I bought the wargames factory shock trooper box,
because they look like killzone troopers, i will make a few squads of them, as i have lots of things i am working on, i will not update this often
I have exactly those guys but I use all the cadian arms and normal lasguns etc, as well as some of the pig iron heads! I love em, and so cheap, although I could only make the right quantity of them from years of buying normal cadians so GW still got thier pound of flesh!
It's a US based company, don't know how much the delivery costs would be, but I guess on depending how much you order you might be able to lower those costs.
Nice! I too have the Kurganovas, as well as the WGF troopers all painted and ubits with the different heads and one that Vik supplied the heads for. Good choice, nice execution of the Helghast colors
The soldiers are looking pretty good so far and it's always a joy to see unfamiliar and cool looking models. That walker kicks ass!
Are you having any problems with the special weapons conversions like melta or plasma?
I am not Japanese but i live here.
Which conversion do you mean, for what figure?
For your Helghast troops. I recognize those miniatures as the ones one of my FLGS owner has and to add meltas and plasmas I think he either had to do some cutting and GS or replace their arms entirely.
Worked on My Bolt action Russians and they are as good as finished, they only need some touch up's here and there.
And worked a little on the Gallian Tank
I would have made the inside of the mouth reddish, but the armor already is dominating with so much red with silvered chaos trim, very "Word Bearer-esque a DP

Maybe i should make it orange, he really is a Balrog! (My real idea is that,
Spoiler:
the use of the anathema on Argel Tal and Raum, made their Souls merge and one of the many chaos powers elevated them to full demonhood to smite Erebus in the future, because Erebus is not a true follower of chaos, he uses Chaos as a tool for power, and chaos will teach this little mortal his place one day )

I went for nomads mainly because i liked the robots, i will add some from the Haqqislam later (like the look of those).
All according to keikaku.
So you're going for a Black Tri-Stars look on the Zaku Marine, eh? You'll need one with a bazooka and one with an axe/sword out for a proper Jet Stream Attack.

LOL! That may well be the inspiration for the GW Taurox kit!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh yeah, I see you have a Kabuki models mini there, how long do they take to ship after they accept payment? Seems they are slow to me. 6days ago it said payment accepted, no sign the Generals have shipped yet.
Jehan-reznor wrote: I ordered it via a store so it was their problem but it took a while
Took 6 days to hear the order was on the way. Now waiting for the tracking number. Kabuki seems to make good detailed minis, but their customer service, shipping seems slow as molasses uphill

Still quicker than some kickstarters
Not much done, magnetized some of my latest acquisitions anvil industries Afterlife miniatures
Started to pain my mantis boy, here is the progress, Never was a big fan of bright colors so this guys color will be darker than normal Mantis warriors
Jehan-reznor wrote: Those Shock trooper kits is great for conversions and crazy ideas i have i hope they would make more different versions of those.
Well, I used the heads to make different troops, different planets making different filter masks et all.
I just don't like the chtulhu heads, those need a disturbing alien body!
I made a platoon using the bassic helm/mask most liked that resemble Helghast troopers, then i used the armored Mask/Helm for a platoon from a rad/volcanic world, the other platoon got varied heads Vik sent me.
Finally started to work on some miniatures i took back from the Netherlands which i had for years.
They look very retro and have icons on the shoulder that look similar to the Minotaur's icon so i painted them as such.
Before adding Scarlet red
Spoiler:
After adding Scarlet red
Spoiler:
On another note, i bought someone's "All quiet on the martian front" kicktstarter stuff and it looks great starting reading through rules, love the setting.
shasolenzabi wrote: All quiet on the Martian front is set in 15mm, so smaller scale soldiers, but some of the war machine minis are BIG
Yep, will starting to put them together soon, had to find the instructions on the net first, it has been a while since i painted such small miniatures.
And i forgot to mention those Minotaur's are from this company
Oh WOW! I haven't seen those figures since about 1990! I used to have a few back in the day. My dad painted them for me in Legion of the Damned colors. They're from a line called Firefight 2.0
Yeah, the Ion Age one must be careful what scale they order. 28mm is the old Hospitallers, well, maybe 25mm, it was years ago when they first came out.
Stuff i have been working on and i have become a restic knight, i bought someone's kickstarter pledge and got the sedition wars box and a whole lot of extra miniatures, started to clean one of them and it is a biatch to get the flash off any tips? (there was one extra figure made out of resin cleaned and put it together in 20 minutes)
Spend most of the evening cleaning magnetizing and correcting some sedition wars mini's with a sharp knife, green stuff and a hair dryer. I will be joining the hate train on the abomination that is restic, the only sedition mini that was quickly done was the kickstarter exclusive that was done in resin.
The Keegan Kor figure is very good & only 1 of 2 sedition wars figurse I've worked with. He's superior to the aphid frame barker (who became Hansel, a Hannah proxy for my Freikorps crew).I did him up as Riddick as a gift for a marine family member who runs him as señor massacre in infinity.

