I have discovered that plastic cement does not work, have to use super-glue as it is the same stuff Mantic molds their minis from, sigh, I had hoped normal model glue worked.
For what these are? kinda smexy! in a horror-sci-f way.
I went on a building spree, all my SW minis are built and the glue setting. Oh I have ideas as to how they will be schemed.......Vanguard troopers, welcome to the Khadrovian Union of United Republics,,,Komrades!
As for the bio-mech horrors of the strain, the infestation has begun!
Okay, got my Sedition Wars minis made and have seen how they can be interesting for painting. I am thinking of a mix of still living to dead flesh on the more zombi styled infected forms (zombies) and more living style flesh for the big bad beasties.

Really love the base colour you have for those. I know many are all about NMMNMMMNMNMNMNM, but I like metalics. I used metalics recently on Nids and they came out brilliant. (IMO)
These are going to be spectacular by the time you have done with them.
I want to get some of these, but I need at least two sets. One for the straight models which look brilliant, and one for conversion, many of the strain plaguey mutie stuff I can see going to chaos easy. I really like some of the bigger ones for Oblit's myself.

Valorian elites sent to investigate the infection. Valorian elites are the equal in many ways of storm troopers, advanced enhanced carapace armor with light servo assists, hermetic seal ability with enclosed air supply or re-breathers which filter harmful agents, visors that allow multiple vision ability along with heads up tactical displays when needed along with targetters. Special weapons made most use of, Grenade launcher and melta weapon. Also, fire suppression team makes use of dual man portable auto-cannons. Captain has a power-sword and plasma pistol, the sniper a snipers rifle, and the heavy weapons specialist is able to wield a heavy Melta or alternate to heavy flamer. Medic carries a heavy pistol, a las pistol, and a carbine as well.

Automatically Appended Next Post: As can be seen, while the majority of the uniforms and weapons of the Tyarvetzyan soldiers in the main forces of the Khadrovian Union are of the same quality as their neighboring systems or Murmanskya and Arkeletsya, the head gear and breathing protection is varied based on the beliefs of the regions where they grew up as to what best works for toxin blocking in the air they breathe. Some wear no protection, already having built up a tolerance, others wear simple chem treated face rags, while others use more sophisticated filter masks, and others, especially solidly amongst the heavy weapon troops, re-breathers. This all is due to areas of toxicity endemic to their world to the man made pollution they must endure. When they get a tour of duty on a clean and fresh air world, they will reluctantly remove the masks to breathe deeply of the cleaner air, but keep the masks close by as that is drilled into each of them.
I will need to do a write up with more info on the Valorian faction now that I have them. The Deadzone one will be easy as Enforcers are my "Ice Sanction" troops of the Khadrovian Inquisition.
The Valorans, as can be seen by their armor, weapons and other equipment, are a high tech culture in the Khadrovian Union of United Republics. Enhance servo assisted carapace is not quite the same as powered armor, but that it does provide the Valoran soldiers with enhanced communications, targeting, and sensory input, as well as allow some mobility including mobile heavy weapons as man-portable. The soldiers use the Mk-II suits, the A models for the Males, and B models for the females as they set for the mostly slighter frame of build of the women compared to the men. The standard weapon issued to all is the M-7 pattern rifle. they also have the M-19 Grenade launcher, the M-12 Fusion carbine, and for heavier suppression work, the M-22 pulser cannon, capable of suppressing enemy infantry as well as light armored to middle armored vehicles Here is the M-22 heavy suppression team, camo is still being applied to these elite troops.
[/img] [/img]
The smaller combat teams carry the the M-7 rifle, the M-19 Grenade Launcher and the M-12 fusion carbine for truly heavy enemies. Green Team
[/img] [/img]
Red Team
[/img] [/img]
The Amexadians prefer to not be loaded down with large heavy weapons that need more than one man to carry. They prefer that be the governance of supporting Tanks, Armored Personnel carriers, or walkers as support heavy weapon platforms. Instead, they prefer mobile rifle teams supported with grenade launchers attached to their rifles, and the Squad Assault Weapon their armor is of good quality, and their helmetscome with a built in rebreather that folds away when not in use, the visors that can also be down or up inside the helmet which also has a small commlink, has the ability to initiate a heads up display for the Amexadian infantry soldiers. The main weapons seen in these three command squads are the M-46 modular rifle, which can have instead a shorter barrel with handgrip for the close quarters combat the Amexadians do get involved in. Another add on to the M-46 is the M-5 grenade launcher attachment. This improves the firepower of the squad. The M-48 S.A.W. is the top weapon for fire suppression that is used by the Amexadian fire teams, always with support from the walkers and vehicles they like to have handy.

the nurglish ones with the different pants are a true bulls eye hit!
and if you ever would put everything in a PDF I could read it in my soon to happening summer vacation hint, hint, nudge, nudge
Where did these latest chaps come from? Are they the same line as the strain and anime-cyborg-chick-with-a-large-gun and friends, or a different one?
I'm struggling to keep up with just GW models, never mind all these other companies.
The armored suits do indeed come with the anime guitar pose sniper rifle girl. these are the majority of the "Vanguard" from sedition wars.
The guys who look like they escaped the movie Star Ship Troopers are the Defiance Games' UAMC troops of that troubled and failing company which screwed itself flip-flopping on materials to make the models from, the UAMC guys are plastics, they went some othr material mid stream several times, resin/plastic/restic/some other stuff. they failed to deliver many orders, apparently I got very lucky with my order of 118 UAMC troops.
Many failed to receive a simple 1 box order of their own army selected, the Panzer Grenadiers had size issues, the Bugs also had issues, and the final product of Chinese Empire troops had casting problems like failcast. they were supposed to also make and deliver a "Hard-suit" unit and that is still in limbo. They had such promise, but tried too many changes to make it succeed, should have stuck with the plastics and sold many units of UAMC to help finance the other factions and get a research section so they could see what switching to restics would have done to them. too much too soon it seems.
Dreamforge has done some to save us all from the high priced GWIG minis.

