Greetings!

Here's a pack of fierce "cyber ghouls", feeding their blades with flesh and blood, rushing with hunger for death in their cold empty eyes, murdering for the sins of their Mother.

And the story behind them is as follows... About a year ago PDH asked a bunch of guys around Europe if they would be interested in doing a sort of surprise collaboration for a game of Inquismunda they were about to play at Warhammer World. Well, we, the Spiky Rat Pack were also on the mailing list of PDH's and of course responded to his call.

We had couple of months time to do our secret porjects. Mikko, the other half of the Rat Pack, did a splendid Living Coffin Psycho-Gorilla thing that even Jes Goodwin has been wondering. I, in the other hand, decided to play with an idea of creating this macabre, blood thirsty, chainblade wielding ghoul who I called, for a lack of a better name, Stryderre.

Living Coffin and Stryderre made their journey to England and played their part in the grand game that was played on neil101's magnificent gaming board, Yggdrassillium.

Some time after the game I was commissioned to do more of the Stryderre-kind of thingies, and so I did... They became to be known as Arco Evisorators, created from the ancient templates by the Archao Archivist Biologiysts...

The original Arco Evisator, Stryderre, and the new pair made their appearance in a game of Confromunda at Warhammer World. The game was played between Spiky Rat Pack and seven other like-minded and talented hobbyists and professionals (PDH, neil101, JRN, Fulgrim, Jon, TamTam and John Blanche).

When we got back from England, I announced that I would be open for commissions. That announcement spawned yet another task to do more of the fierce Arco Evisorators, this time a pack of six...

So there you go! Hope you like them as much I liked doing them

- Kari

EDIT:

Forgot to mention that the red bases were not made by me but John Blanche, so credits from them goes to him.

Here's my latest finished miniature, a Slaaneshi Cultist.

The colour scheme for this merry little gang will be apple greens and patinated bronze, along with fiery orange and red as complementary colours. The base was pretty much inspired by the works of Migsula and JRN, maybe not that obviously but you can find the resemblances.

The group will be portrayed as agile and cunning, with the taste of gluttony and lust. My plans are to add couple more skinny-like members, a chubby with a heavy weapon (noize gun maybe?), a standard/icon bearer and a priest of sort. We'll see how that will turn out...

This stuff is amazing! I especially like the faces of the models, they're really expressive. Unusual choice of colours for the Slaaneshi cult, but it works.

Hi y'all!

A friend from the USA asked me if I was interested in creating an Inquisitor character for him based on an illustration decorating the Inquisitor game rulebook page 72.

I tried to copy the essence of the character from the illustration in to 3D as well as possible. I also made some alterntions to make him look more like my own version – or vision. This kept the task both interesting and more creative.

There were some specific request from the commissioner for the task. One of the things he really wanted to be given for the character was the skull-in-a-box, the same kind of thing that Preacher Josef is carrying with him.

But without any further words, here's the Inquisitor...

I'd guess the right arm is from the DE Talos Pain Engine, Torso and Head from a WHFB Empire regiment (not sure which one), and his legs perhaps from the WHFB Flagellant regiment?

Schwerpunkt, good guesses, but here's the real list of kits used...
- Head: GK Terminators
- Torso: IG Command Squad
- Right Arm: DE Talos Pain Engine and Nurgle Champion (helmet as shoulder guard)
- Left Arm: Empire Greatswords
- Lower torso: Chaos Cultist

+ miscellaneous parts from here and there...

A great new model. This is turning into an A+ blog!

I'm interested in where you get the small shield on his shoulder.

Also, is it painted from black or white (or grey) undercoat?

Hope to see more quality models soon. And some more reports on their adventures

Secrets of the Imperium @ 2014/02/19 11:45:53

Post by: izeColt

Thanks Bottle! The shield is from GK Terminators kits, the left shoulder guard is build using plasticard and the right one is the helmet of Nurgle Chaos Champion.

I use grey undercoat.

More models will follow soon!

Archie The Death Rider, I think you can find the PDF-version of the rules somewhere around the Internet.

Here's another Arco Evisorator I managed to finish some time ago. Tthis time I decided to make it slightly bigger and meaner... The base was once again painted by John Blanche.

Post by: Bottle

Incredible yet again!

Not everyone can say they have John Blanche do their bases for them

Have you bought a nice wooden box for them to go in, like John Blanche does for his models?

I found your pale skin tutorial on your blog. I can't wait to try it out.

Secrets of the Imperium @ 2014/02/20 09:02:59

Post by: izeColt

Thanks Bottle!

Actually I'm doing these Arco's for John, so basically he makes the bases for himself

I tried to search for such wooden box, but eventually had to give up and make something myself. I bought a light weight wooden box and painted it with black shoe polish. Came out pretty nice

Is the lady inquisitor built up from an existing mini, or did you build her from scratch yourself?

Secrets of the Imperium @ 2014/04/30 06:51:01

Post by: izeColt

Jimsolo, she's built mainly from the existing parts, mostly DE bits. Her dress, the lower part of her face, the stilettos and the fur collar have been sculpt, for instance.

Here's something new... Lords of Decay, part of my Chaos Space Marine project that I'm currently working on. I've finished the first squad of Plague Marines and their dedicated transport. Quick and nasty painting style, which is the way I'm starting to come to terms with.

The summoned Plaguebearers were originally a part of my Fantasy Battle Chaos Army (or start of such), but since I'm done with building that particular force, I decided to change their bases to the round ones and include them in this project.

Hey, just found this thread, and I am super impressed! Thanks for sharing such high-quality photos of your work; it's really great to get multiple looks at the models.

Definitely a Blanchitsu feel to all this (not least the bases, which are obviously awesome) but I like how you have your own traits as well. The skin is very clean on your Inquisitors, which I really like--the brightness of the hands and heads really stands out and the paleness also enhances the grimdark feel. So the whole model doesn't look dirty; it just looks worn and like it exists in a polluted, corrosive environment.

Fantastic! How come so many great artists and modellers come from Finland? Glad to find your work--I'll definitely follow along.
