidian-green rock.

Several yards away, a Manhole was lifted just an inch. a pair of crimson lights flared in the blackness, they focused on the man, and out of the darkness of the sewer, a single, clawed hand reached up and lifted the manhole away, the thing that crawled out was a beast of nightmares. Two sharp incisors poked over a snout, on which a twitching nose regarded the human’s back. The clawed paw slid into the Rat-Man’s belt, and withdrew a short blade.

The thing sprinted silently towards the human, and I a lightning maneuver, hammered the knife into the man’s heart and liver, from his back. Sending dark red blood spraying all over the cloth. The Rat-Man yanked his knife out of the gurgling victim, and squeaked excitedly, it poked through the contents of the bag at the dyeing man’s side, and sniffed, squeezed, and prodded the contents repeatedly, until it pocketed the bests swag, and had eaten its fill of the man’s provisions, before scooping up a rock and flinging it into the manhole. “Ow!” came a high-pitched voice. The next Skaven to poke it’s head out wore the same black cloth as the first. “Wot’s that then?” he asked, gesturing with his iron hook at the small pile of loot. “Mine, is what it is.” Muttered the other Gutter-runner. And began to examine the wyrdstone. The second walked over and snatched several items while its compatriot’s attention was elsewhere. Sitting down, he gobbled up a portion of the food stolen from the rapidly cooling man. A small pile was reluctantly set aside. It contained the best items. And most of the money as well as the Wyrdstone. This was to be their tithe to warlord Skrit Dezzree. A l thudding oof paws was their only warning before the skaven assassins turned around. Standing before them was a Skaven of large stature. Flanked by a pair of rat-ogres,, and rattling gunners. And holding a Jezzal musket in one paw and a scythe In the other.
Skrit the Fang.

“Good work Ruk.” Said the Warlord,. The first gutter-runner simply stared back. “Ask someone who cares…Boss.”
Skrit gathered up the loot in a sack, flung it to one of his ogres and said, “That stuff’s as good haul, we’re gonna give it to our contact, then, we’re gonna take it back.” The brute chuckled dumbly and walked off. In a flash, the Skaven warlord’s Jezzail was aimed at Ruk’s head. “you talk like that to me again son, and I’ll put a warpstone bullet in yer brain.”

Kurt Manbane looked towards the remains of the city that laid in front of him. 'Mordheim..' he muttered, 'After 5 weeks of travelling, we have finally reached our target. Move out, we have reached Mordheim!'
Kurt knew very well how dangerous the ruins were. It was full of mercenaries looking for fortune, and other armies too. He hoped that there would be other Chaos Forces inside the city. Perhaps they could help him.

As the Chaos Warriors reached the city ruins, they stumbled upon a wounded man. Kurt kicked him in his stomach, and the man fell on the ground. He grabbed his sword, and held it in front of the man. He picked a parchment with a picture of a stone on it. 'Have you seen this stone..?' Kurt asked. The answer was simple. 'No.' 'Thats sad. That means your useless to me. Pitefull.' Kurt leveled his sword, and as the man screamed for forgiveness, Kurt planted his sword in the chest of the old, wounded man. Stupid old fool, Kurt thought. Deep inside, he was angered. He had to seek his price without any idea were it was. All the sudden, he got an idea. The stone could be seen as a relic, so perhaps it was kept 'safe' in a church or cathedral. He hoped he didnt travel here for nothing, and he wasnt planning to leave the city without the gem, despite the costs it would take..

Kurt Manbane quickly spotted a small chapel. He raised his arm and lowered it, using it as an order to follow him. He silently pulled his sword. The chapel door was closed. With a single spell, he changed the door in hot ashes in just a second. The priest that was in charge of the chapel turned around, welcoming the visitors in his chapel, until he opened his eyes. He screamed at the Chaos Warriors in front of him and tried to grab a knife to kill as much of the followers of Chaos. However, one of the Chosen grabbed him and held him tight. 'Tell me, priest, have you seen this?' Kurt showed the priest the picture of the gem that he wanted. 'Y-y-yes sir!' Kurt smiled. 'Where is it? We will reward you kindly..' The priest was silent. 'Let me think a moment sir! You wont regret it!' Kurt let the priest thinking. Suddenly, the priest knew the answer. 'I have seen it at the rock!' Kurt answered: 'THank you. I will hope you like your reward.' The Chaos Chosen that held him put a knife in the throat of the priest. He had finally rest. What a good reward.

Location: Hunger woods (West of Mordhiem)

The Hunger wood, which held a temporary base of operation in the offensive set up by the Wood elves, was dark under its thick leafy canopies that were formed by the maze of giant trees that filled it. Spots of sunlight would drift down through the occasional hole in the foliage. The beams of light hung in the air coloured by the thick pollen and dust that floated through the woods.

Nami Ethuna stepped into one such beam and it lit up her face momentarily as she walked onwards through the trees towards the location of the wood elf tree top city. The thick wood of her skin was a pallid greenish brown due mostly too her lift among the trees shadows. Unlike other Dryads she worked which the occasional human custom such as wearing clothes. She wore a flowing black skirt that drifted in an airy manor around her mid-drift and a band of black fabric was wrapped around her torso. Her tree stump like feet remained bare as this kept her more in touch with nature and its workings. Dark vines ran from her wooden scalp to resemble braided hair and two branches seemed to grow like horns from her forehead.

