Crooked Dice was set up to produce and promote the wargaming of all things Cult TV. We love Doctor Who, The Avengers, The Prisoner, Sapphire and Steel and James Bond (and all the rest!) In an ideal world we will keep producing rules and miniatures to allow these varied worlds to come alive in miniature on your tabletop. Just add dice.
Graeme (left) and Karl (right) are gaming geeks separated at birth to preserve the world from their unhealthy interest in old sci-fi TV. After dabbling with many sets of self made rules they have decided to unleash their Mac skills and throw down the D6 gauntlet to launch Crooked Dice.
When not gaming or watching old sci-fi TV, Graeme and Karl lie dormant – the very concept of other interests is alien to them. Between them they have 3 children and 2 wives, and live exactly 374.687 miles apart. They have met in person precisely four times.
Please be aware that we are literally a part-time 2 man operation – we write, design and produce all our own rules and website. We answer the emails and forum posts and do all the packing and shipping. Our output is small and perfectly formed – we run the creative end from our secret underground Living Rooms, on our Macs, and the office side from our secret err… office. Any bigger and we'll outgrow ourselves – we barely have room for our awards as it is.
All Crooked business decisions are reached only after countless emailed arguments and threatened lawsuits. One day we will publish the contents of our inboxes as memoirs, just for a laugh.
Now on to their most recent release, supplementing their "Time Life Security" range, which is a looks-wise homage to the old Captain Scarlet series:
Their previous releases include the alien conch kin and a crapload of head sprues to bring a little diversity to your ranks of minions and extras:
Automatically Appended Next Post: Whoops, forgot one!
And the new head Sprue combining three hard hats. Kev Dallimore painted these and added his customary gs beard to one of these - it's not on those sold
Thunderbirds also receives a homage though. Then again, just about any old TV show and with their most recent expansion, On Location, big movie from that era gets a homage or tongue in cheek reference. Most are beyond me to pick up, I'm sadly not that British or old yet.
BrookM wrote:Seeing as the previous Crooked thread has sunk to the depths of N&R, here's a new one that I can update with the latest releases from Crooked Dice.
2nd page and 5 days since the last post is not exactly "depths of N&R". Guess you just want your own Crooked Dice thread, repeating what was posted there.
The game uses a D6 system called the Action Engine:
The action:engine is the name of our fast play rules which underpins both 7TV and the Doctor Who Miniatures Game.
The action:engine uses simple D6 rolls to achieve everything, so no hunting for odd dice to get playing. The mechanics are simple, modifiers are kept manageable, and everything is nice and grounded – you'll never need to work out half of 87% or anything similar.
The game is designed for 28mm miniatures and skirmish games – 12 to 20 models per side for an average game. Models are represented by archetypes – a profile detailing their physical and mental stats along with any special abilities and attacks they might get. The DWMG has fixed archetypes for each character, while 7TV lets you build these within a framework of guidelines.
The action:engine primarily deals with recreating TV-style action, so each turn you're likely to only be able to use half of your models, more if you've got leaders in the right places. This recreates the cameras rolling on certain scenes rather than others, and forces players to prioritise their activities each turn.
In a nutshell its a skirmish game that that pits good guys versus bad guys themed on classic TV shows and movies, with suitable event cards like "Commercial Break" and "Monologuing" to name a few that give you the edge while playing the game. Some things do differ though:
- At the start of each turn you die off to see who goes first.
- You can only activate up to half your models on the board, though with special rules and abilities you can activate more.
The rest is more or less the same as other games: you play objective based scenarios (or use VP's to determine the winner) using a cast of your own creation using over half a dozen archetypes per side, with again half a dozen co-stars to choose from and well over two dozen types of extras to fill out the casts.
BrookM wrote:IIRC the Captain Scarlet vehicles are old OOP die-casts and model kits from aeons ago.
My brothers and I had all of those, also a bunch of SHADO vehicles from UFO. We even had Captain Scarlet dress up suits with shoulder signals that lit up with a battery, and cap guns.