They had just the laser rifles, it is a % to find the blaster, and then of course it will have limited ammo
Size comparisons eh? I did some shifting around so the difference between the male and female troopers could be seen. One actual IG officer, a Space Marine captain, DFG and Defiance minis also for scale shot. [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]

I was going to say that they all do a good job of making the SM look like a short-arse.
Good progress.
Even the IG officer is comically large and bulky compared to the others, so, GW needs to rethink their size and make smaller guards, or bigger marines, right now, I have Marines that seem 6ft with massive bulk squeezed into a powered suit of armor. More like some Brotherhood of Steel like chaps
Think with GW is the made all infantry more or less the same height to make competitive play more fair. If you ask me it ruins it for those of us who like our scale.
I have often held the belief that by scale your actual space marine is only 5 foot tall and all weedy, it's just all suit you see, thats why you cant kill them, you hit what you thought was body but it just hit thin air, he is that skinny.

The brown wash made it seem like oiled over leather, and I am going to try to dry brush that lighter dry color to make it look like it has been in some rough times with the NCR Ranger./Special missions guys.

No worries! I am always seeking to improve my painting style past the envelope, but not the way GW has made it with their sometimes odd highlighting overkill. So Thank you Cam!

Glad they did their work well, still much to do on the fallout figures
Scale shot helps show the difference between other makers minis and GW which also reveals the comical "heroic" scale they use to justify simply bulky minis that are as the SM captain and IG being the same height, not the Marine towered above all, that their scales are purely simplistic representational, but hey, they call themselves the "porsche of minis" well, Defiance then was the Ford, and Dreamforge is the Mercedes, while Brother Vinni shows as the Koenigsegger, My Way and others are also showing superior work to GW's OTT scales and mass.
Well, I once rode inside a Porsche...it is not all what's it cracked up to be...every bump in the road you feel......I like your reflection about scales...but I doubt gw will ever do something about this in our lifetime...that would cost them and us fortunes and a half...I would even settle for appropriate scaled vehicles...but then...I can do these on my own...bwahahaha...

No worries Vik, pre made terrain is what it is. Not sure what bits will add to a road concept. But looking at how the flash makes that red so outrageous, I used some suntanned skin to go over the skull's face and add something to it.

LOL! I know, I do have a tons of tanks, walkers, men, and 4 titans now, That is the Khadrovian Union for you, they see quantity as a quality all it's own.
Of course the ruthlessly efficient Ice Sanction Troops have dealt with another threat, the new "infection" sentient nano-mutator plagues such a problem! if you don't get rid of them, they make a frightfull mess of worlds.
Well, I placed an order from Hord o bitz so I can make some legs from the left overs of the Eisenkern troops be troops, torsos, shoulder pads, and back packs were needed, left overs will await extra legs when I do the females and mix them with some male troopers, gonna have quite the force, and of course the heavy troopers platoon.
I also ordered the Generals from Kabuki, so gotta wait for confirmation from both shipments, HoB is local in the states so to speak, Kabuki is in Italy I discovered, so have to deal with their air post, seems pretty good for the money.

BoS armor looks best with a bit of weathering methinks, of course, you're a mass-production kind of guy, so you'll probably do all of that at once I assume.

Oh if you look carefully, weathering and lighter metals for wear and tear have been added, I need to use the lightest of steels and some mud at their feet, and other fun touches to them. Same withe the unit of Enclavers
I do have a shade of green closer to this one. as Brother Vinni did not copy the lase rifles 100% they are not exact replicas, I did a military color as these were supposed to be military weapons. Now A3-21's rifle I would have used more yellow on the main body of the plasma rifle.
Please don't get me wrong, great job on the guns, just for me the green against the blue steel is very slightly um odd. But the models are great and your paint job is great. Nice an crisp.
So, did more work on the wargear of the powered armor, and saw the hoses from back to chest were to be yellow, still need to re-touch the helmet green hoses, and a touch of black on the power stores for the gatling laser. Meanwhile, they had to deal with a drunk and angry Supermutant/Ogryn
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Then the other squad had to deal with the drunken giant. Last pic was after they agreed to pose for a pic with the big guy, and after saying "Cheese" had to calm him down with a block of the food, best to leave as they always seem quite flatulent on Brew and cheese mixing in their gullets!
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
The the desert rangers had to deal with him! And no drinks for the robots, the bar did not serve their kind there. Whiskey for the rangers, no beer for their 'botses.

dsteingass wrote: You can just lighten the green, no need to get a whole different shade of paint. It's pretty close I think.
I am almost there, the guns will have a "worn" and used a long time look with lighter greens, maybe some spots of bare metal showing through at edges and corners, any parts that would easily get scuffed. Plus I have yet to do washes on the guns and such to get the deep recesses, and the plasma rifle cables need some work too.
So, inspiration struck me as I was black priming then adding armor gray to the under flex suit of light armor they wear under the carapace plates, and I felt to try to do a squad of Nacht-Jaegers in the latest carapace armor system. Then I will have the one team looking old Warzoney and the latest update from Mk-II to Mk-III carapace armor. What does everybody think of the 2nd Nacht-Jaeger team as it is progressing. Armor gray for the face masks as well to fit the theme.

Thank you! I got more added onto the Nacht-Jaegers, the camo is done, I used adamnatium black steel for low level metal buckles and knife parts, oh, and that round piece of the re-breathers. Dark browns for the stocks of the rifles, leather, and the grenade handles are next, then the eyes

Oh I have armies that are opposed to my Khadrovians. I have Orks, Tau and Necrons besides my IG and SM collections. Also, as I do have Deadzone and Sedition Wars sets, I need to see about keeping fresh those parts and games.
So, I have the infection looking to spread.

Kabuki got a letter from me, I have been waiting ridiculously long for the Generals. I ordered the kit on the 2nd, last week they finally said the order shipped, and I would get a tracking number shortly after, well as it was the 8th when they said that, and it is now the 15th, I felt they needed a kick in the rump to get their act together. While they do great sculpts, I order one of six kits they had already made and in stock, It would not surprise me to get my tracking number after the minis arrive at the pace they set for themselves. I know the order is shipped, but for the past week, it has been freely roaming and may arrive today or tomorrow for all I know. air freight, signed delivery is what I am shown it will come as, but seriously, this does make me re-think further orders from Kabuki Models due to the lack of information flow from them. Other companies, well Hasslefree is fast royal post never does tracking, but Hasslefree would have landed days ago. Brother Vinni and My Way are also prompt.
monkeytroll wrote: Never used a tracked service from them, but always had stuff within a fortnight from them in the past.
Well, there may due to being them shipping to America, not EU Monkey, so they promised a tracking number soon, that was on the 8th, I expected the new e-mail with the number in say by the 10th, not a week full on later.
Sorry for the long absence, its been busy here, and no respite in sight . Loving the new units of troopers, nice color scheme. Only one question remains......

