Thanks. You got that right about 3D Horizons. Best bang for the buck. Even a shoe box would look great using their bits.

eBay page:

Horizon Creation 3D

I will say this - the stuff is definitely printed and you can discern that on the stuff, but he makes some nice bits. Small items are reasonably priced and his plastic is pretty robust. If you want crisp and beautifully clean stuff you'll need to look into resin. It's not bad though. Particularly for dolling up terrain features.

This piece is what I call a "Geo-thermal power plant." A blinking tea light (Presently off) goes with it.
Made from a cherry tomato container, Legos, plastic canvas, and various bits.
Green goo created via a hot glue gun

An ongoing scrapyard project;

You have perfected the rusty metal effect, any tips?

Thanks! On the scrap yards pieces, I sprayed them with a red oxide primer. Then lightly sprayed with black here and there.
Coated some parts with Beil-tan Green wash to get that copper corrosion look. Picked out other parts here and there with silver, washes and other colors.

If I had to do it over again, I should have primed them in black first, then sprayed them with the red oxide. That would have gave them greater contrast and depth.
Such a noob mistake on my part, but even so, they still turned out pretty nice.

For other pieces, I use lots of Fuegan orange wash. Especially on white paint spots left on the pieces.
Usually a thick wash sentiment is at the bottom of the bottle. Dig for it with your brush,
and you will get a really nice heavy rust color that will stand out. Yellow wash is good too.
Dry brushing or sponge also with red brown paint works well. Be sure to use only cheap brushes for such work.

If you really want to go hardcore, spray your piece with red oxide, and let dry completely.
Then spray it with hairspray, and sprinkle kosher salt (Its bigger and chunkier that regular table salt.)
Now spray you base color over that. When dry, use a toothbrush and scrape the salt off.
Where the salt is removed, it will reveal the red rust oxide underneath the base coat, and simulate paint peeling.
I used this method on my processor plant and first building.

It's a messy process, so be sure to have a cover over your table, or do it outside, as you will get salt everywhere.
The easy thing about doing scrap yard pieces is its is impossible to mess up. It's rusting decaying junk, after all!

Thanks! I found them on eBay. They are O scale(1:48/28mm) pencil sharpeners. Cost $6 each. Check there or search online for novelty pencil sharpeners.
All I did was spray some red oxide primer and Hammered steel, and painted hazard stripes on them. Stippled some silver paint and slapped on a few posters.

Machinas Cucullus finished. (Though I know I will wake up tomorrow, wishing I did had added one more detail!)

It needs a nickname though. "Medusa", "The Thrasher", The Demolishler", etc. Something like that. Open for suggestions.

Escher Juve calls out to her Orlock boyfriend: "Romeo, Romeo, where are thou, Romeo?". Thus begins yet another Gang war.

So far I've had no real issues with the colors I spray painted or washed coming off. The plastic is somewhat wonky to paint, but I found that spraying the inside as well as the outside with a red oxide primer works. Any paint on the outside that happens to get scraped off, the red inside the box shows through, looking like rust. So a bug with the plastic turns out to be a useful feature.

The legendary "Honeycomb" of the Necromunda Hive. A nexus of ancient pipes and shafts that lead the adventurous explorer
to archeotech, precious untapped minerals, and/or horrific painful death. Choose wisely.

EDIT: I've realized the spider web on the shaft was way too bright for this otherwise grimdark piece,
and figured Necromunda spiders would have evolved to spin their webs in dark hues to blend in
with the pervading darkness of the Hive. Here's a photo of the updated terrain:
