EDIT: THE RP THREAD IS UP! WHOOO!

Baked is a post apocalyptic RPG set in, you guessed it, Post apocalyptic North America. (specifically the areas around South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.) However, the world has not been nuked or over run by zombies.

In late 2012 a massive solar flare from the sun has hit the earth, causing all electronics to cease functioning. This has also affected the nuclear reactors around the world, causing the reactors to melt down and release significant amounts of radiation to be released. This has turned most of the world into an irradiated hellhole, where people are lucky to live to 45, that is if the radiation kills you before the countless bandits, gangs, and cannibals do. While most of the world is like this there are some small pockets of civilization left. These non-irradiated pockets are packed and defended ferociously to prevent anyone from getting in and contaminating the population.

This RPG is set five years after the event. What is left of the United States military is trying to take back key locations from the militias that have now populated them. Since the event the drug trade has thrived, causing drugs and weapons to become the main form of currency for trade.

So thats the setting. Now lets move onto how to post your character!

Name: duh

description: just a description of your character, like his/her age, build, what he/she looks like, etc...

Faction: Im going to let you guys make up what faction your character is a part of. It could be a member of a gang, drug dealer, soldier, etc. Just something that would fit into the post apocalyptic setting.

Bio: describe your characters background.

That should do it. Just keep in mind that this is my first time actually posting an RPG here. Have fun!

Name: He dosent really have a name anymore. He just goes by 'Stranger'

Description: A average height 19 year old male with brown hair and brown eyes. He wears an old olive drab army jacket with a worn out T Shirt underneath, a pair of worn out jeans, and trusty sneakers. Carries a backpack, and an old bolt-action rifle.

Faction: Scavenger

Bio: Stranger lost his parents quickly after the event. Ever since he has been wandering the irradiated countryside, scavenging guns, drugs, medicine, whatever the traders at town need him to get. He isnt opportunistic at others expense and will help others, but he will do what he needs to do to survive.

Name: Although his true name is Charles Harrow, the nickname he commonly uses is 'Sigma'

Description: Harrow is a tall and well built male aged 33 years old. His usual attire is a white shirt, a pair of camouflage trousers, a black bullet-proof vest and large, hard boots. His weapon of choise is his reliable assault rifle, although he carries four combat knives on his belt. Carries night vision goggles and binoculars.

Faction: Bandit.

Bio: Before the event, Harrow was a fairly successful buisnessman in Oxford, who later moved to America to pursue his growing career. It was then the world changed, countless died and the world was thrown into turmoil and chaos. Seeing no other option, alone and in the middle of a desolate wasteland, he grabbed a gun, some knives, and moved off into the world, letting fate guide his life.

Name: Jeff Daze

Description: 6" 5', Large Muscular build, 32 years old, Blonde hair, Blue eyes, Wears military attire though not in the military. Weapons vary as he has many in his secret hideout.

Faction: Peacekeeper

Bio: Former soldier, but when the blast went off he left them behind and went to save his wife and daughter. On the way out of town, the building they were in started collapsing, forcing them to run, only Jeff survived the ordeal. Now he wanders the wasteland, doing right were right is needed, and just trying to survive.

Name: Lilian Lumière

description: 22. Average height and slim build. Long silver hair, green eyes, pale skin. Usually wears a cloak over her normal clothes in order to protect herself from the sun and hide slightly from others. Armed with a rapier. Carries some first aid supplies.

Faction: Wanderer

Bio: Prior to the world's end she was already somewhat ridiculed by others within the neighbourhood, both for her unusual appearance and for her unusual seeming parents. Her father, a weapon designer, had always been paranoid in a way; making Lilian pick up the art of swordplay at the young age of six. In the few years preceding the event he had taken up to creating a bunker under their house. He had been fired from his job and had ended up spending the entirety of their family's savings on the idea. Her mother, a doctor, had left him around the time he lost his job. She had hoped Lilian would follow her footsteps and thus had been teaching her a bit on the side. These troubles would of course be nothing compared to those to come with the flare. Feeling sorry for her dad, alone in the world with just him, his bunker and barely his mind, she had visited him; it was his birthday after all. Her mother had refused to come along, Lilian would always remember the last words her mother ever said; they weren't pleasant in the slightest. Then as they sat in the dilapidated house over the cake she had brought it happened. Her dad grabbed her and took her down to the bunker. There they would stay and wait out the worst of it.