Through the shadows she moved alone nearing the spot told to her telepathically by the wood elf spell weaver that summoned her here. They needed aid and called upon her kin, telling of the humans’ deceitful and malicious behaviour as incentive for cooperation, not like it was necessary. She walked past a rather thick tree and saw a wood elf way watcher stood in a clearing between a few much larger trees the rest of the trees in this forest. He spotted her as she walked out into the clearing. This was the location where she had been informed to go.

The way watcher inquired as to why she had walked all this way instead of using her magic to re-growth herself in the clearing. “I thought it would be more pertinent to re-growth out side your defensive perimeter and approach in plan sight to avoid suspicion,” Nami replied in a cracking monotone voice that creaked as she moved her wooden lips. The way watcher nodded to agree with the logic behind her wise words and pointed up into the tree canopy above them to draw her attention up towards the city suspended above them.

She smiled at him and stepped onto the pulley controlled lift which he lowered for her entrance into the city. On entering the city on the lift she was greeted by both the Highborn lord of the city and the Spell weaver who had summoned her to aid them. She shock hands with the two auspicious elves and walked with them towards the main hall whilst conversing on many things. They disgust her journey, the battle plans, how the preparations for gathering more troops was going and many things besides.

Districts of mordheim. by: Toastedandy

The city of Morheim was destroyed on the stroke of midnight, marking the year 2000. The city was struck by a twin tailed
comet, which many believed to herald the second coming of Sigmar. Thousands flocked from all over the old world, to witness
the miracle of Sigmars return, only to see the comet thunder into the city, killing hundreds and almost destroying the old
quarter of the city. The city was in chaos, fires burnt and neighbour fought neighbour.
Amidst the smoke and ash that was once Mordheim, shards of Wyrdstone was found. It was discovered that this rare stone could
cause miracles: healing the sick, raising the dead, even turning base metals into gold. Tresure hunters and mercenaries flocked to
the city, looking to make their fortune.

Merchants Quarter: Mostly left intact after the impact of the comet, the Merchant quarter thrived in the influx of travellers. Anything
and everything can be bought here. Policing is almost non existant, as most of Count Steinbarts men were called to the Palace
grounds. All race's mingle in an uneasy peace, only held together with the promise of gold and Wyrdstone.

Quayside: The quays of Mordheim have never been as busy. Ships and vessals from far off lands dock here, bringing reinforcements for
their own interests.

Great Library of Mordheim: Gutted and half burnt down in the riots that followed the comet, the Great Library is been used as a
refugee camp. Squaler and crime is ripe here.

River gate: Heavily guarded gate which allows boats into Mordheim. Under complete control of Count Steinbart.

Middle bridge: Bridge connecting both sides of Mordheim. Under complete control of Count Steinbart. Closed off.

Market Square: People rarly venture so close to the impact site. The area is dangerous during the day, as various bands cut each others
throats, trying to get what they can. At night, however, the area becomes a haven for gouls. They have become braver,
their numbers swollen as they crawl here from the dark corners of the old world. Bodies are dragged into the dark, and
are never found again.

The Pit: Ground zero, most dangerous area of all Mordheim. Pockets of radiation have driven the surviving locals mad and blood hungry.

Clock Tower: The highest point of all Mordheim.

Poor Quarter: All sorts of dark and hideous creature made their home here.

The Rock: Former prison for the whole region, contact has been lost over 15 hours after the impact.

Rich Quarters: Almost unaffected by the impact. Under complete control of Count Steinbart

West Gatehouse: Closed off. Under complete control of Count Steinbart

The Palace: Surrounded by 11 foot tall wall, and garassoned by the city guard, Count Steinbart resides here.

Temple of Morr: The temple closed its doors once the comet impacted. It hasn't opened its doors since, rumour has it that the cemetary stirs at night

Executioners Square: Kind of self explanatory.

vine looked at the map.it was slightly old and she was sure they hadent planned to redecorate like this. "keep moving! i want to be at the pit(bit?) before anyone else!" as she walked, she smiled at the memories she had made at that settlement they had passed. those that hadent give them any useful info had been beaten, asked again, and if nothing useful was heard, thrown to her men. she was sure they had a great night that day. oh and the children. after she was done with that group they happily wanted to join her. the look on there face as she happily slit there throats.

snapping back to the present, she looked around. plenty of buildings, yet very little movement."search the buildings! takes anything that is useful and break anything thats not! if you find anyone living you know what to do!" as she stopped, she looked forward. she opened the map boor(door?) quarter. "set up are main camp here. use whatever you can to build walls around this section.oh,and seal off any manholes or other underground entrances,i will not take a chance of rats invading.we dont know who else is here so be on alert. you 5,bring my pets, were continuing on to the pit(bit?)." as they continued, she felt alive. he hadent felt like things could go wrong in a long time. it felt good. as she reaced the pit,she looked out for any signs. "my its big." said one of her warriors. vine replied "well, yes,it got blown up by a meteor." smiling, the warrior replied. "yeah, thats what i was talking about,." laughing, vine started her walk down into the pit. "lets us see if we cant find us a big stone instead."

(up to you if we find anything)

It was dawn. Over the dusty plains surrounding mordheim’s southern half, a dust cloud was kicked up. Fifteen carts trundled over the road, decorated in crude glyphs and sigils. Around the ramshackle convoy trundled boars, grunting and rutting in the dirt for food, while atop the largest cart stood a massive Black Orc. Armed with a greataxe in one hand, and a pistol in the other, it glared at the city before it.
Opening his fang-filled mouth, he bellowed, “BULLGOR!” with a clatter, one of his top nobs poked his head out from under a tarpaulin strung over some crates and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes.
“whut yoo want boos?” he grumbled, and dunked a bucket into a tub of beer.

