Hello fellow game enthusiasts
I'd like to introduce myself. I'm working for small, independent manufacturer from Poland - Puppets War. As we are in business for quite a long time, there is a chance that some of You know us already.
Puppets War is a special kind of a company. We are producing miniatures which you can buy only at our webstore. We have small, but dedicated, team of people, loving what they do best - making new, interesting figures for you and your gaming needs. We have great webstore, many cool products and we do have many interesting ideas for the future. There is also one thing we value most - nothing is more important for us then satisfied customer. But, let's face it, our customer has changed, as the world around us. Social media are growing more and more important, as Facebook, Google +, Twitter or Instagram tend to group people interested in the same hobby and sharing similar interests. So, we have decided, that we really should be there, next to you, our customers, showing our miniatures and accessories and answering questions (well, most of them anyway. As you are maybe aware of, we run FB profile for quite a long time already. Starting this week we will also be present at Twitter, Google +, Instagram and selected forums, like DakkaDakka. We will publish frequent updates on the new section of our website, which will be launched soon, too. Our goal is simple - we want to show what we have next in the pipeline, we want to refresh memories of our older models, we want to be reacheable and close to you. So - see you online and stay tuned for next update.
P.S. You can already follow us on Twitter (https://twitter.com/PuppetsWar), Instagram (https://instagram.com/communitypuppetswar/), G+ (https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/112840391687734247297/112840391687734247297/about/p/pub) and on FB (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Puppets-War/159776737387320?ref=hl)
Have the miscasting issues been resolved? I like the look of their stuff, but am hesitant to order again. My last batch of stuff required A LOT of work.
Yes, some of our employees were active on the board in the past too. Regarding miscasts - as we all know, resin casting has its merits and faults, with potential miscasts being one of the faults. I believe that this problem is solved on our side for quite a long time now. Anyway, some problems may occassionally occur, of course. In that case, please contact me using this e-mail and I'm sure we will find a solution (communitypuppetswar@gmail.removeit.com).
Glad to see you here on a more official capacity and listening to the feedback of the customers, you have some cool and awesome products and hope to see more develop in the near future.
Dear friends
There is nothing more inspiring in our hobby, then seeing nicely painted models. It doesn't matter if we use them for gaming, or just as an exhibition pieces - expertly painted models makes our hearts beat stronger. Guess what? We want to feel this beating more frequently. In order to experience this feeling, our company will run a simple painting contest. Just send to us photo or photos of ours products painted by you. Every month we will pick one winner and we will publish selected entries on our website, Facebook and G+. This contest will run continuously - every month will mark beginning of a new one. We will, of course, remind about it sometimes too. Winner will receive 66 EUR worth voucher for buying products from our store.
So, to make it short:
- Take photo of photos of some Puppets War models painted by you.
- Send them using this e-mail address - communitypuppetswar@gmail.removeit.com - Wait for the end of montly competition...
- ... and, maybe, use your prize for buying more models.
Selected photos will be published on our website and/or on Facebook and G+ profiles. Our decision will be final, too. Like taxes This month's competition will run till the end of May, with a winner being announced in the first week of June.
Regarding casting issues, a couple of people on Bolter and Chainsword have posted their own versions of these recently:
Neither of them mentioned any issues at all and those models look complex enough that there would be the opportunity for casting issues aplenty. The users were a couple of pretty highly skilled hobbyists, too, so it's not like they'd fail to notice any problems.
The monthly competition is a great idea, might have to dig up that heavy bike I've got lying around somewhere and give it some paint.
So glad to see you guys back. I love a lot of your designs and have quite a few of your products. The last order I received was pretty darn clean casting. I will try to get some good pictures of my painted stuff up. And i need to paint some more.
Also can we submit painted conversions that use your products or must it be a 100% Puppetswar model?
Glad to see you back, Personally I hold you designs one of the best from "3rd party manufacturers". Waiting to see some new reviews to be sure that casting issues are resolved.
Ruined gothic terrain? You guys know exactly how to tempt me...
Anyway, good to see Puppet's War back. I've always liked their stuff. I'm currently convincing myself to get some of these because they make such wonderful 'all-purpose' sci-fi trucks, and have a good amount of build options (I love the optional cab upgrade).
I think that yesterday's photo was interesting, judging by community's reactions
So... I'd like to present our new releases, two great, new, resin buildings.
But this is not the end of our gothic architecture range. Next week, another version of cathedral will be available - one in pristine condition. You can preview it now, on this photo, where it stands next to its ruined version.
Please note, that all these buildings have holes for magnets, which makes making them bigger a breeze.
Very nice indeed. It does look a bit empty though; any chance of a (ruined, or not) altar, and a couple of pews (ditto)? It's often tricky to get that stuff together, all in one compatible scale.
I got a set of samurai heads about a month and the casting was very nice with just some small defects on the tip of the horned helmets. I've used them for wraithguard and fit really nice.
I'd love to see some infantry models for scale in those ruined cathedrals, as well as the church-themed scatter terrain. Not gonna lie, they look great!
And, just for a tease... one more photo of upcoming Cathedral model visible from different angle. Please remember, this Cathedral model is not yet available, it will be released next week.
Question. Do you offer the Ursus chassis to purchase separately? It would be perfect for a sicaran battle tank at a much more reasonable price than FW.
Ouze wrote: I've gotten stuff from them recently, casting quality was terrific.
This is great to hear! They are probably my favorite 3rd party company by designs. Now if their casting has reliably improved, there is no good reason not to buy more!
This weekend one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) Polish sci-fi/fantasy convention - Pyrkon - is being held at Poznań city. You can see some of our terrains finished for some games at the convention.
