Myth is a cooperative game for 2 to 5 players developed and published by MegaCon Games. Blackwall Warrens and the Shores of Kanis expand and update the world of Myth with Journeyman Heroes, terrifying new monsters, exciting new weapons and armor sets, and a revised rule set and cards.
The kingdom of the Okian lies at the heart of sun-scorched Kanis. It is a sand-blasted land where massive stone monuments rise to honor the dark master Anunkara, Keeper of the Dead.
Under the sprawling ruins of the once great trading city of Blackwall lies the Knot. The maze of tunnels house uncounted evils. In the deep dark of the warrens courage is tested and fear takes hold.

Trap deck
Over the last year, we've been able to focus on the Myth base game. We've updated the rules, which you can download below. They are more streamlined and function like more traditional board game rule books.
The entire run of Hero and item cards has been revised for clarity and amended using keywords. These have been released for some time through the Myth patch system on our website and have already been played with and tested by hundreds of players.
The trap system has been completely overhauled. Traps are more straightforward and deck based, with setup images and explanation on each card. Furthermore, any trap can be used on any realm tile.
Finally, we've made a clear distinction between story quests—now expanded and renamed in the form of Myth modules—and the much more robust, free-form questing, referred to as Adventuring.
Myth Modules vs. Adventuring
The Myth quest system has been re-imagined. The overlapping story and free-form questing nature of the base game has been overhauled. We’ve separated them completely into two modes: Modules and Adventuring.
Modules are greatly expanded, lore-filled story quests. Everything for setup has been provided and explained. Players in modules ignore realm tile legends. Setup is as easy as placing the minis and objects where the images indicate.
Furthermore, modules have a larger story and expand the lore of Myth. They place you in the world and immerse you with the history and richness of the events taking place. Narrated sections of the module are read by a participant, yet the game remains fully cooperative.
Free-form questing is now referred to as adventuring. While adventuring, players utilize the legends on the realm tiles and populate their quest per the quest cards. However, the adventuring system provides room for the discovery of Bosses and the earning of titles.
The new monster classification, Commanders, are key here. Commanders make those monsters under them exceedingly more difficult. Commanders can also be captured and interrogated by the Heroes to find a Boss’ lair. Most importantly, these two modes of play are now completely separate. There is no crossover. Myth is either played by using a module or by adventuring—never both.
Heroes
The two new Heroes that come in the expansions are the Swashbuckler (Shores of Kanis) and the Outsider (Blackwall Warrens). Like the other Myth Heroes, they have unique play styles and offer their own set of challenges. Each new expansion Hero also has their journeyman deck upgrades included in their box.
The Swashbuckler is a pure dual wielder and only follows the light path. He consistently has the capacity to activate his secondary weapon and the extra Fate Dice to trigger that weapon's power. Additionally, he is much more at home in danger, surrounded by a host of monsters or facing off one-on-one with a boss. He is an absolute blast to play.
The Outsider utilizes the Malice system and only follows the dark path. When Heroes take advantage of the Darkness and strike out of revenge, Malice is generated. This Malice finds its way into a pool that only certain Heroes can access. The Outsider may choose to make a played card more powerful by utilizing Malice to supplement it as defined by the card. Additionally, the Outsider is very good at manipulating the Darkness meter to his own nefarious purposes.
Beyond the new Heroes, each expansion provides players with the means to upgrade their existing Heroes from Novice to Journeyman. Journeyman Heroes have made a choice: to follow the light or listen to the whispers of the Darkness.
The light Journeyman Heroes are found in the Shores of Kanis. The dark Journeyman Heroes are found in Blackwall Warrens.
Look for updates that detail the Journeyman Heroes.
Shipping information - Please take note
Based on our experience with Myth, we will be charging shipping after the Kickstarter ends. This cost will be based on the actual costs incurred to ship. We will collect this via our pledge manager after the campaign concludes.
This charge will be calculated by our shipping partner with maximum discounts applied.
Simply put, shipping costs change considerably in the months between a KS end and the actual shipping date. Estimating future costs in the present is impossible, and not being flexible enough to recoup skyrocketing shipping costs is not economically feasible for us anymore.
Additionally, MegaCon Games will be responsible for shipping a backer's reward ONCE to the address on file. If the backer has not taken the responsibility to update his or her address, or does not claim the package in the time provided, then reshipping the item will be done so at additional expense to the backer.
Automatically Appended Next Post: So... I have to admit that the upgrade package at $6 total is a really, really good move by these guys. That's dirt cheap for the amount of "stuff" you'll be getting for your 1E game.
I still haven't painted anything from the original. The original rules were so poorly written, it was a chore to try and play, and the original make up whatever you want as you progress tile by tile didn't work for me. The models are generally pretty nice, but they have their own style and many of them don't really fit all that well with most other games.
I hear the revised rules have improved significantly, but I haven't read them yet.

Exactly! Haven't painted anything from original, badly written rules, nice models but don't fit in with other games...
With that said, I will still be keeping an eye on this simply because of the huge number of minis
Plus with all the revised cards and alternate gender sculpts you could now feasibly run 2 of each character once you know what you're doing, and have access to both the light and dark paths if you back the new KS.
Karazax wrote: I hear the revised rules have improved significantly, but I haven't read them yet.
The rules make way more sense, but it didn't seem they were changing much else beyond clarity, and maybe it was just because I was annoyed at the rulebook presentation, but I found the game itself shallow once I finally learned to play. If they'd updated the combat mechanics, I'd have been on board, but I'm not really interested in paying for clarity I already figured out the hard way.

I may have to send you some minis to paint from the new one, then I really liked what you did with the ones from the base game!

Same here. Backed the first KS, and I have to say I love all the material. Superb quality, even the box itself is amazing. But the rules kinda ruined it for me. I hope 2.0 makes it a lot easier to play.
On the fence about this one, price is right, surely with all the stretches we will no doubt get, but shipping is a whopping €50 estimated. That's 50% of the $120 level! Sheesh!
Yeah, unless I can motivate myself to paint the original game, then there is no point in me ordering more. A bunch of fairly nice miniatures at a good price still isn't a good value if they just sit in a box in my closet like the original kickstarter stuff is right now. Plus every month there is a quality miniature kickstarter it seems. Conan just finished, Bloodrage is going now, I'm finishing up painting on Cthulhu Wars, and still have more Arcadia Quest to finish.. And I just got my copy of Bones II, so I'm not exactly lacking for models right now, and if I was then inevitably another great kickstarter will pop up next month. I might get the 2.0 upgrade just to give the game another chance though.
In for $6. Add ons at this early stage are pointless to me. I still can't tell what I ordered during the last pledge manager. There was a deck of cards I thought could be missing but the box was such a mess (and the consensus of the rules) it meant I just closed the box and bid it under the bed. The current add ons aren't all that clear as to what was produced in the last KS and what is new for this one.
Megacon didn't do that well with EU distribution to backers to the point where I thought of buying the retail box on Amazon months before my parcel arrived.
Perhaps I'll up to get both expansions maybe a few extras during the pledge manager if the project makes progress post KS. However my completionist collection died with Recon. Once I'm missing a figure or two I find it a lot easier not to get others.
Automatically Appended Next Post: My English was atrocious. Sorry. I blame the tiny text window on my phone. I can only see half a sentence at a time!
And the all in add on this time is 130. Currently 4 expansions, with who knows how many more modules. Those 4 expansions net you 100 figures as it stands. 10- 20 minions, 2-4 captains, and 1 commander. No bosses or mini- bosses though it seems.
Hopefully it's the same as Recon, where we can just add that expansion bundle during the pledge manager.
They said they are using the same pledge manager software as Recon too.
Hopefully they continue to honor that 130 price well after that bundle is 7 or 8 expansions, because at that point it's getting into Conan levels of ridiculous deals.

They honored the price and late adding in Recon,...... Even added sets that were unlocked post KS end!

Kolgaluth is a monster. She makes the simple Crawlers so much more difficult. She is a moving Lair. She buffs poison and puts webs all over the tile, hindering the Heroes and helping the Crawlers. And her special Move abilities make her extremely hard to corner and kill.
I don't understand the modules... Is it actual new content? Do I have to buy a whole module to get one commander figure and card? Seems pretty awful to have to buy 12 more figures I already own dozens of for each module.
I don't know what module cards and punchboards are.

They explain modules in the video halfway down the KS page (starts at the 4:40 mark). Short answer, they're the replacement for story quests going forward; Brian compares them to old-school D&D modules.

While I can't be sure,... From what they have said so far,.. That only those two (rats, elementals) are set that way,... All of the other modules (including the ones that we have not seen) will contain new monster types that we have yet to see.
The cards, will be the monster cards, darkness cards, item cards, etc that are utilized in the story,.... So these are a bit more than what was in the book as a story quest.
For those who like to have the bucket of minis to accommodate larger engagements,... These will be good,... The clockwork one for example,.... If you don't have the module, you only have ten minions and two captains and a boss,.... Seems like you might end up proxy-ing lots of minions (though I have no clue on that particular monster type),..... It would seem to marry up well....
Also, boss, commander, mini-moss content does not seem to be duplicated in any of them, so these look to be boxes that have some self contained content which are then easily augmented in the retail environment by things like bosses, and even minion and captain kits.
I think it is actually a good retail strategy vs just releasing the minis like they have with the skeletons, with just boxes of minis with no guide on how to add them to your experience other than the quest cards from the original set. This is more of what I had originally envisioned as simple mini expansions on the game.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Over $190k,.... Orc Shaman commander is unlocked,...