“Well Gee Bullgor, maybe I want to know WHY DA HELL DERE IZ DERE A ZOGGIN CITY DERE!” he screamed, gestuting in the generall dicrecion of mordheim with his pistol.
Bullgor scratched his bald head and bare chest. “Mebbe it got dere over night?” he hazarded
Vrashku stared at the Feral orc for a long time then slowly said. “Yoo know, Vrashku, I dunno if oyu iz right in da head.” Then he exploded “YOO HAVE DA BUILD A CITY DUMBARSE! IT DON’T ‘CUM WHEN YOU WANT IT!’ DIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DA PLACE WERE DAT GREENROCK IS! NOBUDY TOL’ ME ABOUT A CITY! NOW WE HAVE TA ACT ‘CIVILIZED’!” Screamed

Stirland Ford, Imperial Year 2000

Sailors ran nimbly accross the decking, hands hauling the top sails open. Ships pitched wildly as waves crashed and churned. The river was
choked with ships of all sizes. The noise of sailors roaring at each other audiable over the churning river. Smaller vessels which attempted to
pass through the bigger vessels were crushed, as the larger ships crashed against each other. The Constitution, a three-masted frigate broke away
from the chaos. The top sails were wrestled open, and the boat cut through the water with grace. Sigmund glanced up at the sky. A storm was brewing
in the south, black clouds loomed menacingly over the city. As Mordheim came into view, plumes of smoke could be seen, rising from what must of been the
were the comet ploughed into the city. The place had an sinister reputation. Any sane traveller would actively avoid this city, and now, with the discovery
of Wyrdstone, sane people still avoid it.

Sigmund lent over the the boat, a mug of Bugmans Ale in one hand, staring at the now gentle waves. He was a thickset man in his late fourties, with a dark
brown, trimmed beard and a dark complexion. As the Constitution sailed gentley around a bend, the massive river gate loomed in the distance. The colours of
Count Steinbart fluttered proudly in the wind, above the damned city. Guards and cannons lined the wall, hoping their presance will maintain some form
of order. Massive gargoyles stared down at the ship, as it passed underneath.

"Hur, some big cannons up der. Pointing the wrong way tho" Gregor's voice was like grinding stone, the ship strained against his massive bulk, as he leand against
a mast.

Sigmund smiled and necked the last of his ale. "Your right there, Gregor. Seems like this Count has gone mad, letting anyone in. Only a matter of time before it
all goes to gak."

"Dats why we're here, right?" Gregor straightend his back and covered his right eye with a huge slab of a hand, "Gold a plenty boys, only got to find it"

Sigmund laughed at Gregors impersenation of the Mercenary General Enzo's favourite line. "Bloody right, mate, bloody right."

It didn't take long for the crew of the Constitution to dock, Sigmund payed a pretty penny to be the first here, and they were worth it. Sigmund payed the captain
what he was owed, and a little extra for the damages Gregor caused over the long voyage. A young boy ran up to Sigmund. He was little more than a pile of muck
dressed in rags. "You Sigmund, sir?" he asked through squinting eyes. "Whos askin?" bellowed Gregor. The whole dock fell to silence, and all eyes were on Gregor.
Sigmund reached up and put his hand on Gregors shouldar. The boy was terrified, the huge angry slab of muscle loomed over him like a giant.

"I am, boy, don't mind my freind" Sigmund led the boy away from Gregor, lifted him up, and set him on a crate "Now boy, spit it out, what do you want?"

"Ehhh Im supposed to show you to the tavern.....sir!" he stutered.

"Well then, lead the way"

as vine searched the ruins, her group came to a pond. as they approached 3 trolls jumped out. being caught off guard vine barely dodged getting hit but was able to kill one. her warriors took a beating and she heard a hydra howl as its head was hit. filling with anger, joy and excitement, vine yelled orders. "warriors, with me! hydras, feast on that ones flesh!" as she charged, the troll swung, and a warrior went flying. another swing and another warrior got air. jumping up on the things head vine started choking it while her 3 remaining warriors stabbed it full of holes. as the fight ened,sh allowed the hydras to teast on the dead.

walking over to the pond vine gasped. "men! over here! wrystones! alot to!" as her men fished them out she looked the biggest one over. s strange, yets so...wonderful. licking it,she smiled. "you 3,take these 26 stones back to are lands, but keep 6 for studying. the rest use to get me more troops." as they rushed off, vine jumped on the injured hydras back. petting it,she made it take her to camp. "so far this has been an amazing trip." as she reached the door quarter, she was glad to see strong walls almost complete around it. as she entered threw a makeshift gate, she looked for her tent. walking in,she sat down on her bed. "hmmm, we will wait for the new troops to arrive, then head for the Colosseum. but 1st,i need to... rest"

Post by: Lord Harrab

The Marauder scout traced the armored footprint with corse fingers, muttering to himself, before standing and hurrying back to the silent warhost that stood like statues on the ridge behind him, towards a giant in black armor who stood at their head.

"It is a Northman tread, my Lord." the scout said, with a respectful bow to the giant, "Another band has reached the city before us."

"do you have their numbers." said another voice, and a young woman stepped out of the ranks of heavily Armored warriors, her red hair and cloak thrashing in the wind as if alive, if she was cold she gave no sign of it, she was used to far worse in the Wastes.

"It is impossible to determine exactly, mistress." he said, with another bow to the woman, no less then that he had given to the gaint, "but it would seem to be a similar size to our own, perhaps even smaller."