I was concerned with puppetwars quality, so I ordered a batch of conversion bits I was interested in to test it. The detail was as good as the pic, and out of the ~24 pieces, none had any problems, and the mold lines were minimal. I'll be ordering more fore sure.
I bought the Enforcer robot and some conversion bits. The bits were the cyborg invader heads.. they were too small for heroic 28mm so they're just waiting to be used as scrap on whatever but the Enforcer is nice quality. I've had previous customer service issues with Puppetswar and delivery times were insane but my second order was faster. It was the Enforcer I mentioned and it was missing key components. They were dispatched fairly quickly.
What I'm trying to say, quality is pretty high. Not the highest but it's up there. Customer service/shipping/order accuracy however.. I don't know.. hopefully they are taking the business aspects more seriously but I haven't had the funds for another order to test it out.
Last weekend the biggest Polish sci-fi/fantasy convention was being held at Poznań, Pyrkon 2015. Part of our terrain range of kits was used on games tables. Here are some photos showing mainly our newest model, Ruined Cathedral, in all its glory. It is accompanied by our fences and walls, roads, craters, etc.
Oh wow, that Cathedral kit really looks stellar! The metal fences are really nice too; I was planning on making a ruined park for my urban table! Thanks for posting the scale shots too.
Just a short reminder here. We are currently running our first monthly painting competition. You may win 66 EUR voucher for buying products from our store by simply taking photo or photos of our painted miniatures and models.
I will remind rules:
- Take photo of photos of some Puppets War models painted by you.
- Send them using this e-mail address - communitypuppetswar@gmail.removeit.com - Wait for the end of montly competition...
... when we will announce a winner. This first contest will run till the end of May (so there is still a lot of time to paint something) and a winner will be announced in the first week of JUne. Selected photos may be used by our company (we would like to show them on our website, here and on some selected forums).
One more thing - please take photos of only our models or scratch-built ones from our bits.
Photo of this lovely 'Flying Coffin' - Orcoplane was sent to us by Adrian. What are You waiting for? Now it's your turn
Few more photos of game tables made from our products, which were used during Pyrkon 2015. This time we would like to show more detailed shots of our walls, fences, roads...
With all the hype about our recent Ruined Cathedral release, it is easy to forget that we make other models too. One of my favourites is Cyber bike presented below. I really like scorpion-like look of it.
You can find it here:
http://puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=78
I have seen that bike before, but I'd never noticed the face. It's... very strange.
Anyway, I bought an Enforcer Battlewalker from Puppetswar in November, I think. Flawless quality and cast in nicely solid, weighty resin. The only reason I haven't built it is because I've been meaning to scratchbuild a sort of universal shoulder mount to fit Contemptor, Decimator, and Castraferrum weapons. What this requires is effort, which I'm terrible at.
Ruined Cathedral and Ruined Chapel, which were released a week ago, turned out to be quite popular amongst our fans. This time we would like to show something similar, but in more pristine condition. Ladies and gentlemen, let me show you photos of upcoming Cathedral.
Please bear in mind that this model is not available YET.
This atmospheric shot shows details of the interior of the cathedral.
Here you can see how the roof is built. As the Ruined Cathedral, this model will be customizable by simple adding or leaving some walls and roof parts.
Awww come on you said last week you were going to release it this week, I really want it and I have hobby money and I'm not afraid to use it.
Seriously it looks amazing and will make a great center piece my warmachine table, in fact if you could do some resin buildings to go with it that would be great.
A style somewhere between victorian and traditional fantasy would be great
Wow. I have never been so tempted to buy terrain before. That pristine cathedral is beautiful. I'm more committed to actually creating that gaming table I've always talked about. This would be the centerpiece.
I'd love to see detailed photos of (regular Dakka-ite') people's actual received orders. Advertising Showroom and reviewer's copies are always going to be treated much more kindly than "normal" customers' stuff. I've always loved Puppetswar's designs, but having been bitten hard by poor shipping (over a month to ship), communication (email replies taking weeks) and appalling casting in the past (I eventually got replacement parts, which were also riddled with issues - the whole lot has been sitting untouched in a plastic tub for two full years now as I just gave up on it all. A lot of wasted time, money and hassle. With this in mind, I'd be very hesitant to order again until I see a lot of trustworthy current feedback. I am heartened a little by the rep stepping back up to Dakka, so let's hope it plays out far better than before and that their game has been lifted now.
I really. really hope so, since I'd consider PW's designs to overall be the best of the Not-40k manufacturers for Imperial and Necron stuff.
@Azazelx. We are trying very hard to improve quality of our casts and models. Resin casting has its flaws, probability of some miscasts is one of them. But really - we are trying to minimize such incidents.
Both are excellent resin 28mm scale models, perfect for centerpieces of your wargaming table. Both buildings have holes for magnets, which makes reshaping them or making smaller or bigger a breeze! Photos show details of both releases and their scale in comparison to our miniature.
Remember, you can also find ruined versions of both new releases in our webstore. One more information. If the volume of sales will be right, we will probably make interior furniture for these buildings, ie. sculptures, benches, altar, etc.
skarsol wrote: So a heroic scale person can't even look in the windows?
The resin floor seems thick enough to get them tall enough but why would you go for the complete cathedral if you aren't going to fill the windows with stained glass?
Real cathedrals (and gothic churches) were built with windows set very high from the floor. We have had to take some liberty with the height of the resin model of course but windows position is accurate.
And now something completely different. Take a look at some of our future releases. Three photos shown here depicts upcoming new models for our Insectoid Swarm faction.
We'd like to take this opportunity to ask two questions: what kind of models for this faction You, our clients, want? What do You want to be released next? Please, describe some your Insectoid Swarm dreams, maybe some of them will come true
Hmm, I like the idea of biological models compatible with the machine models, because of the potential conversion crossover with cybernetic mutations and 'cross-breeding'.
Insectoid Swarm faction is not a totally new idea. In fact, one of our oldest model belongs to this range. Just take a look at this beast - Insectoid Living Incubator.

