So lets see those images of your previous work. It'd be nice to get an idea of different ways you can apply your skills because it'll give me ideas for what to commission you to do!

That'd be sweet!

Since it's a blog i'd say post everything you have, maybe spread it all out though. An image a day or a few a week would be cool, it depends how many you have.

Plus if you do that you'll attract a lot of attention which might drum up some more business for you.

Like a Tumblr acct. weekly content, in fact I can make it the same day every time. I like that idea.

OK, I'm not a fan of airbrushed clothing. I'm not a fan of "nerdy" clothes. I'm definitely not a fan of buying swag that supports Games Workshop (think of how many hundreds or thousands of dollars you've already poured into the game... and you need to spend more on indirect advertising for them by purchasing and wearing clothes??)

But this is the exception. The quality you're putting out in the time frame is pretty amazing man. And doing it by pic request is amazing. And I'm usually a hardass about product placement (except bands) and I'm an even bigger cheapskate when it comes to clothes. You seriously should step it up a notch and work on some more promotion (spread links to other forums). I bet you could make really good money off of it. Plus I think you could put the price up a bit, but only after I order my shirt ;D I'll probably want an Eldar one and an IG one down the line, gotta let the paycheck clear and set up my Chinese account to PayPal. I'll send you pics once I am ready.

Damn thats some impressive work.

Out of interest, what are their generally lastablility through washing machines etc, or would you recommend hand wash only?

Would you be willing to do images on front on back, just out of curiosity.

@felixander: thanks for that! Word of mouth like that is some of the best promotion, but yes I should advertise I suppose.I have a website: zariart.com

@Morathi's Darkest Sin: I use a paint that sets to heat just like silkscreen. After its been ironed(or put in the drier) one time at least, its set for life. They do last longer if you wash them inside out in cold water. though.
Double sided is no problem this one is on the back of the Eldar shirt.( he asked for a sexy harlequin) So I made this:

Yeah I think you'll be hearing from me sooner than later, just need to figure out what I'd like.

Oh, final query, although GW style is going to be required from me anyways, whats your view on other commisions from other settings.
Say if I wanted a pic of my Hunter and her main pet from WoW for example, is that an option?

@Vitruvian XVII: Much appreciated! Also I checked out your traitor guard; Lovely!

@Flinty: Your blowing my mind with that! Im actually pretty close by accident.Of course the real thing is so obviously better in its intended usage. I can see how dropping those things outside the flak line near an armored company and just scooting right inside of range and mounting up in the tree lines could change things quickly. For that price, anything over 3 months use out of them could be considered bonus.
I have to make one or a squad for my IG/Heretic army...I am compelled. Thanks for that!

Thanks!
I thought that one turned out really well, I actually have a pic of that one but couldn't upload it because it is "not a gaming image". I have been doing Avengers shirts of late and would love to show them off. They fall under Hero clix category right? ( A comic shop owner wanted spider man riding piggy back on the hulk while he fights Venom with Wasp flying around! At first I was Doubtful, Then he explained the whole thing and I got carried away and made it into a mural on his wall).
So I will put an offsite link to some of the alternates that I do for people.

If you want to put it in simple terms, yes it is a related gaming image. Its based on a character (player) in the game Battle Pirates produced by Kixeye. Still, I dont see why you cant show off your other work, it all creates more work for you in the long run if others know that you can and will do more than just GW based stuff.

Hey awesome shirts - just a quick bit of advice - make sure to just list Customer shirts - not Customer Warhammer shirts. GW is a bit of a pain in the butt if you are redrawing IP stuff etc. I have gotten some letters in the past etc and just small tweaks - such as customer shirts helps out.

They get mad if you are basically saying you are going to redraw the design over and over again thus infringing on their IP. If you make sure it is the idea that each is custom etc - that would be the best.

Plus the shirts are bad ass. Love the Khorne symbol for sure.

airbrushed warhammer shirts @ 2012/06/15 00:55:38

Post by: zariart

The one pictured above is an original image by me, but of course would fall under IP of GW if I call it a warhammer image. So you are correct about the labeling. Thank you.
I checked out your work and was impressed. I especially liked your bags! check em out people(yes I just plugged you)
You said you have received letters from GW? I have wondered what the format of that might be as I have never received one. ..yet

Personally seeing something go from a blank canvas to something of that quality in fast-mode boggles my mind. Really makes you appreciate the time and effort and allows you to see it come to life.

Righteous! I think Space Marine just because I would imagine it would be "easiest" (I use that term very loosely) in that it has large areas so one could see how to do gradients, shimmer effects, battle damage and whatever else you decide to incorporate. Plus we all know they are the most popular

suggestion

start a booth a a local craft fair, advertise airbrush portraits

then turn them into 40K characters and charge them $

even if you make nothing we will enjoy them

Yeh man we had some cool plans, and I've had a few more ideas since. You ever do work for hanging on walls?

airbrushed warhammer shirts @ 2013/02/10 22:08:22

Post by: zariart

Yes,
I use canvas and then roll it up to send, or stretch it on to frame for wall hanging.

I endorse zariart's work.

He helps shape your ideas before he begins the project, communicates well, ships fast and obviously does a great job!

The Eldrad shirt above is mine and it looks even better in person.