Started to put together some battlefleet gothic ships i had for a while
Magnetized the cruiser so i can change the set up of the weapons and made a weapon array as they were missing on the sprue
Didn't like the prow on the system monitor, it is like slapped a imperial prow on a chaos escort, so i made my own and put it on.
magnetized bays, and original prow on the system monitor
Spoiler:
Weapons added and different prow on the system monitor
Bought some Yamato 2199 space ships and here they are next to a Battlefleet Gothic cruiser have to weight one down tips over. The ships are about 3 dollars a piece and have great detail.
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
Magnetizing the heavy weapon options on one of the Raging heroes ladies took longer than i expected
ships do look good, been drooling over the 1/1000 scale ones I bought and am contemplating getting along with say one 1/1000 and a couple of the new re-tooled "Mekacore" like those two.
Hobby search has done me well.
The gals also look great!, I do see gaps between the torso and the hips, so some GS sculpting I might do if I get them retail from RH
Started to paint my raging heroes ladies and my BFG ships and started to make this from some left overs.
still need to make the engine part. Prow and weapen bay is magnetized
If you have any chaos smoke launchers they make excellent engines for escort & smaller ships. They can either be left in the 4 pack configuration or split to make 2 sets for maneuvering thrusters for larger craft.
I like the look of those yamato ships. They look like they'd make good eldar & dark eldar cruisers.

Thanks, great idea, now to rummage my bit box
Some work done on the ladies and the Yamato 2199 ship
Put the base color on my gears of war team, the reaper mini marines and more done on the raging heroes squad
And been working on on my Battlefleet Gothic fleet.
shasolenzabi wrote: I need to buy some of the little Selguts so I can paint them in blue/red/camo when I can get the big one, it will be Domelaz-III
You mean the larger scale or in this similar to BFG scale?
The smaller BFG sized for the paint experiments for schemes, but I intend to get a 1/1000 scale one to keep in the colors of General Domel's ship as I already have a S.M.I.T.E. equipped bridge that came with the red carrier. I will keep the bridge saucer for the new kit as the standard design, that will allow the before and after
Went to streetfesta in Namba on Saturday and the JIGG Kobe Boardgame game day but i got some work done on the Battlefleet gothic stuff magnetized more weapon bays and broke a drill in the process, 1 and half cm inside my finger, auch, found an interesting model kit and a new ED209 gashapon figure in Osaka and slightly modified one of Space hulk mini's and started to paint it.
The second hand BFG ships didn't have enough turrets for the lance bays so i rummaged trough my bit box to use some things that can be used as turrets.
How much was it? normally here it is about 300 a 400 yen (3/4 Dollarish)
Yeah a Headswap cut off the skull and replaced it with the Dark Angel Captain head, He is bored because his suit is too damaged and he has too wait for the techmarine to fix it
I still don't get why miniature gaming isn't more popular in Japan. You'd think that the opportunity to build models, paint them, and kitbash them would make it really popular.
I should pick up that Murasame at some point. I still find it amusing that the super cheap non-scale kits are bigger than the expensive scaled ones.
shasolenzabi wrote:I wonder if the Mekakore version of the Murasame is as big as the 1/1000 scale one?
The Yukikaze was definitely a bigger scale than it's 1/1000 scale cousin.
I don't have a clue, i just go for the pretty reason

