Great Music @ 2018/07/14 04:24:31

Post by: StormX

Music that you really will love and enjoy. Alot of it is live performances , live performances IMO a lot of the time if you find the right one is usually far far far better then the original studio crap. Also these mostly(not all, but alot ) are IMO the best versions of the specific songs. Some have video some don't. Some of these links i think are the most amazing things i have ever herd in my life, but some of these links are more on the casual side and are not exactly what i would call worthy of being among some of the more amazing sounds you can find here, but they are still good songs but i try to keep "good" to a minimum and only post the amazing stuff.

This is how aliens communicate in space. This is the best, most amazing sounds i have ever herd in my life is on this link right here, i would personally nominate this the most amazing stuff out of everyt hing i ahve posted. This is why i say Jimmy hendrix is the best, i mean i have not been able to find any music that is on level that this small video clip here shows you. When i say same level, i mean musically the most what i can only think to call outta space / out of this world / beyond human ability genius. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lPQb7aVdvw - The full song is called "Machine Gun" which you cian find on youtube i think, i highly recommend listening to that whole song from start to finish, this small video clip video just happens to be the most amazing part of the performance IMO, but you really get the full understanding/feeling for the build up to that part in particular, but yeah you need to listen to the whole thing to really get the experience being delivered by jimmy. Video is 1:41 duration.

Epic Hendrix Performances.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbMkg8l-9zM - Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watch Tower LIVE - 1969 - Munster - This version is also extremely nice, but the one below is still my favourite at the moment. This is the best quality you can get for these rare live performances.

( Audience recorded ) All Along The Watch Tower - LIVE - Copenhagen BEST VERSION. - Jimi Hendrix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSzPDiV73Hs - If you click this you will hear angels and or pure magic. Jimi Hendrix LIVE Maui - Red House - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w39LSfMWom4 - Warning!, put seat belts or some thing on and hold tight, because this live performance is going to take you past Jupiter and back, im not joking. You must be patient and listen from the start and wait till past the middle, because the song builds up to a epic magical amazing alien solo, dont skip any thing or the song might be ruined and you wont experience the magic. Best way to fully enjoy and understand the sounds you hear from this is to close your eyes, and just focus on every sound you hear all the way from the start to the end, and thats how you will get the real experience jimmy is delivering. No other musician delivers such an alien magical out of this world experience, alot come close, but Hendrix takes it past what any one thought was musically possible.

Ride With Me - NElly - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AkxFgWCOe0 - Awesome chorus, sounds great. I personally try to ignore the rap in this and only listen to the chorus.

Could You Be Loved - Bob Marley - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3t6YDnGXAc

Frank Valli's voice is just amazing, specifically in these old live performances from the 60's and such. There are even better videos then this one, but i cant find it yet but will post when i do. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pWBnodrR1M The Four Season & Frankie Valli hits Live performance.

Ladies and Gentleman, i present to you some thing wonderful - Andy Gibb / Dont Throw It All Away - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBZe7uMQM0w / Another version which is excellent quality and also sung by Andy's brothers. Grease - Frankie Valli - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBVB3vHjKhs

Something airy about this song, sort of feels like the theme to the end of the world or some thing. Great song. Or it feels like a bit of a sarcastic view point of the world as a whole. Or its a quick slide show of all human history of earth for some one to listen to from another planet to learn about this planet we lived on to an alien observer. these are the feelings i get from this song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYOKMUTTDdA Shiny Happy People - R.E.M - Its amazing how one song ( generally just by sounds not necessarily lyrics ) can really tell a story similar to that of an entire book you could read.

I don't have many songs that I would hold up right at the top as things I listen to over and over and over and never tire of and which stand the test of time. However this certainly has - heck I used to watch the credits roll on Homeworld loads of times!

What is really odd is that its the only song from YES that I actually like. Everything else I've heard from them I've not been a fan of, but his one, this one song is just outstanding to me.

I like what these fellas are doing .. Might seem like plain ole metal to some, but these guys are from India and I like how they mix in different languages and also more uncommon things like flutes, while still having the right amount of heaviness.. and most of their songs have a positive message. They're also all independent and do everything themselves pretty much, as far as I know.

Some suggestions.

Shostakovitch's 8th String Quartet, dedicated to the "to the victims of fascism and the war".
Spoiler:

The 1812 Overture. Great fun to see, and better to perform.
Spoiler:

Desmond Dekker and the Aces - You Can Get It If You Really Want
Spoiler:

Kero Kero Bonito - Flamingo. No idea why, but it's good.
Spoiler:

Eminem - Rap God. Won't link, because of language, but still pretty great music.

Pretty much anything from the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I find that Heaven's Light/Hellfire work as a good contrast between the protagonist and antagonist.
Spoiler:

Barbershop is great. Either Ringmaster's Hunchback of Notre Dame or Vocal Spectrum's Go The Distance are the technically most skillful, but I have to give props to Main Street's adaptation of 'I Got a Dream' for being brilliant too. So I'm linking all three.

