These are great but you might want to rethink the naming.
While 'sci fi dude in coat with staff' in NOT copyrightable, 'Gregor Eisenhorn' is both copyrightable (as a distinct character) and trademarkable (as GW made a product called Inquisitor Eisenhorn).
Simply removing the proper names, perhaps altering some details, and not calling them Inquisitors would remove many of the potential IPR problems you will almost certainly face from GW.
It's the difference between selling a doll called 'Mickey Mouse' and a doll called 'Cartoony Mouse doll'.
How much inspiration you can draw on from someone else's ideas is always a contentious issue, and I'm not a lawyer.
But I can definitely tell you that marketing a miniature using the names of GW characters is over the line.
streetsamurai wrote: In Russia they don't care about IP (rightfully so I must say)
There's no need to open that debate because we know for a fact that GW does, banks do, credit card companies do, pay pal does and, in this context most importantly, Dakka Dakka Enterprises does.
So a word to the wise - "Intergalactic Investigator with coat and stuff"
Hmm meant to write staff, but stuff works just as well.

Thank you for advise, really, but that is our agenda: yes, we can rename all our works and delete any iconic symbols of WH40K universe and miniature still will be great. But, IMHO, it`s important to tell about inspiration sources rather then disguise it.

PS: There in Russia we care about IP, surely, but we were simply MUST to do this guy, he is too awesome.
Both of them look really good, but something looks a bit off about the proportions on totally-not-Eisenhorn. I think his arms might be a few millimeters too long.
Darth Bob wrote: Both of them look really good, but something looks a bit off about the proportions on totally-not-Eisenhorn. I think his arms might be a few millimeters too long.
Agree completely - it's only very slight, but definitely noticeable.
Also, his head appears to be too far forward on his torso.
Otherwise, excellent, and I second the call for a totally-not-Amberley.
Darth Bob wrote: Both of them look really good, but something looks a bit off about the proportions on totally-not-Eisenhorn. I think his arms might be a few millimeters too long.
You scare us alot! We immediately chek mini. I think it`s an optic illusion on picture, bcose of stuff in his hands, that makes arms visually longer. And I assure you, that his head is perfectly in right place too Perhaps, we should make a better fotos.
The male one is AWESOME!! The female one just looks plain. I know GW does over the top stuff, but this feels the exact opposite direction. The male inquisitor though is fantastic!!
Any chance of undertaking a sculpt of Inquisitor Amberley Vail - that would be awesome.
Right now we have plans for one good friend of her, if you know who he is
So, not so soon, but may be in time...
Sounds good - will he have his aide?
We still in doubt - make him more in pathos "Decorated Hero of Imperium, who Know No Fear" style, or more Rinceweendish comic way.
Personally I have also seen the character as black comedy - a duellist pose with his chainsword would be fun (given as well as a nice contrast to the standard "propoganda image" on the book covers. Jurgan - quietly determined and lets face it no one wants tos and too close ot him.
Amberely has loads of fun potential sculpts IMO - Her golden artificer armour, her bodyglove stealth outfit, her torch singer and her Noble persona - gotta collect em all
to be fair there are dozen of Black Library characters that are screaming for a model!
Is the 5Euro shipping per package or per model? Is there a maximum for a package?
Oh, oh wow, not only is Eisenhorn amazing, the female comissar looks great (I don't understand russian, but I still loved looking at many of those comics ) but you have a WIP 28mm Geralt of Rivia... You guys are amazing

Thank you all for your kindly words and interest!
And today we want to show you another WIPs. Let`s get started with... hm, this guy.
He is old friend and associate for a grumpy guy with staff, who you can see in first message of this tread.
Early concept:
With helm:
And then we realized, that he is too tall. So, another variant, smaller a bit:
And with shotgun!
Don`t be afraid, this BFG is temporary
I was going to ask about the Arbitrator greens on your FB page. I know the one on the right is a bit big for 40k heroic scale 28mm, but as this design is a bit more distant from 40k, it would look great alongside 30-32mm scale minis in games like Wild West Exodus or the DC Miniatures Game. Is there any chance we might see both minis enter production?

R.
We discussed that last couple of days, and decided, that there will be both of `em - in different poses and slightly different stuff.
Some news:
1) There is final render of Comissar Ravel. Miniature is ready for production of master model, along with Bone Banshee, Muradin and Geralt the Witcher. So, they will be available for preorder next week.
2) Banshee also could get a company. There is some initial renders for them.
3) New WIPs for Chastener. Possibly, there will be squad of Adeptus Arbites with him.