How did Hans and the rockets do on "The Voice"
LOL! the potato masher grenade does look a bit like a song mic doesn't it? Especially at that angle.
when I order the black widows and another box of male troopers for a co-ed unit, I will need a fresh command accessory kit as well.
I also have the answer for spare legs as I did get 20packs of all the torsos/backpacks/shoulder pads, so I have 12 sets left to work with!
I may also do more heavy weapon teams to make a twin missile launcher from mortars and twin auto-cannons on my Hanomags once those kits are out and ready! I just need to scare me up some more IG decals so I can make more squads have the "144" decal. I have enough for 30Valkirs, I need more for the new Nacht-Jaegers and will need more from the black widow platoon of 2-3 teams and the command kit when he makes that, eisenkern with a long coat looked like coolness to me.
Update: The Generals left NY and are enroute to WV as I type this, like will be here for my door tomorrow.
Theophony wrote: When I get time I'll dig for my transfer sheets and see if I have any 144s for you
Many blessings upon you! I was searching, and all 3rd party stores are out, and GW is not selling sheets unless you buy IG kits, which I have enough of those minis!
Yeah I give the eisenkern the adlers and 144 decals, otherwise I need to pint really, really small 1-4-4 on their left shoulders, LOL!

The generals
[/img]
Nelson-X, saying his praise of the Emprah!
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Napoleon-X, brooding and plotting
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Patton-X checking his rosters, logistics, and casualty reports
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Rommel-X observing the battles. Kabuki missed an important item for him, German officers always had pistols, and as the model came with pistol magazine pouches already, I added one.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
The reason for staining the minis was the resin as you can see is s milky white material, I wanted detail lines not to be washed by the flash. I have already given the generals a black primer coat. As always, comments are welcome!
Primed and started Nelson-X
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Primed and started Napoleon-X (he has a complex it seems), Oooh! bare resin showing out of the primer!
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Patton-X looks like his power glove has a twinlinked pistol scale weapon built into it.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Rommel-X, decided that as he is a field Marshall, he can have whatever uniform he likes, (red stripe will run down the pant legs)
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
And that is the latest progress report on the Generals so far.
I may add a small dark colored spot in the 4's that are solid white looking, shaky hands and all that.
Nelson as a Navy officer will have straight colors and no camouflage.
Napoleon as a General with a great sense of his own self, will wear the typical color for a senior and seasoned veteran so his armor will receive the camouflage of all veteran Khadrovian officers, afterall, if Zhuikov/Creed got camouflage, why can't he? here he is with the armor at the base green aka Muddy Olive. As with Nelson, I am working out a liner color for the coats. Napoleon hails from the sub-cluster where the Tyarvetzyan/Murmanskyan/Arkeletzyan great coats hail from.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Being a Tank General, Good 'ole Blood n' Guts here will not have camouflage pants, and as an Amexadian, will also not have camouflage marks over the Muddy Olive of his armor, instead he will be all spit and polish as he was very much a man who preferred soldiers take pride in their appearance! as for the data-slate, I was almost tempted to do a windows logo on the upper left screen, LOL! His pistol at his hip, I do need to ivory the handle for him, his power glove/twinlinked hot-shot las holds the tablet delicately as he makes sure to master all the gear he owns.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Rommel-X, being a Tanker, a Field Marshall, and Kruegerian, will get the camouflage on his armor, but his Field Marshall pants and jacket under the armor will be left plain, He has an image to uphold amongst the men and women of the 144th after all, and also, the fact that he wears a custom armor, but his Officers hat also sits atop his rebreather cowl.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
And here all four of the men stood together for a group shot.
[/img]
Update on Nelson he is standing on a very earthy soil that might be tilled, or long stones in the way, his foot atop a hard outcropping that could not be moved. His uniform resplendent in the sun, his bionics due to the many shi[p battles he has survived, his power sabre raised high as he gives his praises to the Emperor!

They are looking spectacular. Nice colour choices, and basing is great.
Only one slight problem I have, according to folklore, Napoleon was 3 ft tall, OK not 3 feet, but very short in stature, indeed there is a whole syndrome, for vertically challenged people who have a complex, however your wonderful Napoleon is looking a very stocky six footer!

Thanks cam. Yes that is folklore alright, the real Napoleon was 5ft 6inches tall so pretty normal sized, maybe tall actually for people back then.
But there are still bits to be done as I discovered Nelson has a left bionic on his head. some mask touches needed on Rommel, Napoleon's coat cinch belt needs a color, and I nee to dry brush some flash to the faces and add the last blue light to Rommel's goggles. The Rommel gets a wash.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh yeah, the base textures are from pieces sent to me by our fellow league member Dave!