Our Crooked Minions ran 3 quick-play episodes of 7TV at Salute 2012 (many times!), now we have expanded them and they're available in this 30 page PDF. Choose your sides in one of 3 exciting episodes:
Fiddler's Green: Hugo Soloman needs to make a call! Scares in England's green and pleasant lanes.
The Mist From Mars: Time Lift Security defend against an alien invader hitch-hiking a space capsule.
Canning Town Collar: DC Frank Skelton aims to nab the slippery Duchess down the docks. Shift it!
It's interesting to note that the characters played at Salute were the cut down versions in the Cast sheets at the back, not the detailed ones in the actual episode guide.
It's a shame the fourth, larger, game wasn't included as an episode too. I'd have liked to find out more about that game as I didn't get to play it; I only got to play The Canning Town Collar
Agreed, this is an excellent supplement to our existing casts, really digging the double barrel shotgun.
By fourth, larger game, you mean "You Only Live Dice" correct? That's a store and event exclusive. Stores can purchase a promotion pack from Crooked that includes a pile of minis, quick-start rules for 7TV and the YOLD scenario.
No the larger game at Salute 2012 was On Her Majesty's Crooked Service. I was a 6 way (3 vs. 3) attack the evil genius' lair affair.
I played it in the afternoon at Salute and had a great time. I was inordinately lucky (skilled ) in destroying the Gurus doomsday machine without loss - Go Dare Sisters!
I'm now a bit taken by this game and 7ombieTV and thouroughly recommend it to all.

There was a whole article in the Salute 2012 booklet that described how they made their Captain Scarlet rolling table game - Scarlet Thunder for the 2011 show. I have attached a link to the Salute website (awesome pictures there too), if that doesn't have all the info you need I can dig out a copy of the show book and see if it has any extra details
Ah right, the mountain top assault! They did a nice bit of promotion leading up to that one, with plenty of previews and even a novelization of the events leading up to the assault itself.
The masters for June's armed astronauts went back for production yesterday. This pic shows the height compared to the previous Astronauts (third from left).
A rather cryptic / confusing post from their Facebook account: "Arse! I have managed to delete the Danger 5 trailer post… Apologies to all the Nazis, Dinosaurs and Nazi Dinosaurs out there who were all wanting to rewatch it."
The super patriotic Albion Rocket Corporation protects the nation and her head of state* even in space and on the moon. With some heavy weaponry. 3 new Astronauts by Ian Mountain. Get the Deal or Single figures – one with a Pistol, one with a Rifle and one with a 'party fun' Rocket Launcher. Serious stuff.
*God save the Queen. With man portable high explosive rockets.
Sadly, the multiple view option is not available as of right now.
Also: June's Deal of the Month is the Frightening Scary Statue for only £2. That is WAY less than half price – buy one, buy loads! Get Stoned!
From the Crooked forums, what we can expect in July: "Release Nine will be Solomon (Ian's just finished him), Kali and the Daughters of SHIVA - already seen."
"Crooked Dice North is off on holiday 9th-16th June, somewhere remote, inaccessible and very secret. Order deadline to make sure you get your orders in the post before the Store shuts for a few days is midnight Thursday night (7th/8th). Everything received in the Store after this point will get processed from Monday 18th June."
Okay Crooked dice you have a rather nice sculpt of a certain commander of a 'Shadowy' organisation. Then you release a head of who could be the living embodiment of a certain Lt Ellis(again high up in this shadowy organisation, don't get me started on the shadowy astronauts!).
For the love of all that is holy and right with the world; PLEASE RElEASE HER BODY! Otherwise I'll be forced to post another begging post like this until you do! I might even give you an order if you do!
How's that for incentive?
Are those seperate female heads then the ones painted, or are they the same?
I'm leaning tword getting me a batch of these Shivas, if they have more head options out there. ( I already have the explosive beach balls, and the bikini kill squads... THESE would go great with the Pulp City guys as more bad guy minions.
Those Shiva would be a great bikini death squad starter...then add in a few with a littl more skin, and an explosive vollyball or something.
hmmm.....
They have fembots if that's what you are looking for:

I believe they are the very same as the ones found one of their girly head sprues.