New members of our not so miniature family
This is prototypes, from which master-models will be made next week (and probably we need another week to cast a first party of minis). If you want some of `em, just PM us, and we`ll contact you as first party are will be ready.
Dear customers from USA and other countries overseas! Sadly, but Russian post service (also known as Slowpostal) apparently experiencing some difficulties with the delivery overseas in recent. We don`t know yet, what`s the problem, but some packages stacked in St. Petersburg nearly for month. But don`t worry, please. We can assure you, that you will recieve your miniatures no matter the cost. Feel free to messeging us for resend or even refund.
And now, much more pleasant topics.
This guy… I don`t know what his agenda is, but I know for sure, that he have one… or two… or more.
And this guy here to chew bubble gum and smash skulls of Emperror`s enemies, and he is all out of bubble gum.
It's been ages since I read the Eisenhorn books. Wasn't there an inquisitor with a horribly disfigured face and/or a mask? I should probably re-read those books. Either way what you've shown so far is quite nice.
I absolutely love that you are continuing to create characters from Eisenhorn. I have bought two of those models so far (waiting on slowpost) and will continue to do so if more Eisenhorn stuff keeps coming!
By now we have two miniatures already in production:
1) Some familiar looking grumpy Inquisitor, based on illustration by Clint Langley. Size: 32mm to vertex; material: high quality resin.
2) Inquisitor Helena DeRoza, based on art by Michael Savie inspired by "Dawn of War II" character. Size: 30mm to vertex; material: high quality resin.
All miniatures is unassembled, unpainted, base included.
Cost for one model is 11USD, international shipping is 8USD for package. If you want to purchase some of our works, you can place your order via PayPal https://www.paypal.me/artelw, don`t forget to write models you needed and shipping adress. Usually, we send orders in a week or so, with tracking number of course.
General Kroll wrote: Your work is freaking awesome. I'd be very interested in the Banshees if you start selling them as a set at a reasonable price.
Will you be setting up a proper web store soon?
For now it`s just a single miniature (coming soon), but we thinking about some squad variants - may be.
We have plans about webstore too, but not right now.

My only gripe would be the scale. I'd prefer them to be just that touch bigger as they currently stand a bit shorter than an IG guardsman.
That being said, theyre such great miniatures I'm probably going to end up buying a whole lot more!
That's interesting to hear,Not Eeisonhorn should be a little bit taller than a Chadian at 32mm to top of the head

Any chance of a size comparison pic?
Actually its not as far off as I first thought, I think its more the proportions are more realistic with the Artel sculpt to the GW one. Images attached (hopefully)
I've wanted truescale Eldar for a long time, and I've wanted a miniature of the Dawn of War III Banshees since I first saw that trailer. I'd love to see more Eldar from you!

Thank you for review, sir!
About size - Gregor not shorter then guardsmen, but it can seems so because of proportions - our models are more realistic and less grotesque then GW ones.
We don`t hear any news about Commissar Ravel for a long time. Here it is:
As you can see, she`s almost here. And more: early concepts for Guardsman Titus miniature from Gray Skull!
Titus are going to bethe most variable of our miniatures so long: two heads (with/without helmet), two backpacks (standart and hellgun batteries), and all weapon variants you can see above.

Double genius points if you can sculpt a separate face and transparent helmet so you can paint it to make her face visible through the helm….
28mm version will be simplified, unfortunately, but we have bigger figurine in mind too. She`s too amazing in her baroque glory to be just a drawing

very cool - love the idea - good to see you have his chainsword as well as the carapace armour - nice. Will be purchased - hopefully with a helpful aide and sexy blonde Inquisitor - maybe evn with a certain red head regimental commander - hopeful emote!
About Chapter Master`s "tiny head" - we were thinking, that his bulky size is not the person, but his ancient termiarmor. So, his head looks tiny a bit when Master not wearing his massive helmet.
I think I like yours more even with the tiny head compared to the official version.
Plus Forgeworld's version's pose is fairly boring.
That is what I`m constantly saying to our artists - "this pose is boring", "why he is just hold his pistol - it`s boring", "we already have thousands of such minis - it`s not cool anymore, it`s boring!". They listen, from time to time
A Dame to Kill For finally here:

We are sorry, but yesterday we recieved first tirage of Chasnener miniatures, and the quality was... well, not that we can name "W". So we made a hard decision - to start this project again and sculpt it anew, until decent results. We just can`t sell product wich is below our standarts.
I'm going to have to get one (or both) of those Commissars.
Have you considered making a Rogue Trader miniature? No one makes one at the moment and I have ended up using the Inquisitor model from Kromlech as a proxy.
Something along the lines of this but without the boob armour would be great.
Would you go for a similar look/pose with the new one or try something different? Or just redo the parts that are difficult to cast?
Problem is not in cast (which is good, by the way, it`s from new workshop), but in sculpting, unfortunatly.
We`ll see, what to do.