The woman nodded and gestured fro the man to rejoin his fellows, then with another gesture ordered the war-band forward, armored boots marching in perfect unison as they drew even closer to the cursed city.

The flame haired woman gave the giant's armored gauntlet a gentle caress, then rejoined the ranks of the chosen, drawing her blades as the ruined walls came into sight, while the giant, having given no indication he had even noticed her marched with the other unit of warriors, his mace in hand.

The other Northman band was interesting, Freya thought, the Southerners were weak and undisciplined, falling to fear and panic at the mere sight of blood, but another tribe would a worthy battle, a chance to prove the high Favor her Lord was held in by the Gods.

She gave a delighted little shudder as she felt her lords voice in her mind as he laid out an order of battle, then she pointed a sword at the distant city and bellowed a war-cry that was taken up by the others until it echoed through the forested hills like the roar of some mighty beast.

Lord Harrab the Eternal had arrived to claim this city and everything within it.

The Dead Fist Inn, Docklands

The winds and rain howled against the walls and windows of the Dead Fist Inn. Sigmund and Gregor got to the tavern just before the rain picked up.
The tavern went eerily quiet as they walked to the bar. Each table had a different parties, race's from every corner of the old world, Dwarves, Elves,
even barbarous men from the north, all sat in an uneasy peace. Sigmund called for the attention of the bar wrench. She was a stocky woman, with dirty red
hair and few teeth left.

She shoved two filthy mugs of ale in front of them. Gregor took his happily, and drank it in one go. "You gonna drink dat, boss?" asked Gregor. Sigmund
took one more look at the stained glass. "Go ahead" he muttered, and pushed the drink away. Gregor took the drink happily, and called for two more.

As night set, the tavern got busier. Gregor joined a table of Dwarves, and drank heavily, swapping stories of past battles. Sigmund sat beside the fire,
enjoying the warmth, and drinking deeply from a bottle of Bugmans he aquired from Gregors new freinds. The bar wrench came over and cleared the table beside
Sigmund. She glanced up and smiled at him, Sigmund grinned back. Not a fething hope, he thought.

Eventually, as the last groups stumbled out the door, and the bar staff began clearing the tables, Sigmund thought it was best to try and sleep. Gregor was
passed out on the table, his snoring loader than the thunder outside. The staff tried to move him, but ended up leaving him be, and cleaning up around him.
Sigmunddragged himself out of the chair, and tried to climb up the stairs. He found his room, pushed the old battered door, and passed out on the damp
straw matress.

Skrit Verminfang walked into the tavern, his large form looming over the floor. He still had to look up to people though, for a skaven, 5’7 was height not to be scoffed at.
The patrons were visibly repulsed by his countenance, possibly more though, by the 8 stromvermin and 2 rat-ogres that acconpined him. As he leaped onto a chair, his troops tried to mingle, but the Mordheimers had never seen the children of the Horned one before, Skrit sneered, and nibbled on a chunk of warpstone, the ancestral rock that had created the skaven race, rats had consumed it, but had mutated, into half-breeds, destined to live in their macabre under-cities, and sewers...

The bartender, a thin man with an air of greed about him walked up just in time to get the barrel of a jezzail pointed at him. “Gimme Rotgut.” He snapped at the man.
Skrit turned around to watch an orc and a massive human punch it out over some drunken triviality. He took the opportunity to fdling a small knife into the tangle for laughs, and grinned to himself when the man howled and clutched his arm. The orc then slugged the man in the face for his weakness, as the beverage was placed in front of him, he looked around at the other patrons.

Reiko pressed several dirty rags to his thigh, in an attempt to draw out the warm milk. He was met with little success, only managing to soil his pants slightly with grease. He slipped off his pants, and pulled on a new pair, with holes in the knees worn in from work in the field. The little shack was small, maybe ten foot by ten, only fitting a small dresser, stove, a table with four chairs, and a small spot to lay blankets as a bed. One yellow window above the stove let in the sickly light, slightly coloring the shack and casting haunting shadows across it. For a roof, a plate of tin had been hammered into the wood, without even nails or bolts to hold it down. He picked up his soiled pair of pants, about to take them back to the creak, when he heard Bell let out a horrible cry.

The Dead Fist Inn, Docklands

"The Empire of men is divided, the throne remains empty, and the lands are in turmoil. These are dark times indeed." Sigmund dreamt of the last time he spoke to his father,
the night of the fall of Helmgart. He still had nightmares of that night, his first real battle. He was one of the few survivors who managed to escape, his father gave
his life to ensure Sigmunds escape. They had no chance, the Count had intended Helmgart to be a stumbling block, and withdrew the bulk of his forces to the main cities.
Only a skeleton army remained, charged with slowing the advance down. They had no chance.

"UUURrraaagh my frikking head!" Sigmund gritted his teeth, as he rose as slowly and carfully as he could. With one hand holding the side of his head, and the other keeping his
balance, Sigmund walked down the stairs, into the steaming, stinking bar. He took one step at a time, cursing the name of Bugman and his own foolishness of drinking Dwarfen
ale. The bar smelt even worse now, but Sigmund couldn't place it untill he walked into it. A huge wall of damp fur and muscle towered before him. Staring down at him with
rat eyes, and a drooling mouth, the rat ogre breathed angrily. Sigmund looked up at it with one eye, and rested his free hand on his pistol.