This 179 page PDF by art and paint genius Kevin Dallimore has a mind-boggling 160 pages of floor and wall textures to print out and use to make your own rooms and corridors. Quickly and cheaply build unlimited amounts of spy-fi or modern interiors to get your game on.
Floors come gridded and ungridded, walls come with doors and posters, both have loads of variations. This PDF comes with full instructions on how to make your own 3D rooms. Warning – you may need lots and lots of foamcore!
We should be getting the August newsletter any day now with a few tasty previews of what else to expect from the Crooked chaps. Several Blake's 7 minis were mentioned as coming back in May. So stay tuned!
Upcoming releases: "September will see three new figures sculpted by Ian Mountain: Sir Benton Troad, Samantha Bridge and the mechanical madman Dr Ulysses Argo! And to accompany the mad doctor, we’ll see two Argonauts and Talos lumbering onto your table top in October courtesy of Jo Brumby. And finally in sad news, the deadly Kali has been put on hold. We will revisit her at a later date."
Bits of info dropped: "We have plans for the following PDF and/or print releases up to Summer 2013, some or all of which may be delayed, mutated or eaten by a hungry Envoy: 7TV Programme Guide Volume 2, stop motion ancient action with 7th Voyage, For Ghouls and Colleges – a potential 7ombieTV supplement, and Tales of the Unexplained, the weird and magical 7TV supplement"
Pity about the Kali delay, but chuffed to soon be able to get me some Argonauts. Also, really happy with possible future 7ombieTV expansions.
For those lucky buggers going to Salute 2013, from the Crooked Facebook: "You'll have even more choice of games including 7ombieTV and a new spin-off game..."
"September releases from Ian Mountain. Sir Benton Troad, (his assistant and all round good egg) Bambi Gasgoine and the deranged genius Dr Ulysses Argo."

Our Programme Guides will detail one 7TV cast in serious detail. The Department operates in secret, staffed by spies, oddballs and geniuses. They tackle all kinds of weird and unexplained cases, and now you can join them on the table. 42 pages of PDF with on and off-screen histories, background, locations and full stats for all the Department's notable staff. This PDF also includes an episode and 3 unique Department X Event Cards. Click the link below to go to the Store and join the greatest force for good in 'modern' England.
From the Crooked facebook page: "Final touches are being made to the SHIVA Programme Guide, so probably out next week."
They also revealed the following: "We will combine the casts into two volumes - Heroes and Villains - each containing three casts one of which will be exclusive to the print volume. Heroes will hopefully be out Jan/Feb 2013 and include Department X, The Man From 2000 and The Beat. Villains will be launched at Salute and will include SHIVA, The Argonauts and United Radionics. There are discount vouchers in the PDF volumes that you can credit against the print versions too as a thank you to those who purchased them in advance."
And here's the September releases, two of which are inspired by the Prisoner, not sure about the mad scientist though:
(Sir) Benton Troad is the head of Project Time Lift, a government bureaucrat with many years experience. He is mainly responsible for keeping within the budget, and making sure things get done and people stay motivated. The appearance of the Man from 2000 keeps his assistant Miss Bambi Gascoigne busy as she logs every scrap of information the normally laconic Darius inadvertently lets slip about the future. Bambi also tries her best to keep Sir Benton out of trouble when he meddles in field affairs.
Argo's past is know only to a few but he made his name as a scientific genius specialising in robotics. Now he has turned his immense talents to the pursuit of wealth and ultimately power. The ultimate narcissist, he uses his self built mechanoid giants called Argonauts to commit criminal acts on an epic scale. Argo has harnessed the power of lightning with his shock gauntlets, making him dangerous to those who get too close.
Our second Programme Guide is out! SHIVA believes in evil in all its forms, striking from hidden locations across the world. The many deadly minions of SHIVA obey the will of the Guru without question, so beware! 42 pages of PDF detailing the episodes, behind the scenes & on-screen history, personalities weapons and equipment of SHIVA. From The Guru to the crazed Thuggees, get the stats you need as well as unique Event Cards and a new episode.