Call me a killjoy, but I can't see her one-arming the bolter like that; her bionic arm would pop off at the shoulder. Something smaller and more practical would look a lot better.
(What am I saying, "practical"? This is a grimdark Gothic sci-fi setting where subtlety was the first casualty.)

She is a Rogue Trader, she can clearly afford to upgrade her Astartes boltgun with a suspensor

Once again you do great Eldar. I hope to see lots more in the future! Not only because nobody else does them, but because yours are actually good as well.
For that Farseer, could the rock be a separate piece from her cape? I always hate terrain pieces that are part of miniatures, and I'd like to mount her on a pin or something instead.

Those are some really amazing looking figures. What I don't understand is why the second figure (right after the Ork Warboss) has elf ears. They look really odd on him. Mind you I think everything else is just amazing.
That Chastener looks so much better than the original one that it's not even funny. It only seems to need to make the trenchcoat look less like a rigid block and more like cloth and you're golden.
Albertorius wrote: That Chastener looks so much better than the original one that it's not even funny. It only seems to need to make the trenchcoat look less like a rigid block and more like cloth and you're golden.
It`s an early WIP, of course there is a lot of work ahead

The Chastener look ace - but I *really* hope they will change the winged skull (i.e. him being a lowly Enforcer) on the right shoulderpad to a *winged fist* (or perhaps a fist holding a scale) - to tie him to the Adeptus Arbites!
I`ll be brief - meet the Warseer! Available to order at Etsy and eBay now, comes with weapon and head options (photos will be later). First shipments from September`s 21st.
Our most complex to assemble miniture so far - I`d give it 3,5 from 5, some skills required.
I love your ork warboss. Quick question for you regarding the sculpt though. Will he be larger than the average bob? An Ork warboss as he ascends the tanks supposedly grows in size and strength. Is your Ork warboss going to be a larger sculpt?

Let me tell you story First, we designed two size variants of this beast, our Chapter Master and Navy Officer for the comparsion:
Then, we`re decided to make the second one, as he is totally more impressive But, when we printed a test (we`re printing our miniatures before casting the master-model) we`re figured out, that SM helmets on his right shoulder were too small, compared with real ones! So, we delayed a production of this guy for another two weeks. to make him ABSOLUTELY HULKING STOMPING GARGANTUAN BEAST!
warboss wrote: Does shipping to the US really take over a month like the ebay shipping estimate says?
We were setting longer processing time to avoid overdues, as we have MANY orders lately, and we`re still very small company. So, answer is - it is possible, but, probably, your item will arrive earlier then estimated. And, if really you need to recieving it faster - just let me know, usually i can do a trick or two with priority`s lists.

I for one would not be upset if you did a mini inspired by something like this... or any of the ladies from the FFG40KRPGs. Without dipping into steampunk (and their annoying little hats), it's hard to find female minis for 40K. Guess we might have found out what it's the dark millennium...

Is that small as in bulk or height? The preview pics made her look too tall compared to GW minis for me.
Generalstoner wrote: How large is that Ork warboss? Is he Ghazkull sized? Dreadnought sized?
72mm to the top of the pole (whith rocky base). At the picture with "LEADERS" you can see their actual sizes in comparsion - and note, that Chapter Master is bigger than any other marine (see below):

Highly possible
Cool - as you know she is very high on my wish list! Are you thinking civilian, stealth gear or kicking ass in her artifcer armour (maybe eating pasties) - any would be great - all would be fantastic
Wow, those are gorgeous. The only issue I have with them is that their poses are all so unique - which is good, but it also means that repeats would be obvious if multiple sets were put together. You know, in case somebody wanted to buy lots and lots of them...
Still waiting for Macha. Depending on how much I'll like her I might also grab those Banshees, although I'd be really interested to see Warp Spiders. Is there any interest for that project?
Knight wrote: Still waiting for Macha. Depending on how much I'll like her I might also grab those Banshees, although I'd be really interested to see Warp Spiders. Is there any interest for that project?
I really like the Macha model, despite being a little small (or i may say slim looking) it fits perfectly along my Eldar units.
Also the details are pretty spot on.
Had some minis from raging heroes as Alternative Banshees, but after my pleasant experience with Artel and Macha, will probably get those too
I like the pose of the Savant - hunched over, attention completely absorbed in whatever data is coming from the device he's holding. All the important details of his face (the bionic eyes) are visible, because we really don't need to see all the boring normal grumpy man parts.
Probably tomorrow. He`s taller a bit - 33mm to the eyes, but as usual our miniatures looks "tiny" becouse of more realistic, not so "heroic" proportions.
Really love your stuff! Gonna be ordering that Warboss next year when I get funds