Thanks for your music posts really cool.

Yeah my favourite part of that cannon song is like the last quarter of it, nice choice man. AND NICE CHOICE WITH THE DISNEY MUSIC, my favorite Disney songs are lion king, circle of life etc and some thing else, probably snow white where there the kind of singing vocal/sounds we would never here in this day and age. ( as long as its the olden days disney, not any thing made after mabey the year 2000?. Nice

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GibiNy4d4gc - The circle of Life ( The lion King ).

Hans Zimmer knocked it out of the park in general with the Lion King score.

I think there's plenty of great Disney music in post-2000s films, the opening song in Frozen (Vuelie) is good (although based on on more traditional music), and it's hard to say Let It Go isn't an incredibly enjoyable song, as is quite a bit of music in Moana. Plus, if we're including Pixar, Michael Giacchino's score for The Incredibles is solid gold.

War Drone - what's lost on a lot of people today is that that flyby was one of the first proper big 3D views we ever got in an RTS game. Homeworld was a vast pioneer for its day!

That intro really blew people away who'd prior been playing on games like Starcraft.

Honestly I've yet to play another RTS that really told its story as well as Homeworld. Those early RTS games were really charming and I think the fact that games like Homeworld and Starcraft came with story books in the manual played a big part. Even their sequels of both games failed to really live up to their originals (though I also lay blame squarely on the fact that, in both cases, the writers of the second game changed big core elements from the first in the story)

Most of the stuff Radiohead did from Ok Computer onwards i'd consider great. Particularly Kid A and In Rainbows, they did a couple albums in between that were hit/miss in terms of overall quality but I don't think they were ever bad once they got out of that early 90s cheese phase.

So you want to paint? and you need some thing to listen to? some thing that is performed by a literal alien not from this planet "human"...? This person never ever plays a song the same way, its always a bit different. This person does have human emotions like, some live performances of his are pretty bad and some are absolutely amazing. Any way you are welcome. This is bad quality, but its not the worse quality. Listen to it regardless of quality and start painting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJ0CwSsV_Iw

1st Edit - BE PATIENT please, don't listen to just the first 2 mins in to the start of him playing and decide its not your stuff, take my word and just believe me if you listen to this for a good 10 mins or so....trust me....just listen to whole thing, skip the very start where its just the crowd you can hear.

2nd edit- Be really patient, alot of the start of the concert is not magical but it does get magical at various points through out concert.

3rd edit - I PUT THE WRONG LIVE CONCERT IN. THE NEW LINK IS THE CORRECT MAGICAL CONCERT.

Is any one here on Dakka a big fan of jazz that could recommend and really great jazz artists ( the older/purer/orginal the better ), i like all sorts of music, but theres a particular type of jazz that i dont know the name of, but i have herd it in my life, and its great stuff. Its generally a fast medium drumming pace, and generally i think has a guitar in it, and other instruments i dont know the name of, well bass i guess would be there.

Thanks all.

EDIT - Ijust never managed to "venture" in to the jazz music world because i am occupied with other music genres and artists and just never got around to it, and theres so many its hard to find the good stuff, so hopefully some one who is an expert will know and could tell me. Thank you. But i really want to take that adventure and see whats out there, but yeah dont know where to start.

EDIT - I love jimi hendrix, and his improv skills where he just does incredible things you never expect to see coming, that sort of jazz would be awesome. ( does not have to be eletric guitar )

Don't know anything about jazz, but no AC/DC listed? Angus Young has been doing guitar for nearly 50 years now lol. Could happily listen to this for years.

That's cool, thanks any way, im not a fan of ac dc, but i dont dislike them either, just not some thing i enjoy listening too, but i do like some particular live performances with Bon Scott at the vocals, very nice, but yeah i just never got in to them in a way where i would ever play a ac dc song for any muscial enjoyment, but thats just me personally, i cant help that. Don't suppose any one knows where i can find this " Roy Buchanan Live at the Old Grey Whistle ". I once found a great quality song off that performance, but like usual when i find amazing gak it gets removed after a couple of weeks. There is one version of a song from that performance on youtube, but its crappy quality and every where you search on the internet it refers you to that crappy quality video.

Im looking for one song called "sweet dreams", and its live at the Old Grey Whistle. Please dont send me the one on youtube by user "fritz". But if you can find it that would be pretty amazing, because i cant find the thing any where and its fething anoying. ( well i can find it but its always the crappy low quality version from that youtuber. ) Not long ago there was a much better quality version, but then it gets taken down by BBC, always happens when i find absolutly amazing gak.

edit - ALWAYS HAPPENS!

edit - It is this performance here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1go0hOCKuo - But the one i want is much louder volume and much better quality. The one i used to listen to was loud and crisp quality, this ones quite and gak quality and disrespectful to the arist and song.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
This is for you ( DAKKA ), if you are not aware. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmhAeaAGTBI

This is Jimi Hendrix, Live at Newport. I HIGHLY recommend listening from the start of this video all the way up to 2:49 and stopping there because its mainly the drummer singing after that.