From the Crooked Facebook page: "Today shall be known as Green Tuesday. We've received loads of updates on upcoming figures from various sculptors today: Future Freedom Fighter 2; Talos and Argonauts; and some more Minions with pistols and batons. You'll have to wait for piccies though! Mwah-ha-ha!!!!!!"
This means we can soon expect more Blake's 7 mini's, robots and new minions!
Avon would be the obvious second choice, although Jenna would be very appealing to me as the next release. Hope they publish a picture soon - although I am work-blocked so can't get onto FB to look for them as soon as they come out.
Recap: Two future freedom fighters (Blake's 7) are coming soon: Jor Drake and Golan Nag, curling tongs not included. (See newsletter for greens)
New security guards with pistols and batons! (See newsletter for greens)
And before X-mas we'll see the rise of both the Argonauts and Talos! (See newsletter for greens)
Following up on the Department X and S.H.I.V.A. program guides will be the Man from 2000 and the Argonauts program guides, these will hit us in a few months. The final print versions of each side will contain the Beat and United Radionics.
The 7th Voyage spin-off game is now being playtested thoroughly.
Finally, the Crooked website will see a revamp soon.
The guy on the left is "Jor Drake", the one on the right is "Golan Nag"
OK, that's "Roj Blake" and "Olag Gan" if you wanted the names of characters from "Blake's 7".
And there was a rather funny system in place for the crew of the Liberator. Most of the men were known by their surnames, whilst the women were known by their given names.
"Roj BLAKE"
"Kerr AVON"
"Olag GAN"
"JENNA Stannis"
I can't remember if we ever heard Cally's other name.
The exception to this rule was "VILLA Restal", the male lockpick/thief character.
It's unclear if Blake dies at the end of season 2 (The interstellar war) or not, but the sightings of him from then on may, or may not, have been faked. Certainly Servalan tries that trick during the final 2 seasons, but there are ways in which the final episode may also have been completely Blake-less.
Avon's a future addition, all in due time as they say. Chances are they will release him to coincide with the Man From 2000 program guide further down the road.
"We have splashed out and got new 7TV and 7ombieTV dice. Each set has 3 x 16mm dice with recessed spots on the 1 thru 5 faces, and printing on the 6 face:
The 7TV set comes in red, white & blue D6, with the 7TV logo on the 6 face.
They also have a new monthly deal up: "October's Deal of the Month is 6 Federated Security, Winterly, Travers plus both new Future Freedom Fighters for £22. Check it out on the homepage: http://www.crooked-dice.co.uk/"
For those work-blocked or too lazy to click it, a fast recap:
Coming soon: The first 7OMBIETV supplement! For Ghouls and Colleges will introduce a new star, the ghoul and cannibal extras!
Coming soon: New minions!
- An animal handler with torch and lead
- A two-man heavy weapons team (with RPG)
- Grenadier
Coming soon: New 70s style coppers!
Both sets will also get a newly sculpt guard dog mini!
December will see the release of the Argonauts and Talos! These may be cast in polyurethane to save on weight.
The new year will bring a new Tweedy and assistant, more policemen, simian soldiers, frogmen and A.R.C. moonbase crew in civvies!
Some of the models mentioned above can be found in the newsletter.
And a special notice for that person that keeps bugging me about handing out the rule PDF's.. The shack from the 7ombieTV rulebook will soon be available to download from the site.
For Ghouls and Colleges brings a UK twist and some minor misdemeanors to 7ombieTV. Play cannibal ghouls such as the twisted Number 11 or two new survivor casts – the Girls of St Searle’s or the vicious Borstal Boys.
Automatically Appended Next Post: For those curious, this book takes the style and setting of 7ombieTV, set in the 1980's America and crosses the Pond to the UK for some silliness there.
This supplement contains the following:
- Two new weapons (Slingshot and hockey stick)
- Four new casts!
- New Ghoul extras.
- Five new episodes (missions).
- A card cut-out double-decker bus.
- Four new event cards specifically made for the new casts.
- New spawn cards for use with the episodes.