Just take a look what you can achieve. This stunning Insectoid Living Incubator was painted by Arnaud Codeville. You can see more photos of his excellent miniature here:
http://tnij.org/cou3h9n
Cool! Will there be a way to mount that to the Orc War Bus?
Yes, it will fit...
Automatically Appended Next Post: Orc Fly Destructor Turret is a correct name for our latest, today's release. Well, personally, I much prefer names like BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM or SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT. Anyway, my personal preferences doesn't matter here, so let's stay with Destructor Turret.
You can find this NEW release in our webstore here:
http://puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=420 Price of this four-barrelled monster is 16 EUR (remember - delivery worldwide is flat rate 4.99 EUR only).
This model consists of Orc Destructor Turret, four orc AT cannons and one orc turret base. As with most of our releases, this kit is made with holes for 3x1mm magnets, which allows for very easy repositioning. Turret is addidionally compatible with all kinds of vehicle weapons available in our webstore and some creative modellers may even mount it on the orc warbus model, as the turret base will fit there.
Those brave enough to stand in its arc of fire (and lucky to score many saving throws) may blame Kamil Kopczyński, who is responsible for sculpting this shell spitting beast
More seriously, we think that Kamil made a great job here. What's your opinion?
In the entry above we mentioned one of our earlier models, which seems to be a perfect mount for our yesterday's release, Orc Fly Destructor Turret (http://puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=420)
Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce effect of genius orc tek-knowledge - Warbus.
Our company, Puppets War, is frequently seen as a maker of fine fantasy/science fiction themed models. While it is true, it is not whole true. We do some models which are historically accurate or are very close to their historical counterparts. Just take a look at three selected examples of our sets of heads in 28mm 'heroic' scale.
Cover. Every good tabletop battlefield needs a lot of cover. Take a look at our upcoming new release, which will hit the store really soon. Ruined parts of gothic buildings will make a great addition to any battlefield. Play hide and seek with your opponent (but don't forget to bring bigger guns - preferably MUCH bigger, just to be on the safe side).
Man, you guys have been churning stuff out lately.
One thing I've been curious about is how well do your trooper heads scale with Infinity? I'd like to do headswaps, but pretty much nobody makes heads in scale with Infinity.
Our heads will be too big too - Infinity miniatures are sculpted in a different easthetic, you will probably have to look for some 20 mm scale miniatures to do some swaps (not too many fantasy/sci fi miniatures in this scale unfortunately).
insaniak wrote: Fine(ish) for Australian hats, but the New Zealand slouch hat doesn't look like that... it has a crown like an orange juicer.
Hell, I am surprised these fine Polish peeps even know about slouch hats, even if they are not up to the fine detail differences between the Australian and NZ versions.

