and coming the first weekend in September a scythe/axe and a carapace mounted gattling gun thing

plus some non-knight bits

I'm sure you can guess who this is (revised sculpt)

Knight parts look good.

Are there currently any rules or weapon configurations that let you "legally" use those Knight parts? (Sorry, I'm a bit behind the times...)

They look fantastic, especially the breacher shield!

Damn it, I've literally just started converting the Plain shield and he's bringing out a scythe? need to make another order

As far as rules go, no, they're alternate sculpts for existing weapons and you'll need to counts-as them (Lance or Buzzsaw as Reaper Chainsword, for example).

Wow man.. really impressive stuff. That Notbringer is a bit too symmetrical/static for my taste.. but everything else is really cool. The barrier thing is ingenious. I've not got a Knight just yet but I'll have this bookmarked for when I do.

I've had the very same idea about embedding wire into resin to make smashed up concrete pillars and the like (not to mention the dozens, or possibly, hundreds of photos I have taken of those things for reference) so it's very cool to see the idea isn't so mad after all, I like those a lot.

Meh.
The parts that come with GW kit look way cooler than these.
Other parts just look too oversized, too out of place.

They fit a lot better than a lot of other 3rd party conversion bits.

Picked up a circular saw and back banner set.

Some of us really, really, really, hate the idea of building a full resin one of these, so the idea of having one that's mostly plastic (and has a way cooler shield, IMO) is very appealing.

Yeah I totally get that. But the size difference between the two is quite large. Will count of how your group/Local TO's/ect feels about that will be a big factor.
(Images spoiler tagged for size)

Spoiler:

The Dream Forge 28mm scale Levithan is spot on for the Cerastus Knights.
Spoiler:

(They are cheaper then the base GW plastic knight to boot.)

Personally I just see these as cool variant weapon choices, and options for upgrading the basic knight paladin/errant you might of bought before the warden sprue came out. Witch is awesome. It's also a way to get your two Gatling Cannons for the Chaos Knights. I would personally love to get one of thows lance and Board Knights to run as a knight gallant

So Taro needs to create some leg inserts to add an inch to the normal Knight then?

Hey, in my 1st post I super conceded that some people/groups/TO's will be totally ok with the size difference. That's totally Valid, and I'm not going to tell you/your group/TO how to model. That's between you and your local community/play group.

I was just commenting that the size difference is enough that I could see people taking issue with running them as cerastus class knights, so I wouldn't just ASSUME everyone is going to be ok with that. Please don't take offence, but it would be comparable to running a Castraferrum Dreadnought with converted weapons as a Contemptor Dreadnought. "Close enough" for some people, to big a difference for others.

Like I mentioned, I would just run the Spear and Board knight as a counts-as knight gallant. Even if they aren't great rule wise, they are fun combat loons all the same.

Naa old GW would have screamed IP infringement about everything, this was very specific about one symbol (was it one of their 'wins' in the chapterhouse debacle?), they didn't even bitch about their kit being shown in his photos

although it's still a shame

It wasn't even one of those "wins". It was a 1-2-1 copy of the Aquila down to the detail. GW weren't in the wrong for this one, for a change.

Taro Modelmaker

A simple yet effective add on piece for the new dominus knight kit is my new knee joint. Most of you will know I make add ons and kits based on what I want on my own knights. While i adore the new kits the new 'biggest knight ever' does not cut it for me. Esp when we were deceived into believing it was much larger then the current knight. My simple knee joint add on adds a wonderful 10mm worth of height and provides so much more movement from the joint. I for one cannot wait to cast a pair of these and assemble my valiant. Thank you to @duncan_shadow_louca for the 3d prints

the upgrade set with the missile pod and gatling cannon looks perfect. I have Renegade, and it means I only have 1 gatling and one missile pod across two knights.

Has anyone tried these before, are they decent? is it easy enough to magnetise (as I imagine I need to be able to switch back to battle-cannon or the melta gun thing)

Looks a touch odd to have all that curved front and side knee joint armour sat below the knee joint, but I can appreciate the effort and that it will solve some folks gripes about the model.

Yay, got my bell ordered! And went for the gattling gun carapace mount. Taro bits make for good fill ins for the relic weapons- The buzz saw arm as ravager, the gattling gun carapace as the relic icarus. The bell though, is going on top of Hektor when it comes out, with some shapeways armor panels, to make it really fancy.

I've put an order in for the banner/missile pod/avenger gatling barrel. I'll take some pictures when it all comes (should be soon, it's been dispatched!).

Is the bell just aesthetic? Is there a weapon/attachment that it can represent?

I think it's just aesthetic (but it might work for one of the relics, I'll have to check). There was a titan sized one in AT that contained the blood of the Emperor (IIRC).

Okay that bell is perhaps the greatest thing I've seen in ages. Didn't know an Imperial Knight needed one till I saw it but now I thing I will have to buy one and see how it looks in the flesh. I wonder what weapons it would look best with?

When Titanicus comes out I hope he ports some of this stuff over and gives us some new bits for titans. A warlord with a massive shield would be incredible...

Each set comes with a connector designed to fit directly into the barrel of the valiants harpoon.

Find them in store at www.etsy.com/shop/taromodelmaker

More items will be coming to the store soon! January has been a mix of sickness and LOTS of work. I aim to bring you lots in February.

AT scale rocket pods and Gatling cannons to make Wardens and power fists for proper Errants would be pretty useful right about now.

Annoyingly, I dug out some forumware metal knights I procured but a set of three only has two of each weapon spure :(

Paladin head replacements would be ace too for the full retro look.

I’m not sure if/when FW might get round to those bits.

Not so convinced on this one, but many seem to like it so

One of my latest releases is the humble waist extender, designed to fit both dominus and original imperial knight kits. This adds 8mm to the height of the knight and when combined with the knees for the dominus you will tower over everything! Much like the original waist joint this add on still allows full movement of the joint. Extra height and dynamic poses for the win! Follow the link in my bio or search Taromodelmaker on etsy

I've got his knee kit and a waist extension from a different company on my Knight Valiant. They really do help separate it from the standard Knight by making them bigger. It gives them more presence, too.

While I've been getting the new fists ready for the store I've been dropping a few hours here and there on this little gem Ever since I bought my first knight kit I've dreamt of chainfists.....now I'm a few tweaks away from that being reality! I've already made a few changes since taking these renders.

Fists are back in stock!

Don't have a spare Knight just yet for a fist, but I did snap up a set of candles (60 per pack) and a banner, because why not?

For the first of my armiger reveals let's start here! Introducing the armiger sized breach shield, you kept pleading with me and I've listened.

Due for release 'hopefully' in a month.....ish

Whilst we're on the subject of Knights, does anyone know if the regular Knight faces are interchangeable with the larger ones GW make (Valiant and Castellan)?

Yes they are the same size.

And it'll be interesting to see how shields will go with the Armigers, dare I say, Armiger sized spears are next?