Automatically Appended Next Post: $200k in just 10 hours,.... What a ride so far.
Interesting to note that this is a shorter campaign this time,... Just 20 days instead of 30 or 45 like most.
Interesting - I understand that there was an Australian distributon hub for the first edition game, yet they're still quoting that much with "RoW" rates?
Hm. That is pretty ugly. There is an import service for foreign foods/goods here, and they have a reshipping service. I wonder if that might be a cheaper way to go about it...
Azazelx wrote: What sort of shipping are they charging on the $6 revised rule set, I wonder?
Looks like the are leaning towards passing on actual costs,.... So you could imagine at least another 5-6 $
One important piece of info: that 2.0 printed stuff is planned to be ready in Sept. And even backers at other levels can choose to get that early without having to wait on the other things,..... If willing to pay the extra shipping of course.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Also,... Based on some comments, it sounds like the rest of the hero basic journeyman hero sculpts will be in the next few steps of stretch goals,.... And then on to the next new monster type and module at $300k
$270 apprentice or archer path
$285 apprentice or archer path
$300 new minions with module reveal/unlock
Automatically Appended Next Post: So many updates, can't post them all! Check them out,.... First info on the Soldier split classes,.. Many different new mechanics!
Just now they released the 3000 backers stretch goal (still a ways off). It is a great concept that many suggested in the last campaign!
At 3k backers, SG eligible backers get the Monk. I've wanted to do this Hero for a while. Time was right. The Monk is the novice rank. Like the other special Heroes there is only one path (for now...these thing can always change in the future). We are mocking up this and the next couple SG for revealing. couldn't wait as this requires a special write up anyway.
She begin her life as a novice Monk. Learning the stances of forms of a beginner. In her wandering years, as a Sifu, she begins to experiment and realizes that in real martial arts there is harmony and flow. That it more spiritual then combative. Finally, she comes to the understanding the gentle way flows through everything and so spends her time fishing. Her deck is a series of small decks with some crossover. There are stances that are ongoing. While in a stance, she can use abilities with that stance keyword.
Stances
Novice: Tiger Fist, Iron Shirt, Plum Blossom
Journeyman: Six Harmonies, Drunken Fist
Master: Boundless Fist
So for instance: In Tiger Fist, she can use Tiger Fist ability cards. As you might imagine, these tend to be direct attacks. While the Plum Blossom stance, is a more redirect, chi focused attacks. As she moves into Journeyman she adds two more stances, but many of the early abilities can be still be used as the newer stances are more open. Until finally, at Master she understand that there are no stances.
I love the hero progressions... I wish more model companies did similar concepts.
I doubt they will get progressions for both male and female sculpts, but if they did, it would be very nice on the mini collector side. I would buy 4 packs like that art in a second.
Too bad I have no faith in the rules... but the minis look good.
It gives me fond memories of old Ral Partha 3 packs I used to get, that were supposed to show character progression through their jobs. I know I had a paladin type, and a chaos knight I believe.
We will be seeing the alt heroes, one way or another. It was mentioned they'd all come as one stretch if I remember correctly.
Whether they end up getting light and dark versions, or just a generic neutral sculpt is hard to say. Would be really cool to get both paths though.
In the just-posted graphic detailing the contents of both new boxes, I see that each comes with a set of item cards. Do you think these will be the same in both sets, or will there be a total of 30 new items?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Lots of exclusive stuff from the first KS have been added to the add ons,.... as well as some that might still make it to retail:
- Both gender options of acrylic Brigand
- Spriggan Hero
- Skald Hero
- Trickster Hero
- Razorfiend and Keesi & Og Mini-Bosses
I am so torn, I love every model concept they produce and really like the models I got from the previous KS.
I just can't seem to get behind the rules... We tried to do a V2.0 rulebook game, and it was still kinda wonky and pretty much not fun. Maybe we are doing it wrong.
Here is hoping for all 9 classes in both genders in novice/Light/dark!
Can someone ask them why the ROW-Australia shipping is so huge - in the ballpark of paying for them to ship it from the US via USPS when they had a local AU distributor for MYTH-1?
As much as this games first KS was a kick in the low hanging fruit, its not a bad game.
I've been mucking around with Monster party rules. They REALLY need to delve into the material they have and start looking at what they have here. If they do it right, your looking at a game pretty on par with Battlemasters, and its quite a handful. They are a bit rough on the preparation for these KS, and the logistics has them by the balls. ( Much to say about most of these up and coming second comings of GW.)
On the whole, I have to say GREAT JOB on your perseverance, MYTH crew. I busted your balls hard in the beginning of the first KS, but you cats really delivbered a hell of a product, and even if there are a few out there butthurt, I'm not one of them. I'm very happy with the figures, the style, and the game as a whole, ( other then you putting together a monster crew, and letting people play the baddies as characters.)
Azazelx wrote: Can someone ask them why the ROW-Australia shipping is so huge - in the ballpark of paying for them to ship it from the US via USPS when they had a local AU distributor for MYTH-1?
They have not listed any particular ROW country issues,.... But I'd guess that they ended up losing lots of money on those orders,.... Perhaps there are additional issues for importing to countries,... Or the volume of orders to other countries outside the EU does not justify the time and expense of setting up those relationships.
I'd say it's all about business and $$$

Well, CMoN don't seem to be in the business of losing money, yet their local distribution didn't cost anywhere near the same as the cost to ship a single package directly via USPS Priority - which is what MegaCon are apparently quoting here. And as noted, MegaCon bulk-shipped to a local Australian distributor for MYTH S1 in order to save money. They might not be doing it again - or they might - but it'd be worth them explaining their plans before the campaign ends, especially in light of their choice to hold AU orders back for a good 6 months or so compared to the US order in order to avoid wave shipping.
Azazelx wrote: Can someone ask them why the ROW-Australia shipping is so huge - in the ballpark of paying for them to ship it from the US via USPS when they had a local AU distributor for MYTH-1?
Digging through the comments, I found these:
As an aside...I will complain about shipping for a minute. Bear with the gripes of a relatively new business owner. We negotiate terms for all our shipping. We get over 90% discount for UPS and close to the with USPS. And I thought...we are going to be alright. Then things started to change. I think the looked at the banks and said...ahhh...that is how we can make money. Basically our discount gives us amazing shipping rates. But it doesn't touch the fees...and they have tacked on crazy fees...fees for gas (that has miraculously gone up even when fuel has gone down), "rural" fees (but most addresses fall into this category...it is a very arbitrary fee), zone fees (fees that exist based off the distance from you)....but here is the kicker...they have a close zone fee too... It drives me nuts. thanks for listening to the grumpus....back to writing this update about the Lost Hoard of Blackwall.
Mar 12 2015 on MYTH: Journeyman
And in case backers are wondering...we are pushing hard for shipping cost answers by this weekened/early next week.
So...we're supposed to do it for you then?
Riiiight....

Are you kidding me?!?
You could ask them directly!
Maybe even appeal to their sense of fairness as you yourself are in Australia!
Just do it already!
The more people they hear from directly affected by the issue, the better the chance that they'll work on a solution!
If there was any 'snark' in this exchange at all it was from you!
Maybe even appeal to their sense of fairness as you yourself are in Australia!