We here, in Poland, do know about many different things. Not the smallest of them is the knowledge of brave armies and units. We were brothers in arms too, our Carpathian Brigade fought side-by-side of Australian infantry in Tobruk. And we tend to not forget such things.
Anyway - please take a look at our today's release - Church Ruins.
Are You ready for some firefight in the ruins of some old church? We certainly hope so! To make things easier, we offer just a right kind of terrain On a more serious note, our today's release is definitely useable on almost every table - historical, science-fiction or even fantasy themed.
Set "Church Ruins" contains six resins ruins, designed for 28mm scale games (max length of piece is 150mm). Yours for 17 EUR. (Remember, we ship worldwide for just 4.99 EUR)

I was going to buy a jetbike to have a crack at the painting comp, but there doesn't appear to be an option to check out without creating an account, and the store won't accept my email address (says it is invalid .... It's not.)
You wouldn't have a photo of your katanas compared with other swords? I want to get some for my Warzone Resurrection Mishima and Brotherhood but don't know if they'll be too big compared to the tiny WZ's ones.

No, we don't have such pictures and we don't make such pictures. You can see relative length of the katanas on this picture (there are 3x1mm holes visible too).

Sunday... It is evening here in Poland. I can bet that quite a few of us are having.... let's call it a bad day... Really, really bad. Cats are making noise walking on the carpets, fishes are so loud in the fish tanks... But it seems that this is not only mankind's problem... Take a look at those poor dwarves...
One of our earlier sets, Dwarf Hangover (five dwarves, 28mm heroic scale)
Who'll be the first to field a whole army of buttock-baring dwarves? Ok, a whole army might be overdoing it, but these would be great front-of unit figures. Counts-as musicians, perhaps?
Anyone know if we can order and pay via whichever squiggly value we want no matter where we live? I just wonder because the US $ is strong right now so the costs are way off. For example the dwarves just listed are $39.48, but if I pay via euro and my paypal does the conversion I'm only out $31.xx. I've been eyeing the bushi strikers, but between the old dilemma of casts, communications and price I haven't bothered. Now that you guys are back on here I'm willing to give it a go...if I can order it in euros or pounds sterling.

And here. at Puppets War, we are glad that You seem to like our drunken dwarves
Yesterday it was a fantasy hangover day, so today I think it is time to show that we do science-fiction bits too. To be honest, much more science-fiction themed bits then fantasy miniatures... Anyway, I'd like to show you - again - one of our earlier products still available in our webstore - Mechanical implants and weapons.
Set contains three different mechanical weapons, one mechanical arms set, one mechanical torso, two pairs of mechanical legs. 28mm 'heroic' scale of course. Price of this set is 7.50 EUR.
And one question. Which of the parts is your favourite? I particulary like chainsword arm.
It seems that mechanical implants are not HOT stuff lately
Anyway. TIme for a little riddle. This is our upcoming new release. Run your imagination wild and tell me, what is it? No prizes other then eternal fame, I'm afraid though
Competition time. Below you will find three pictures of our upcoming orc walker standing next to Enforcer Battlewalker (to see relative size). Your task is very simple. Name this upcoming product of orc-tek-genius. We will choose three names we like most. Authors of chosen names will receive this walker in chosen configuration for FREE. Please bear in mind, that this competition runs simultanously on other social sites and forums and winning names will probably be NOT used as official name for this model. Write your chosen name in the post below, contest ends tomorrow at 3PM CEST.
So, in short:
1. Invent some great name.
2. Write it down in post below.
3. Hope You'll win.
4. Contest runs till tomorrow, 3PM CEST.
5, We will choose THREE names we like most, winners will receive ONE walker for free (so, three names, three winners, one walker for each winner).
Automatically Appended Next Post: Or Dakka-Smacka bot
Ya see, da one with all the Dakka is a Dakka bot, an one with all the smacking bitz is a smacka bot, so ob-vi-us-li, da one with both is a Dakka-smacka bot.
Ok, ok, time for presentation of new releases and announcing new owners of three orc walkers...
First thing first - let us present our new releases for this week:
And three winners of Jax or Max are...
are...
are...
Tom Bisbee (Facebook) EnfORCer 2
William Taft (Facebook) Chick Magnets!
Smuttbudgie (DakkaDakka forum user) Battle bruiser
We will talk with winners from Facebook here, , we will contact You via private message. Smuttbudgie will be contacted via PM on the forum.
Congratulations
MLaw wrote: ...wow..interesting..names?!? Honestly those are kinda underwhelming for something this beasty..
Also.. where is the option for the guns and stuff we saw in the preview.. the options shown here are not what I would field in the slightest..
You can freely mix torsos with any vehicle weapons from our store. Additionally, weapon slots are equipped with holes for mounting 3x1 mm magnets for easy swapping weapons.
WOW cant believe i was one of the lucky winners and Thank you PuppetsWar for putting up a great competition. Think this chap will be right at home with my ORKs.
Yeah these are nice and glad that i have the chance to get one, I have picked the JAX as my prize and when funds allow (stupid car repairs getting in the way at the moment) i will be picking up the MAX version too. there are quite a few Orky things from PuppetsWar that i like the look of.
Well, here in Puppets War we certainly hope that you like our little orc cans of rusty plates
Anyway, have You ever wondered, what kind of vehicle Mad Morx would use? Here is the answer: Orc Buggi (15 EUR)
We'd like to remind one more time that our company is running first round of our monthly painting competition. You may win 66 EUR voucher for buying products from our store by simply taking photo or photos of our painted miniatures and models.

