Apply a fairly dark brown ink wash. zombie front and center was done with more care and a thinner wash. If you take care the skin can stop here and look good.


Drybrush with Moldy Flesh. I find this easier than being careful with the wash YMMV.


Wash open wounds with Clotted Red 9134, base coat details.
Hair: Stone Grey 9086
Clothing: Harvest Brown 9200
Belts: Chestnut Gold 9073


Give the details depth with washes or drybrushing, personally I drybrushed.
Hair: Weathered Stone 9087
Clothing: orange Brown 9201
Belts: Amber Gold 9032

Hum, nice end result with a quick technique. How long did it take you to paint all those zombies? They look very good (I would add a a green shade tho, just because I like me some rotten zombies )

The armored skeleton looks very cool. Red is always great to add that "Yeah, I am awesome!" flavor.

Well, it depends, there's a lot of unpainted areas in that mini but the colors that do exist look ok: Brown is a neutral-ish color, so I find it usually looks ok with pretty much everything and that dark blue is no exception

Oh and Norman the Dragon looks awesome <3 Beautiful Red Dragon, I hope it's used to kick ass in some RPG sessions.

Hum, and can you finish that "hussy"? I assume she's talking about the girl next to the troll because I'm finding the miniature gorgeous. Is it from Reaper, pathfinder series? I think it's vaguely familiar.

The "hussy" is Seoni the iconic sorcerer from PF along with the red dragon. The demon muse just has a tendency to refer to random females as hussy/strumppet/etc. especially if they are showing significant skin or cleavage. No actual hate or anger is intended.

Also, AAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!! I hate taking pictures! The Marmite crew is a purple not blue.

However traditional dwarves was the one guide I actually had so unlike the autumnal equatorial elves darker skin was NOT approved. Meanwhile the skunk stripe hair, and a tropical flower in her hair may be nixed.

Thanks for the responses! Life has been ... Annoying, recently and the comments mean a lot right now. Don't worry nothing is wrong, enthusiasm, self discipline and time are lacking while tiredness, laziness and Blah. are overflowing.

The shrubbery, Ni!, is meant to be soft scatter terrain for games where density and small pieces are important. Each "clump" of shrubbery, Ni!, is on a slice of 3/4 inch dowel. I probably wouldn't use this shrubbery, Ni!, in KoW or 40k (if I still played) but after a couple good turnouts on Malifaux Tuesdays at Games Plus the lack of small LoS blocking terrain is being felt.

Lead by a mysterious woman known only as "The Daemoness" Ooh, I like. they primarily operate on the svarg end of the sparsely populated fringes of the galaxy. The only other member of note is the bounty hunter "Kh4y0Z" the svarg-er that was lucky enough to retrieve a marooned Moff. Otherwise yet another completely forgettable bounty hunter.
Known assets
2 Decrepit old Zeds modified to carry contraband.
1 Y-Wing in surprisingly good condition considering age and abuse. Torpedo tubes removed for increased bomb capacity. Auto blaster turret locked in forward position.
1 Thrice stolen, mothballed T-65 X-Wing. Upper port cannon prone to overheating / misfiring, port torpedo tube inoperable, targeting computer removed.
1 Excecively gaudy HWK-290 dubbed "Plague Hawk" Kh4y0Z's personal flying wreck "improved" using the payoff from the Moff. Still armed with outmoded blaster turret.
2 Astromech droids with confirmed Droid Rot. Constantly overcharge any engines they are given access to.
1 Dammaged WED-15 repair droid stolen from a GR-75 slated for demolition. Chassi welded shut, memory banks corrupted, data port burnt out.
1 K4 security droid lacking weapon systems.

Threat Analysis: Only to themselves and whatever their flaming wrecks smash into.

I'm glad you like the repaints! They're waaay too much fun to do. The fluff was a small chalange but fun and well worth it I feel. I'm having to trawl through Wookiepiedia to make sure it fits the general cannon while being what I want. I figure if I put the Dead Moon Raiders post Galactic Empire, pre First Order, Post T-70 X-Wing I have a lot of leeway.

As for the other stuff what it is, is I need to bust out the color balanced light, fabric remnants, and proper camera.

Yeah, the Mechanical Rider is a lot of fun in game too but the metal version I have is on one single leg that was twisting every time I used her so she started being left home. As for the Ogrhouls, Tada! Also Han, Chewbacca, Gunslingers, and the Duros twins: Zidid & Nuzur.

Yeah, I'm glad to finally get those dang gunslingers done! On the other hand the undead were quick and easy: Glue> flock> ink wash> glue mini on> done! Also it was only the bone dragon and 20 of the 52 small ones.

On the subject of Star Wars, I'm loving the FF Star Wars minis (ImpA and X-Wing) and creating the DMR. I forgot how much creating fluff was, the Malifaux universe doesn't leave much room for customization.

Bought 2 sense my last update but finished 16, net total towards ImpA core: 14+8= 22 of 42. Over half way there!

Thanks EDC! But I'm guessing the Descent and Abyssals will take me through December, and the DE are only a possibility right now, so you may be waiting a long time.

Looks like you got a metric ton of pewter to be painting. Looks like a real good haul though.

Very clever hiding more DE in there. They can't get past me though. Does seem that a couple of them think that bases are for chumps, they need to be "put in their place". I'm funny I swear.

Yeaaah, thems is smaaall piles. However Oathsworn and Hasslefree both top notch sculpts and casts in my opinion and awesome people so they still count as great hauls.

I'm still debating if you've pushed me into buying new GW for the first time in a couple years.

Failure, finish the FoW stuff & if at all possible the monthly competition, Technical failure, and up to you.
Not happy, but more disappointed than angry.
So the 10th-16th not so good. Hopefully the 17th-24th will be better.

On Monday Vs. Wednesday) Its the principle of the thing!
The Shelf of Pride) It was a spur of the moment idea but I like that its a clearly visible tally and challenge. TBH I could probably fill it 2-3 times over with unpainted stuff I own.
2017) It is going fairly well but sometimes it doesn't feel like it.
WiPs) As i said the painted stuff was 90% but the laaast little bit was still required.

Okay, truth be told, I Svarg-ing hate historicals. They can't follow orders and its a slow grind to finish them. I was so loath to work on themIMPLICATIONS REDACTED. Long, confusing, not relevant, nope.
