Hey guys I didnt see a thread made for this so I thought I would post one about it. As you all might know Adepticon is this month April 19th - 22nd and I was wondering who all from dakkadakka is attending and what event you are participating in.


I will be participating in:
Thursday: Driving through the night!
Friday: Warhammer Fantasy Big Brawl (unless I make it into the 40k Championship tournament)
Saturday: Warhammer 40k Team Tournament (I need some team mates though as my other options backed out, let me know if your interested in teaming up)

Thursday Night - Warmachine 25 point opener
Friday - Warmachine 50pt Hardcore
Saturday - 40k Team Tournament w/ Team Misfit
Sunday - Warmachine Team Tournament w/ Team Misfit

I'll be demoing/selling Brushfire all weekend

Wednesday early evening: Arrive with Insaniak from Australia via LA
Thursday: Meet up with several other mods and Legoburner to go sightseeing and shopping in downtown Chicago. Set up in the evening.
Friday: WHFB Big Brawl - Night Goblins RAWR!
Saturday WHFB US Championships - Night Goblins RAWR!
Sunday: Wander, participation games. Evening is Poker and Australian treats for mods and DCMs/dakkaites who track us down.
Monday: Shopping and fly out to Oz in the very late afternoon

A quiet and relaxing 5 days...

I will be going to cover for the Blog and praising Phil Kelly in Team Tournament!

Sunday volunteering; not yet sure whether helping run a tournament or something or general gofer. sunday night poker tournament/drinking!

Friday: Hirst Seminar, Prince's Campaign for WAB
Saturday: WAB singles, Hail Caesar demo game
Sunday: WAB team

I will be there Saturday. Need to pick up my FW order. Then just hang out and check out the other vendors and stuff. Mabye snap some pics of coollooking armys. Meet up with Gitz. then head home..

I really need to get my new army together... It would be nice to actually play the damm game LOL.

Sunday. Killzone Tourny in the afternoon. Poker Sunday night.

OK Cyp. Angela and I will be sure to stop for a demo. We wanted one at Dakkacon but you were pretty tied up at that point.

We have quite the array of people going... I have a question for 40k enthusiast out there who are not already in the 40k team tournament.


I am currently #3 on the wait list for the team tournament as I originally didn't sign up because I was unsure I would be able to make it to adepticon. If I make it in would anyone be interested in being a part of team awesome sauce(can change). The goal is hopefully to get a person from 4 different states in. I am from Missouri so if your in Missouri you can throw your name in but if another state joins they are in. If you are interested then post here and send me a PM on dakkadakka. If money is an issue I can pay your team fee but traveling and housing is on you.

Rules:
1. You have to be willing to have fun.
2. You dont cheat in any way shape or form
3. You actually come with the intent of having fun while curb stomping the other team or being stomped in yourself.
4. You have fun regardless.
5. The first round of beers is on me.

Its atleast one round of free beers on me if your in.

IIRC people pay him to draw cool murals/pictures on their army transport bags. He uses markers of some kind, I think?

Actually we'll have team shirts (mine will be green) *and* I just ordered some buttons with my avatar and dakka name on them. Two large ones for me to wear and 20 small one's for the first 20 people who introduce themselves to me! And I did buy a fez at our family vacation at Disney World this spring with a Jedi Mickey pin on it that I'd already stated was going to be my gaming hat...

Sadly no.
Due to Vegemite being packed full of the goodness of folate the US food and drug administration have banned its transportation into the US as its levels are supposedly higher than the available medications in the US. And heavens forbid that foetuses don't develop spina biffida or drunks develop Wernike's encephalopathy or korsakoff's psychosis because they, or their mother, eat Vegemite. It also helps prevent anaemia, and nerve damage during chemo! Magic stuff.

I will be there, as long as Goatboy doesn't get us arrested by the air marshals.. Playing 40K Team and 40K Tournament.

Gonads if you have the time I would suggest "Hot Dougs" best flaggra dog around, or general hot dogs I guess with lots of flavor. Downside is I would recomend you get in line around 9am during the weekdays as they pack up fast.

As far is Mr. Butcher I am running around 130-140 and mine are vets _. For those of you who haven't been btw the Warhammer Ancients event is top notch. Last year we had TWO yes TWO Slayer Sword winners and 2 more Golden Demon Winner playing in the Team event. That is something you don't see to often.