Hello, I'm Kevin, and I'm definitely the biggest model released by Puppets War so far. This is photo of me being caressed by one of my servants here, in the company.
http://puppetswar.com/product.php?id_product=394
On the more serious note - Kevin the Walking Jaw is REALLY big. So big, in fact, that it is not clearly visible on the photo shown in our webstore, so we decided to show it better here.
That's a really awkward size. Hard to figure out exactly how to use him. If someone was doing Orky Star Wars he could be a really fun OT-ST (Orky Terrain Scout Transport). Hm.. I wonder if there are any orky stormtrooper type armors out there..
MLaw wrote: That's a really awkward size. Hard to figure out exactly how to use him. If someone was doing Orky Star Wars he could be a really fun OT-ST (Orky Terrain Scout Transport). Hm.. I wonder if there are any orky stormtrooper type armors out there..
Now that would be a nice change a pace from all the WWII German Orks! SW Stormtrooper orks would be cool to see.
Straight from our steam-driven factory. Huge wave of new releases. There are FOURTEEN (yes, FOURTEEN) new products available today, and I'm going to show them all
I think it would be part 10 on Max's parts list picture.
What I would like to do with the kit, is bulk it up a little so it could be used in place of a Forgeworld Mega Dredd. Looking at pictures between your site and Forgeworld's, Max is only a little smaller. If I buy the legs and turret and bottom plate I think it would make him tall enough to be used that way.
I like the looks of Max better but with a closed cockpit and the price is of course way better!
MLaw, yes it will be possible to order just this one part. I will PM You tomorrow (I hope) with details.
Gals and guys, this is the last call for THIS MONTH painting competition. Just one day left to send us pictures of Puppets War models painted by You. Don't be shy, give yourself a chance of winning 66 EUR worth voucher

Cool, if it makes the whole thing cost more than just ordering the actual model though, I'd probably not be interested. I can't order in the immediate future either.. I am getting ready for a move and I don't want it to get lost.
Knowing that it is available is perfect though.

Suprise! New releases on Monday
There are some parts of our models, which seem to be popular for conversions, as we receive lots of question about availability of such items when they are not being sold separately.
To make things easier, we decided to release most popular of such items - Orc Rocket Launchers - as separate sets.
These weapons are available as a pack of six and a pair starting today.
Additionally, don't hesitate to contact us if You would like to buy some part of parts of any model. We will always try to find a way to help you with such a wish.
Well, You can buy me a beer or two for that amount of money We can even share them
But, first things first...
Last few notes were dedicated to science-fiction part of our catalogue, so I think it is time to show something fantasy based again. Quite a long time ago we released three interesing giants. All three of them are cyclops. What I really like about these miniatures, is a kind of mixed feel about them. Just look at the funny-looking faces and the poor victim in the two-headed cyclop's hand...
All cyclops are about 70 mm tall and they share the price tag - 20.50 EUR for each one.
Set contains parts for building five resin models of Insectoid Warriors. Please note that bodies and arms have 3x1mm holes for magnets, which - once mounted - allows for fast and simple repositioning or assembly and dissassembly of arms.
Models are casted in resin, they are designed to fit 28mm 'heroic' scale. Maximum height of the Insectoid Warrior model is 31 mm, measured from 'foot' to the top of the head.
Models were designed and sculpted by Puppets War Art Team.

I don't get these guys.. I like the design but what is their analog in 40k meant to be? I thought Warriors at first but they don't have enough limbs (Warriors still have 4 arms right?) . If they're meant as hormagaunts, they are kinda spensive for a horde unit. Are people using them as Raveners maybe?
EDIT.. I just looked and Raveners need 4 arms too.. huh. Well, I still like them for 15mm or other 28mm games where I get to make up my stuff etc. though the price is a little high.