I have to back this up. Previously I've asked questions in KS for people, sometimes I get positive answers but more often I don't. Especially if inquiring about things in another country... they tend to look at my country, so the question doesn't translate into "How many people are asking". Even in campaigns where I've said there are a few people and given numbers, it is less likely to be believed. It starts to sound like, "I have these friends who would like to know..." questions that doesn't translate into multiple people for them.
He isn't trying by snarky, but sometimes questions are better being asked by the people to effect change.
Most interesting is that there will be more SG goals announced @ the $350k mark,.. and they said that there will be 9 between $400k and $500K,... I guess that means one every $10K!
I'm guessing the alts are showing up as one of those. I think they mentioned it would be one stretch all together. Probably another module too that unlocks.
Reading about how the avatars work for the wizard guy sounds pretty fun. I like how the mechanics can be so varied not only between the classes but also between the branches within that class.
I'm kind of wishing MegaCon would do some tuck boxes for all the various card decks. All the cards are really going to be piling up by the end of this campaign, and it would be nice to have some official manner to store them all.
Not that I don't already have a bunch of various boxes around my house, but still...
We still have 5 female journeyman, and Skald and Trickster, Male and female journeyman, so that is 9 right there.
We actually played some Myth last night and we did the KS1 quest booklet. HOLY MOLY was that good. I suspect modules will be like that book. The pre-laid out quests, the stories, the mechanics brought a very blurry game into focus. If the modules are books with a dozen or so 3-act quests, then I think that is good content. I would love to see a removal of all 'card' quests and replaced with all 'book' quests.
I hope we get more clarity on modules, I might actually back this if the modules show promise. Saves me from running other systems with myth figures
I'm going to be pretty heavy into this one by the time it finished. MCG is off to a great start in turning the perception of this franchise around.
Automatically Appended Next Post: No, I believe everyone gets Traitea and cards, but the avatar of shadows module is unlocked for add-on or included for the all in.
I backed for $120, followed the campaign for a few days, and then remembered that we have yet to actually play the game. I assume the journeyman characters will be available eventually, so I'm just going to get the updated materials and wait.
I can't wait to start raising those skeletons and watching the fun,.... The hero resurrection feature sounds really fun where you would somehow control them prior to them taking control with a FD roll.
They have admitted a few times that there will be alt gender sculpts for the JM heroes,..... but no word on if they will extend to each of the KS heroes.
I love how varied these class are under the JM split,.... abilities and base stats!
yamato wrote: They have admitted a few times that there will be alt gender sculpts for the JM heroes,..... but no word on if they will extend to each of the KS heroes.
If the monk is only female and the outcast is only male, so be it. It would be rough to have a female trickster novice and only a single male journyman tinker.
I am sure they will work it out, but with completionist pledging reaching 350ish$ right now, I don't know how much more people can expand on that, especially with a few major KS launching in the next 2 weeks.
Oh wow! the BGG guy who makes all the tuckboxes! Good for Megacon for picking those up from him!
I wouldn't want a hard-back rulebook, but I would take a hard-back questing tome which included a full page per act or story with nice art and fluff. The little quest books are cool and all, but it would be super nice if they were in an expanded format with more background as many of the quests kinda don't make sense without expanded fluff.
Mantis Creations is running a Kickstarter for storage boxes for miniature board games, and they have a Myth loadout if you are looking for something to store all this stuff in:
Picture of Myth Double Box loadout:
Spoiler:
This will hold:
170 small models (heroes/minions/traps)
6 sculpted lairs (or more at the cost of minions)
28 larger models (captains/commanders)
4 mini-bosses
10 bosses (pick & pluck)
0/15/30 tiles 4x6
0/15/30 tiles 6x6
about 160~165 small cards (sleeved. more if unsleeved)
about 490~500 large cards (sleeved. more if unsleeved)
There will also be 2 addon options. You can opt for option 1 OR 2.
1. a single box with 4 trays for £28 that will hold:
0/15/30 tiles 4x6 (or more cards)
0/15/30 tiles 6x6 (or more models/tokens)
120 additional small models
36 additional larger models (captains/commanders/miniboss)
2. a double box with 8 trays for £56 that will hold:
0/15/30 tiles 4x6 (or more cards)
0/15/30 tiles 6x6 (or more models/tokens)
236 additional small models
108 additional larger models (captains/commanders/miniboss)
add-on options:
If the Necromancer is already getting pets at the Journeymen level, I'm hoping it gets to be Dialbo 2 levels of ridiculousness by the time he hits legendary status.
Isn't he supposed to be a lich by that point?
I so hope I can resurrect dead mini bosses just like the good old days...
Have they mentioned if the monk gets an alt race/gender whenever those show up?
Someone asked for a Monkey alt-gender (race) for the Monk,... and they said,......
"how could it not be the Monkey King?"
Also - they indicated Lich for the Master Level a long time ago,...... so Legend would have to go beyond that if it happens!
I love the Diablo 2 Necro,....... lots of fun back then!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Quest revisions shown for the first time:
I like how the white area (#4) tells you what to do each refresh phase,.... that the back of the card setup diagram was really needed!
This one removes the clumsy "slaughterfield" reference, and just tells you what to do and creates a wave counter all at the same time:
Chain quests,.... are spelled out a bit better:
and a mechanism for Agents coming back to haunt the party has been added:
Once an Agent has been introduced by the Heroes encountering them in a starting quest, there will be chance they can pop up randomly. Any future adventures the players enter, while possessing an Agent’s ability card in their deck, has a chance to draw the Agent out. Players roll 1 fate die for each Agent ability card in their decks. Any darkness results will draw out that Agent onto the realm tile in place of a lair. If the realm tile doesn't have a lair option, or if the players chose a trap instead so no lair exists, the Agent won't appear.
so if I want to try the new module system will they be available on the website or can I only get them from the kickstarter?
does the new 2.0 rulebook that you can download talk about modules at all or only "adventuring" mode?
Modules are not that same as the "Adventure Mode Quest Card" system.
Modules are self contained full quests that can take up multiple gaming sessions. They spell out everything to do from tile selection to monster placement,.... flavor text, dialog, etc.
at this point,.... they do not know if all or only some of the modules will go to retail,.... but the original story quests from the first game will be rewritten in Module format and will be available for free download from the MCG site when ready.
The full Modules (that include minis, quest cards, item cards, monster cards, bunch board counters, etc.) are only available through the KS at this point,.... but may be available via retail at a later time,...... these are really the way that the game should be expanded with new monster types,..... I would imagine that at retail; they would include the bosses too,..... (right now those will all show up as "free" stretch goals).
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh,... the 2.0 rulebook talks about both Modules and Adventure mode.
Mild shipping update! they said individual countries would follow; but new estimates are a bit more encouraging:
I will have specific costs for specific countries tonight, but here is a grouped and very brief general summary. PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE STILL ESTIMATES.
North America: $15-20
EU: It still varies but average is €20-25
Rest of World: €50-€80
With these new prices we are much more open to creating/opening a Hero pledge level for EU. Let us know what you think.
The shipping estimate is for Minion level, the All in module add on and SGs up to 900k.
RotW would be shipped from their Europe facility, except cases like Mexico and South America.

The next set of goals have been released:
Those Naga minions look so unique,..... Keith has another winner with his artwork! I always love the slightly different take he has on some of these traditional monster types.
Anyone notice in the stretch goal section the first two allies got full body artwork rather than just a headshot?
Sir Archeronn is looking like quite the regal warrior now.
I'm surprised we still haven't hit the 3000 backer mark. I know it'll get there eventually. Did it take that long the first time around? Can't remember.

yeah,..... there was much hoo haa and discussion in the comments,.... some really did not like that different style of the art; even though Brian said that Keith was doing art for each so that they could be posed for the minis,..... a few choice people continued to worry about how those minis would look.
I had seen these on the avatar page,.... looking good. They also said that when we hit that next goal @ $435 they will show the new art for each of the other allies (fathers, Bobby, Elder) that still have the old art shown.
I have a question, so the 2nd edition printing consists of:
*Rulebook
*Hero cards
*Items
*Traps
So is this mean the items and heroes are reprints of specific cards with errors or the entire set?
Does this mean all the quest changes they are showing are not included? Are we getting all new quest decks to replace 100% of our quest cards we currently have? I am curious how the updates to questing will exist... Like only new cards will be double sided and new format and the old quests are unchanged. Also, do we need to re-buy quest pack add-on with new format?
a) they are reprinting the entire set - and those you listed are part of a first run (that I believe have already been ordered)
b) in addition to that; all monster cards and quest cards, and expansion item cards are being updated as well. These will take a little longer to be available (more like the June '16 timeframe) If you have these; you will be able to get them replaced for free during the pledge manager as part of your KS order.
I would imagine that all of these changes will be incorporated into their second printing of the base game as well. so no need to worry about integrating old and new components, as all the cards of each type will be changed out........ the only cards that have not been discussed as changing are the Darkness decks, and the vendor cards (as far as I can tell)

So if I bought quest/item expansion 1 or 2 from KS 1, does that mean those will become invalid? Will I get them for free with my 6$ pledge or will I need to re-buy. Or do I just need to relax and know 6$ gets me every printed material I have which is updated?
Nah, I'll start highlording it up when I get a reptile hero. I'd even settle for an alt version of an existing one at this point. Or possibly when we see the Monkey King they mentioned...
Old ones are nice, but reminding me a bit of Hadross' shark man leaders, which I guess isn't the worst thing they could remind me of. That's also a sore sport for me, because I have no idea what I did with my Carcharian box.
It'll be interesting to see what else ends up in the Naga module. I'm hoping for a sunken temple or something along those lines! I want some drowning traps too!

$6 pledge will repalace everything that you have already. They said that in the PM there will be a way to provide visual proof of ownership of items like quest expansion decks, add-on heroes, etc. (even the Spriggan will be replaced with plastic version this way); and that these would be replaced for free along with any pledge level.

Interesting... I wonder how much all of these re-printings will set them back. I am excited to see how it all turns out. Regardless, the minis are fantastic, both in concepts and execution.
Hypothetically, I could then run 2 at the same time, what with owning the original figure and deck, and then receiving a plastic version and the 2.0 deck as well.
Heck, I think I could do that with all the classes now.
Plus with the journeymen light/ dark expansions, what's to stop me from taking one down each path, since I'll have doubles for all the beginning decks?
My mind is starting to reel at the possiblity of grabbing some extra printed materials, giving it to family members along with some tiles, to let them work on their own characters at home via adventuring, and then bring them over for some modules once we've got them.
I don't think that it would be a good idea to jump in on this one after missing the first Kickstarter (there is so, so much content that is unavailable to the UK), but I'd like to understand something.
When the base game arrived, people complained that it wasn't a complete game with just the contents of the core box - that some scenarios were literally unplayable with just that. Is this being corrected in the revised rules, or that why they're also throwing in those Skeletons?

The main issue was in 5 player games, spawns can get numerous, and you run out of minions to spawn. 15 minions and 2 captains gets you basically one lair/pack. Some quests and general happenstance would push those limits. (more heroes, more baddies)
Why the core game didn't work:
1. Yardu spawned shamblers, and relies on them for his boss fight. Core box has no shamblers.
2. Large tiles with lots of heroes can have 2 lairs and a hunting pack. A Lair needs minimum 15min/2capt and possibly more depending how unlucky you get. So the core box can find itself out of minions pretty quickly if you do two lairs and a hunting pack which is practically 25-30 models right there (and you only have 30 minions core box)
3. New rules I believe have rules for 'out of models' for spawning. I have seen it discussed, but can't confirm it. Basically for every 3 minions not spawned, the AP track moves 1. IE: darkness reacts faster. Sounds reasonable.
IMHO, to play the game comfortably, you really need 3 Lairs/packs and the core game has 2. The general consensus is you should have 20 minions/4 captains for a race. That will allow for a double lair/hunting pack for that race. (since two lairs with the same race is way different that two lairs with different races)
If I was to re-launch Myth boxed set, I would put at least 15 shamblers/2soulless in it on top of what is there. If someone got that pledge for 100$, they would have a pretty functional and complete game.

The hero level was made specifically to address these problems.
But...they're selling the second version of the base box with the same model-count as before, right? So if I buy it at retail when it comes out, I'll have the same problem as before, surely?
Anyway - many thanks for the explanation, nkelsch!

