I like building chimera with the push back turret so it was no big deal. I also had a couple of there alternate chimera tops and turrets, but I'm going to put a regular kit turret or the jimbolina turret on this puppy.
Correct but you can push back a regular top too. You have to shorten the top hull part on a regular chimera kit when you do that, and you end up with a small gap which is easy to cover with the hull extension bit that is part of the basilisk kit that is in the normal chimera kit. Although in this case I just used a pit of filler.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Using the Capricorn top I ended up with a good sized gap which I covered by using a portion of that bit that is leftover from building a regular chimera. I must admit I love how the backend of the 8 wheeled kit came out.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Here is an example of the Capricorn in a more normal configuration.

My "special forces" marines (Grey knights and Deathwatch) have wheeled transports. I've been using the Chapter House wheeled conversion kit for my Grey Knights Razorbacks. I decided my Deathwatch needed something a little different, so this kit will serve as a basis for their Razorbacks.
Well he also sells the same kit with a extra small turret with a gun. That could be used for a salamander variant. The open top kit would just be an open top chimera with only a single hull mounted weapon. Though it shouldn't be too hard to ad some form of Pintel mounted weapon in the back. Personally I'm either going to use it as an under gunned PDF type transport, or add a pintel mounted multi laser.
He's been putting out a bunch of new stuff lately - particularly good looking stuff. I have a bucket load of B&I stuff on my Chaos Marines. It's been 90% good, 10% poor, just some random bits aren't wonderful - but that's dealing with resin. His prices aren't amazing, but they're very reasonable. You start adding little bits and weapons and you suddenly end up with an $80 order of resin.
Would highly recommend most of his kits/products. Particularly because his weapon sponsons etc. are all set up for magnetized weapons. He covers a lot of Forgeworld weapon options for vehicles as well. Good stuff.
I was wondering why I had an uptick in Barmkin sales
Yes I have been busy with some new stuff. I have a whole line of Rear Engine Plates that go onto the back of Leman Russes and a cool set of wrap around treads that fit between the side panels of both the Russ and the Chimera.

Elbows, thanks for being a customer! Let me know what parts were not up to snuff and I can get you some replacements. Just send me a PM
It's all good. Just "resin" stuff. Some minor warping, a couple things that came in a bit of a shiny/doesn't-like-paint resin, etc. I was able to make use of all of them. Enough elbow grease can make anything work. You did sort out an issue for me when I was missing an item or two in an order. I've zero issue spending money at Blood and Skulls

Thanks!

Sorry it's not the cleanest build, started at 11pm and was done at 3am. Note for the next one I'm leaving the little remove brace on until it's fully assembled.
The new tank back plates are a dream, especially with the extra armour kit that just so happens to fit a Leman Russ. I'd kill for some sort of extra armour for the front of the tank now, maybe with an armoured drivers hatch or something.

It's funny you should mention that. I just happen to have something at the printers you may like....
I also have this old school project going on at the shop. Any guesses what it is?
I've been slowly working on an Ork looted tank army.
Your stuff made the process so much easier.
I outfitted 4 Leman Russ tanks with main turret and gun, sponsons with weapons, fuel tanks and engines, and the little detail set. Everything was well cast and went together without issue.
I ordered more sponsons and engines for some Macharius tanks.
If I build any more Russes, I will definitely try out the tracks too.
An chance of orky plasma or lascanon for sponsons?
Theophony wrote:A four side turret...turret for the stormlord with spot on top for a fifth turret
Yeah that's about it in a nutshell

Nice! I'd love to see pics when you get them done
Yes, an Orky laser cannon and plasma cannon are on the list of things to do. I was just holding off until I got a feel of how this line of products was going to do.