Napoleon looks like he belongs in an anime along the lines of Fist of the North Star. That's a good thing btw.
Good schemes all over.
Oh I will go back over that and eliminate the blue bleeds, the blue was quite watery for some reason but fear not, Fleet commander Nelson-X will be un-embarassed!
LOL! He does look like such a character! and that brooding look, he is unhappy looking, and no one knows why! At least patton-X has that worrying data pad as an excuse for his scowl!
Rommel-X has the rebreather mask to hide his expression! LOL
Thank you kind sir! And now with their camo muted by the dark soot and oily stain across both teams, they can do their clandestine night operations.
Spoiler:
Both teams of Nacht Jaegers had been given this mission, their armor muted visually as well as audibly with padding at key points. The differences between the teams was quite stark, the one team, all veterans of a longer service time who still knew their stuff wore the Mk-II carapace armor, all darkened in the night camo with the deliberate soot coat so that they were less easily seen, Mueller had also used that tactic on his Mk-III armor squad, their plain topped Stahl-helms also camouflaged in that night pattern wit the soot coverage. they all had the usual Mk-9 stick handled grenades, their rifles and support weapons is where they differed. The older unit was supported by a man portable and suspensored Assault cannon, they used mostly the multi-barrel Mauser-Walther with underslung shotgun, as well as a actual shotgun and the leader had a Heckler&Maffei MP-8 SMG
His team were equipped with Heckler&Rheinmetall HR-36 rifles and the Walther-Schmeiser M-10 SMG with a Krupp M-6 Grenade launcher underslung. the support weapons for them being a Krupp-Maffei KM-50 drum feed multi-select grenade launcher and a Heckler&Rheinmetall HR-37 large calibre sniper rifle with a occu-scope. They also brought some "evidence" that the target was taken out by a neighboring system who the Union was not wanting to ally with the planet they were presently conducting this mission on
"Planet Holdtus is in danger of a merger with the Farnham government on Darga 3, this would start a potential imbalance in the Ganatu corridor, and to avoid this, you are to eliminate the governor of Holdtus, Tremar Van Gelder III, an plant this evidence from Darga-3 liberally long your mission paths and at the scene of the sniping nest." was the words of the mission brief. the evidence was the brass casings, ration wrappers, and sniper rifle which had been used, and then jammed after use, thus making it seem right that the weapon may have been abandoned by careless Dargan troops. The rifle of the right calibre for the mission.
They had been snuck onto Holdtus via a cargo container sent to a landing spot nestled amongst the starport import section, from there agents had gathered vans for the teams and drove them to the entry of the Gubernortorial grounds, evasion had been easy enough for the Nacht Jaegers, or Night Hunters. They set up the shot zone, and had waited, the wrappers left with the scraps traces and oils of the food bars all over them. they set the rifle in terrace of the spot and prepared to shoot the Governor, or a member of his family who presented the easiest target to them.
Well, the old man was not so easy in his ornate recliner, but he was having a talk with a standing and exposed member of the family, apparently the oldest daughter, she was arguing based on what they could see through the scopes. Sniper specialist Fegerlein had his opportunity, and thought, "Poor girl, likely they want her to marry some ugly fop on Darga-3 and that place is not pretty either, can't blame her, time to end her misery" he thought to himself as he squeezed the trigger.

Yeah, been a while Vik, but i know life got you busy, plus the contest (amazing stuff the bridge and steam power tank).
On the Nacht Jaegers camo, Thank you. It is patience, plus my skill development over the decades methinks,
With the shipping they did set me back 53USD, but individually they would have cots much more, was best bet to do them as a package deal. I was pleased when Napoleon turned out to also be white resin and not metal as the website had him listed as (Images of snapped parts as he rolled around amongst the others as they all came in one clamshell pack, but individually bagged. As for the wash on the flesh, they look under the day lamp to be tanned, but the flash catches the wash pigment and amplifies it, so as the light colors look all glowy, like the lenses of Rommel-X's mask, the skin seems over done by the sun! I might dry brush some flesh over so they look less over tanned.
Speaking of Nappy! I have to go over the liner of his coat and get rid of those reddish smudges! Wash darkened his coat as it did Nelsons' may have to dry brush back some armor gray on the two of them, maybe also the others.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Patton-X with the wash done on his armor and uniform The pistol is ivory handled and silvered then washed as well.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Rommel-X, very much gets "stuck in"
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Oh and feeling in the mood for conversion work, I have spotted a possible sweet deal where could 2 WW-I Mk-IV's for just under 60USD, then I just have to "futurize" them and re-makes them into battlefield platoon carriers with support weapons for crossing heavily fired over battle-zones and "no-Man's Lands".
Two major vehicles for platoon transporting in the Khadrovian forces, the MTLRB-40 and the more amphibious BMP-200 "Sea-Dragon" both can move units of 20-30 or so strong, the MTLRB can move 25 men, and provide major fire-support for the platoon.
[/img]
The BMP-200 carries 35 men and also provides fire-support .
[/img]
with troops near for scale
[/img]
[/img]
These would also be working with a new platoon transport being worked on for those fields with wide trenches as seen on some worlds the Khadrovian Union has fought on.
This pattern vehicle is the base, the design retooled for a front asault ramp, and a superstructure on top for observation or a 360 degree support weapon turret, maybe both, engines in either track system pod. Heavy Stubbers or Bolters and either Auto or Las-cannons in the forward sponsons.
Yay, tanks again! Your generals and infantry troops and all are nice and that, but you are still the master of tanks! *hops around clapping and singing* Shazo is on track again, huzza, huzzaa, schazo is on track again, huzza-huzza-hey!...

Hobbylink Japan has the Mk-IV from Emhar for 31 bucks a piece, so I will get and convert 2 as I have found my stash of Plasicard, likely will find my round stuff, and also that I have spare pieces from 2 landraiders I used the MK-II Land raider FW kits on, so I have assault doors (the flopped down like ramps kind, and other bits). Superstructure and possible turret, all scratch work. so prepare to see white plastic again!
Master of tanks, I like that!
Back on track, LOL! good pun!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Someone else stretched theirs a bit, and placed a demolisher cannon smack in the nose. placed a open topped deck on top, and large doors behind the sponsons. But it shows it CAN be done!
My concept, as shown by the previous 2 large transports is a assult door placed under, and forward of the driver's cab, and then the upper deck with track guards with a turret and AA guns If I can make them.
My idea is to make the Mk-IV's like a light Goliath APC with decent firepower to support the troops, but have 2 that look similar for some more uniformity, as well as the ability to deliver a platoon to the target.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Concept idea sketches added to images of a MK-IV simple turret atop the added structure, cannon or twinlinked weapons, and the way I may add the ramp up front. [/img]
trying the idea of a different turret with t he upper structure and the ramp of course, maybe have the aft superstrure taper and angle somewhat at the back sections? [/img]
And side on how it may appear structure atop and a turret [/img]
Sorry for the shaky sketches, crude I know, but just to give ideas for modifications to the design to alter it. Sponson weapons will likely get some changes, especially the 6-pounders.
Camkierhi wrote: Well yet again you are inspiring me to do some mad stuff. Liking the ideas you have going on there. Can't wait to see what you end up with.
Once I have them, the fluff I plan to have for pics of the MTLRB-40 and the BMP-200 Sea Dragon will lead to why the Mk-IV based transport will be around.
My Mk-IV's are in the hands of EMS and shipping as we write! I will then be able to plan the superstructure and ramp sections as soon as I have the things constructed!
Alrighty! today I received the 2 massive MK-IV kits which will be able to based on what I hoped for and have seen by size, hold a good 35troops(crammed a bit, but the roominess is there(Like most 40k tanks, engines in track modules)
The main box they came in, gotta get inside!