Something got its attention from behind. It turned slowly, ready to shred whatever stumbled into him. DOOSH! Saliva and blood sprayed from what once was the rat ogre's maw. Now
it was little more than a pulpy bloodied mess. Sigmund looked up at Gregor, who it seemed wasn't affected from the nights drinking. Sigmund stepped over the huge furry form and patted
Gregors arm. "Hell of a punch. Doesn't look like its going to be getting back up" said Sigmund as he kicked the lifeless form. "I think we better get going" said Sigmund as he
gestured for the door.

Skrit jumped up. The rat ogres jaw had been knocked out, and the stormvermin had formed a circle around him. The rat ogre was merly unconscious, a byproduct of the warpstone embedded into it’s skeleton. But Skrit was mad…
-later-
Skrit raised a paw, and the booming of the rattling guns went quiet. The inn was up in flames, and Skrit’s clanrats were trashing the surrounding areas. When Skrit had seen the ogre fell one of his mightiest of beasts, he had lost it, and ordered the entire block put to the torch. The jezzailers were taking opportunistic potshots at the fleeing civilians, and the clanrats had looted everything and brought it to Skrit’s fortress, under the city. When the area was utterly devoid of life, the skaven left it, taking their priors deep into the undercity…

Such was the wrath of Skrit Verminfang

A wolf. A wolf had attacked Bell, and it was now eating her, her entire left hind leg gone. Reiko's vision went red, feeling something that he thought he had left behind a long time ago. Rage, Hate. He ran towards the wolf, not even sure what he was going to do. The wolf dropped his muzzle from Bell, his maw red with the blood of Reiko's only friend. It crouched low as Reiko approached, then sprung up at his face. Reiko grabbed the wolf's maw, ensuring it would have no taste of him, and pinned it to the ground as he began to beat the wolf with a fist. At first the wolf ignored him, choosing to flail dull claws at his face, leaving a perfect three line scratch across his cheek. But the steady rain of blows, strengthened by Reiko's immense rage, began to take the toll, and the wolf instead began to whine for mercy as it flailed it's legs at the ground desperate to escape. Reiko released the wolf, and kicked it in the ribs before it made traction. The wolf flew a full four meters with a satisfying snap. It's wounds were painful and crippling, but no where near fatal, and began to limp away before Reiko could do more harm. Reiko turned to Bell, letting tears flow freely. She lifted her head slightly, eyes bright at the sight of her master, wagging her stumpy tail even as blood spilled from the mortal wound in her side. She had no hope of surviving. Reiko fell to his knees beside her, the flow of tears had become a storm, as he sobbed softly, scratching behind Bell's ear as he did when she was just a pup, scratching at the door in hopes of a home. She sighed softly, as Reiko bent down to her form, burying his face in her coat. He smelled deeply of her scent, the copper tang of blood and the ever present stink of dirt and wet dog. He let himself sit like that for a moment, then lifted himself to his knees and picked up a good sized rock, distracting her with his other hand by tapping the ground gently. Any lesser creature would be dead, but not Bell. She wouldn't leave him. She never would be happier anywhere else. Who would feed her, warm her, and love her as no one else had ever wanted to? Even as she lay dying slowly, her eyes were still bright and loving, completely unaware of her condition. Reiko brought the rock above her head as she sniffed where he had touched the ground, wondering what it was he wanted her to see. Then, he brought the rock down sharply.

He wouldn't stop screaming for hours.

South Quays, Morning, Second Day

After a hearty breakfast of fried bacon and potatoes, Sigmund felt much better. His headache was clearing, and he was feeling more like himself. Gregor
helped himself to a whole roast pig, followed by a large amount of ale. Sigmund gave the hostess a gold coin, brushed himself down, and followed the grinning
Gregor out onto the street. The streets were packed with soldiers, beggers and dockworkers. A fight broke out between a bretonnian noble and an orc a few metres
ahead. It seemed that the huge orc didnt appreciate the horse walking infront of him. In one movement, the hulking green beast reached up, and threw the noble clean
off his horse, and into a pile of muck. The nobles men at arms quickly surrounded the orc, pointing halberds directly at its neck. The orc snarled, but if it moved
at all, it would impale itself on the blades.

A heavy arm shoved Sigmund out the way, as half a dozan orcs charged at the men, howling and screaming. The men quickly cut the first orcs neck, and formed a shield
wall around the fallen noble. The orcs crashed into the shields, knocking the men back. Samshing their heavily armoured gauntlets against their shields. The men
were overwhelmed and pinned down by the massive strength of the orcs. All they could do was hold their shields up, with all their strength. One of the bigger orcs
grabbed one of the men, and threw him a clean 8 feet, into a passing cart. Sigmund reached for his pistol and nodded at Gregor. Gregor smashed into the orcs, sending
them flying. One of the orcs got caught under Gregors heavy boot, and screamed in pain as its bones were crushed and organs ruptured. One of the orcs scrambled to its feet,
and turned to see the barrel of Sigmunds pistol infront of its left eye. CRAck! The orcs head imploded from the impact. Sigmund only just had enough time to draw his sword
as the biggest orc came charging through the smoke. Sigmund lept to the orcs left, as it swung clumsily with its choppa. He dove to the left again, as the huge orc swung around
on its heels, bellowing war crys at the top of its lungs. Sigmund stumbled over the body of a man at arms, and the cheiftain dove ontop of him, pinning him to the ground. CRACk!
Sigmund rolled the lifeless body of the chieftain off and picked himself up. He turned to see Gregor pummeling the last orc into the pavement, the rest fled after seeing their
leader defeated.

