INTRO
My Grot Rebels have been my favourite army for nearly 10 years now. What made me choose guard over orks back in 2007 was 2 reasons; First was Grots were metal back then so an army would have been absurdly expensive and non-ork units were very limited and not very effective.
So my thought was “what's the 2nd weakest thing in
40k?” and thus the Grot Rebel Guard army was born.
Since then it has gone through 2 rebuilds and with the release of 8th the grots are looking to receive some tweaks to existing unit, as well as some brand new ones. I thought it best to start a brand new project log since my previous one is 4 years old.

So what is in the works for the Grot Rebels in this new age.... well it's a lot of explosives I can tell you that...
MEGAGROTZ
Hardened veteran grots are very rare, as it should be. But like their former masters the Gretchin Elite gain access to the newest wargear in the Grot Revloushun's arsenal; Gretchin Mega Armour!
While not as durable as Ork Mega Armour these clunky suits provide the wearer with a powerful blasta and a personal teleporta.
These guys will be representing Tempestus Scions!
DOOM DIVERS
I'll be converting flight decks for my existing grot tanks for a pair of Basilisk proxies, each deck will have a Blood Bowl Goblin with a rocket pack preparing to launch himself at the enemy.
GOODBYE RAPIER LAZAS, HELLO BABY WYVERNS!
Sadly not everything has made the jump to 8th, my Rapier Laser Batteries were my main source of Anti-tank in 7th. However Forgeworld has changed them into single shot weapons so they'll need to be rebuilt to better represent this, maybe a large tesla cannon.
The old platforms will be re-purposed as Quad Launchers, the rough concept kind of looks like a baby Wyvern.
REMOTE TURRITZ
The lascannons from the Rapiers will be used for converting some Tarantula turrets, I have picture in my head of what I want to build, you'll have to wait and see what they look like.
DA BIG GRABBA/ROKKIT PLATFORM
This baby was converted in the last months of 7th however it's very low on the priority list at the moment.
Inspired by the
40k audiobook “The Klaw Of Mork” where Bad Moon Orks have have built a huge tractor cannon to pull down a comet to smash humies. I thought to myself “that would be the perfect Deathstrike proxy, must better than putting a NUKE ON THE FRONT LINES!”
So being the clever grot mek I was I decided to shrink it down and make a mobile version, designed to drag down a comet to crush the enemy with. This also suits the one shot nature as it will never have the time to lock on to and drag another comet down on to the enemy army.
You may have also noticed the anchors on the back of the tank, better to take precautions rather than suffer an unexpected flight
lol. I'll be also converting an alternative Manticore turret armament for this tank for use in more competitive games.