[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Pre-bored out cannons!
[/img]
Going to have toi shape with hot water dipping

The 3 HMGs/or Heavy Bolters if the barrels are thick enough
[/img]
BIG central hull!
[/img]
Did I mention it is BIG?
[/img] [/img]
Rommel-X is on a 30mm base for scale referencing
[/img] [/img]
With a Chimera(BMD-80) for size reference The men ride in the regular APC in that area behind the turret, and this thing is much bigger than the whole Chimera!
[/img] [/img] [/img]
With the MTLRB-40 and also more room and headrooom compared to the 25man carrying MTLRB-40!
[/img] [/img]

It is, I have a scale of the almost finished 1st kit, I still have to add the new nose/ramp, as well as the upper superstructure and make a turret for it.

Looks like your conversion could funktion perfectly as a"Spartan". The fw interpretation looks like a Land Raider on steroids without anything defining, the original was just a kitbash in the worst sense, a heap of bashed kits. Considering the size, should be no problem at all to carry 30 termies with this beauty. Also, rivets!
I admit my attention had wandered, but the Mk IV's have brought me back!. Very nice! Looks like it would be a great match for the turret from the most recent Ramshackle games "battle dog" MBT.
It's might be a bit oversized for the Ramshackle tank, which is just a bit bigger than a Leman Russ, but it would probably look perfect on top of the Mark IV.
Ramshackle sells all it's parts separately. The turret with 5 weapon options is only 7GBP shipped!

termies take 2 spots for every normal infantry-man. and these are for my IG to cross bad places as some enemies seem to like fighting set-piece, entrenched attrition wars, the Khadrovian doctrines are to stay mobile and break through those lines and disrupt the enemy where the normal vehicles could not get through( I will be writing fluff to accompany all of the trench crosser APC's)

Thanks! I will have to wait a bit to order such. I also scratch build turrets as seen earlier in the thread. I just need to find weapons to put in them, LOL. I love the ideas, keep 'em flowing!
HAHA no it's one of my favorite tank builds. I still haven't added the trench bar yet.
HAHA no it's one of my favorite tank builds. I still haven't added the trench bar yet.
It was the way you spoke of it, LOL. the guns took patience yes, and the tracks made from vinyl I super glued slowly and patiently as they were needing such to shape them to the kit.
I have to do measurements now for the upper structure armor segment which will hold the turret.
Eilif wrote:I admit my attention had wandered, but the Mk IV's have brought me back!. Very nice! Looks like it would be a great match for the turret from the most recent Ramshackle games "battle dog" MBT.

I will be, just needed sleep, and I can work on the upper structure more, I found my leftover Puppets' War bits, so a turret and turret ring are handled, now to make or buy turrets worthy of these monsters!
Sorry for the long departure, will hopefully have more time next week, but this tank is looking great for conversions. If it were a gw kit it would be half the size and the transport capacity would be 10 contemptors who could all fire out ports if it didn't move, but couldn't assault out of it if the emperor said to .
@ Theo: no problem, Real Life has many all busy lately.
So, the upper decks need to hold a glued on resin turret ring section, so I added reinforcement supports. They will be trimmed based on the last plasticard deck to go into this one, I have some other small details to fix, and need to design a turret for the weapons I will use.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
With the support deck fitted in, I know some putty work is likely to happen next for this ramshackle looking support structure
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Automatically Appended Next Post: So, I have to see what others think works for the cool factor for the Turret and how it is placed
front placed allows it to fire down more easily to the front and one side, not as much rear and the other side, but pretty fair maybe? different vision blocks are set to left and right in this configuration
[/img] [/img]
set to the left still has forwards and left side as the better low angles, rear possible depression as well, just harder for covering the right of the tank. It also allows the interesting vision section offset to the right, and the other to the rear.
[/img] [/img]
Offset to the right is opposite issues from offset left, more armored looking vision port is forward.
[/img] [/img]
Finally the hanging back turret ring placement, would allow it to swing the weapons to the rear and sides more than in front, front would have more limited depression angle for the guns. But would allow wrap around front/side left, and armored port to the right.
[/img] [/img]
Offset to the side seems to make sense with the view port looking forward (looking to one side seems a bit odd).
Also, with a turret on top of all that, it shouldn't have much issue with seeing in all directions wherever it is placed, so a little asymmetry will make for an interesting look to the whole tank.
Cam votes left....Although as being the Khadrovians, driver is set to the left.
Llamahead votes forwards
Dr.H has voted for left or right side? the picked for view port, which one? the bunker style set in the over hang? or the armored like one that the offset right would give?
I vote for leaving this casematte away entirely. You have built one, Why top it with another one? Second, none of these positioning pics has spoken tome.Third,In order to decide where to placethe turret, you should place the turret, I don't think you can judge the look by just looking at it's understructure.
When you said you were going big, you certainly meant it!
As for placing, I'd favour the asymmetrical lay out too, off-setted opposite to the driver's side (main turret on the right in this case, if I read right).
But I liked Hruotland's suggestion, maybe the double deckered under-turret might be too much; I'd wait to have the actual turret for a final placement decision, and then maybe just on your lower structure.
"It has a wonderful view of the gardens here, we simply must put a bay window here...."
"Non, I insist it must be French doors in order to get a full view of the vineyard we will put in the garden...."
"Well, frankly I don't care about the view, but we do have to do something about this drab grey, I think a paisley wallpaper would be just the thing...and would offset my oh-so-chic camo wear wonderfully...."
Nice work on the tank so far. The tracks are a pain on those Emhar kits, but they are great for conversion work. Engine block fits perfectly in there, brilliant.
I'm favouring the offset right placement with the armoured vision slit forward so far, but would like to see how it sits with a turret in place.....
But I liked Hruotland's suggestion, maybe the double deckered under-turret might be too much; I'd wait to have the actual turret for a final placement decision, and then maybe just on your lower structure.
However I agree with the above.
I'ves seen that turret ring before, can't remember where, care to put my out of my misery ?
Well, there were a LOT of lessons I learned with the making of this machine, so unit 2 will have a lower sub-support structure. I did go for the offset right and planted the thing, it is quite high, but surprise is not one of the goals of the MTHR-B-50.
For images as I did apply the putty to work gaps out, I have a vision for the turret set in my head, based on the drawings I added to the MK-IV museum pieces pics.
Monkeytroll, loved the comedic dialogue. I do like making bitz fit the machines I make.
OMN, Thank you, I did go offset right. The turret ring/viewports came with the Puppet's War "Bricks" I ordered and made a while back, (Just have to finish paint and decals and then weather them a bit.)
But so many liked the offset turret, so here is how it winds up so far(Plasticard turret with spare cupola and weapons will be the last part, I still have minor parts to armor lower down.)
[/img]\
[/img] [/img] [/img]
Spare track as extra armor
[/img] [/img]
[/img]
[/img]
[/img]I am also contemplating a piece of armor that goes from the top rear of the driver section to the turret area.
I saw this picture in particular and wondered if the Khardovians(spelling check later) had unearthed the lost STC for superheavy coffee supply vehicle. Must keep the troops alert and energetic for battle.
Almost looks like the figure is having a cup while the tank is moving .
I still have to catch up on reading, just got a chance to look at pics really quick. Nice find and great execution so far.
I will have to shave the new turret down some, it is rather a tallish things by itself.