Available tomorrow
Looks to me they can be built either/or. They look pretty sweet on their own to me.
Dear friends, this is reminder about our MONTHLY painting competion - June edition. There are still more then two weeks left, so it is plenty of time to paint something and to show us your work.
Here are the rules:

They're whatever you want them to be. It's not like the mini HAS to have four arms, is it?
Light Biker
Today I would like to show you one of our earlier models again - Light Biker. It is a sci-fi version of light cavalryman, complete with a lance or two guns. What I especially like is very natural pose of the rider and cool design of the vehicle - VSE Light Motorcycle.
You can buy this model as a single miniature (8 EUR) or in a pack of three (20 EUR)

Another competition! This time we want you to troll us a little bit Come up with some creative hate of our products. Author who will make us laugh will receive few new models from Insectoid Swarm range - 15 Insectoid Warriors, 3 Arachnoids and 3 Insectopods.
Winner will be announced this very Friday! Let the hate begin
Puppetswar minis? Don't get me started! Absolutely insane, just take a look at their 'Mankind' stuff. I'm mean, it started out OK. Marines for the space age, nice and high tech. Clean lines and cool guns were all well and good. But then it went downhill. All of a sudden you've got all kinds of add-on parts that are just nonsensical. Who wants their sci-fi troops to have Samurai helmets, or Roman-style shoulder pads? Or swords, who uses bloody swords in the future? This isn't the Dark Ages, this is science fiction, dammit!
And then there's the vehicles! 'Thunder Crow'? You can't just put a type of weather and a bird together to name a fighter jet! What next, the Storm Raven? The Thunder Hawk? And why on earth would anyone cross the galaxy in a starship to go to war on a motorbike? The Air Strikers were the last straw! What soldier in their right mind would abandon his perfectly good machine gun and pick up a jetpack, a sword and a flipping pistol?
Don't buy Puppetswar models; their designers clearly don't understand what proper sci-fi is, and it looks like they would much rather set about creating some bastardised Fantasy in Space rubbish. Utter madness, and I didn't even mention the orcs in space. Yes, you read that right. Orcs in bloody space. With space guns and space tanks made of space scrap, presumably!
You can always count on Puppetswar for new old re-releases and new head designs nobody asked for! In the grimdark future of Puppetswar there is only magnet holes and tons of troopers in the same armor but different headgear!
(I kid.. I really like the look of those helmets )
I don't really have anything bad to say. Your Alpha Troopers look fantastic and I am really looking forward to converting them for Infinity. The heads and helmets are great, and just the right size for what I am looking for. Especially the Alpha Trooper heads - Very Brotherhood of Nod vibe which I absolutely love.
Another day, another release!
Beware of fearsome Insectopods, our latest addition to Insectoid Swarm range.
There are two sets of these new miniatures available. You can buy it in a pack of three:
Assembled miniature is about 75 mm tall, arms and body have holes for 3x1 magnets. You can see scale comparison on the photo attached. Do You like it? As much as we do?
And keep coming all the comments in our contest, blacklist is growing
Gals and guys.
We have had a great time reading your comments and mems. So great, in fact, that we decided to give more prizes.
Main prize (15 Insectoid Warriors, 3 Arachnoids and 3 Insectopods) goes to Paul Cornhill.
Additional prizes (Insectoid Warriors set and single miniatures of Arachnoid and Insectopod) goes to Deh Weh, Adam Devitt and Paradigm (from Dakka forum).
Special mention prizes (single Insectopod miniature) goes to: Samuel McAdorey, Ben Turnbull, Saul Wright, Tom Long, Salebasama (from Dakka forum) and Capomaru (Dakka forum again).
We would also thank for all the contstructive criticism.
Winners, send us PMs with your address details please.
Hello Friends
Today you can see some of our upcoming models, let's say they are 'Knights'. We think that they look great but still we need your help. First, we can't decide what weapons should they wield. Second, should Knights be equipped with banners and shoulder pads or should they be cheaper and without them? (Such additional parts will be available separately in infantry accessories section of our webstore then). Last thing - do you have some proper name for them?
Leave your comments, please, as we are interested in your opinions. We will give one full set of such Knights to one randomly chosen commenting person, who will be free to add suitable accessories to miniatures too.
As for equipment: hammers and shields would be nice(sword/shield/lance are classic knight equipment though). Personally I would prefer the cheaper option.
As for naming, I do like the Cataphtact suggestion. Failing that, how about Cuirassiers? It technically refers to mounted armoured troops, but it's not a term I've come across in sci-fi minis before, whereas Paladins/Templars/Crusaders have been used a lot.
I'd offer them with or without the banners if you can, as some will like that more Gothic look while others would prefer something plainer. As for weapons, the ones there look good, but perhaps a plainer/less techy shield might be an idea.
1 - Weapons: I personally like the right arm claw/wrist blade and left arm shield.
2 - Accessories: Shoulder pads really complete the look on these guys. I think the banners should be left as an add-on though.
3 - Name: Most of your other Mankind units have short simple names, so continuing that trend, I'd suggest either "Keepers" (they look armoured enough to be mobile castles) or "Samnites" (after the class of heavily armoured gladiators, though the name also reminds me of Samson).
I was thinking the" Patriarchs " the founders of the legions, plus this would give relevance to their attire and their traditional robes and emblems.
As for weapon layout I was thinking embellished shields reflecting their attire, some kind of power Halberd and maybe one could have a power gauntlet as a commander.
def needs to be something Knight/Paladins/Templars/Crusaders related
errant-something
or
something-errant
?
EDIT: was looking for synonyms of the above for ideas, and found this:
'Oriflamme'
"any ensign, banner, or standard, especially one that serves as a rallying point or symbol."
seem vaguely appropriate given the banners attached to their backs - fluff could be that they are nigh indestructible heavy troops that everyone rallies around on the field...?
I'd actually like to see some weapons appropriate to the size of the armor. AKA- heavy anti-tank (beam rifle, gauss cannon, BFG), anti-heavy-infantry (plasma blaster, big-ass-shotgun) or anti-everything (Davy Crocket man portable tac nuke).
Keep them coming, please, keep them coming. Some excellent ideas here
And just for something else to think about - here is one of our future releases.
Our Striker model with special shoulder pads and a new head.
Striker Air Cav!
How do You like it?
How about "Crusader Vanguard" ? They look heavy enough to be in the front, blazing a trail into combat for others to follow. Alternately "Temple Guard".
I like the striker air cav... kind of like a lightly mechanized power armor for starship troopers the movie (not that horrid animated thing). In any case...
One release today but eagerly anticipated, we hope. 'Crusaders of Nnni' set contains five resin models. Bodies and arms have holes for mounting 3x1 magnets, which makes changing weapon options or repositioning models very easy.
According to your suggestions, we decided to release models without banners and shoulder pads. Set is cheaper and banners and armours will be available in our webstore separately shortly, so customers will have greater freedom of choosing parts they need.
We'd like to thank all of You for your opinions. They are invaluable to us. We will certainly release hand weapons such as combat maces, halberds and hammers for such heavily armoured units like Crusaders of Nnni.
Charles Davidson (from FB) was randomly selected from commenting persons and he will receive 'Crusaders of Nnni' set complete with magnets, and chosen heads and weapons.
We would like to thank Rob Holmes (FB again) for his name suggestion too - as you can see, we decided to use it. He will receive set of 'Crusaders of Nnni' complete with magnets, chosen heads and weapons too.
So have any Dakka members bought anything from the "new, improved" Puppetswar that they can share unpainted photos/reviews of? I'd like to see Para's stuff as well, though being a prize, his stuff is much more likely to be double/triple checked for casting flaws than a regular order.
Lots of lovely stuff being shown/previewed by the PW guy(s) here, but not much in the way of consumer-end products bought by us, which makes me nervous based on past experiences...
I'll definitely do a quick review of the ones I get when they arrive, probably here and in the blog. Even if they are extra checked it'll still be interesting (and probably lead to me buying some more if they are good).