"You all right boss? Deres some blood on yer" panted Gregor.

Sigmund looked down at the blood gently flowing down his shirt. "Best see if we can find a doctor" said Sigmund. Gregor walked over to the dead Noble, picked up his gold purse and
tossed it to Sigmund.

"Least he could do" grinned Gregor.

The Elf council had told her that before moving out to the City Mordheim that there was an encampment of Beast men near the Elven city to the north that threatened there supply root for trade and caused a blockade that wouldn’t allow any reinforcement to approach. In order to gain any help through out there invasion of Mordheim her and a strike force designated as the first wave of attack against Mordheim would be sent out to deal with these Beast men.

Moving silently and swiftly through the forest Nami Ethuna crouched low listening for sounds of recognition from the beast man patrol that blocked the road through the forest. Nothing, they remained un-aware. She had made this journey to the blockade with a strike force of 20 glade guard. The force they saw now at the ram shackled gate that the beast men had constructed from broken tree trunks and iron spikes was more than they had expected and she would need more assistance in order to defeat these monsters that befooled their forest.

Summon the strength of the earth mother and channelling magical essence from the air she drew upon the powers she had been bestowed with at birth and summoned more forces of Dryads and Tree men to aid in the ruination of this blockade. Savage looking gnarled trees around them sprung to life and marched towards the blockade.

The Tallest beast man garbed in chaotic armour plates and ragged fabric tourniquets spotted the advance of the trees and roared a wild maniacal bellow to the guards. The beast men counter attack with rapid response, which caught Nami and her forces off guard. A hail of arrows that was let lose from the Glade guards long bows rained down upon a group of armoured Gors that advanced up the road from the wood elves left flank. Their thick armour was too tough for the finely crafted arrows to break and the Gor continued their advance.

The Beast lord had leapt at one of the Giant towering Treemen and used its giant axe to hack away at the Treemans leg causing it to tumble to the ground with a thundering crash. Another Treeman rushed to its fallen kin’s aid and pounded the Beast lord to the ground with a humungous knotted fist. The 20 dryads that had been summoned rushed to confront the 5 Bestigors that rushed into the forests to slaughter these attackers.

Catching them off guard the dryads ripped one of the bull like creatures in half with countless stabbing wounds via their spiky twisted arms. 2 Centigors dashed through the trees towards the dryads only to find there way blocked by the colossal figures of another pair of Treemen who hastened to attack the four legged monsters. Nami rushed to aid the Treemen against the savage beast lord and using a quick spell to constrict him in vines allowed the Treeman to crush this foul creature.

The Gors had charged the Glade guard and were now caught in a furious close combat fight that saw the deaths of 3 Glade guard in exchange for the final end of the Gors pathetic existence. The remaining three Bestigors fled as the Treemen advance on them and Tore done the barricade in the road allowing passage for the trade root once more, however that would not stop these disgusting beast men, there were more in their Camp which would still need to be slaughtered in order to ensure the safety of this trade root.

riverbank looking to the Rock

'So thats it' Kurt Manbane said 'Seems well defended. Do we know anything about its defence?' One of the Chaos Warriors answered his lord 'No sir. It seems empty, but I dont think it is.'
Suddenly, a gun fired, and one of the Marauders fell on the ground, dead. All of the servants of the Dark Gods grabbed their weapons, and the Chaos Knights jumped on their horses.
'You seem rich fellas! Best give me your fancy stuff, or ya will end up like him!' A mercenary captain stepped forward, pointing at the body of the Marauder. Kurts answer was simple; 'Kill them all.'

The mercenaries came out of cover, drawing their weapons. As they shot at the Chaos Warriors, hoping that they would kill them, a dark cloud surrounded them. The Chaos Warriors, all alive, charged anouther band of mercenaries, knowing what would happen to those that were shooting at them. Put of the dark cloud, screams were heard, but the sound wasnt loud. The mercenary captain looked to the horror that happened to his gunners. He thought he saw strange shadows in them, not being human atleast. As he looked around him, he saw that the rest of his men were finished off. As he wanted to run away, he was slammed on the ground. Screaming in fear, he saw Kurt Manbane walking towards him. With a smile on his face, Kurt Manbane began the spell known by some as 'Daemonic Gift'. The captain would pay for this attack, and serve Kurt for eternity as a Chaos Spawn.

Quayside - Middle Bridge - Clocktower

It didn't take them long to find a doctor. The orc weapon cut suprisingly cleanly across Sigmunds left shouldar, it was a long, but shallow cut and
didn't require anything more than a quick stitch. The doctor was a kindly old woman, clearly efficant from years of battlefield surgery.

"Your a lucky man, I've seen what orcs can do." said the doctor as she put her equipment away.

"Orcs was never a match fer us, there too thick in the head." exclaimned Gregor proudly.

"That should just about do it" she said as she finished cleaning the wound.

"Where too know boss? Ain't gonna get much done if its just the two of us"

Sigmund pointed east. Scrapping through the thick layers of smog and ash, standing as a symbol of Imperial engineering. The Mordheim clock tower still
stood, as proud as ever.

The crowds slowly disipated as they left the quayside, the only people left were fool hardy treasure hunters. Up ahead they could see the improvised
roadblocks set up by the city guard. Woudldn't do them much good here, thought Sigmund.

"Alright lads, hope your not wanting to go looting, are ya?" the two guardsmen on watch approached lazily, resting their halberds on their shouldars.

"Nothing like that, sir" said Sigmund as he slipped a few gold coins into the greasy hand of the guard.

