Ugh agreed! I wish I had more time to research how to use the camera better.

Here are a couple more that are completed:

Your work looks great! I would recommend maybe black paper rather than the velvet for a background, because it may reflect light less. It seems like your mini may be washed out by a flash too. Try without. Another possibility is to put the background much further back so the flash cant reach it. You see this in macrophotography of flowers and stuff. Finally, might try even closer to fill the frame with the subject(s). If you are selling your abilities, think of the camera work as your billboard. Bad pics = no work. Great stuff though!

Thanks for the advice Ill def try the suggestions! I messed around with the camera more this weekend and the colors look so much better then before, I took down the Branchwych pic and will post the new one up soon. Colors look so much more vibrant compared to the last photos. Still not 100% where I want to be, but I think it looks better.

Models look pretty solid, I echo the pic comments, Ive seen other people use light boxes that seem to really make the pictures pop, if your serious about do commission painting I think its def worth the time to look into, Im sure there is a ton of people on the boards that can offer advice

Thanks for the comment. They are actually in a photo booth I bought off Amazon. I got some advice from a photographer recently and he was saying I was actually using to much light. Unfortunately he lives in Texas and can't exactly see my setup. When I find the time I will try and work on the setup a bit more. If this was my full time job I would be more dedicated to it, so unfortunately I can only do it when I find the time.

Looks great! The closer you get to your minis the more likely people will start picking apart the details they don't like or the mistakes they see also!

I really love the Neraph and Proteus among others. The style of this is just really awesome!

Weird.. I see a blue tint on my work monitor. My home monitor thats optimized for gaming I see no blue tint.

What do you mean by blown out?

They mean the photos are over-exposed. It causes the whites and lighter colours to wash out and lose detail.

That was a bit ago... I think I based it with Ushabti bone then coated it with this pink Badger Minitaire ghost tint, then highlighted with gw emperor's children and maybe some other colors... can't remember :(

Nice stuff, as usual. Only real exception is the god-awful 3D printed terrain. I'd probably not bother showing that off. Stunning paintwork can't save a lazily and sloppily printed piece of terrain...that really lowers the whole portfolio feel. I'd say save those pictures for the client. While most of us know it's just a cheap 3D printer being used...it doesn't help sell your work.