I got a shipping notification yesterday I think. I will definitely let you guys know what my kit looks like when it shows up. (This will be my fourth Big Momma cannon)

The paladins use the exaxct same bodies as the ripper shown above.
We would like You to build a house of cards. Taller, the better. Please build a house, take a picture of the house and a sheet of paper with 'Puppets War House of Cards' written on it and post it in the comments. We will give ten sets of playing cards (the kind shown on the photo) to builders of the tallest houses. There will be also one special prize
Please be aware, that this competition runs on G+ and FB too.
Contest runs till next Wednesday, when the winners will be announced.
For a mini review.. I bought some of the little spiders. It took a month before I got a shipping notification then they arrived after about a week. The casting is really good. There is flash to clean off but no airbubbles and no missing detail. The resin is very even with no noticeable imperfections.
So in summary:
Shipping.. same as before :/
Quality.. Excellent.. but such small models might not be a good comparison.
Well, we thought it is obvious that no tape of any kind is allowed
Regarding buying these cards - not available (and I don't know if they will be available in store, maybe yes, maybe not). The only option to get them now is to build us a house of cards
And as it is Friday, it is time for another release: We hope you will like our new product:
Theophony wrote: You could always greenstuff the other side to fill in the emblem as its recessed.
I could also trim plastic rod to make the sleek ones match.. or just sculpt them myself.. but what I'd reaallly like, is if PW released numbers 1-10 in roman numerals (packs of 10 per number) with the number recessed like the emblem. Will it happen? Eh.. I dunno.. that's up to PW but I can hope
Sorry, wasn't trying to be snarky. Just a quick fix that would have left a smooth finish for transfers. If you were wanting the recessed numbers you should have been more elaborate with your response.