And i would love comments on what you all think about hendrix's ability to do this, it is connecting with some sort of outside of this world force, what is it?

FWIW, the 'Russian' national anthem is in fact the Soviet national anthem, with different words.

IMO, the Soviet version is a better 'piece', even if you don't speak Russian.

All. Of. Their. Works.

Seriously. No other metal band even comes close. At all. Light years ahead of their competition. With only Judas Priest in second.

Metallica are still in the starting blocks. Because they suck. Not suck more than anything has ever sucked before. They can’t even suck hard, is how sucky Metallica are.

Its amazing how one song ( generally just by sounds not necessarily lyrics ) can really tell a story similar to that of an entire book you could read.

Check first post of this thread to see all links i have posted.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE - I am confident i have posted one of the most wonderful amazing music list ever( in not saying its the best ever, because i know theres amazing gak i still have not discovered ) ( still building it ), i hope you all realize i am trying my best to most of the time post the best versions of a song, and also just in general great songs. I am not just posting random bull gak for the hell of it. This music list ( IN THE FIRST POST OF THREAD ) is like clouds in heaven or some thing, just enjoy spending hours enjoying all this amazing gak.r gak ). This is for my own convenience and for others who may never come across such beautiful songs if it were not for this list. Its for my convenience because i have never listed all my favorite songs before ( and most of these songs are just ones i remember from memory, so i love to put it on the list so i never forget them ever ), i dont own any of these songs on disc or on my computer, so i enjoy coming back to this list and selecting out of the A++ selection, and i feel i am doing a great favor by introducing great sounds you might not have other wise herd ( yes i realize most people have herd all the stuff i have posted, but who knows, better to just show them instead of never mentioning them and having the risk of some one going through there whole lives not even knowing this gak exists.

But i do have my own list of jimmy Hendrix music that i have on my computer, but there are no youtube links for them ( as i once explained, alot of good Hendrix material is often taken off the web or you tube shortly after appearing, you can even check the first post of this thread where i say in regards to a link i posted " you might want to check this quick before YouTube deletes this masterpiece", and if you click that link, guess what, its not longer available. So that's why there's not much Hendrix here, but i have posted some good gak that i have found and you can find on the list. And i will always post any amazing hendrix stuff that i find on youtube, but as i say it doesn't stay up for long in alot of cases ( referring to the real magical amazing gak ). But thats not to say there is not amazing gak to be found on YouTube, because there is, just not all of it. ( Although some music websites have some of the stuff you wont find on youtube, so yeah, but you have to login to play it etc, so thats why im sticking with youtube links. )

I am always discovering wonderful sounds i have never herd before, or have herd but completely forgotten about, so i will always add any thing like that to this thread.

I also like to share this music that i think you will love as a way to thank everyone for participating in some thing like dakka.

Seriously. No other metal band even comes close. At all. Light years ahead of their competition. With only Judas Priest in second.

Metallica are still in the starting blocks. Because they suck. Not suck more than anything has ever sucked before. They can’t even suck hard, is how sucky Metallica are.

Opions may vary on this i think. Both bands are good, and none of their last shows I have seen seems to contradict this.

Lol, bro... you liked Last Jedi. Your opinion on anything artistic is at best questionable. Metallica is one of the most influential metal bands in the history of the genre, pioneered thrash metal alongside other metal icons Anthrax, Megadeth, and Slayer. They're one of the most successful bands in history despite minimal airplay and exposure in the 80s, hell they were already huge before they even did their first music video. It's cool if you don't like them, I for one can't stand Red Hot Chili Peppers but I'd never say they suck. They're a talented group of musicians, just not my cup of tea. If you don't think the caliber of musicianship in Metallica is noteworthy (zing!) I'd recommend you listen to just about anything on Puppets or Justice.

I will second the nomination for Iron Maiden though, great band. Megadeth, early Pantera, and a couple of Slayer records are good too (I like Seasons in the Abyss and South of Heaven, the rest of their discography is pretty forgettable IMO). Testament is also very hit or miss with me, most of their records seem to have an equal measure of fairly good and fairly forgettable material.

Oh feth, you people will love this maybe ( i do ), i just remmebered it, its "White Rabbit" except its a guitar solo pretty much the whole way through, Grace Slick comes in at 4:51 AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STOPPING VIDEO at this mark, because its a gak performance from her on this video, but its a great performance for the guitarist. So yeah i really am addicted to this video, have played it alot, but i always stop it at 4:51 and end the video there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdoLcgxvf98 - Its not a mind blowing guitar solo or any thing, but its just nice to listen to.