- And all the thickly laid on fluff you've come to love and expect from the creators!
The new casts are:
- Generic ghouls, humans with a hankering for human flesh.
- The Girls of St. Earle's, a private school for girls.
- The Borstal Boys, the juvenile inmates of a youth institution.
- The Number 11, an armoured double-decker bus full of ghouls.
For the work blocked and those too lazy, a short recap:
Nine new minis!
- New 7ombieTV character: Misty! A girl outfitted in a school uniform and armed with a hockey stick.
- A two-man minion bazooka team, one handling the launcher, another ready with a rocket.
- A mixed set containing a grenadier (as in, a minion with hand grenades) and a dog handler with flashlight and a dog.
- Three London coppers.
- A pack of guard dogs on their own.
Previews.
- Painted Argonauts and Talos are shown off, nice big models they turned out to be!
- Two tough police detectives are on the workbench now
- As are four simian soldiers
- Finally, the Man In The Leaded Suit is also getting a mini next year!
A new monthly deal: WPC Pond and three Scary Statues (One pointing, two scary) for eight Pounds.
Other news:
- Both chaps will attend Crisis at Antwerp this weekend and Graeme will be attending Targe, at Kirriemuir the 10th of November. They have also been booked up for Cavalier, Overlord, Skirmish, Salute and Broadside come 2013.
Automatically Appended Next Post: From the Crooked site, pictures of the new minis:
Can't comment on Killer B's or RAFM, but I do have a pack of Copplestone's secret agents and they size up nicely with minis from Crooked Dice, Hasslefree and Andrew Rae's excellent ranges.
Top BAD news is that due to Graeme having a bit of idiot confusion, Crooked Dice will NOT be trading at this year’s Targe show in Kirriemuir, on Saturday 10th November. Neverthless, if you’re thinking about going, go.
And finally..
Also, one of the Crisis guys (hi Ruud!) pointed out that I promised him 7ombieTV free downloads, and that there were in fact none. That’s fixed – check out the bottom of the 7ombieTV Page for tokens, cards, templates and the whole DIY cabin in the woods in PDF.
Today is the start of our Crooked Christmas Cracker promotion. From 1st-7th December we are offering 25% off all our products when you spend £40 or more. Simply enter the code DEC25OFF492 when you get to the cart.
And I really hope this is not just the set-up for an early "April Fool", but
Crooked Dice wrote:April will bring five more future freedom fighters to liberate your tabletops (although one of them is a box), just in time for Salute!
So it looks like April will be quite a month for me. I will have to get a move on with the models from that range I already have!
Project Time Lift is the semi-official research project working on bringing objects forwards in time. Darius, the Man From 2000 was brought back in time in an accident, and now the organisation is at the forefront of temporal investigation.

From Darius to the Project’s Temps, get the stats you need as well as unique Event and Gadget Cards and a new episode. Cover finished for 'The Man From 2000' Programme Guide tonight. Doors and Swirls and Dinosaurs. Oh my!
Pity, was hoping for a "The Beat" guide myself.
Fear not. I am currently working on The Beat's programme guide, which will form part of the Heroes Programme Guide release this spring. Cops, robbers, car cases and cardboard boxes aplenty.

"They reckon you've got concussion, but I couldn't give a tart's furry cup if half your brains have fallen out. Don't EVER waltz into my kingdom acting king of the jungle."
Yes! !! Now they need to do there two DC companions.

Salute in particular will be exciting as there will be five quick-play games: Three for 7TV, one for 7ombieTV and the 7th Voyage!

Crack open the party seven! Am looking thru Helena's amazingly good draft of 'The Beat', for the inclusion in the Heroic Programme Guide once we've dragged it down to a cell and knocked it about a bit. How was this series never made? You're all going to love it. G@CD
Grab four savage Simian Minions straight from the labs of mad geneticist Professor Andros (The Man From 2000: The Year of the Monkey). Mark Evans has sculpted these horrific hybrids; two armed with rifles, one with baton and one wielding a sinister man-catcher. Each different pose comes with a separate head. £11 for the 4 model deal or £3.25 each.