Well, for the model A of the MTHR-B 50A I went Twinlinked Las-cannon
[/img] [/img] [/img]
Then, a British WW-II style internal mantlet
[/img]
This in turn reminded me of a "Black Prince" style turret as in Matilda BP and such.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Napoleon-X felt it needed to be trimmed down some as too tall at chest height! one shot was blurry but gave an idea as to how high it was!
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Next to Model-B, which will have a lowered support for the turret ring so as to avoid the height issues as much.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Jehan-reznor wrote: Like what you did with the engine compartment and the assault ramp, but i am not a big fan of the added copula.
I see the MK's more as Pre landraider versions.
Well, I have a lowered thickness for the turret ring support platform. I am debating cutting down the one already made on the 1st unit. Everything is an experiment.
Now that you placed the cupola I am stronglier than ever of the opinion only to use the casematte you built as an understructure by yourself and leave that smaller, upper one (or as you call it, the turret ring) away. I think it just gives the effect of a tight choke ring, somewhat eerie or unfitting, like the strange appearance of Padaung women.
That tank really is monstrous! I'd like to see it compared to a Baneblade. Looking forward to the further process.
I still need the thing as I made the insert part of the turret, the support casemate is too built up inside to use it, and it would look sillier, I will add more material to the resin turret ring segment, and then maybe putty it you so it will actually look more substantial as a part to support the turret.
Camkierhi wrote: Looking good. Tall but good. I like it myself. It is a big model and can handle it.
Thanks, I did also make the plasma turret by accient as a mirror flip of the las-cannon turret, so both directions layouts will be tried. I will also be shimming them as the gap between turret and ring is due to the one part being taller than expected, and I do not have the tools to shave the things down.

And I like the idea of a heli-pad tank.....make it so
I like adding those simple touches.
Well, they are downright slim compared to ole' Baney!
Well, maybe for another time, I have been inspired by another to make something of a smaller scale, say the 3-man variety? I just need to order me some tracks, maybe some more bitz as well. They only need single width treads for what I plan, so some packs of Zinge treads, maybe and some Imperial tank bits from Hoard o Bitz as I always get my bitz!
I also want to make more fallout squads, and more super mutants as Ogryns
I am also debating a new thread, leave this one for tanks and mechs and another for personalities and squaddies, Or just keep at this where I place whatever I am working on and maybe rename the thread?

Yeah, I do like to tie in the armies troops/vehicles and make them make sense of sorts.
Wild style, hmm chaotic, maybe use as many colors in the tag as possible for Monkeytroll!!
Okay, also, I have an update on the mega carier apc's they got their major black primer dones, I may have patches on one that will need hand painted primer.
Well, I decided to add 2 new factions to my stuff, I will work the name of both for the Khadrovian mix when not using them for other or Infinity, but also good small skirmish, some of the "Republics" that are part of the Khadrovian Union of United Republics send what they can, some do not have massive regiments to send for service, but smaller bands of Guerilla and special operatives for when they need to do less power intensive missions, or as some have seen in my blog, to deatchments of the Inspector Generals of the S.C.H.M.E.R.T.Z. branches for dealing with mutants, Psykers and other abominations.
From the diverse and mixed Republic of Volg
And from the Republic of Na-Damask
I figure these two factions will grow on me more as time goes by and this will allow e to make bigger squads as I match the minis up.
Dr H wrote: Tanks have come together well, primed up.

Well, all know what will come next on the tank/transports.
Araidna for my collection to make them cross over will make for 40k part of the Volg Republic, I am fleshing out the how is it they haz werewolves thing. For Deadzone they would be rebs, or a outcast corporation.
Haqqislam for 40k will be the Na-Damask Republic which trades with the Volg Republic as they both use similar rifle layouts like AK-47's in space, for the Deadzone, more like a corporate.
Meanwhile, the Murmanskyan forces have heavy weapons ready to be primed an painted.

As can be seen they are very well equipped and ready for many different missions types with their different specialists, and the general soldiers who cover the pure grunt work aspects.
Here are the Volg troopers Mostly Kazaks, or cossacks, one Scots and one French Now the one guy fits in even with the basic troops, the Veterans in heavy armor allows for dealing with tougher oppenents, the scots officer is a wild man in melee and with hsi weapons as he tackles 2 opponents at a time with the specialist training with constant gun-kata training.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
And the Volgan unit has a Light Heavy Stubber, plenty of rifles, and man who wields 2 light shotguns for close quarters all have pistols and knives for up close and personal dealings. The real trick is the writing for the dog troopers/dog faces wulvers and the lupine attackers.
Okay I am trying colors used in different ways by each faction, but the same colors just different patterns and uses.
The uses of the greens shades by Na' Damask Republic. so far 3 shades and one different color will be added not green to break the patterns of camo and armor up some.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Now how the Volg republic uses the colors, the leather jackets of the line Kazaks is more a bomber jacket shade, I will use dot camo on those.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Then I decided to shed light on them as they have the bigger back packs and shadows from them.

Thanks, I will be diverging camo a bit as the worlds of Na' Damask and Volg are quite different, black and grey break spots for Volgs diverse forest/marsh/highland terrain, while there is green on Na' Damask, they also have forest, desert, scrub lands

Modest work done, took some pressure to get the glue to set right and it is worth it! the green tube is to help with the pin, as well as distance of top of turret to base, I have a thinner sheet to curve cut and wrap around the sides, I will have to add some support walls to help keep the thing in place and add strength. I also added more armor to the front so that I can work from it to add an overhanging armor sections over the treads.