"Good too hear" he said while checking the authonticity of the coin, "Its a bit wild out there, gouls and zombies and the like."

"Hmmph, Ain't nothin' fer us" grunted Gregor as they left the roadblock, and continued down the deserted roads.

They didn't travel very far, but they were taking their time. Could be anything out there, in the dark. Gregor was on edge, he kept one hand on his handgun
at all times. The sun was still high in the sky, there was a good 6 hours of sun light left. They did not want to get stuck out in the darkness. The silence
was occasionally broken by a falling roof tile, or crow. Other than that, it was deathly quiet. The noise of their footsteps echoed along the narrow streets.
They travelled without instance for what felt like an age, across bridges, past burnt out buildings, over charred corpses.

As the sun dropped down behind the city walls, the city suddenly became very dark. Gregor drew his handguns and grunted to get Sigmunds attention.

"There's things out there in the dark. 'Ungry, blind things. Things that ain't right. They sniff you out, and then.... well, there ain't much to eat
out there, that's all I'm saying"

Sigmund nodded, he knew Gregor well enough to know when he's agitated. Sigmund drew his pistol and Rapier, and they began to move with haste towards the tower.
Clouds gathered over head, and it began to rain lighly. The only light in the streets now was coming from the tower, like a beacon in the dark. Sigmund raised
his hand to warn Gregor to stop. Sigmund peered around the next corner, and turned pale. The heavy doors of the tower were just ahead, barred closed from the
inside. The only thing between them and there destination, were 4 ghouls. There eyes bestial and insane, their snarling lips revealing sharp teeth. Troubled
souls for whom the taste of dead flesh drove them insane long ago. Gregor bellowed and charged headlong into them, firing his handguns at the first pair, dropping
one. He swung one of the guns around like a club, catching the creature under the jaw, snapping its neck back fully. Sigmund sprinted along behind him, shooting
one of the gouls in the chest. The remaining goul shrieked, causeing the hairs on Sigmunds neck to stand on end. Gregor threw a rock at it, smashing its face in.

"See that? right in its ugly mouth it was hur hur hur" laughed Gregor

Sigmund reloaded his pistol as he walked over to the door. He banged his fist against it "HEY OPEN UP! ITS SIGMUND!" he banged again, but there was still no answer.
Sigmund took a few paces back, checking the tower for any windows they might be able to climb in.

SMASH! Gregor charged straight into the door, sending it flying off it's hinges. "Oi boss, in here"

Sigmund re holstered his pistol and followed him in. Once he got in, he heard that scream again, only loader this time. He turned around to see a corded, muscle bound
creature standing on a rooftop across the road.

"gak"

Location: The Rock

Beyond anything else, Kashbad felt a sense of disappointment, the myriad mutants that inhabited the ominously named 'Rock' had provided much less sport than the Chaos Dwarf had anticipated. True, the battle had not been without amusement, and Kashbad chuckled as he recalled fondly how the Gor had screamed as he buried his axe deep into its face. He was pleasantly surprised at the amount of blood that had splattered his black, curly beard, and he had snaked out his tongue to taste the crimson spray. The mutants had been caught unawares by the volley of lethal spells launched by the five priests of Hashut, turning the crude wretches inside out with bloody pops. Kashbad had taken the lead, lopping off limbs and heads with each deadly arc of his great, runic axe, Khaznorgber. The slaughter had been incredible, although altogether much too short for Kashbad's liking. The cruel dwarf laughed spitefully at the lack of martial prowess displayed by the warp-spawned freaks, reminiscing fondly of their dying shrieks. Of the survivors, the Chaos Dwarfs had clapped in chains, ordering their new slaves to aid them in fortifying the Rock even further, which would serve as a waypoint for the soldiers of Zharr-Naggrund in their conquest of Mordheim. If a slave fell form exhaustion, well, all the better. Torture was an art the Dawi'Zharr had long ago perfected, and the screams of their victims rang throughout the Rock. Kashbad watched with fell pride as his warriors performed weapon drills within the central square of the prison, the clash of their weapons mingling sweetly with the screams of the tortured. Kashbad smiled, his steel-shod tusks glittering from beneath his deaths-head helm in the torch light. This city belonged to the Dawi'Zharr, all others would be broken beneath the tread of their iron boots. They would scream sweetly to him.

Kurt heard a scream from the Rock. Something in there was alive. How... absurd. He had thought that the Rock was comletely empty, except for some prisoners. He never was planning to take the main entrenca anyways, and he was looking for another entrance. He hadnt found one, but he had send the Marauders to ask some people about it. Ofcourse they would be very 'nice' to the people, in the same manner as he always had been. However, it would be possible that there wasnt another way inside the Rock. If that would be tha case, he had to think of something else. Perhaps he would ask for reinforcements, or search the city for other Chaos forces. It would be possible for those to be somewhere in the city.

Suddenly, Kurt heard a sound. He grapped his sword and turned around, but he smiled. The Chaos Spawn, formerly a mercenary captain, was making strange noises again. He had been doing that a couple of times since he had his new appearence. Kurt hoped the captain liked his new form. Tentacles can always come in handy.

The creature sprinted along the rooftop, nimbly jumping over chimney stacks, keeping perfect balance even on the wet roof tiles. Sigmund didn't let it out of his
sight. It dropped down into an adjacent alleyway, and stooped in the shadows. Sigmund took a few steps away from the clock tower, trying to get himself into a nice
open space. Gregor raised his handgun and fired, he missed by a few feet, hitting a rotting wooden wall.