I don't think we know that yet.
However, if you get the Hero pack, you will get the shamblers and soulless expansions that nkelsch recommended.
Again, I'm not sure if they've confirmed how/if they'll be doing the 2nd Edition base box. I know it was mentioned that the original quests from the base game, including the problem quest, would be rereleased as modules? Maybe the modules will be updated thusly?
They said the crawler/grubbers add on will be an option in the pledge manager.. I'd suggest that you need one more pack of each of those minions and one more pack for each of those captains,.....
But let's see,.... They may indeed upgrade the v2 box set with 20/4 minions/captains,..... We still have to find out.
Yeah,... But I'd like 30/6 myself,.... Even then,.... If you have two of the same lair going,.... And get hung up dealing with something like a mini boss that keeps you from handling the lairs,.... They can really stream out in a hurry!
Automatically Appended Next Post: The strange part is that spawn rates are also different,.... So some minions don't really need as many,... Like elementals
Agreed there,.... That is how they are framing it,.... 10/2 from stretch goal, and 10/2 if you go in on the modules.
I'd say that will handle the vast majority of circumstances,.... And it may end up being a standard,... The new rules have a provision for what happens if you run out of minis, so perhaps there will be a standard like that,.....
It was hinted that when the modules get to retail distribution that they would have that higher level of minis.
Nosferatu has been unlocked,...... Undead Commander:
And the next of the SG released,.... love the look of these Naga inspired monsters!
The next SG @ $600K is said to be a big one?
Automatically Appended Next Post: *** speculation based on detail from the creators is a goal for all alternate gender sculpts for the heroes as in the first campaign,... but in this case; they said 19 unique minis in one SG!!!!!!
That said, it seems like they are moving to a pretty firm 20 minion/4 captain structure with the modules (presumably for 2 lairs).
Could someone show me the math for 2nd Edition, because 20/4 seems low? I'm also reading that the 24x12 tile has room for 4 Lairs and I'm not seeing that they can't be four of the same, did I miss a rule about that somewhere?

The thing about MYTH is most of the time nothing REQUIRES you to spawn max lairs/packs and nothing REQUIRES which ones you spawn in most cases. So if you wanted 4 lairs, nothing says they have to be the same. If you want them to be the same, you probably will need a lot more models. Most people would just do 2/2 or 4 different lairs.
The most I have seen is the 12x24 mission in the Eyeball guy's quest which has 3 Eyeball guy lairs. Apart from that, I have really never seen a quest or scenario which called for more than 2 of the same lair/pack so 20/4 will work for most players as that will allow a tile to be set up with 2 lairs or 1lair/1pack of the same kind and still have a handful of models extra for spawning. Besides, Minions die so fast, as long as you have enough for initial set up, you will be killing them fast.
The new module system is really looking nice with complete specifics on what to place and exactly where to place it,.... that said; you always have the freedom to do the adventuring mode, and the reworking of the quest cards is looking great (with setup diagrams on the back of each).
Oh, BTW,..... it's been quite a day,... now $485k is unlocked,...... @ 500k backers get the Gekti minions, and unlock that module in the "all-in modules" add on!
these minis are used for the Elementalist (the dark path of the Apprentice),.... he can become both the Avatar of Fire and the Avatar of Earth (Air and Water have to wait for the Master level expansion down the road)
Kind of sad watching this flourish while Deadzone continues to flounder, but that's a bit apples to oranges. MegaCon seem to really be trying to put this game's best foot forward.
The monk class should be coming real soon, there's hint of an alchemist of some sort, all the alternate gender journeymen figures (supposedly as a single stretch goal), and I'm sure MegaCon will probably start enticing a lot more people considering how much you get for a minion pledge at this point.
I don't think this campaign should have trouble breaking a million if they keep ramping it up.
I think that the changes that they have made to the hero card, item cards, traps, and now the new quest modules and the redone quest cards are really turning this into what I had hoped for.
It has been a tough learning experience for their first (a very ambitious) board game venture; but the $6 pledge for all new printed materials is a very reasonable ask that is not making them a penny.
They have put a huge amount of work into these new rules and components, and I think it is paying off. On top of that; the artwork of Keith continues to capture my imagination! I just love how most of these monsters are not stuck in the standard traditional archetype,

Gekti minions are in, and the module is added to the "all-in modules" add on! can't wait to reveal those next two,... once it gets to 8 for the price of 4; it will be hard to resist!
These Naga-inspired creatures are some of the best so far (even though not really snake like in any way),... this goal also added another lair to the molded lair add-on with no increase in price,.... It should eventually get to 8 unique lairs ones those monster types are revealed and unlocked over the next week!

Shame to anyone who would not want to play as Wong Fei Hung. That's just the alternate basic hero. We still get the male and female upgraded Sifu classes.
Plus updates to all the original alternate sculpts.
Plus an alternate gender/ species(?) for the 2 new classes. Also journeymen sculpts for the new classes as well. Plus their alt sculpts too.
Crazy.
650k gets yet another module unlocked, this time for a thieves' guild. There is also at least one more module to go, and there was talk of cyclopes getting a free module update/ commander possibly.
There's also an alchemist class still floating around.
I finally upped my pledge this morning to include the All-In Modules. Will pick up a few more things in the pledge manager for sure.
I'm impressed by how quickly MCG has turned around the perception of this game. Even on BGG, negative posts have a larger group of supporters defending (whereas a few weeks ago the ratio was skewed in the opposite direction).
Yeah, I'm pretty impressed by what MegaCon has been doing to change perception of this game.
They really seem to have taken some of the feedback to heart. The new cards, new quests, new rules, new everything...
The future of this game is looking a lot brighter. This campaign finally forced me to actually play the game after absorbing the rules for so long. It really is a pretty cool system.
What'll be really amusing is watching a lot of the detractors eat crow when the new stuff arrives. Hopefully.
More than likely I'll be too busy exploring sewers and fighting slimes and gators with the shadowless kick of WONG FEI HUNG.
Because if not, well, the Original Detractors were more than a little justified.
I guess it depends on the nature of the Detracting?
Ha!
The two major issues was The rules and the lack of direction. Patch 1.3 into 2.0 really wrapped up a ton of the rule issues. The design of the module with the fireborn gave the people who didn't understand or like the free-form play direction. Functional rules and narrative quests goes a long way to making people happy. I think the willigness to provide cheap or free reprints and reissues of models like the metal spriggan shows effort which other companies might not have done.
On BBG, anyone who was a detractor who gave 1.3 an honest go with the 2.0 rulebook has usually come around. I was upset at Myth and about a month before this KS, we picked it back up with the 2.0 rulebook and it has gotten to what I wanted from the first KS. Enough to motivate some Myth figures to my painting table and butt in line before some Arcadia Quest models.

Fireborne Minions:
Fireborne Captains:
And the Commander:
Just note: that you have to either add this separately from the add-on section for $40 or as part of the "All-in Modules" add-on for $120.
The $6 pledge has been consistently 25% of the total backers since the beginning of the campaign, and it's "interesting" that this ratio hasn't changed even with the "bucket-o-mini's" SG's. It'll be a good sign if this ratio lowers at 650K. Or it could be that these KS1 backers have plenty of stuff from KS1 and don't want to spend any more. The average pledge per backer is $177. Supposing the $6 backers aren't buying anything else, that means the $120 backers are buying $240 apiece, just under the $120 pledge plus $130 "all in one" module. MCG will also need 2K more backers for KS2 to have the same number of backers as KS1 -- although after subtracting the $6 backers, the number rises to about 3K, or twice as many backers as KS1 at a non-$6 level.
Another irritating question (this information is possibly readily available, I just can't find it). Does getting the base game and these 2 big expansions actually get you lots of missions/stories to play through, or would this be more like Super Dungeon Explore 1st Edition (where the structure of a game always remains roughly the same) with the addition of random 'event' cards?
I'm essentially wondering if I have to buy the $220 pledge + $130 all-in before I have access to more structured play, as my friends aren't particularly interested in a straight up co-op monster bash (as I own/have Kickstarted several others).
I think you're better off asking BGG that question.
Also, do you prefer the "adventure" play, where you choose the tile, monsters, and number of monsters, or the "module" play, where you're told the placement of the monsters, which tiles to use, etc.? The Hero pledge (ie. additional monsters) supports adventure, and the "All in One" add-on supports modules.
Next up is 19 unique hero minis at the $600k mark! yes, that's right,.......19!