What do you use to cut your styrene sheet? Some of the edges appear quite wobbly. I use the score and snap method and end up with lovely straight lines.
It just seems like the clean up would be much quicker if some of the joins were straighter.

I also do a score and snap, but suffer osteoarthritis, and that does make a bit of a wobble, I do try and smooth them out with scrapes by my knife to shave the roughest of bumps and such down.I do also plan on making some "seams" to hide some of that rough join, and those in turn allow me to have a reason to "rivet the tank some.
Good selection of camo' patterns on the many infinity models.
Good shape developing on the mini-tank.
On the getting a straight edge when scoring and snapping: use a metal ruler to get a straight score line (if you're not already), and maybe do more passes with the scoring before snapping. I get better results when I've scored many times (over just a couple of cuts and then forcing the snap).

Conical turret! That's why mine didn't quite work: I tried a cylindrical shape, it didn't really fitted in. This one, one the other hand, does Will try something like it the next time!
As for the ruler, if serious, be sure to get one with a stainless steel cutting edge & finger guard (Just putting those into Google should do to make clear what I mean).
If having some issues with wobbling, as you say, or reduced finger strength or increased fatigue 'cause of that, have you considered a cuter instead? Like the Chopper or Duplicutter? (Have not used either myself, but sound handy, do not?

Glad you are pleased, as I like that we at Dakka can bounce ideas to experiment with amongst each other! Your little tank as well as Viks little steamer tank, great ideas! I have seen other small tanks that folks were using as sentinel stand ins too, but you and Vik were the most recent authors o such small machines.
I think the 6" safety cut ruler is what I will go for eventully.
I used thinner, almost paper thin sheet plastic cut into a bent bow shape to get it to sit right for the conical style turret, I also then used that cutting to help guid the extra plates that will be seen on the sides of the turret.
Presenting more work done on my little tank. I also added other little details

Really like the look of the little engine unit also! Nice touch!
Thanks! The making of this turret has me thinking about refinements and I looked at the T-28 and other Russian tanks that have variations on the idea, so if the sides seem straighter, and less angled, it is normal actually.
I merely went with an idea based off the blue-print drawing above, I went a bit over, but I am pretty much sticking with it. I managed to get it so the guns clear over the box, so the tank has full 360 degree rotation and smoothly so. Now to get my money in so I can order the treads/wheels/hatches for the commander. and so many new shinies out there to get! Limited funds so I can't grab all at once.

Thanks Inso, and the flash makes the blue-gray seem different. I have also a day light LED bulb in my overhead lamp which the small walkers were photo-imaged with, I used the flash on the big guys (I have 3) to get the light effects with the light green and blues of the "eyes" on the big guys.
Camkierhi wrote:Thanks a bunch matey, was looking at your awesome walkers (great job, they look amazing.) And me son looks over me shoulder...." I want one Dad, please Dad can I have one for Christmas, Dad where do you get those, I want one now, Please Dad PLEASE........" and on and on and on.
Thanks
LOL Cam, did not mean to get that boy all excited over me skills and models, the AT-43 is OoP so hard to get now, the Big mecha I got from HobbySearch of Japan, http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10134325a/20/1 is an image page of the basic model, they are made by Plum who makes the in batches, keep checking as once they are not sold out, you gotta grab 'em \fast! I may be as big as Santa, getting white haired like Santa, but I hate the feel of beard growing even though my toy making skills are as good as santa. LOL
Littletower wrote:Change of tittle scared me for a sec, - not that I don't like the walkers, either big or small - but I was looking to progress on the light tankette.
Then I read you were just waiting for parts and all was good again...
Last fella looks massive indeed!
No worries, it eat at me to have to wait first for my monthly to hit the bank account, then to order and wait for the parts to ship from across the pond as the Brits say. Most SM minis are too short to hit his knee unless the basketball jump!
Now for the big guy with the basic weapon layout of the Battle-cannon and chain ripper. Instead of painting the eye on the outside, I pre colored the back of the clear plastic and got an interesting effect.
Yeah, painting the inside of clear plastic pieces is something I've always done, usually the inside of the hollow they fit into, but sometimes the rear of the piece. Both look different. Uses the plastic to it's best effect.

Thanks Doc! the trick was not as well retro executed on the next big fella with the volcano cannon and thunder fist
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
with the paint work on the outer lens, base of a blue, then a lightened blue, and then white added again for the inner dot
[/img] [/img]
I have since gone back over the camo green to make the green not bleed the blue-grey as well as make the sloppy brush work less apparent. Next will be the black squiggles! I know you all love the squiggles.
the infinity bug has got the better of you too?... I see why^^... well these specialists will fall in nicely with your ranks...
the walkers again blend in so well to your soviet style themed army...the Russian army is such a wild mixture of modern and old fashion in parts you are almost depicting the RL here...
and the big fella.. I am waiting for them squiggly lines now with baited breath...
well i tell a lie here... actually I am with LT here as I want to see more of the tankette... heck... a full squad of these^^... small, quick and deadly tank hunters the lot of them... will they get standard LR pattern tracks?...or will you scratch build them?... I think with coffey stirrers you might get away with scratchbuilding them for this built even...