lol, I actually wasn't thinking about those until I started thinking about modding or sculpting.. my mind wandered into that territory.
Which of the three yet unreleased shoulder pads, visible on this photo, should be released this week? Counting from left, no. 1, no. 2 or no. 3? (model in the background has Air Cav pad, which is already available). Pick your favourite and comment, please.
PW- It might be too late for this but would it be possible for you to do a smooth pad with separate chevrons? That way we can trim off some to make different ranks? If not it probably wouldn't be too hard to just trim it off of the pad but either way.. it would be really neat.
If it's not obvious I like the Chevrons (number 2).
Following that, the Star in the circle (number 3).
Glad you guys are putting out so much product and that you are spreading it out across your ranges. It keeps a guy on his toes
Hi everybody, just thought I'd contribute to the thread; received my Orc Fly Destructor turret today, two weeks after order. Casting is generally nice and crisp, couple of small strips of flash and one or two areas of slightly "porous" texture, but on a par with other resin models I've purchased and nothing that normal prep won't clean up. The two inch long barrels are nice and straight, which is a new one for me with resin!
All in all, count me as one satisfied customer with some shiny new dakka for the boys, thank you!
Hey Puppets, do you think in the future you may make some more medieval bits to fit "special forces" with the longswords, halberds, and templar helmets?
Will you guys be offering a 5man Air Cav bundle in the near future?
It is quite possible. Nothing is set in stone yet but it is a thing we think about.
@Jadenim
Thanks for your short review, we are glad You like our turret
@Wyzilla
Hey Puppets, do you think in the future you may make some more medieval bits to fit "special forces" with the longswords, halberds, and templar helmets?
I don't know about Special Forces but such weapons and accessories are certainly planned (or already made) for Crusaders of Nnni.
And one more thing. Do You remember our little 'House of Cards' contest? So far only Jan Zimmer from our Facebook fanpage send us a photo of his card building and he has a guaranteed deck of our cards already (who dares wins).
We will prolong this contest till the end of the week, say Saturday.

And here is our building. Certainly, it is not Burj Khalifa but hey - at least we try.
Never built a house of cards before. Turned out to be much much easier with the MTG cards than with the glossy funny animal cards I found in a basket on my shelf.
I went back to the kitchen and tried harder. And I spoilered the huge images because I looked at my own post. Real submission:
We think that army of sergeants is cool but it desperately needs some privates - who would do all the push ups after all?
So, something for lowly troopers:
Got my order today, shipping notification came June 24th. So nine days.
The Big Momma cannon is nice. Probably the best cast of the 4 I now have. Unfortuntately rear piece they include is for their vehicle kit and they don't include the vent piece that used to fit on the back hatch of a GW Rhino.
I also got their dozer blade set. I fits the BMC and another is just a regular big honking dozer blade. They are both nicely cast. No imperfections where you would see them once mounted on the models.
When we released Crusaders of Nnni set, it was decided to leave ornamental banners as separate set, to lower price of Crusaders.
Today we released Crusade Banners as set of optional parts. Banners are casted with holes for mounting 3x1mm magnets to easily mount and dismount Banners on back of Striker or Ripper armour, if magnets will be used.
Once when I ordered a set of three cyber arthropods, they included what seemed to be an older version of the torso piece which did not fit the tail particularly well and didn't look as good by mistake. I requested a replacement, and in reply they sent me about seven of the replacement piece along with a large number of the tiny spiders. Needless to say, I am more pleased than I would have been if nothing had been wrong in the first place.
Congratulations Jan, who is more on top of these things than the rest of us. I'd submit for the painting contest if I could manage good closeup photos of my models.
I like the robed/caped Strikers; just the other day I was saying "if only they had capes"... I guess I pretty much have to buy them now... rather when they come out.
John will receive 45EUR code which he may use in our webstore.
As the hot summer (in Poland, Australia is different probably right now) is not the best time for painting, we decided to make single bi-monthly painting competition in July and August. So, grab your brushes and paint something, there is a plenty of time

I love what you guys are doing with the Medieval styled sci-fi bits. Your High Crusader helms, Armour arms, and Double grip widowmakers are perfect for my Knightworld Imperial guard veterans. It gives them the perfect armored look
Puppetswar, I'm in the middle of a move, but I will paint up some of your products and post for the next challenge as soon as we are moved in. Don't give up on the contest, it's a good idea!
