You should put this in your existing thread

Post by: manufaktura
MadCowCrazy, thank you for the suggestion.
Due to our other thread being strictly for NSFW miniatures, we thought it would be inappropriate to have our SFW releases and updates in there. We don't want to force those who may want to see our SFW releases have to wade through all the NSFW content, for feedback and discussion on this new line will vary greatly compared to what has been shown and discussed in the other thread.
We have been warned about mislabeling NSFW content in the past, so we wish to follow those guidelines and keep these two subjects separate.

Tomek

Wildlands inspired?
Does the head come attached?
107679
Post by: manufaktura
BrookM, thank you for the question.
The Strife Series was actually inspired by everything from Stephen King's novel "The Stand," the movie "The Road," various PC games (Wasteland series, Fallout series, Jagged Alliance series, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.), to us mainly wanting to move away from the way overdone post-apocalyptic tropes that everybody seems to have exhausted. We were just getting sick of seeing every post-apocalyptic miniature being released revolve around radiation/mutations, zombie plagues, Mad Max, or an out of control AI and it's android army.
We just wanted to create a realistic interpretation of what survivors look like after a modern-day catastrophic event, which has nothing to do with what was mentioned above, that had destroyed law and order on a global scale. People may use these miniatures as they please, but this was our initial motivation to create this series.
In regards to the head, it is cast as a separate piece. We have also included an alternative head that is unmasked, and the suppressor is completely optional on the DMR rifle.

Tomek

I'll keep an eye on this. With a head swap she could do for more realistic modern games, or well yes, just any sci-fi or post-apocalyptic setting.
How does it scale though? Is it "heroic" 28mm, or smaller?

107679
Post by: manufaktura
Thank you all for the feedback.
The hair was one of the more difficult aspects of this miniature, for reproducing the "blowing hair" look for resin casting was quite a bit more difficult than expected.
However, we are very optimistic that talented painters will be able to utilize shading and blending techniques to make the hair appear very realistic.

Nice sculpting work, but it definitely doesn't resemble "The Road" to me...at all. She's wearing a very modern tactical backpack, and using alta kneepads and a supressed accu-modded M14 w/ a serious scope on there. It's way too tech/equipped for a post-apocalypse mini to me. Looks more like an anime special forces lady.

Thank you for the feedback, Elbows.
Our inspiration for creating this line is a loose interpretation of the summation of such works as "The Road" and other works of fiction we had mentioned before, but without the explicit mention of radiation, nuclear war, or the inclusion of zombies, androids, or lame Johnny Depp AIs. However, because we wanted to focus on the time period of 0-2 years after a cataclysmic event, where the majority of the population has either been killed off or vanished, we feel that there would be a huge surplus of weapons and equipment, be it military and civilian, out in the environment for anybody to utilize. This would be very common, especially in the US, for just walking into a big box hunting and fishing store will easily leave you access to thousands of guns, hunting accessories, and boxes of ammunition. Just walking into a Walmart will leave you access to a healthy supply of rifles, ammunition, and snuggies. The same could be said for looting / scavenging of residential homes. We have quite a few avid collectors of high end firearms, so for one to stumble across military grade weapons and equipment in such an environment would not be a stretch, in our opinion. Plus, with the 1033 program, municipal police departments have easy access to military weapons and equipment. Just pull up some CNN footage of recent riots. You will see the police with some very serious gear, including DMR rifles (very similar to the one we have chosen for her) that were usually reserved for marksman in the military.
As for our female marksman miniature, we equipped her with standard issue equipment that can easily be found in any army surplus store across the US. It is up to the player to decide if she was ex-special forces, a former police officer, or a non-practicing divorce attorney who has one hell of a strong head on her shoulders, and who is very determined to survive.
In regards to the condition of her gear, we again leave that up to the player to determine. We took the GW's approach to this, in that we will produce our miniature to have equipment in pristine condition, which then can easily be degraded by utilizing weathered paint finishes or surface modification.
We are very interested to see what players do with this miniature, and the many that will follow her for this line!

This genetically enhanced warrior / soldier stands 38mm tall (from head to foot), and is scaled for 28mm tabletop gaming. You can leave him naked as-is, or be creative and add your own augmentations, clothing, or armor for a custom appearance.
We might be releasing an alternate version of this soldier with full interface points / plugs around his body for connection to possible exoskeleton / power armor.