Hmmm well I guess I'll have to just leave this one half built for now then.
Ordered mainly weapons in the past, decided to order the Kolosus turret (KV2 style) arrived, had a play around with some weapons I had lying around.
Very versatile turret for Imperial guard would recommend for Hydra( think Shilka's cruder cousin), Wyvern, any russ (heavy assault duty, hell yeah KV2 style), Basilisk or Griffon (shell'em in style).
Mine mounts autocannons or quad mortars(made by cutting down Blood and Skulls auto cannons where the barrel begins to taper if you're looking for a fast-swap wyvren). Hasn't even got a chassis yet, or even a hatch :(
Spoiler:
bit of a rough WIPatm but hatch aside its all there

Would the Crusader style light tank turret MK 2 designed to fit into the hull of a baneblade? I own neither at this point but at a preliminary level it would appear too long, but it looks real nice

dis one
The MKII Light Turret won't fit in the Baneblade hull but it is design to work with the sponsons. It also makes a great razorback turret.
Darn you. I was looking for a 6x6 conversion kit for making wheeled Razorbacks. I ended up using your 8x8 kit, now this comes out. :( oh well, time to buy another.
That new sponson set is huge. for fitting onto land battleships; to provide broadside capability!

The Omega Multi-Weapon Sponson set is now available! As for spotlights I do have one (and it actually works!) but optics would be a great addition too.
Any idea how hard it would be to fit one of those rear plates onto a chimera? I want to do the 'chime-russ' thing and would like to get rid of the back hatch.
Cypher226 wrote: Any idea how hard it would be to fit one of those rear plates onto a chimera? I want to do the 'chime-russ' thing and would like to get rid of the back hatch.
It shouldn't be too difficult. The width is about the same, you'd just need some plasticard to fill in the height.

So I was originally going to build a pushed back turret using a standard chimera top and cutting it up but my brand new kits top was all scarred up from some mold pulling incident I assume. It was damaged at the front so I opted to go with a different 3rd party top. Liking the results.

My friend created this unique vehicle using my Aquarius 6x6 Wheeled Kit along with the track unit from my Buffalo Kit. Now I have a new half-track project....
Thought I'd show you guys some pics of a recent prize I donated to the Mid MO Maelstrom event (https://www.midmomaelstrom.com/). The only plastic pieces on this model are the hull and track plates, the rest is all resiny goodness
poor rhino, does not look as shocking in real life, can never get a photo that does it justice, in ny case bane blade Will look better because I've got an airbrush and a bit more experience now
Humbrol matt grey blue (87) with Tamiya light blue chipping
Humbrol Kharki Green(259) I'll have to mix a chipping colour up
Humbrol dark bronze green (75) with slate green chippping (31)
Humbrol desert yellow (93) mixed with a little pale stone(121) for chipping
some gunmetal for additional deep chipping and some dust/rust over the top using citadel paints

Thanks to the pics here, been looking for some wheeled conversions. Just ordered the Pisces and Barmkin conversion kits. Going to combine them with the metal griffon parts I have and have them be counts-as wyvren/griffons.

I keep checking the store to see if the half track has made an appearance.
Think you'll get it out before Christmas?

For sure it will. But I'm hoping to bundle its release with something else now at the printers, something that's momentous for us...
Any chance to get this Main Weapon as Sponson Weapons for your sponson kits ? I need to equip my Fellblade with Laser Destroyer Sponsons and quad lascannon sponson is already an option you could provide us with ;-)

Baneblade sized mudguards/track guards would be awesome, I've seen some made out of the original plastic leman russ ram, and they look great, unfortunately I have not found any old leman russ rams for sale :(

So on New Years Day we had a big release at Blood & Skulls Industry. We now have our very own chassis to go with our Aquarius and Pisces Conversion Kits!
The Bullfrog Chassis comes with numerous weapon options along with a detailed interior. The top and the seats are also removable allowing a variety of customizations as new parts are released.
Is there any chance that just the front hull will be available separately? I already have Pisces 8X8 and Bramkin open top conversion kits, but I need Front hulls to build them. I'm making Griffon Heavy Mortars so I don't have need for the turrets/seats from the back section in this kit.

