I've got a sticky note on my desktop with all my Eldar conversion ideas, most are done but I'm sure I'll think of some more
there are two things on there at the mo, the first is a very loose idea of an Autarch on a jetbike using a vyper frame, not a lot of detail to this yet but I have in mind a big Hog of a bike.
The other is a squad of warp spiders using the Shadow spectres, Until I get the figures I'm not entirely sure what they will be like but as it stands I'll be taking them off of there rocks and I think I'll leave off the flowing ribbons. I'll be swapping the back pack with the spider back pack and changing the end of they're guns. as yet I'm not sure how long the gun will be but I defiantly wont be using the spider gun.
I'm banging out 5 dire avengers I had lying around at the mo.

Just finished an Autarch kit bash.
body is a high elf mage
head, arms and ammo belt is Dire Avenger
Axe head is Wraithblade
Back fins are from guardians
legs are DE
The axe blade is my first attempt at NMM, I like it but it hasn't worked, doesn't look like gold and I'm not sure what I've done wrong.
There seem to be plenty of guides about NMM on armour but I couldn't find any for a flat surface.

Nice Mephistion, very dark! A really good conversion all round, I like the cape on the back, and a good choice of head. The only thing I'm not sure of is the hand. I find it a bit weird that it's not in power armour and it looks like it's the wrong way round with the pistol on top like that. Still, it's a minor point and a badass mini!

master of asgard wrote:Nicely done. The modified shin guard actually make it look much less squat and dumpy. Good improvement on the original model!
It's meant to look squat and dumpy ;P I think it looks good, but a tad top-heavy for my liking. The legs don't look like they'd be able to support the sarcophagus, but I guess that's just the lack of shinpads talking xD Other than that, I love the conversion, it's not much but it still makes the model look cool without going overboard like the Furioso :3 Well done

I like the Jazz hand on the first Wraith knight
71226
Post by: VonKessler
This dreadnought I found in my bits draw. I must have bought it to use the parts for some thing else. I think it was for a scratch built hellbrute. I must have used the shin guards coz that's the only bits that were missing. I needed something on the legs and I don't have many SM bits having only just started. So it was really the BA shoulder pads that would make it look more BA or make some thing out of plastic card.

I didn't want the Teeth of Terra to look like it belonged to the blood Angels, they'll have loads of black chainswords and the teeth are black so I plumped for gold. tbh I'm not overly wowed by it ether. yup...still green
looking it over again I think the green is to flat. I'll go over it with more shading and highlighting
It's going into a BA army so I wanted a contrasting colour of an imperial house so all the red ones where out. didn't want the blue one coz that just looks like a massive ultramarine. I fancied some thing in green and Cadmus had a cool background.
I have an idea for Roland (Cadmus ruler) too. double barrel battle cannon with an auto loader on his back and the whole thing will be a little stockier. maybe a power fist holding the battle cannon barrels

no your right there was a bit of an issue with some of the paint. not sure what caused it. I used a wet palate and Vallejo paints. maybe the paint was to wet or the mix separated on the palate over time painting I dunno.

Thanks
I find the Fantasy range offers a hell of a lot of options for 40k.
I used loads of elves, dark elves and dark elder for my Eldar army.
Fantasy monsters for daemons. I used a vampire head for a kitbash Maphiston.
If I ever do space wolves I want to do a fancy squad using the new dwarf weapons and armour. all them lovely runes.

Yeh currently working on a harle force (although been shelved for finishing up orks to match their new dex.... although DE new dex also.... AHH too many models!) I think you'd love my warwalker, im using the vamp counts mortis engine and other fantasy bits, the theme of the force being that your actually looking at them through the psychoactive drugs they use, hence they are all a little demonic
this is the gallery there in; http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-69018-41009_Harlequin%20Themed%20Force.html

Looks like the head from the old plastic highelf dragon (or more likely the DE black dragon), with the "forehead piece" from a khorne juggernaut. The egyptian head piece looks scratch built, and the nose ornament i didnt get a good look at.
Am I close?
Edit: nose ornament looks like a juggernaut head ornament.

I like that knight!
It looks weird in all the right places.
The snout/beard/stinger and nipples are really nice features that make it feel just right for the dark prince.
Only thing is the black beard stinger would look more integrated if the black moved up as a shade on the actual visor/faceplate. Perhaps.

gun is from the forgefiend, some GS pipes and the rest is morghast

I agree, I've wanted to do a lord of skulls walker for ages. all the ones I've seen are out of proportion, mostly using the GW knight legs which are too small. I've seen one I liked and that was on the defiler's six legs

Is the gold on the Stormcast Eternal meant to be NMM? Because if it is, I feel like you need to push the contrast a little more to make it pop. Otherwise its nice, blending is well done.

Post by: insaniak
The extra work on the Sigmarite definitely helps. It's possibly more of a dirty brass than a gold, but looks much more metallic now.
Seconded on the dread... He's leaning too far forwards and needs more toe-contact on the supporting foot. The CCW arm being tucked in so close at the elbow adds to the awkwardness.
The paintwork is fantastic, though.