Thank you for the suggestion, Malika2. Once the 3D prints arrive, we can take a comparison photo against other popular miniatures of the same subject.
Just as a quick comparison, a standard GW Primaris Space Marine measures about 39-40mm (from head to foot) in full armor. Our soldier stands 38mm tall (from head to foot) naked.

Thank you for the question, Fenriswulf.
Since S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is one of our main inspirations, we do have plans to release Eastern European styled miniatures in the future. We first focused on North American styled characters, and hope to incorporate other themes from areas such as Africa, Asia, and possibly South America. We have too much love for the AS Val & VSS Vintorez rifles to leave them out of our miniatures.

Frank&Stein, I am sorry to hear about your experience with the Global Shipping Program. Sadly, because of both PayPal's and Ebay very strict seller requirements for international orders, the Global Shipping Program is sadly the only way of shipping international on Ebay. We do offer cheaper shipping directly through our website, https://manufaktura.co/, but international shipping is still a premium price due to USPS not offering a cheaper alternative.
However, with that said, for our European fans, we have just started working with a UK based store, Figures for Sale, and they are currently carrying some of our miniatures. Please check them out: https://figuresforsale.co.uk/manufaktura-miniatures-en.
Hopefully that should help with the shipping costs.

Here is a quick image preview and size comparison of our genetically enhanced warrior / soldier that is modeled after a 7' 6" male.
We will also be releasing two versions. The first stands 38mm tall, and will work best with standard 28mm scale miniatures. The second stands 45mm tall, and can still work with standard 28mm scale miniatures, but is more suited for slightly larger scale (29-32mm).
We might increase the height of the smaller version from 38mm to 40mm, for initial feedback has quite a few wanting the miniature to be slightly taller.

Albertorius wrote:Hm... question: If the 38mm genefreak is supposed to be 7' 6'', and is the same scale as the gun toting gal... how tall is she supposed to be?
Albertorius, thank you for the question.
The 38mm tall warrior is meant to be 7' 6" for standard 28mm games such as Warhammer AOS & 40k, where his height matches that of a Primaris Marine or Stormcast Eternal.
The 45mm tall warrior is meant to be 7' 6" for slightly larger scales that use 28mm heroic scale, along with shifting height standards in the 28-30mm ranges. This one could be a base for a custom lost Primarch in 30k as well.
We just want to give people options for different scales.
The gun toting gal, Strife Series 02a from Manufaktura, is scaled for 28mm heroic, so her real world height would be about 5' 2".
Kind regards,
Tomek

Albertorius, you are correct that she is a tad bit upscaled for the 38mm mini (28mm GW scale... if you can call it that), for she was designed for 28mm heroic scale, which is pretty much 30mm scale, which is supposed to work with the 45mm tall warrior.

Thank you for the question, Theophony. Be it male or female, all our Sedition Series miniatures include a bald variation of the head. For Sedition Series 04, we have also included a third variation of the head for those looking for something a little more aggressive looking. Please take a look at this webpage for images of the additional variations of heads included:

Will these minis be sold in resin? Are there any posing options?
The nude primaris male and female give off a real post-human vibe that makes me want to paint them silver or blue and glowy or something.
J/k I’ll never get around to painting them.

The Sedition series are excellent!
I tried to order a few - but unfortunately international shipping (to Sweden) was super expensive :(
Also, as our custom fee and VAT are added on the total I would end up paying more than double the cost of the minis.
Guess I’ll wait until the Series 02 are released.

Thank you for the question, BobtheInquisitor.
Currently, all our miniatures are cast only in resin.
As for posing options, we might have some things in the works for 2020. However, we have seen some dedicated hobbyists do some truly creative things to repose our miniatures. A hobby knife and some green stuff go along way in the meantime.

We do have an authorized seller located in the UK. I am not sure about what they have in-stock at the moment, but it may be worth checking them out: https://figuresforsale.co.uk/manufaktura-miniatures-en?page=1

Please note the Primaris is not standing straight up.

There had been talk previously of doing a sprue of elf heads. Are there any plans to make those any time soon?
They are some of the best elf head sculpts I have seen, and I’m interested in using them for conversions.
A sprue of heads would be better value than purchasing individual models just to use the heads. You wouldn’t even need to sculpt different heads, just doing a collection of all the existing elf heads would be stellar.

Thank you for the question, Rimnek. We still do have plans for sprues of heads, but that might not be released until 2021, for we would like to offer a good selection of different heads along with different facial expressions. We will post updates on the project once we get started in a few months.

I'll admit, it's hard to see the cyborg part from the teaser. The gun part, I totally get it on the other hand.