Thursday: A couple workshops.
Friday: Painting class in AM, Black Library in the evening, browsing & demos in between.

Depending on how I feel on Thursday, I might just decide to hang out and participate in some sort of meet and greet. After enough shots I might think that I am Alpharius too!

A fun little bit I cooked up for this year. I get to wear the big one... the little one's are for me to give away to the first 20 folks who come up and introduce themselves to me. Not that having my button is going to be a big deal for anyone, but I thought a little give-a-way might encourage folks to come say "Hi!".

Thursday: Arriving in the afternoon with a pick-up game here or there
Friday: 40K Championships
Saturday: Combat Patrol or possibly get in the 40K Team Tournament
Sunday: Gladiator, unless I am fortunate enough to make the top 16

Windy City is like $27 for a one person shuttle, and $11 per each extra person, so even if you get one mor person, you each save almost ten bucks.

Hey folks! I'll be at Adepticon alongside Frozencore Joe and Brian from "A Gentleman's Ones"

Thursday - Setting up the tables for Killzone, so if you are good at stalking you might be able to find us and catch the first glimpse of the Killzone tables.
Friday - going to be running 2 Special Operations: Killzone events from 10am to 10pm with a break from 3pm to 5pm. You'll find us where the tables are at.
Saturday - the crew will be all over the place. I'm not sure about Joe or Brian, but I will be playing in the Warhammer 40k Team Tournament from 7am until 10pm, so all you have to do is find what table "The Justice League" is playing on. I'll be running the same list I ran last year with some buddies. This time we are just doing it for the lulz with almost no preparation whatsoever. We're just going to be putting models on the tables and hope for the best... of times. I'll be drinking. Heavily.
Actually, Brian will be playing in the Warhammer 40k: Combat Patrol with his Necrons, but I'm not sure if it's going to be the 9am-2pm or the 5pm-10pm event.
On Sunday, before the three of us run the last SO: Killzone event from Noon to 4:30pm, we are all going to participate in the Freeblades event from 9am to 11am. I have no idea what it is, but it was cheap and at a time that was available for all of us. I have no doubt that it's going to be a blast, though.

OK - it is just about go time everyone!

And, even though just about everyone is Alpharius, I do want to try and meet as many Dakkanauts as possible!

Found out that Target stores here in the US have food... unlike Target stores in Australia. Crazy, zany yanks...

Waves of overweight men in their 20's and 30's pouring through the lobby earlier with some awesome display boards and rather large Warmahordes carry cases and GW carry cases.

I will be speaking 'Ostrayan' (Australian English) and will be easy to track down with my online name plastered on at least 1 t-shirt or hat and any given time (Thursday night is time to crack out the 12 year old 'Got Dakka' cap from the old bricks and mortar DakkaDakka store.

In gaming conversations will be probably not appreciated as Night Goblins take an age to get through a turn and I'll be pressed for time but happy for long winded GW bashing sessions between games!

I'm playing WoC in the WHFB Big Brawl on Friday, Playing Empire in the championships on Saturday, Playing a daemons/ogres list in the team tourney on Sunday, then going home in a thoroughly gamed out state.

I managed to get into the tournament. Made the final 16. We will see how well I hold up come Sunday.

Team: And they shall know fear took 1st overall in the team tournament. Congrats to the whole crew. Team awesome finished in the middle of the pack but still had a lot of fun and did well for 2 weeks prep.

Dakka Detachment 3 took Best Hybrid Team.

The Wardens were in the final judging for the best imperial theme. Placed 50 I think overall. Huge improvement over last year.

DD2 took 30th, we were neck and neck with DD1 until the last game. Next time!

lol my bad. Saw you both throughout the weekend and through out the guess of which one it was.

I got my dakka dice from Lego! They performed yeoman's duty. Unfortunately I think they got mixed up with other peoples dakka dice in the course of the tournament and the only ones I still have are a pair of gold ones... but I'll take what I can get!

Had he same issue with mixing them up with others so I had to retire them.

Anybody get any Adepticonstructs they are willing to part with? Looking to pick up one or two more.

They were actually selling them at the event at the check-in area... Nicorex said he picked up 4, I believe.

My hope is that they'll sell them online- apparently old event figs are for sale, and I think these would be popular.

I almost picked up a couple more, not sure why I talked myself out of it.