Later when the supplies began to run low it came time to open their tomb and attempt to get by in the new world. Seemingly a mistake as it didn't take long for them to gain attention. Eventually bandits would raid their bunker and take everything, including her father's life and Lilian herself. One thing they may have regretted taking though would be the present her father had intended to give her; a high quality rapier with the words "la lumière de piqûre" engraved on the guard. When given the change she plunged it deep into the chests of her captors and ran and has continued to for the last few months. Occasionally she'll stop at a settlement and help them with her medical knowledge, but she never stays long. She has no reason to, nor really any reason to do anything but wander.

Description: Tall and well built. Typical dress consists of a black shirt, a bulletproof vest, black trousers, and combat boots. Carries an M110 sniper rifle in a sling over his arm and a bowie knife in a sheath on his hip.

Faction: Assassin/bounty hunter

Bio: Michael Prespin is a former US army sniper. When the flare hit, he deserted and took his rifle with him. He quickly put his skills to work as a bounty hunter and assassin, soon gaining a reputation as a merciless and indiscriminate killer who will take out anyone in exchange for some food, water, and ammo.

Again thank you guys for the characters. I just wanted to post a few ground rules. Nothing Major though. And if you think these needed to be changed or we need to add some just post ones that you would like here.

POST ORDER: Im not gonna do that. But just keep in mind to give other people a chance to post.

COMBAT BETWEEN CHARACTERS: I really don't have a major rule for this. Just dont kill someone elses character unless they give you permission to do so.

Thats pretty much it.

I like where this RP is going. Im going to try to introduce conflict in the form of the military though. Just to keep things interesting.

I find it funny, that everyone's timezone is different from mine, I go to sleep, and two pages pop up.

Name: Alexander "Bones" West

Description: 23 year old male,strong but slim build, Lighty tanned(maybe Spainish decent, ligh scars across face and hands, wears military issue DPMs (forest) with a hood, black combat boots and a small white scarf wraped around his left wrist (has the word LISA woven in black). Has a variety of holstered weapons (.44 Magnum, 2x 8 shot revolvers and a 9mm Pistol), with a single sheathed blade on this waist.

Faction: N/A, he usually travels alone

Bio: Former soldier, Bones was in his home when the flare went off, him and his wife tried to survive as best as possible, until that fateful when his home was raided by bandits.

Name: Dronan Smith

Description: A 34-year-old man whose wife died in the apocalypse and who is struggling to look after his young son. He has dark hair, green eyes and is 5'11".

Faction: As close to a civilian as is possible after the apocalypse, part of one of the safe parts of America and often having to help defend against unwelcome visitors.

Bio: Once a gun-shop owner, he was lucky to be in a safe area when the apocalypse happened, and even then only survived by having a shotgun, uzi, glock and selection of grenades with him at all times for all eventualities. He took to never letting his son out of his sight once his wife was killed by a stranger, who was soon shot dead. He simply aims to keep his family as happy as possible, whatever it takes. He has a motorbike which he can use in desperate circumstaces, but due to a lack of fuel he is saving this for when there is no other hope of survival.

Also, I'm not sure what to post to start off. I'm basically on my own doing all the stuff I do, until something happens I suppose...
Also, probably won't post until tomorrow. Although I will try.

Sorry to spoil the party, but most RPs seem to be moving to the penthouse (see the link in my sig.) so do you want to move this one there? It's set up for running RPs unlike dakka, so in many ways it's better.

Bio: Dons parents were at the observatory when the flare occured, they promptly resorted to the bottle and to mainstream drug use shortly after, raising Don in a fairly callous manner. The laws fell, and Don grew up with the keys to power, the knowledge of drugs. He was soon sold as a slave to the dealers, and learnt how to manipulate and addict people. However, he also learnt the dangers of addicts. The dealers who bought him were shot dead by a group of addicts. Don promptly moved on and found himself scavenging.

Faction: Rogue Sniper

Bio: Back before the Solar Flare destroyed everything that we used to take for granted Aaron was killing targets of value for the U.S. Government as a USMC scout sniper. But in the time following the great disaster Aaron has lived off whatever meager resources he could scrounge or kill for.