Because of space constraints, they build the kits make pictures of them and then get rid of them when the new version comes out. I guess they are meant as toys ford kids, less breakage (maybe )
Well, the Mekakore are off scale and have the look of the vessels, the accurate scaled kits they are not selling a single model, but sets, such as the fleet sets, where you get 3-or more modesl for about 30bucks and they are as I have shown, detailed very well, and portray the ships compared to each other accurately
Made an inquisitor from Valkir parts, anvil industries, max mini and forgot the name of the company of the halberd. Used one of the dream forge heads yo make the IMEF reaper figure look like one of the bad guys from killzone 2
The inquisitor from df parts looks great, the backpack looks very chunky (in a good way). Bfg fleets are nice too, always liked bfg but never took the plunge
Magnetized weapon bays (well technically only the ships have magnets and the weapon parts have bend paperclips in them) Left from Battlegroup helios right weapon bay from GW
Spoiler:
Metal Star Wars ship i found a few years back, will use it maybe as an base or capital ship?
Those ships are looking good. Are those from Battlegroup Helios, or are those actual BFG ships? You're kind of inspiring me to paint the handful of ships I've got.
Are those Clearhorizon jeeps the 15mm ones or the 28mm ones? They're neat little vehicles.

Clear Horizon vehicle does look nice, did you go for the 28mm version or the 15mm standard of theirs?
The unpainted one is the Battlegroup Helios one, the painted is the original BFG!
I have the 28 mm one, and i already put one together will post a pic of it later.
yes and my chapterhouse turret fits on it (as do the GW ones but those pesky ammo pieces sticking out)
Progress on my acquired Helios ships, will also add some stripes like the scratch built one.
Spoiler:
Battlefleet gothic ship in the front with battlefleet Helios weapon bays (the one in the back with original someone donated to me at the recent Nagoyahammer event).
My Other Battlefleet gothic ship is as good as done, only need to to do the weapon bays that is why put in some temporary ones. Only need some touch ups here and there.
Spoiler:
Lot of work done on the Warzone jetbikes i got from Miguel, But here is the first one with butchered space marine legs on it
Thanks, those warzone bikes were a pain, they were really badly cast, luckily Space marines are ballet dancers and don't mind spreading their legs so wide
Jehan-reznor wrote: Thanks, those warzone bikes were a pain, they were really badly cast, luckily Space marines are ballet dancers and don't mind spreading their legs so wide
Made them do the split eh?
Yeah, and I have also finished the 2nd Hanomag, and I have decided on a scheme that matches the rest of how I painted the Eisenkern day time troops/Leviathan as they are considered "Elites" amongst the Union's array of troopers.
The ships are coming along really nicely. I'm still not sure how to paint my piddly little BFG ships. Did you just prime black and drybrush grey over them?
Barzam wrote: The ships are coming along really nicely. I'm still not sure how to paint my piddly little BFG ships. Did you just prime black and drybrush grey over them?
Yes grey than white, My original fleet back in the homeland is Drybrushed darkgreen then green with white/gold bows
Barzam wrote: G-Reco kind of sucked, but the designs were fantastic. The Grimoire is a nice kit. You planning on converting it, or just doing a straight build?
I am thinking of converting it to a mechanicus kastelan robot.
Cleaned out some closets and found some stuff i could use for BFG, put in a BFG ship for size comparison.
An internet cookie for people who can name them all
I always enjoy looking at this thread. You seem to frequently pick up some very interesting stuff. It's also kind of nice to see someone working on BFG scaled stuff. I actually came into possession of some Firestorm Armada ships. Do you have an recommendations for how to tackle such intricately detailed little kits?

