Hi everybody, so this is my first proper post, YAY. I'm doing this to keep me going with this project and i would really appreciate all feedback, especially criticisms I'm trying to improve my painting skills so any tips would be helpful .

So yeah this is my renegade guardsmen army, the basic fluff is a tech priest has turned to chaos (nurgle especially) in an attempt to preserve his precious machines. having being corrupted by chaos he has used his position of power on the forge world, Ryankor to taint the population. so now he travels the universe with his army of followers to find more ancient lore to protect his machines.

At the moment i have a command squad, one squad half painted and a sentinel, I also have a forge world command squad and normal squad on the way from eBay

So here is what i have painted so far, in the future i intend to post some pics of models before i paint them because I'm also practicing my green stuff work and would love some tips and such. i have gone for a dirty white and dirty metal colour scheme.

These are excellent. A real dynamic look you've achieved for your Sentinel too.

Right, well there has been a distinct lack of updates as my laptop decided it would be fun to completely die, so I've spent the last few days Computerless or re installing everything i own.. yay -.-

well anyway I have got some new friends to show you , no new painted but lots of awesome forgeworld stuff, and a few conversions I'm pleased with enjoyyyyy

Hi, so I was inspired by all the awesome versions on here and in this months white dwarf to get a plastic nurgle lord and have a stab at it so here is my version. I'm using him as a servitor in my command squad.

Another update

So i had planned to save the chimera as a little reward after painting all my infantry...but it turns out i have no self control when it comes to warhammer so enjoy

I also painted a test model for the forge world infantry, still not entirely sure about the mask, so any thoughts would be appreciated thanks

Loving the army so far. I think your Nurgle lord to servitor conversion is pretty nice, didn't you find it hard to convert such a lovely miniature? The command banner is nice aswell, where'd it come from?

Another quick update painted up another two renegades, went for a splinter cell ish look on the crouching guy and gave the other my basic look, I'm pretty happy with the colour scheme but any thoughts are appreciated

Well time for another update painted up another 2 basic troopers, and then my enforcer because i mean who doesn't want a guy that makes commissars look like guidance councilors ha

real nice work. I like the colors you decided to go with. Ive never really been a fan of IG, but the possiblity of a renegade force has always intrigued me and I like to see how creative hobbyists can become. I agree with other posters, I get an overall mechanized feel from this army. I like it. I really like your sentinel, the bases are also done well and compliment the look of the sqds.....looking foward to seeing more progress!

Well before uni fees get a chance to bankrupt me, it seems I'll do it myself :p just bought some heavy weapons team, fancy bases and a manticore/ deathstrike launcher on eBay , I'm also trying to get my hands on another sentinel I've also finally got myself an army case with foam so no more biscuit tins for me but yeah look forward to those things coming soon .. to a P&M Blog near you .. (sorry i had to ) anyway I'm gonna go cry over how much i spent, even though i did save a lot ha see you later dakka

Right so an update i got my army case its a KR multicase really great, affordable and good quality, i wont bother with a pic unless anybody has a burning desire to see what is essentially a fancy cardboard box :p ha.


I'm also working on a chimera conversion, i want an open topped one so i intend to leave off the top hull piece and put some stuff in the back

then I've made a turret that will go in the turret hole that is usually covered by the top hull piece, this is very much WIP and i'd appreciate any input

Now all i need to do is get a chimera chassis sprue, I've found a good bitz site for the uk http://letthedicedecide.netdirector.co.uk/ but they are out of stock atm so I will have to wait, but when i get my deathstrike I'll probably make a mock up

Hey, me again. Loving your enforcer, and your Chimera turret. I love how the ammo feed drapes across the tank hull, it really gives it a ramshackle appearance. The way your miniatures interact with the terrain is great too, I love the heavy weapons team taking cover amongst the ruins, it makes them seem like they're lying in wait.

The speed you're churning out models has left me lost for words however. I just don't understand!

haha yeah this is the benefit of being off over summer waiting to start uni only downside is its burning a hole in my wallet ha on a similar note got some heavy weapons team today so working on them expecting pics by tomorrow

..the fat servitor in the heavy weapons team is cool. I like the feel of this army and the pale cream colour scheme. The enforcer is particularly effective with his black jacket. Oh and maybe you'll get the interest back in the Nurgle Marines as a small allied contingent for your guard.

Oh I like the head you have chosen for Mr Nurgle Lord.

Good luck at Uni...my little plastic men ended up in a cupboard for four years...girls were much more interesting

The flesh tones on the vet are perfect. Great looking models.