Also, from the Crooked Facebook: SCUBA Divers by Ian Mountain — March 2013 Releases
And you even get a left-handed SCUBA diver. Shame you missed the trick to make a simian soldier a 'south-paw'. Still, plenty of time to do one for the next batch, eh!
The Serious Crimes Unit, popularly known among law-abiding citizens and villains alike as the Beat, is a specialist branch of London’s Metropolitan Police. Its operational remit is the prevention and investigation of armed or dangerous crimes across the capital and beyond.

It should go without saying that Life on Mars fans will enjoy this guide in particular! But people looking to field a force of plods, plonks and whatnots in a more normal setting using the 7TV setting will also be very happy.
Big yes to that! Not only are they launching a new line (7th Voyage) but if all goes well, the print version of their program guide should also be on sale by then.
BrookM wrote: As I say every year now since I've discovered Crooked Dice: I wish I could see them in person!

I know I will be hovering their books up like no bodies business if they don't sell out too quickly like last year.
Yes, I made a serious mistake to not buy the 7TV book when it was launched at Salute a couple of years ago. I was forced to buy it only a few months later at the non-sale price.

Padre wrote: Gawd, they even got Avon's signature hand gesture right...
He needs a different gun though, more the "blaster" that he used later in the series from Scorpio onwards, seen in the bottom picture...
Okay, now I'm showing my age...
Sorry, no prize for you. The gun in the bottom picture is a Federation handgun, which Avon only used in the last part of the Episode "Terminal" (possibly) and the first episode of the 4th (Final) season. The Crooked Dice models are all correctly wearing the Liberator handguns as seen in the first 3 seasons. By the time Avon used the gun you showed, Olag Gan was dead, and Jenna Stannis and Roj Blake had disappeared. The gun he used throughout the 4th season looked more like this:
Andrew May has just finished the greens for three time lost travellers: Eliza, Victorian Samurai; Sachs - a mutated manservant; and Genevieve - a martial maid. Eliza and Sachs come with human head on the tab PLUS an alternate Saurian or Toad-face head for variety. Went to Griffin for mastering today and due out early next month.
Recap for those work-blocked or too lazy:
- The trio of Victorian minis shown above are now on sale
- Four more Blake's 7 mini greens have been previewed
- A new Tweety Mattison is being worked on, alongside an Impossible Girl and a Super-Temp
- September will see more minions with a commander, administrator and heavy machine gun crew
- The next programme guide will be the Argonauts
- A supplement for the 7th Voyage has also been announced: The Labours of Herakles, with rules for creating your own monsters and the amazons
Surely that depends on the mark of Transit? I would imagine a more modern Transit being a beffer fit for TMM than the older marks with the wings higher than the bonnet and the lights flat to the front.
Still, could be very useful. Early mark 1 Transit and an earlier time travel operative (Complete with ? handled umbrella) would be something I would love to see.
And I am also stoked to see some Federated Security additions too. The commander, females, and that funky robot are just what I need to round out a small section I have.
Yeah... I've got all the Federated stuff so far so I'm going to pick up the new models at some point, should give me a decent little force to go up against either the Future Freedom Fighters or even ~Spectrum.
In short:
- Coming soon: new robotic minions
- Coming soon: Two more future freedom fighters (Blake's 7 minis)
- Coming soon: New Kali and Guru miniatures
- Coming soon: 7th Voyage supplement Myths and Monsters
Also..
- United Radionics programme guide is in the works
- The Villains programme guide will be released in October
7ombieTV will see a supplement later this year called Vlad's Army, which adds vampires to the undead mix with scenes set in World War II, Cold War China and a Dystopian Future.
United Radionics presents a carefully crafted public persona of a forward thinking global corporation. In reality it is involved in multiple underhand operations, from creating artificial foodstuffs from toxic waste to advanced learning machines using discredited Soviet brainwashing technology. Get the dossier containing the history, current operations, personnel and tactics of United Radionics in our 54 page PDF, which also contains a £2 off voucher useable towards the print version of the Villainous Programme Guide.