If you are looking for scripted play sessions; that is what the modules are for. They will indicate with pictures and text exactly where to place everything,.... flavor and lore text as well as dialog and choices. The "Adventure" mode uses the quest card system, and while it is being revamped considerably (backs of cards have diagrams, fronts have all the rules in a much more clear presentation), it still leaves some setup decisions to you and your group,.... sometimes what monsters to choose; exact placement, etc. This is where you are telling the story to some extent, and following the basic rules for tile use and placement in the rules.
That $250 pledge is a serious investment; but it does also have years worth of content in it. If you are not ready for that level of investment; you may not get the experience that you are looking for,..... I'm not sure,.... I'm a big proponent of what the game has to offer, but it is not for everyone. I think that you should look at the Fury of the Fireborne quests on the MCG site to see a bit of an example of what the modules with be like if you are interested:
the Fireborne quest is broken up into three acts, and they are found in the Fury of the Fireborne Patch 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 files. There are lots of other bits and upgrade cards in the zip files; but read the three PDF's and you can get a feel for a bit of how the modules are likely to work.
They include new tiles, monsters, detailed scripted quests, and Adventuring Quest cards,... unique items,.... some will include a new trap type. Punch boards for tokens and tile chits, etc.
Thanks! I see, so basic Myth is more of an RPG-style "here are some rules for combat and levelling, here are some rules for monsters, scenery and traps, what kind of setting/story do you want?". Good to know.
Really though, Myth has both. You can have it totally open ended and leave everything to the discretion of the players (if you choose), or you can have set tile, set encounter, specific circumstances to deal with and receive set awards upon completion (if you choose).
The new stuff locks in those quest chains even tighter, but also opens up the free form stuff by allowing you the opportunity to pull bigger treasures that normally you would only get by completing quests (via the new capture/ interrogate actions with enemy commanders).
I know I have a low pledge (just the expansion boxes) but I'll be ramping it up when the PM hits. I am positive I'm not alone.
MegaCon were also dropping hints that we might see a full size dragon this time around. The one from the previous campaign was a "drake" I believe, and was more of a juvenile dragon. It's already also one of the tougher bosses you can face. Can't wait to get my face burned off!
Someone obviously more crazy than me made a picture showing just how much stuff you currently get.
I'd like to see this, but with the All-In module pack added. For another $130, you get +90 more miniatures (with cards, tiles, etc..) at this point, with it likely catching yet another module (wishful thinking it would hit 2 more).
And while the majority (all but the demons, right?) of the models in these modules will be duplicates, they actually carry additional value for people who didn't back the first game - you get a set of elementals & ratmen, meaning that you're just missing the Cyclops.
I may be crazy, but I thought I read somewhere the "old" races in the new modules (rats and elementals) might be new sculpts. Sounds familiar to anyone else?
I'm hoping a "mini" module for the Cyclops race (like the "Avatar of Shadow" that unlocked at 400K) that includes the commander. If that happens, I'll probably pony up the $20 to round out my Cyclop set from KS1.
I'd like to see this, but with the All-In module pack added. For another $130, you get +90 more miniatures (with cards, tiles, etc..) at this point, with it likely catching yet another module (wishful thinking it would hit 2 more).
You mean like this?
Spoiler:
I thought I saw something once about new Tailless and Elemental sculpts, but I think it was just my imagination- other than the Commanders.
There was mention made of a FREE cyclops module- lite though as a stretch goal. That would probably have a Commander with it.
ALSO- not sure if everyone caught this as it showed up in the KS1 updates, but here's the ticktock boss' full art. Supposedly the guy uses second- hand trickster gear.
MEGACON has really fixed a lot of stuff and upped their game this time around!
And other KS which are kinda stalling and having a rough time can't really blame happenstance or the economy or whatever as MYTH is showing people how it is done.
I understand companies want to make money, but consumers want 3 things from a KS:
1. Bang for their buck which gets them products for what retailers get them for, (40%ish off MSRP)
2. New content which wouldn't exist otherwise... People can smell fake stretch goals vs actual stretches
3. Exclusives. That is cool and all wanting to cave to the complainers about no exclusives, but exclusives force the hand of people who might wait until retail, or people who will take a lesser MSRP discount because they get an exclusive.
Super happy how this KS is turning out and I can say other running KS are getting less of my money because of MYTH because I feel this is a stronger buy and is developing content I want to be made VS barley a discount, fake stretches and stuff which can be picked up at retail later.
I'll add that the free mini's i got at adepticon were excellent board game mini's and just pretty good mini's in general. I'm seriously considering throwing in on this one which I wasn't before.
Yes, you just have to have at least the $6 level selected.
any "no reward" pledge like $1,... will not get updates or an invitation to the PM
this really is great for their company as well,..... as much as well all love more SG's,...... I think they really only have serious stuff planned to aroun $900 or $1M,....
and as their history shows us through Recon,... they will open those items and give them as free SG in the PM funding,......
It was pretty awesome to see more minis and a couple of full expansions come our way just by waiting for the people to finish upping their pledges after the KS was over