Although I would maybe consider some rust effect on the metal/silver parts, just to break it up a bit (especially the backpacks). Not sure if it really needs it to be perfectly honest, but something to consider perhaps?

So a quick update, turns out bases have just dispatched so has sentinel so heavy weapons can wait, but my manticore came today so here is my mock up of what my chimera will look like when i get another chassis, I'm gonna add some benches and pad it out a bit with plasticard but here is a basic preview enjoy and give me your thoughts on it

Right hey everybody haven't updated for a while been celebrating A level results/ getting into uni then I've been recovering from said celebrations ha

Then I've made some Veterans, I got the idea for flagellant legs from someone on here, but.. i cant remember who :( so if anyone knows please comment so we can give them the credit they deserve, because i think its a pretty cool idea

I've also made a version of sargeant bastonne to lead them.. now i know he is pretty poor in game terms but i just loved the idea of a imperial poster boy who is secretly mental :p so this is my version of him having fell to chaos and madness

ha no you haven't sooo I don't really have a recipe but its a mix of skull white and rotting flesh (no idea what that is in new paints) probably about 4:1 i just play it by ear or the massive mark on my mixing plate :p hope that helps anyways ha

so its been quite a while, getting into the swing of uni, its amazing joined the sci-fi and fantasy society so if any thing my hobby will get more so, ha well anyway back to the renegade fun

so I've made my primaris psyker he is based around a tech priest magos gone wrong kinda thing, pretty pleased with how it turned out, but critiques are appreciated.

also I finally got round to writing my army list and now am in full thing to expand, so I present renegade guardsmen marbo reasonably pleased with this guy but coulda been better me thinks :/ might have to go back and have another stab ha anyway enjoy and as always C&C appreciated (on a further note look forward to more veterans, storm troopers, priest and a leman russ... hopefully if ebay is kind ;P

so painted up the primaris psyker, went for the techpreist look, because in my fluff evil techpriests do magic :p ha no I think of him as a techpriest that fell to chaos along with my commander, maybe one of his underlings, and after being exposed to chaosyness gained psyker abilities.

I like the Chaos symbol at the bottom of the coat, but it could perhaps do with being more pronounced, having the circle in the corner as well.

That psyker looks amazing badger! Really great job there, very creepy looking! As for the DKOK conversions, It does feel very wrong at first cutting them up but you soon get into the swing of it! soon you'll find yourself lopping off heads and adding all sorts of chaosy bits! (incidently I think your test looks really nice.) I may have to borrow your idea for the inside of the greatcoats, wish I'd thought of that!

Hola everybody, been quite some time damned essays

So I've been working on a fair bit, Leman Russ near enough done, needs tracks and other options painting.

First DKoK done, what do folk think? I'm pleased with it all the others are built now.

Got some vostryan snipers to start on a special weapons squad. they are super cool models, I've cut of the moustachey head and I'm gonna use it to make some imperial chap, fancied making some inquisitor shizzle for a while...

Also ive converted one of my command servitors that had been bumped out of the squad into a master of the ordnance.

I love the bounty Hunter, he's particularly sinister. Curious how much work he gets when blind, but he certainly looks the part.

Tell me, when you made him was it a bitch to find a right arm that was the same size as his left? I did, I ended up using an Uruk Shamen arm, as it was the only scale that seemed to work!

First finished chenkov and the priest, pleased with both of em chenkovs nurgling is just adorable Also have the first Rat conscript painted

Then there is the new toys my lovely girlfriend bought me a basilisk then the hell hound and the demolisher/punisher/executionor may have fell into my ebay basket hahah


Sooooooo i may have started dark eldar me and my friend have entered a deal of buying new things together building a new army at the same time (he chose necrons ). So dont worry guard ain't dead but may recieve less love for a while. I'm gonna start a new blog for the Dark Eldar so keep your eyes open

I've said it before, I'll say it again, I love Festus! And the forgeworld Hellhound Kit is so nice, I really prefer the giant prometheum tank over the smaller ones in the GW kit. Only thing is the bolted on metal plate. What reason do you have behind it at the moment? Isn't it blocking the viewing port?

Soooooo been a while my lovely Dakka

So first year of uni was awesome and this plog that started roughly a year ago *just checked literally a day of being a year exactly * ( and now has its 100th post wooo haha) is back

After getting side tracked and still being side tracked by pre heresy white scars, Dark eldar, InQ 28 thingy and bolt action I feel the Filthy Renegade guard need some love so what better way than with an armies on parade board

So basically my plan is The traitor guard going through a ruined manufactoruim sector with a bigg bridge over sludgy sewage. Then we need a centre piece so I can introduce my little baby i got a while back on eBay I call her shooty o3o haha