I'll wait till they're given a paint job before passing judgement, but as they are the level of detail looks a bit iffy, or rather there isn't much definition to it. Still, an alternative Guru pose and a sculpt for Kali are no problem, and its always nice to see something new from Crooked Dice.
Now where's my damn Nazi Zombie Vampire expansion?
Good grief. Almost finished sculpts of 7 St Searles zombie hunting school girls. One Ace character, plus three each fourth formers with catapults and sixth formers with hockey sticks. Absolutely brilliant. You WILL have a happy halloween.
^^ I seen your post about Vlad's Army (catchy title). December seems a bit late to be releasing a Halloween supplement, but then again its only really a week or so following the event. At least however my regular opponent's gotten a hold of some Secrets of the Third Reich and Hasslefree Nazi zombie miniatures that'll work quite nicely with the theme.
Hmn, now to beg for a Mad Max style zombie expansion just so I can use some of my new models. =)
I've seen the crew at many a show, but always seem to forgot to strike up some conversation with them. Though it has been pandered about that those that play the game at my club organise a participating game for the Falkirk show, can't let the Infinity players keep getting all the awards (he gloats).
November will see our lone zombie hunter Misty joined by seven new classmates from that last bastion of hope against the zombie apocalypse - St Searle's Foundation for Young Women.
Beautifully sculpted by Neil Mckenzie, we have three feral Fourth formers including 'scweamer' Violent Elizabeth and four Sixth Formers, such as hockey captain Jackie and new girl Dorothy. These should be in store from 01 November and hopefully with me at Crisis.
Fourth Former with catapult, Fourth Former with attitude and Violent Elizabeth.
Jackie, Hockey Captain.
Sixth Former bookworm, Sixth Former Glamourpuss and Dorothy
The latest edition of the Crooked Dice newsletter is out. Without tearing apart the .pdf (and if you really care about the images just look at the that) the upcoming releases are as follows:
The Hands of S.H.I.V.A. Alongside our monthly releases, we're also hoping to address some gaps in the core casts from the Programme Guides. First off are S.H.I.V.A. with 15 new pieces being sculpted by Andrew May. These include the remaining Co Stars, some, Thuggee, new Daughters of SHIVA and a completely new 80mm model... the Destroyer
7TV: Villains Programme Guide Find out more about three of 7TV‘s most popular shows in this 124 page sourcebook. Inside you’ll find full backgrounds, stats, casts, locations, gadgets, vehicles, weapons and events for The Argonauts, S.H.I.V.A. and United Radionics. If you have purchased any of the previous PDFs, don’t forget to use your discount code(s) during checkout. If you present all 3 codes, we’ll email you the link for the combined PDF free! Remember it's a manual email, so please allow us some time!
7th Voyage: Myths & Monsters Our next 7th Voyage supplement is now available in PDF and in print. Concentrating on two of the greatest stories of Ancient Greece, that of Herakles’ Twelve Labours and Odysseus’ struggle to return home, it provides new rules and campaigns based on these epics.
Doctor Who Miniature Game It's been a while since we've released anything for DWMG, but we've dusted off our award winning 2011 participation game Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Daleks into a new free supplement with all the swanky handouts and rules you need to play
Unfortunately the 7ombieTv expansion has been delayed, but "its coming". ^^'
I questioned about it on one of their facebook subpages. There's only two of them and a few others that all work part time, so this other month's releases have delayed it. I guess I can't feel bad about any set backs considering the size of the company really, though it would have been nice to have had it available for Halloween. Guess I'll be recreating Dead Snow instead. =P
Presumably, at least that was what was alluded to in the comments section. If they're already sculpted then there's no use in holding them back until the new year (well unless they have a really big Christmas related release).
You'll have to look at the .pdf for images (once again I can't be bothered tearing it up). But anyhow, the news.
7TV Upcoming models:
Starter Sets!