Here is the module in the add-on section,.... but why buy just the one, when you can have 7 (or maybe 8) for just the price of 4!
If you are adding sculpted lairs,.... you get one for the thieves as well!
New stuff right around the corner,...... add-ons,... new stretch goasls,.... stay tuned!
Automatically Appended Next Post: 4000 Backer goal announced! This get us the only missing commander to go along with the original KS minis,.... Sycline Commander. These are some of the coolest concepts,... instead of the traditional cyclops monster,... these "eyeballs" grow from a plant type of creature,... they then grab onto the head of some unsuspecting creatures,... like an Aliens Facehugger!
Just a few hundred backers to go,..... should be doable in the last two days!
I was hoping that Sycline would be a full module with minis as the first KS only gave 2 Captains and 10 minions. I know I can by a set of Sycline for $20 but a full module would have been covered by the All in modules. A well mustn't grumble too much they have packed a lot in already.
I think that if the Sycline module gets unlocked, you would be able to buy it separately if you didn't wan to go all in. Then again, with the value already at the all-in, it's kind of crazy not to do it.
I have nowhere to put the contents of a $120 pledge, but I do want to get the Journeyman rules and minis. Does anyone know if these will be available separately in the PM?
highlord tamburlaine wrote: That's what I had wanted for a Kraken out of Rum & Bones, not just a pile of tentacles! May have to get this one to use instead.
Supposedly we may see not one but TWO more ultra bosses like this, and if we do, they'd be stretch goals- they're done putting add ons up.
Right?!?!
Sounds like they're pretty confident we'll hit one, and that we might hit another.
I'm expecting a last day explosion like the first one.
I held back on a $6 pledge for a while, but this campaign has run so well, given more bang for the buck than I've seen in a while (possibly since the last Myth campaign), fixed issues on the initial offering, expanded on game mechanics AND teased a new game that will use the minis. Happy to have increased to a better pledge level and I'm hopeful that this project will fix my issue with playing Version 1. Doubt I can stretch to cover the modules at this time but it's very tempting.
From what I have gathered, there will be a full on module included if we get high enough (but not in the PM- RIGHT NOW). A siege scenario with a dragon army attacking the city they've mentioned before.
Dragon Knights, Razorfiendlings, Dragon Singers, and an Ice Dragon to round the group out. For free.
I'd like to see an RPG of this game, there is so much potential here that I threw in for a gak, yet again. I really love the aesthetic, and the changes do the game justice, now.
I really wasn't going to get this. The original rules were terrible, the models were nice, but the style doesn't really match with other game systems, and most of my stretch goals and stuff for the original are still in a box in plastic bags unopened. But the models are high quality and fun to paint, and 182 models for ~$140 after shipping is a great value IF they don't just sit in a box indefinitely. I did start painting the original stuff though last week, before Pillars of Eternity on the PC grabbed all my attention this weekend. But despite my intentions I jumped in at the last minute and at least I should have a nice collection of figures, and maybe the new rules are playable. Or I will have more junk sitting in my closet unopened..
Same ditto. After the +12 models at 926K, the KS2 $120 pledge is about as good as the KS1 $100 pledge, at the cost per mini, You still have to pay shipping, but if you were at the $6 level (you still have to pay shipping), you at least now have the revised rules and cards as part of your pledge.
MCG also said they will have at least one additional game that you can use these mini's for.
Remember to check out Dungeon Decor 2 for more tavern bling for your bar fights!
I think they underestimated how many people *WANT* both fluff and direction first time around. If I was in a group with people who want a framework to their own story, Those people would have backed bones and played D&D/Pathfinder.
This time, they have gone a long way to directed play. a solid 15 modules is a lot of content to play through as well as developing some cool universe to play in. I think people may want to play in the Myth universe opposed to framework their own stuff now.
Yes, this shift in focus had huge appeal for me, so given that I've actually had a chance to look at the rules and have seen finished production examples of the models, I felt fairly confident going into this one despite having missed the first Kickstarter.
That said, I do really regret how much stuff you miss/have to play a vast markup for if you weren't in on the first Kickstarter! $15 per deck of 30 cards? Ouch. I was at least able to purchase a set on eBay that completes the full 1/4/20 monster sets for the crawlers and orcs, and gives the extra map tiles/slaughterfield content.
I am seriously impressed with how much stuff they're promising this time, and can only hope they're not making a loss on it through sheer volume!
I'm sure that they have improved their economics this time around,..... I think that the average pledge per backer is likely greater than is was during the first campaign. they have more add-on that people want,... and they are not wasting money on coins, sleeves, etc. on every single backer,.... they are charging a premium for those things in the add-ons,..
BTW - those heroes were the same cost in the first KS (except the Trickster who was a SG),..... but here you got two heroes for free!
They kept almost all of the SG's as game play content and no fluffy things,..... the only "pimp my game" types of goals were to turn tokens into minis,..... no sleeves, no bling, no waste.... I personally loved that!
Here is the final windfall of minis:
yeah,.... that is NOT a typo! 182 minis for $120,... and many of those are oversized bosses,... and even that ginormous Ice Dragon!!!!!
Then for $130 more; there were 118 more minis, 18 tiles, and lots of items and quests cards in those 8 modules!
I'm not sure if they are inviting late backers to the PM this time around,... but if they do; I will be sure to post it here.
I added that pic above,... that should explain it,.... basically; you get the minions and captians rounded out to the 20/4 ratio with 10/2 in each box (The Fury box is the only way to get the deamons and so that one has the full 20/4 compliment),.... and you get the commander for each of those factions as a new unique mini that was not available elsewhere.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I should also note that the Rats and Elementals are models that were already available in the first KS,... so there may be some unneeded overlap there for some. (though you do get their commanders,.... so you'll then have one for each of the now 14 monster races!!!!)
The modules each have expanded stories that detail the exact tiles, item placement, non-combat activities and choices. Fluff text, and choice mechanics,... along with special reward items; andventuring mode quest cards, and bunch board for new title chits and any special counters needed for the quest.
One of the most exciting to me is that last one with the Ballistas!!!! sounds like the heroes may be defending the castle
EDIT: opps! sorry,... 15 commanders now with "The Rot" this is used with the infected crossover from Recon, and it sounded like some of these will be available through a PM acheived SG in the near future,..... though I'd imagine that they will also be available as an add-on in the PM as well since they were not exclusive at the time.
The kraken does, indeed, look very nice. I may have to save some money for it.
I finally played a game of MYTH last week, and it was a lot of fun. We played the "starting quest," and the game was actually quite intuitive after the first two or three hero cycles. I can't wait to try a real quest.
Can some kind soul tell me what I'd have to add, considering I'm already in at the $120 Minion Level Pledge, to get all the additional game content (i.e., do dice bags, tuck boxes, etc.)?
If you've got the money to waste, I'd say get the All-in modules set Alpharius. That's probably going to give you the most gameplay value right there, especially if you already like the game.
The Journeymen heroes from the first KS might be another item you'd find interesting, especially if you have any of them from the first campaign.
Nobody in my home likes the Skald, so that one may be getting a pass this time around. Trickster might as well for me, but Spriggan is definitely getting his JM class change.
Kraken could be a good choice if you don't have any other giant octopi monsters. Not sure how much replay value you'll get with one giant monster vs. one of the modules though.
- All-In Modules add on
- Any JM expansions for Alternate heroes that you already have (Trickster, Spriggan, Skald, Hunter)
- Any Tile sets that you don't already have - Tile Supplement #2 is the only new one
- Any Quest and Item expansions that you don't already have - QE3, IE2, and IE3 are new
- The Kraken (no explanation needed - that thing is bad ass!)
- Ia (sycline boss) if you did not add him last time
- Sycline add on is useful if you only had a single captain pledge ( adds 10/2 minions/captains to get you to 20/4)
- Agents (if you did not add them last time)
Everything else is fluff (even the sculpted lairs - which I love, but I wish were even bigger). The tiles ARE game play items in that some offer unique situations, blocking terrain, etc, and it has been confirmed that they are fair game to be used in the modules (many of which are being farmed out to other game writers).
Here are some added sculpt pics release these past couple of weeks:
Even more stretch goals have been unlocked in the PM funding phase:
Next up is the Cyclops Ultra Boss (I think @ $150k):
Next week will bring lots of additions to the PM that will open up stuff that was either left out or asked for by backers.
Examples:
- Monster Card upgrade bundle (for $2 this will update all the monster cards for minions, captains, mini bosses, bosses that were SG from the first campaing)
- Hunter JM cards and models (if you got the Hunter via the Recon KS)
- Card Only JM upgrade options for Alt Heroes (if you don't care for the extra models)
- Option to buy the old Slaughterfield upgrade (the Novice Wave Generator and Achievement decks are not given by that stretch goal above)
Lastly:
There are a couple of waves of specific email action that you will have to take part in to ensure that you get any add-on content form the first KS upgraded for free.
The first wave is for Item Expansion decks and Quest Expansion Decks. Later will come Alternate Heroes, and other add-on's like agents, etc.
!!!!Check out Update 81 that explains the e-mail that you have to send to begin the process!!!!
Other Myth material in Mercs included a Clockwork miniboss, an agent and a few Infected models, like the ones that were just unlocked as a Myth Pledge Manager stretch goal.
Please don’t be. Here is the full monty…gonna number to make it easier to follow.
1. The Minion pledge gives you stretch goals. In all cases, the pledge manager should reflect the main Kickstarter page. This text is being added.
2. If you buy an additional Minion pledge, it comes with all the stretch goals a standard Minion pledge comes with.
3. The “Cyclops” entry text in the pledge manager is incorrect. This add on is being corrected. Buyers receive 2 Captains and 10 Minions. You will find this information on the main Kickstarter page. As mentioned above, the pledge manager should reflect the main Kickstarter page.
4. Okay, here is a breakdown of what is in the 2.0 Monster card pack: all of the SG monsters from the first Myth KS, Agents (with associated cards), Ia, Conner, Twilight Knight, Keesi & Og, Razorfiend, Etrus, Torchbearer, and Donncladh. a. If you were in the original KS, Nikki will take care of the upgrade. See below.
5. The Journeyman Hunter pack is cards only. Novice will not be available in this KS.
6. The KS exclusive Journeyman Heroes Trickster, Skald, and Spriggan are only available with the miniature. Cards will not be available without the miniature.
7. The KS exclusive Novice Heroes Trickster, Skald, and Spriggan will be upgraded like the Item and Quest expansions we did earlier. Nikki will take care of the upgrade. See below.
8. The 2.0 Monster card pack detailed above and the KS exclusive Heroes Trickster, Skald, and Spriggan will be available in French. It will be added to the PM shortly. We understand there is a large contingency waiting on this. We just want to make sure the translators and ourselves are on the same page.
Nikki Upgrades
The time has come to do the rest of the upgrades. Email Nikki at journeyman@mercsminis.com. Send one email for the Monster upgrade pack and the Novice KS Heroes. She will verify your information through email correspondence and it will be handled like the quest and item upgrades we did earlier.
If you haven’t yet dealt with the item or quest pack upgrades, include them as well.
How long will the PM be open?
We are looking at October 12th as the close of the PM.
Cyclops World Boss
The Cyclops world boss SG unlocks at 150k. We are at 140k.
I'm not confused, but only because I'm not going to add anything in the PM. I'll pay for the postage on my updated cards from the first KS, and that's it.
I've played it once, using the old cards (instead of the fan-made cards I bought but forgot to bring along that night). I found that the game is fairly intuitive after a turn or two.