Yep, Infinity makes nice minis. I will get more of the factions as time goes by.
Now that I have a red stars, I need to also retro fit them to the 5 Kolossus you traded me for Vik! I also have to make them onto the ones I got from the Miniatures Market, as I did with the bigger than sentinel walkers you all saw.
I am awaiting the newly placed order to Zinge for the treads and commander hatch for the thing, I also ordered a set of 23mm wheels and hub caps! I plan to also make a neat little 4x4 I will next month need to order me some plastic sheets and rods as well from the plastic outlet that Dave and now Theo use. I did check, Zinge track links are the same width as the basic Leman Russ ones.
As for the squiggly lines....took me some time last night, so I think 1 knight a night in squiggles, LOL
Here is Unit 1
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Viktor von Domm wrote: oh... you sure have an agenda there... lots of nice sounding new projects then in the future for us to ogle over...^^
them squiggly lines look very cool...just as expected^^...
the lens by the way looks very menacing too
with that they ship a minimum number of sheets and rods and tubes and such, I will have plenty of materials for the base projects and to create other details as well! I may wind up with variants of the little tanks I have left over missile boxes and cannon barrels still from the Old Crow models.
Yep, and tonight, i work on the Unit 2, the one with the chain ripper and blunt head.
Thank you! I think of the sound effect when they have the Zaku-II light up it's lens when I see it effected by the flash bulb. I love such effects from simple colors and light.
Oh and I ordered some new things from Brother Vinni as well! There will be new bots, I will be arming my 2 mutants with bulkier weapons from the left over Centurion weapons I have, as they will be joined by 3 more of their kin, I also have a large nasty clawed monster from the wastelands coming with along with yet another famous commissar who needs his aide de camp who smells and his lady Inquisitorial Girlfriend who both fascinates and scares the hell out of him!
Now not only do I have Unit 2 camo'd up with the black squiggles, but I have scale with a soldier, and the light tank.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Now you all get to see just how big these mechas are.
Okay, as I have another 3 of Brother Vinni's Post Apoc Ogres on the way, I have been figuring what would help them look oh Ogryny? Bigger, bulkier guns! Some GS was needed to make the hand grips for the pistol grips look, beefier than paperclips would have done, so my sculpt skills still need work
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
And for the other 3 when they arrive to be assigned their very own rippers
[/img]
Some of the Brother Vinni ogres will be chopped and shifted a little, I want to have one at least using both hands for the ripper, I will also attempt to sculpt a helmet, maybe some extra armor on the Bone 'Ead to lead them all.
Now, I got to add the new stars onto the walkers I traded other bitz to Vik for, I just had to add some weapons and paint 'em up some. On these I placed the stars on the right hull armor.
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] As you all can see, two have twinlinked assault cannons, another 2 have twinlinked missile pods, another has a multi-laser+missile pod, and the far right has las-cannon+twinlinked Missile Launcher.
Now for ones I got from Miniature market, dual twinlinked missile launchers
[/img] [/img] [/img]
las-cannon with twinlinked missile launcher
[/img] [/img] [/img]
And these are Heavy Bolter+Heavy Flamer for rooting out enemy troops
[/img] [/img] [/img]
Automatically Appended Next Post: I am also working on the wasp scout car while waiting for the Zinge tank parts
Cool little scout car, but you should model the guards hair to be blowing in the wind as they race around the enemy troops. With how fragile the car would be versus heavy gunfire who would bother with a helmet . Either that or the driver needs a dog

Not much left of the hair when the Military cuts it to the close to the scalp. a dog? Hmm, it would have to be a smallish one with paws on the edge of the cabin, tongue hanging out..Sadly, my sculpt skills are not that great, I barely made a recognizable squig for when an enemy is turned into one by my Orky top psyker.
Yeah the car is small compared to the light tank, and with a radio set up, but nothing heavier than a plasma rifle mounted on the pintle,,,,,,,fire-power is kinda light.
went and compared notes as to the walkers from Hasslefree I did. The earlier ones you can see they both are mixed with anti-tank and anti-personnel weaponry, the weapons sinmply on opposing sides of the machines so a left/rt then rt left arrangement for the twinlinked assault cannon and the twinlinked tank killing las-cannon equivalent. BT-8a-1 and BT-8a-2 models, the next we have the dual twinlinked assault cannon armed BT-8b-1 and the dual twinlinked Las-cannon(coil gun) BT-8c-1
[/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img]
Littletower wrote:That's a massive amount of walking firepower there!
I have counted; 9 x BT-5 Sentinels 3 x Metal Orcas BT-6's 14 x BT-7 "Kolossus" 4 x BT-8 "Grymn" 1 x Dotch Yaga 1 x Kossack 1 x Hussar 1 x Molot 1 x Urod 2 x Sierpe 1 x KV-46 1 x KV47 1 x Monster 1 x Leviathan Crusader 3 x Leynos 1 x Stalin 1 x Luther 1 x Ludwig 1x Lifter Ludwig That is my total walkers collection to date, all collected over the past several years, the oldest being sentinels and Orcas.
Inso wrote:Nice work on those HF walkers... they really suit a set of gnarly gnashers, don't they?
TY, they just by looking at them cried out "Make me a mouth of teeth!"
Automatically Appended Next Post: Okay, I have other pics showing sizes of BT-8 walkers to the light tank

Getting their mud

And 2 supply drops to help with conversion work!
From Zinge, now I can work on the light tank again!
[/img] [/img] [/img]
And for a mystery project.........
[/img]
And for the Khadrovian Union fighter strike wings
[/img] [/img]
stonned_astartes wrote: What website are thees models from? great work btw!
Hey there Stonned, some are old Bauhaus corporate troops from the 2nd edition of Warzone: the Mutant Chronicles, the others are Dreamforge Games Eisenkern Stormtroopers.
Camkierhi wrote:Zinge ftw.
And Mig looks ripe for Orky conversion too! MMMMmmm Where did you get that one?
Yep, just needed Zinge parts, both tread sections pretty muc used, the hatch just fit the top of the turret,
the MiG is for my IG support, although I did make my Orky fighta look like they copied or looted one themselves.
With the parts I got on order from Zinge, I got that hatch for the turret, it would open forwards, allowing as a shield for the commander. granted, it does add some more height for the light tank. Take note that Zinge has an appreciation for our beloved rivets!
[/img] [/img] [/img]
Then I started to work on the tread system, first the wheels so as to help guide the track shoe placement, and then support parts to help with maintaining basic shape. I did the same process on both sides
[/img] [/img] [/img]
Then came the outer armor panels. Definitely needs more smoothing
[/img] [/img]
Then the upper decking that goes over the treads, just the foundation so far in these pics.
[/img] [/img] [/img]
Then things got more interesting!
[/img] [/img] [/img]
I found some Aquilas, but the latest images do not show that it is any where near finished at all.
[/img] [/img]
This little tank is a real delight! Very nicely done.... One little thing for me... I would leave the track guards as they are now and not cover them... looks really nice with the support sections and can easily be used as extra stowage space! Just my 2 bob's worth!

Top job though!
Oh they are getting sealed right now, I will also add no skid paneling to the sloped surfaces, your post will help me make some hatches for internal stowage which also makes for anti-shell buffeting to absorb impacts, or if empty, make spaced armor.
coming together nicely, that little tank. - Though I wouldn't have mounted those pretty wheels, only to cover them with side panels. I would have "looted" them for other purpose and fixed the tracks otherwise. On the other hand I painted the interior of my Land Raiders in the knowledge no one would see the details ever again, too...