The creature howled again, and sprinted forwards. Sigmund stood his ground, resting one hand on his sword, the other on his pistol. The creature bound forward, like a feral animal, its eyes fixed on Sigmund. It was monstrous, almost as tall as Gregor, but hunched over, with huge dagger like claws. Sigmund waited for the last possible moment and fired.`He caught the vampire on its shoulder, causing it to lose its balance, he drew his sword and in one moment, cut across its exposed neck. The creatue gurgled in pain, but lept out of the way of Gregor's charge.

It turned to Gregor and started attacking him in bestial fury. Gregor stumbled backwards, caught off balance by the fierce foe. Sigmund thrust his sword into the vampires
back, getting it stuck in its muscle bound back. It screamed again, Gregor swung his hand gun at it, spintering its handle across the creatures face. Sigmund moved back
towards the clocktower, he frantically tried to reload his pistol as Gregor kept beating the creature.

KRAKaBOOM!

The creatures torso exploded into a fine mist of long dead blood. "Wha?" Gregor blinked the blood out of his eyes and dropped his handgun to the side.

"See that son?! thats how you kill a vampire" shouted a familiar voice.

as they entered the Colosseum, vine looked around."spread out and search, but stay in groups.we dont want to get overwhelmed, now do we?" as they left, vine kept the hydras near. scratching ones chin she said "come now my pets, let us go find more treats."

(ill await pm)

Beach on the looking towards the westside of the Rock

The Chaos Marauders were busy hammering steel poles on the wooden planks they had made. The top of the poles were holled out, so it could be attached to a rope. They had made the wooden platforms big enough for the horses of the Knights to stand on, and enough to get all of them to the island in front of them. It was an island infront of the Rock, and it would be easier to get on the westside of the Rock if they used that island.

As the Marauders were finished, Kurt grapped a crossbow. He pinned an arrow with a rope on it inside a rock, making sure it couldnt fall out. He then shot an arrow with the other side of the rope towards a tree on the island. The arrow got in the tree, and there now was a rope from the island to the main land. Now the Marauders laid their constructions on the rope, and Kurt and the Chaos Warriors and Chaos Spawn got on it. fter him the Knights and Chosen followed, and the Marauders got on one of the wooden planks as last. The only thing they had to do was pull the rope, and the platforms they were standing on would move towards the island. Kurt smiled. 'Just as planned.'

As the army all were on the island and got their platforms on the island, Kurt grabbed a knife and cutted the rope they had been using. They would not be followed.

Urist Godfoe gazed out at the advancing manlings, chuckling at their foolish attempt to scale the Rock. They knew not of the Dawi'Zharr within, and would be unprepared for the fiery death that would assail them. The three Doom Rocket platforms were in position, the engineers, adjusting the angle of the lethal missiles to coincide with the chaotic horde below. Stormcallers sat low behind the wall, lying in wait to unleash a barrage of lead upon the invaders. Behind them, rank upon rank of mutant slaves were arrayed, each watched over by a cruel overseer quick with the lash. The first ladder clicked upon the stone, a force of tribal savages climbing their way to the top. The first to peek his head over the fortification soon lost it in a gory spray as a dwarven rifle turned it into pink mist. Falling back, the corpse tumbled backwards, obliterating itself upon the flags, spreading its innards about the pavement in a disgusting display. As one, the Stormcallers fired, dwarfcraft bullets making short work of soft flesh, bursting the manlings open in gory showers of meat and bone. The slaves surged forward, more afraid of the whips of their masters than the blades of their enemies, shoving the ladders back onto the jagged stone below. Urist grinned wickedly, unsheathing his two-handed axe, barreling into a barbarian who had managed to gain purchase on the wall, knocking the breath from his lungs, and sending his sprawling on the stones. He tried to raise his morningstar in defense, only to have it smashed away by the Dawi'Zharr's savage blow that numbed the marauder's fingers. Cackling insanely, the Chaos Dwarf slammed the axe into the manling's crown, splitting the skull and spilling blood and brains down the side of his face. Heaving the corpse aside, Urist hacked the legs of another foe in twain, chuckling as the tribesman hit the flags as he screamed. Raising his hand to defend himself, he screamed again as the dwarf's axe sent his fingers spinning from their cradle. Urist held the barbarian by the hair, sweeping down with the abyssal axe and sending a jet of crimson spewing from the stump of the warrior's neck. Laughing madly, Urist ordered the warriors into battle. This was going to be fun.

the Rock

As the Chaos Dwarfs killed off some of the Marauders, Kurt laughed at them. Silly, small creatures. He heard guns blazing, but he wasnt concerned. With a single spell he blew away the Chaos Dwarfs shooting at him, making them fall onto the ground and probably stunned. As he and his forces advanced inside the Rock, the Chaos Marauders all fell. Kurt saw a stair leading to his prize. He remembered it from a scroll he had seen. Unfortunately, there were some Dwarfs in front of it, but he had a plan. He sended the Chaos Spawn towards them, making sure that the Dwarfs were locked in combat. He and the CHaos Forces advanced on the stair, moving towards their prize..

I apologize for my lack of posts as of late. This week has been chock-full of revelations, surprises of both the pleasant and unpleasant nature, gaming, hospitals, and a single instance today when ChaosUK was hit by a car. By far, it is the strangest week I have ever experienced, so I hope you can understand that my mind has been... elsewhere. Then I will be leaving to head up north sometime next week, and am not sure when I shall return. I hope you understand.