- If you have any content from retail/the first Kickstarter, then
1) you should have already emailed Nikki about the Item packs and Quest packs, and
2) you now need to email her about everything else (free monster card pack, free hero model & rule upgrades).
- If you don't fall into the above category, pay the $2 to get updated cards for a ton of monsters that you may or may not own (many of which were Kickstarter exclusives or cost $20 each).
- If you selected the $20 "Cyclops" add-on, you definitely only get 2 captains and 10 minions of that monster type.
- If you backed the MERCS Recon Kickstarter and are getting a Novice "Hunter" hero, you can pay $5 for the Journeyman cards. There will be no Journeyman models.
- Extra pledge levels are treated just like extra pledges would be, in terms of stretch goals.
It does seem much more confusing than it should be, I agree!
I haven't found it confusing at all, but I also have played MYTH and understand what each component does.
They made the add-ons and pledge points directly meet the need for people in various situations to get 20/4 minions.
There are a small group of vocal minority who are trying to weasel free stuff by feigning outrage and causing issues where there is none.
We have the people who don't want to pay for the KS exclusive Heroes but want the rules for free so they can proxy them. We have the people who want free elemetal/rat bosses and free tile add-ons by complaining that the modules are not 'all in' even though virtually all of the backers already have those two models or will get them via the JM pledges. We have people actively trying to lie about owning KS1 content in order to get free decks.
All of these things keep complicating stuff and have people floating false expectations to try to make issues where there are none.
I have been contacted 3 times by randos on Boardgamegeek trying to get help to steal content from KS1 via finding someone who has the content who will answer their questions for them opposed to just buying the content they don't own.
I found the following things confusing, first it was not obvious at least to me I had to contacted them, second I am under the impression add ons have changed and I have to review again the pledge manager, third I thought we would be contacted for this not the other way around.
Don't sweat it, I'm sure you can still upgrade your Item/Quest card packs at this point - send an email to Nikki and she'll send you instructions. I did it the other day - you just need to give her some facts from the cards. Once you reply and she updates your account, the relevant "2.0" packs appear on your pledge manager. .
I sent her another email yesterday about this next wave, and haven't heard back yet, so if it takes a few days, don't panic; she's probably got a lot to go through now.
It's definitely confusing though - I didn't realize the 2.0 Monster cards were also a free upgrade (and frankly that is STILL not at all clear), I had already added them to my pledge. I removed them, but now I have $2 worth of credit.
Megacon games communicate like English is not their first language. Or worse; I've had clearer communications in worse English.
PsychoticStorm wrote: I found the following things confusing, first it was not obvious at least to me I had to contacted them, second I am under the impression add ons have changed and I have to review again the pledge manager, third I thought we would be contacted for this not the other way around.
Are you not getting KS updates? It has been pretty clear IMHO.
For the most part, the only changes to the 'add-ons' have been the addition of the 2.0 content for expanded KS1 stuff and a few typos.
*Everyone gets Core 2.0 rules.
*Quest 1/2 and Item 1 cards Require an email to answer questions to get for free. (Update 82#)
*Tricker/Spriggan/Skald cards Require an email to answer questions to get for free. (Update 85#)
*KS1 monsters and Agents cards Require an email to answer questions to get for free. (Update 85#)
*Torchbearer/Spriggian Plastic replacements require an email to get replacement. (Not ready but coming soon Update 82#)
That is the entirety of 2.0 re-printed content and how to obtain them. You can either buy them outright via the added items in the PM or follow the process to get them for free if you prove ownership.
Final updates to the Pledge Manager happening tonight (it only inlcudes French translated items,.. So finish up your pledge).
There will be an update tomorrow detailing those last changes and the achievement of the Cyclops Ultra Boss, and hopefully some fun new goals.
PM is still scheduled to close on October 12th! Make sure you lock down your pledge by then!
Also; if you backed in the first campaign also, don't forget to e-mail Nikki at journeyman@mercsminis.com so that you can get all of your free 2.0 versions of cards for the stretch goals as well as purchased add ons like the Spriggan and Skald. They will also be replacing your metal Spriggan and Torchbearer for free as part of that process.
I was really looking forward to Myth but I've decided to give up on it. I went in on the first Kickstarter and did pledge on the second to get the 2.0 updates but, during the wait, I've realized I have WAY too many games and not enough time to keep one I'm only marginally interested in at this point.
That being said, if anyone is interested in a never-played copy of the first Kickstarter game (along with the upcoming revised rules and cards) plus a lot of the KS add-ons and stretch goals, PM me to see what we can work out.
Mods, sorry if this breaks any forum rules. Just saw the recent comments here and thought it was a good place to add a quick note.
FYI - you can view your pledge in the PM without unlocking to see if you free item upgrades have been added. They will be listed in the upper area of your pledge (just after your main pledge rewards) and they will also have the little gift icon in the price column.
That way you can verify if they have been added to your pledge.
Also: I think that they just set an "out of office" type of response up,.... so while you may have gotten one of these "thanks for your e-mail" types of responses when you sent your initial request about the quest and item decks, you wont get another one as you send more e-mails.
My understanding was that, like the Ice Dragon, this Epic-level boss has been added to all pledges of Minion and up! Also like the Ice dragon, you can't buy extras in the pledge manager.
The update also confirms that all pledges of minion and up are getting the upgraded plastic Torch Bearer model (irrespective of backing the first Kickstarter or not). If you're getting the v2.0 cards, this also includes the rules to use the Torchbearer! Nice.
In less good news for new-joiners, they've said that the only way to get the "novice" Slaughterfield content is to buy it through their webstore. So everyone's at Novice level of higher is getting Journeyman Slaughterfield content, if you backed the first Kickstarter you got the Slaughterfield map tiles, and you'll only have the Novice Slaughterfield cards if you added them on in the first Kickstarter, or buy them through the Webstore now. Confusing approach.
I logged into the PM to change my address, looked at all the add-ons, and came this close to clicking some. Then I remembered all the unpainted stuff I have from the first KS, and them remembered that I've only played once to date. It was pretty easy to resist after that.
Help please!
I'm about to lock in my pledge and it looks as if I've already got included "Trickster 2.0", "Skald 2.0" and "Spriggan 2.0" in my order.
Are these cards only, and I'll have to pay to add on miniatures, or is it all already included?
Also, I got 'everything' in the first Kickstarter, but without having to go through everything, did I already get "Marcus the Ready" or do I need to get him now?
If those are on your pledge with the little gift icon, it means that your cards for the novice versions of those are included for free (you would have had to communicate with Nikki to have this done,... typically showing info about your 1st Myth pledge,... but she may have been able to just access this via your e-mail address).
The only word on minis,... is that you should get a plastic version of the Spriggan (now based on how fulfillment works,... you might just get new minis for all of them,..... but the Spriggan is the only one that they said that they would be replacing).
Now,... If you want the Journeyman minitures and 10 Journeyman cards for any of these,... you will have to add those "XXXXXX Journeyman 2.0" versions separately (those only include the new minis)
BTW - every pledge will also receive a plastic Torchbearer minis as well (though not indicated anywhere in the PM)
(And I know it is a ways off, but I'm looking forward to the 'next level' in the MYTH game series to - Master? The art previews they've shown for that 'level' of hero look great!)
Yeah,... I think at this point it's almost assured that Myth: Master will happen. I think that the joint project (The Banner Saga: Warbands) will likely start next year (their MO has been to run things in the Spring Break time period).
They Said Master will just be one advancement path for each hero (so not another split like in Journeyman). E.G. - Acolyte split to Medicant and Necromancer. Now Medicant -> Saint and Necromancer -> Liche (or something along those lines). I would imagine that the Myth: Master KS would be slated for Spring of 2017.
yeah, they said they wont start Banner Saga until Recon is delivered, and they had to redo the minis on the game because the company in china used the wrong plastic.
according to the MegaCon gang; the mfr admitted their mistake and redid all the minis. At this point the base games should deliver before the end of the year, but that the stretch goals are about a month or so behind.
So I guess they could launch the Banner Saga at any time,.... but it was clear that they were ready to pull that trigger before the delay on Recon. I think it's a smart move to wait,..... if they wait until the Spring,... who knows?
I think they did mention rolling the final stuff into one campaign at some future point, rather than dole it out across even more kickstarter campaigns.
Ahtman wrote: Does this mean those of us that spaced on the second Myth KS can get into it still? Or is this just for the cool kids?
you have to see if you can piggy-back with someone (current backers can add extra pledges) or find someone trying to get out of their pledge,... There is a thread on BGG of people willing to help others on adding stuff,... but that really only makes sense if they are local to you) What part of the US are you in?
I've offered to help any in the general SE Texas area (I'm in Houston).
Also here is an update from Nikki from today:
Upgrade Update!
The Pledge Manager is still open, obvi. smile emoticon This is due to the guys working round the clock making sure they get the best shipping prices in for everyone. Once they've gotten them to where they want them, the PM will be updated with shipping costs.
In Regards to the paypal@mercsminis.com address:
This is solely reserved for those of you that need to pay the balance of your pledge in order to complete your order. At this point, they've all been processed, or responded to. Please do not forget to send the email back confirming you've made the payment.
In Regards to the Journeyman@mercsminis.com address. I am currently processing emails from October 7th forward. If you sent an email prior to that, please check your Spam folder. If you still find nothing, please let me know, here, email, KS, or any other avenue you'd like. I check them all, and will absolutely look into it.
On this same topic. Payments sent via PayPal for the KS Heroes Upgrades, are process along with the rest of the upgrade request. If you haven't received a response back, I am currently running at most, a 2 week delay time on those. So please continue being patience with me. If you've gotten the email with the instructions on how to do it, please do not forget to send me an email back with photographs and confirmation of payment. A lot of you, are curious why this is happening. I'll try my best to explain smile emoticon This process is for people who bought the product or an entire pledge from someone other that MegaCon. The fee we are charging is solely what it costs us to produce these items. We understanding your frustration about having to pay for things you've already paid for, but please bare in mind the payments were not us, so we have to make sure can get everything produced, distributed, and accurate. Apologies for any hard feelings about this, you've all been greatly patience and understanding with me during this process.
As everyday, we forge ahead to make sure the guys can produce yet another amazing game for you, we cannot thank you enough for your enthusiasm, patience and overwhelming support. Without that, this process would be far more difficult. The free upgrades, the discounted ugprades, were a small sign of how much we at MegaCon appreciate you all, and look forward to having you around for the next years as Myth just continues to grow, and gain momentum.
IN REGARDS TO RECON:
I've been asked a few times. Brian's last update was clear and transparent at where we are with that. Believe me, he will update as soon as he information of any kind to share with you all. Nobody here wants anybody to feel as though they are being kept in the dark. Once we have it, you'll have. That's the best thought to keep on, as we travel through the next months. Thanks again to all of our backers/customers. You are the backbone of our projects!

