The most impressive thing to me is your dedication. You've got a great scheme, yes, but you've followed through and painted it on a huge army, THAT'S the impressive part to me.

The execution is Great, very clean painted, good Brush skills, an Overall very good theme. Nothing i See,is wrong or sloppy.

And for what its worth, the new toxicrene model would fit perfectly for you as there is a ton of squishy bits on it and it has tentacles, so it should fit right in.

As someone who's struggled to find identity in his own Tyranids, I definitely salute your work, man.

They look like they've been pulled directly out of a modern Star Wars cartoon. Somehow you've made real, physical objects look 3D animated. That's very impressive work.

I can't believe you're still cranking these out. For anyone who hasn't seen the rest of Nard's Nids (which were already legendary by the time I got here), it's worth digging through his gallery. Best either keep a firm grip on your chin or pad your desk, as the group shots WILL drop your jaw.

Death by screaming pink! I think, if anything, the vivid, almost fluorescent colours make your aliens look even more alien! Bravo!

Awesome, when I learned of all the impending Tyranid releases the first thing I thought was "I wonder if Nard is going to paint these in his great style!" Can't wait!!!

I had to look closely before I realised they weren't photoshopped or something like that, seriously impressive painting, fantastic.

I don't approve of the colors. But the paintjob is awesome.

Why does everyone talk gak about the color nard is an amazing painter and this is his army not yours so who the hell cares what color he paints them?

Colors are not for girls or guys or for gay or straight they are colors the only meaning they have is to be a color why do people have to put some stupid label on everything cant you just appreciate a great paint job?

What the heck are you talking about? I don't see any posts equating the color with gender or sexual orientation except yours, and very few people have talked crap about the color, and those that have also praised the painting ability/execution.

I can honestly say I don't like the color choices, I prefer more a 'natural' coloring for my 'Nids, but can also honestly say, these are fantastically painted, regardless of my opinion of the color scheme.

I absolutely love your scheme, Nard. I loved it ever since you first posted it. However, I've gotta say that I don't think it's working with that model. It's simply too much pink because of how much more flesh area there is than on other Tyranid models. I think it needs some more contrasting color on the fleshy bits to make it pop more because right now it looks unfinished and too pink, to me. Specifically, I think picking out the veins in the green would break up the mass of pink.

Totally agree. Looking back through your catalogue, I think your Tervigon's need this, too. Outside of that, it's excellent quality painting as always.

Look at the second response from winterwind85. It is totally offensive but I will just assume the poster is 9 years old and from the backwoods and leave it at that.

Back on topic... Beautiful work! I will share in what some others have posted and comment that I thought these were hi-tech 3D rendered digital images at first. I would love to see a Gargoyle Brood painted like this.

Yeah, the darker shadows on the most recent Tyrannocytes is definitely the way to go, I think. It gives the models more contrast and improves the depth of the model a lot.

but its not just this colour scheme (which I love by the way I think shocking colours suit nids I see them able to change from camo colours to combat colours as needed) the cysts as droppods and as tyranids within the range don't have a good balance of chititious area to body that's hard ribbing to fleshy nubbing they just too blobby. it effects there paint jobs.

Love your nids, very eye catching. Pink works great. However, the Broodlord doesn't look as clean as the rest of your models, you seem to have lost some of the effect around the arms and veins of the head.

They almost look like they belong in Borderlands with that scheme. Its so cartoony looking and depending on the angle even looks like it has the black outlines everywhere.

I commented on this color scheme a year or two ago, and I was and still am fine with pink nids. If animals can be pink, then so can nids. I'm also still on the fence on the shading style. I don't think it works, even though it's obviously intentional. Just my opinion.

That said, as if the color scheme wasn't unique enough, the shading makes it memorable and unmistakably unique.

Awesome, been said before, but the cell shaded look is awesome, really impressive being done on real life 3D models.

Make it a 4th person. It happened to me too.

Yes, Photobucket has essentially banned 3rd party hosting unless you pay a tremendous amount of money to them. It has broken maybe 35-40% of all threads on forums over the internet, sadly.

Nard lives! The GSC don't work quite as well imo, I think due to the lack of the contrasting green and/or the addition of the metallics.