Blake 7 inspired Federal Security Guards
Five ARC Moonbase crew members
New Daughters of SHIVA
Department X is to receive a cast next
Come March "The Beat" will also be getting models
7ombieTV:
Vlad's Army We've finished writing a new supplement for 7ombieTV expanding the horror genre to cover everybody's favourite fanged fiends - the vampire. We chart their secret history through the ages as they clash with the military during the confusion and bloodshed of war. This bloodsucking expansion covers new vampire and military archetypes and the brave vampire hunter. Plus we have three new scenarios pitting military casts against vampires in very different wartime settings, followed by a three-part campaign reproducing the classic Tea-Time Thriller serial Vlad’s Army, complete with unique casts and special rules. Out in the spring.
Otherworld Fantasy Skirmish
Final layout is complete on this 124 page retro RPG inspired rulebook. It's packed with over 70 profiles, rules for dungeon exploring, magic items and spells and includes glorious art from Dave Needham, Paul Gallagher and photos by Key Dallimore. The Otherworld lads are just preparing the crowdfunding campaign which is hoped to launch in the next few weeks.
Hmn, I may need to sift out some of my White Wolf books for that 7ombieTv expansion...
Ah, but as has been proven, I'm just fantastic with catchy titles...
Yes, it is rather. I guess them being a bit of an indie company its a given, but I do feel that they've been neglecting that expansion rules wise a little (though by that I mean they haven't release an update in a few months, which compared to other companies isn't too bad). Still, yes, it would have been nice to have had it out for Halloween, or Christmas, which would have been an excuse to theme games somewhat, but I suppose "it'll be done when its done" doesn't irk me all that much.
Life on Mars is friggin awsome. If you can get Chris and Ray, we're going to go in and roll with that lot. Get me about ten of the rank and file coppers, and we're really going to have some fun.
(Whoever that Clownshoes was that made that U.S.version needs to be curbstomped.)
Second was the Girls school irregulars. Those are awsome. I'll be gathering up a few of those, as well.
I gathered up a Carl Kolchak figure, finally. He's got his camera, and I ended up arming him with a revolver. ( Baseball bat might be a little overboard with the camera in the way.)
Any way you could pop out a Z files not Mulder and Sculley?
Well here's Crooked Dice's facebook page, and the 7Tv community page that they frequent. They're pretty good at communicating, so you could always bounce the idea of them.
Uh, work on the new boxsets continues. A picture of Kev ...taking a picture for the Shiva one. Hey I think its rather nice to see some behind the scenes shots. Goodness that's a small studio.
Heh, or I'm just on their facebook page and have nothing better to do at that time in the morning than repost their crap here.
...Wait, that does sound rather like the main qualifier for keeping one of these threads up to date. ^^'
*Edit
Eugh, this is becoming a bad habit. Here's the promotional shot that the previous one resulted in. Are those Sinbad esque models from their 7Th Voyage line?
I am serious though, I hardly have the time these days to get really stuck in and I'd rather see someone passionate about it continue sharing the Crooked news instead of some humourless jerk.
Well, though I do keep this thread updated, actually putting my name to it would actually thrust the responsibility on me. Which is to say, yeah whatever.
Oh that's fair, though would you rather we waited ten days until the new year to create the new thread, or just send one of the mods a pm to do it now? Best that I wait until Crooked Dice make another update and then send you a PM so that the thread has some actual content (with waiting until that update actually contains some decent content to add a bit of beef to the new thread's first post). Over thinking.
Though in doing this I will have to demand six healthy sheep or your first born son as payment of service.
Hmn, I suppose the title of this thread may need to be changes to Crooked Dice/ Ocelot Games new releases, as the latter seems to be using them as a distributor. Anyway, Crooked Dice re-posted this on their facebook page on behalf of Ocelot Games.
Coming in 2014: not one, not two, not three, but four new Grandville Miniatures!
Sculpted by Andrew May, we present nasty-piece-of-work Mad Dog Mastock and three armed killers in stylish long coats.
All models come with separate heads, to give you more opportunities to pose your Grandvillains as you wish, or even to swap heads around.
Nor am I ( I may have been a little bit sick in my mouth when I seen that badger in a dress), but I suppose it must appeal to someone and is at least light hearted.