Looks like them may be collecting shipping now instead of waiting until later?
I'm not so sure on that,.... but it would seem that shipping costs are related to the PM still being open.
I'm less worried about speed than I am trustworthiness I suppose. The sad part is I am not far from MGC it is just that I thought the KS was ending later than it did.

We know it is still open. It is because the owner and our direct contact is on his honeymoon. Congratulations!
We have almost all of the shipping quotes for the 2.0 upgrade stuff (and base game from Hero level) based off of weight and size. The 2.0 stuff should be arriving at the warehouses soon. The base games are already there, ready to go. We are about two weeks away from charging shipping for the first Journeyman shipment.
I’ll have a detailed update on what is shipping and what options are available for backers as we close in on the shipping date.
Nikki is still moving through emails. She is closing on the finish line, but isn’t there quite yet.
Sculpts
The sculpts continue to move forward at a rapid pace. Some really good stuff here. Keith LOVES the Mendicant...I mean MendiCAN.
With final posing.
Boss with base sits/fits inside the commander.
Warden - Spriggan Journeyman
Symbio Commander. This model is freakin' sweet. Soooo creepy.
Mendicant - Male Journeyman Acolyte
Modules
Content from the design side is in a very good position as well. Modules are pushing hard with now and are moving forward.
work in progress
work in progress
Here are several logos. The modules are complete stories. They use the minis they are associated with and offer a lot of cool, exclusive content.
Outsider Card Art
All the Outsider art is done. We'll share more later, but here is nice selection...and it occurs to me that this might be the first time we have shown the alt gender Outsider.
lock it in fast if you have not already done so!!!! Early shipment options and payment for optional early shipment to come next week.
2.0 Material Shipping
Hey all. The pledge manager is closing Friday, November 6. You orders will be locked in. We will begin to pester those that have not submitted their order or logged in at this time.
2.0 Materials
The 2.0 materials are very close to shipping (by shipping I mean shipping to backers). To that end, next week, the pledge manager will be re-opened so backers can pay for the shipping of the 2.0 Myth materials. This is not an opportunity to alter orders. There are a couple important things to note:
1. Check your address.
2. If don't want your 2.0 stuff early, if you want all your stuff in one shipment, don't pay for shipping. If you want your 2.0 stuff shipped early, pay for shipping. We advise you pay for shipping and receive the stuff early, as this is the only opportunity to process and receive this material early.
3. The 2.0 Myth materials contain: 1 Myth 2.0 rule book, 31 novice Hero cards for all 5 Heroes (Acolyte, Apprentice, Archer, Brigand, Soldier; 155 total cards), 31 updated base game quest cards, 7 updated monster cards (Grubber, Muckers, Crawlers, Stalkers, Terror, Yardu), 2 Avatar of Winter agent cards, 12 trap cards, 5 ally cards (Marcus, Sarah, Archeron, 2 Fathers), 30 updated white item cards, 29 updated green item cards, 23 updated blue item cards, 15 updated brown item cards.
4. If you backed at the Hero pledge, the base game of Myth will be included in this shipment. The undead will be shipped with the second wave.
Translations
If you haven't added the translated materials, there are 48 hours to add them. German, French, and Spanish are available.
I am quite indifferent to their Myth atm so paying to get the the 2.0 materials is unimportant.
Actually they should be shipping them, its their fault their game is unplayable its their game out in the wild that is broken and nobody (exaggeration) plays it and it is to their benefit to change this.
Over BoW their new kickstarter announcement (yes, they are making a new one based on the banner saga) has 6 comments 1 is positive 5 are negative.
This early shipping option through the pledge manager turned out to be a bit of a disaster,......
The shorthand version of the resolution is:
Everyone will get the base game 2.0 upgrades shipped to them for FREE! (and the box game if you are at Hero level)
so check out the update,... hopefully your pledge was not messed up; I just had to go in a finalize again (no shipping was added).
The other bit of good news is that they are ahead of schedule on Journeyman base sets (the plan is for those to be available for optional early shipping).
Either way you choose to go,.... they will have shipping charges "part deaux" later on that will hopefully work right this time.
I'm not Yamato, but the 2.0 stuff is WAY more easy to digest and comprehend. I eventually "got" the 1.0 stuff, but by the time I figured it all out in a meaningful manner, the 2.0 stuff was announced.
With the shipping imminent, I plan on actually teaching everyone how to play finally.
Yes, lovely, if only they hadn't manage to mess up the pledge manager unlock the locked selected confirmed and payed pledges and insert more shipping costs.
I am hoping they fix it I have emailed them in the email they provided to fix this mess no contact back yet, I am expecting many are affected by this.
1.0 'works' but was hard to understand. Once you understand more how to play, the 1.0 materials 'work'. 2.0 rulebook and 1.0 materials have been working quite well. We have been playing it just fine.
Most of the changes are errata or balance changes. The only major changes for 2.0 are the explanations in the rulebook, the Quest cards which was the total re-do, and the new trap cards.
The game is totally playable with the PDFs on the website which have been around since fury of the fireborn and rise of the revnant.
Did it 'fix' the issues with the game that previously existed?
The 2.0 stuff is quite an improvement. Of course most will reference the rule book and how it is structured better,... includes things that were left out of the first one completely, etc;.....
But the real win is the new standardization of keywords on both hero cards and items. Keywords are now explained well, make sense, are clearly identified and bolded on all cards, etc.
This reworking of keywords has really removed much of the confusion during play,... but like any complex game, you will still find yourself having to read carefully, and really paying attention to some of the more interesting combinations and interactions. Once you start to learn how things work, the game speeds up quite a bit.
As mentioned; there were some balance changes done,.... clarifications on how to apply some bonuses and some stacking issues were resolved. In addition to that the new quest format is really nice and enables a much more elegant solution to developing waves or counters in the missions. They have also taken the opportunity to fix some of the quest distribution within the packs of quests. so, not only do complete quest chains now inhabit the quest sets, but they also added several new quests to the base game (they removed the "Story" quest cards from the game and added an equal number of basic quests. All around, a very nice addition.
The Traps have been reworked,... and I have only really messed with a couple of those, but they seem easier to employ than before and have as with the quests, they have the ability to be used on any tile.
Example of new keyword usage:
The original card only had the "Shield" keyword.
now you have many other options to selectively boost this based on the keywords,.... it's also a rage card now, and can boost other cards, etc.
These are proper interactive cards now,.... they were just poorly executed originally.
The update has also enabled them to build additional flexibility into the game as well,.... one example is how ranged weaponry is dealt with. Here, all "Arrow" cards in the Archer deck were replaced with "Ammo" cards, and the keywords on all other associated cards were changed as well. This gives them the ability to utilize all kinds of ranged weaponry with one ammo source.
some subtle changes were done to the "green flame" upgraded novice cards,.... where some were previously just additional copies of basic cards, they now have slightly different starts,... perhaps the AP cost was reduced,... or the damage raised a level,.... etc.
It should be shipping right now. the US bound supplies got to the fulfillment center last week; and with the decision to send this stuff out free of charge; I'd say shipping is either imminent or already underway.
Indeed, here is the answer,.... about to ship:
Backers have 24 hours to go into the pledge manager, and check or change their existing addresses. If your address is correct, you don't need to do anything else. If you've never entered your address or signed into the PM, you need to do so IMMEDIATELY.
After the 24 hour period, the PM will lock all orders and provide us with the addresses on file. The PM will be locked at noon EST on November 18. The 2.0 materials and base games of Myth (for the Hero level) will be sent out this week to whatever address is on file.
Once again, backers DO NOT need to pay for this shipping. MegaCon Games is paying for it. If you choose not to receive this shipment, the 2.0 material will be added to a later shipping wave that you are paying full shipping for.
You would need to contact Nikki ASAP,... As they are shipping all the 2.0 base upgrades for free,... I'd guess they are all going out unless you contact them (I guess if you won't be home or have a tax reasoning).
Otherwise,... You'll have an option later for early delivery of the two Journeyman Base Boxes,....
If you do nothing, you will get the 2.0 upgrade shipment now,.... Then would have to pay your standard shipping later for either one or two shipments (that has not been asked of anyone yet)
Because I frankly don't care that much anymore at this point, I will have my interest rekindled when the expansion arrives, but the chances of doing it sooner are close to zero.
So them going out of pocket and send 2.0 material for me is wrong, so I was wondering how I could select to have them shipped with the rest of the stuff.
To be fair; that artwork was thrown up late for a stretch goal, and was not a final art piece. It's actually much better than some of the quick sketches that they did at the end of the first Myth campaign.
MegaCon vs. Kenny...I mean the Kraken, part 1
So here is part one of the fight with the Kraken world boss, but there is way more going on here than just that. This video shows:
- Journeyman heroes in combat
- Kraken world boss
- Kraken being controlled by a player (Kenny)
- Darkness app
The Kraken's mechanics are still a work-in-progress, but they are close to final. We've made a few adjustments after this fight, but any adjustments at this point are quite minor. Hopefully, the video gives you a really good idea how a world boss fight works.
Note from the Kraken...I mean Kenny: He would like to point out that Tom cheated in part 1 and Greg cheats in part 2. He wasn't worried too much because the outcome is not really in question.
We had a ton of fun with this. Every world boss fight is a blast. Perfect little events at cons and such for players that know how to play Myth.
Sorry if the table talk gets a little too chaotic. I'll have part 2 next week. It was a heck of a battle.
Most US folks now have their 2.0 base set upgrades,... Asia has all shipped,... Australia backers are already getting shipments.... EU started shipping this past week.
Here is part two of the Kraken fight,...... I like how the App also tracks DOT attacks
So guys I got a question. I have Kickstarted quite a fair amount of mini board games for use in RPGs, and so I have organized my minis into some fairly broad categories. Stuff like ORCS, TROLLS AND GOBLINS or DEVILS AND MONSTROSITIES. So I have got most of my miniatures nice and tidied away.
Except for the cyclops monster things. I have been debating with myself just where I could categorize these guys. They're just a weird union between plants and monsters, so I just don't know what category I could make use of from them.
So if you guys were in my shoes, where do you think would be a good fit? Here's a list of my categories:
PCs/NPCs ---KNIGHTS & WARRIORS
---ROGUES & VAGABONDS
---SORCERERS & WARLOCKS
ORCS, TROLLS AND GOBLINS
DEVILS AND MONSTROSITIES
THE UNDEAD
THE BEASTKIN
BEASTS OF THE WILD
REALLY BIG MONSTERS
REDSHIRTS
INSECTS
RATKIN
MAGICAL ROBOTS
I guess we're close to shipping the first two expansions?!?
Update #124
Jun 10 2016
Shipping Due
Journeyman backers!
Shipping has now been applied to your account per your region. This is for the Myth Journeyman expansions: Shores of Kanis and Blackwall Warrens, and the card sleeves. To login into the pledge manager to pay for your shipping and checkout, click the link below:
Please note: No other stretch goals or addons are being shipped with this wave. Only orders that are completely closed with a zero balance (or credit) will be exported from the pledge manager once shipping begins. As long as you don't owe us money, your stuff will be shipped.
If you are a backer that has been affected by the PM dumping stuff that had been added and you paid for. Those things are being added back. Paying for shipping will not interfere with this process. We have a record of The elements that have been dumped. Those elements aren't being shipped this wave. This shipping cost applies to those things listed in the update only.
Holy crap! $85 for shipping! That's ever worse than Japanese retail pricing. I think I'll have to impose an austerity program on myself for the rest of the year.
It always mystifies me that shipping out of Japan is always quite reasonable, regardless of size and weight, but sending anything in is like highway robbery.
I imagine that it's because of protective tariffs or some such. I had to pay import duties on Myth 1 and Kings of War 1 after assuring the customs officer that the stuff wasn't available in Japan. It was the most difficult phone conversation I have ever had.
A bit of a thread necro here,... but as the two expansion boxes have been delivered; I thought there might be some discussion.
I'm generally very happy with the results. The minis are the same quality as Myth1 (returned to same production after the Recon problems), and the new printer for the other materials has done a great job!
The tiles are higher quality stock; the colors are more vibrant (the colored guide lines are much easier to see). the booklets are high quality as are the cards. The cards do have a slightly different feel,... and this could be an issue for those who don't use sleeves,.... but for me, there is so much shuffling of the hero decks that it almost requires sleeving (so it's a non-issue for me).
I'm really looking forward to trying out these new heroes and mechanics.
Can't wait to try out the Necromancer! What are you thoughts?
man, I know that feeling! not a lick of paint on any of this stuff; but were firing up a game on Friday!!!!
I have plans to really do these up nice,.... acrylic bases for everything so the board art shows through,..... once the JM stretch goals arrive it will be something like 500 plus minis all together!!!
I think I need to just start with the heroes and get this underway.
Holy cow! I'm glad you guys brought this up. I must have missed an email from Megacon because when I checked BackerKit it said I still owed them $12 for shipping!
When they said me about shipping Greece was under (really tight) capital control and I could not pay them so I will pay them for the next wave and receive them on the next wave, though they warned everybody that waiting for the next wave will be more expensive probably as far as shipping goes.
I will not paint Myth I view it as a boardgame and I refuse to paint boardgame pieces, there will probably be some exception in the future but I have not seen it yet.
If I was not into wargames and had a huge backlog I might consider it.