Haven't bought any one of those yet but they are next on my list
Not much painting been putting together the Horus Heresy Calth guys and magnetizing some of them (terminators and Dready)
Spoiler:
Slapped some more paint on the ClearHorizon scout vehicle, Here with my Infinity Nomad squad
Spoiler:
Had a Battle against Blood Angels, we both used an Imperial Knight, I used the iron hands advantages, and that saved me a few times. Sadly my Buddhist Rhino who survived so much weapon fire in previous games was destroyed in the first turn. His Drop pods rained around me and whittled down my imperial knight to 1 point of health, it still managed to survive 2 more turns and take out most of the guys from the first wave of drop pods, but it was his fresh Imperial knight that did me in. There was a fun moment that his battlecanon templates scattered away from my squad that was under fire straight on his own Psyker and killed him after he just survived a perils from the warp roll
Oh it can be, I figure the Meka-core scale gives ships that are consistent in making them look massive for BFG scale, so the main guns of the Gaiderol would be Macro batteries
Torp heavy as well, the model also has a un mentioned 3 gun spinal battery, could be a "Nova Cannon" o better yet a fixed forwards macro-cannon battery
Barzam wrote: He looks big. How's their quality these days? Seems like they've gotten past some of their previous issues.
He is about the same size as an imperial knight, still some imperfections here the usual resin faults but it is minimal and repairable. for that price i ain't complaining
shasolenzabi wrote: Looking interesting there! Kingdom Death is for the more mature gamer audience methinks, and the Original Galactica and that Sulaco look good
Oh yes, some of the monsters are definitly 18+
Based the Eldar and Ork ships from Forbidden stars and 2 Japanese ships
Broke my 1mm drill and went to Yamada denki to see if they had some alas but i saw they had the new Green Green army 2 after some issues with the gashapon machine i luckily got the 2 i wanted Ma deuce rhinoceros and bombing eagle.
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
and the flyer with all the versions
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
Also put together the next Kingdom death figures the Leather survivors and the hand
Spoiler:
And going through my stuff i found i had these, falchion escort frigates, painted them, only need some detailing and then they are finished
Forbidden stars cruisers almost finished, here is the progress
Spoiler:
And ordered some ships from shapeways, The barge was bigger than i expected and the cruisers smaller than expected, the only gripe is that they came without bases.
Living in Japan it is sometimes hard to get old GW games, but sometimes you strike lucky. I am a member of the Jigg Kansai member group, and one member has a tendency to buy a lot of stuff from kickstarters, new and second hand and then sell it again. So he scooped these games up before i could make an offer. But last week he contacted me on FB and asked if i am still interested in them. Yeaah! so for 6000 yen (about 60 dollars) i bought the lot, Battlefleet gothic, Space marines and Mighty empires. BFG already had the ships built and in configurations i didn't want so i already changed them, Epic Space Marines is the base box bot has some expansions, eldar and orks, Mighty Warriors is the only one which is incomplete missing the dwarf hero and and some imperial infantry.
Fixed the bases on the BFG ships and modified the chaos ships my Yamato 2199 and gundam musai can proxie as carrier ships so i turned my chaos ships into gun boats. Als added some gubbins on the side of my Scratchbuilt ship bridge, so it doesn't looks so bare.
And finished building the Kingdom Death screaming fur survivors.
aku-chan wrote: Good going getting all your survivors assembled. Kept having trouble getting the legs attached on mine, so they're all in the box in bits!
My first battle of BFG in 10 years,700 point cruiser clash with a friend , threw a lot of lucky sixes after a few turns my imperial opponent ships were all crippled, so we stopped when that happened.
Spoiler:
After its glorious victory the musai needed a new paint job
Spoiler:
And started to paint the first batch of Kingdom death survivor & monster
From the guy that i played BFG against last week i acquired some ships an incomplete Battlebarge and a bunch of Chaos cruisers. Those cruisers where made by a guy with no clue about the game most were unusable configurations, and i spilled blood for the chaos gods getting some stuff off.