Unfortunately the Bullfrog chassis is narrower than the Chimera by about 1/2 an inch so it won't work with the Barmkin Kit. I did that to give the Bullfrog a more proportioned looked with the wheeled sides. :(
It took me a moment to realise the 3rd gun represented the pintle mounted weapons. I was confused why a chimera equivalent needed three gun mounts. Very cool!
Is their any weapons in the back catalogue that works of the main turret that could be used to represent twin heavy bolter?
Salted Diamond wrote: My Griffon Heavy Mortar using the Pisces and Bramkin kits together. Still need to greenstuff the gaps but I'm very happy with the result
That's some beautiful work there!
I have plans for mortar versions of my Bullfrog and Barmkin kits after the hard top version is done. Your conversion is a good indication of how awesome it's going to be
Using high technology I have come up with 3x variants based on a modified Aquarius chassis, if you beat me to this conversion, good on you I want to see a ton of pics, actual picture is a pices but I'd use an Aquarius, a regular taurox turret should suffice for most roles, but a predator in the fire support version would look mint
Spoiler:
IFV infantry carrier IFV fire support (probably a taurox cannon or something of a similar size) IFV ATGM system
The missile launcher variant looks very nice to me (not really surprising, if you know me). But I guess it has to wait a bit, until my heap of unpainted models shrunk a bit
and not this :
Well this is not a stryker either, but it is the stryker's source design the Ratel
was a completely indigenously developed vehicle for South Africa's enviroment,
But that is beside the point. I have here is a suggestion to fellow modellers for an alternate vehicle, which also provides their model 2x additional exit points and a sensible design. This is not a request of Macinator, just a heads up to anyone thinking of making cool chimeras/taurox/razorbacks
I would like a weapon comparable to the conquer cannon, taurox battle cannon or any other battle cannon type weapon that is essentially the same thing.

New stuff today! First off we start with the Hard-top version of our Bullfrog chassis. This kit comes with the turret shown and four weapons that are all easily swappable. The chassis also has a fully detailed interior and is fully compatible with our Aquarius 6x6 & Half-track and the Picses 8x8.
Next we have the Hard-top version of our popular Barmkin kit, which also comes with the same turret shown above. This hull is also fully compatible with the GW Chimera kit.
OldMate wrote: Very nice, will the Bullfrog hull front be available separate?
At this point no. The Bullfrog front is a different width than the Chimera hull so it's not really compatible by itself. But if you're looking for one send me a PM and we can work something out
Thanks Machinator. I fear I won't be getting anything for a while. But I do like the glass driver's vision on the Bullfrog. Very much suits a light/medium armoured vehicle. Like the chimera/taurox.
Some new additions to our missile line of products. Now you can mount two or three of our Small and Medium Missiles on wing mounted pylons! A great addition to your flyers
Never thought I needed both kinds of weapons options mounted twin linked for my baneblade...
Needless to say, move over hammerhead, there's a new railgunner in town.
A couple of new items to fill out our product line. First up is the Yak 4x4 Wheeled Kit, the perfect option for turning your Taurox into a Monster Truck! (Huge Tires available separately too)
Then we finally have track armor for the Leman Russ!
A couple of big releases today to give you guys a few more options with the Chimera chassis. Introducing the Scorpio Hull and Side Armor, both with and without sponsons!
The hull finally gives you the option to use our Dual Weapon Turrets on the chimera chassis and with the addition of the Side Armor you can now customize it into a full battle tank.
Bit of a rough(exhaust pipe, turret, and driver's escape hatch are just blutacked on rough,so still opening stages) WIP based off the open top bullfrog kit, with added Ratel-y goodness. Turret is a place holder.
Needs side doors, hatches on top, firing ports and other details. Side doors will probably have to be BTR style clam shell style as hull is too angled to permit a regular door. All in all a good kit to build off of, i've also squirreled away that little 1 man turret because i am totally not totally into the idea of making an A9 cruiser inspired carnodon.
