Welcome all to the 50th(!) round of the Unofficial Painting challenge. For those who haven't seen the challenge before, it is a community-focused friendly competition open to anyone on the site, regardless of your skill level or experience. Every round contributes towards a League table, which ultimately means nothing but is a lot of fun to keep an eye on and jockey for position with Dakka's other painters.
This month, the theme is The Art of War. Your entry should feature individuals famed for their tactical or strategic acumen. We're looking for leaders of armies, masterminds of grand campaigns, architects of victory. As always, this is open to interpretation, so if you have another approach to the theme then feel free to use that instead!
How To Enter
- You may enter up to 5 MODELS as a SINGLE ENTRY, and are permitted one entry per member per month. If you enter multiple models, they should ideally be related in some way, such as part of the same squad, unit or scene if you are doing a diorama
- You MUST post a 'proof' picture of your entry in the thread of the state it was in before you started working on it; this must be either unassembled, unpainted, primed or coated a single colour. Entries that do not submit a valid Proof Picture will not be eligible for voting.
- After this, you may post WIP pictures in this thread and your own if you wish, and on completing the entry, you may post up to 6 final pictures IN THIS THREAD that will then be used for voting. Please note that pictures in a montage or collage picture will be considered individual images for this purpose, so while these types of presentation are certainly acceptable, please keep the image limit in mind when compiling them. For example, a collage of 5 images and one separate image would count as your 6 picture allowance.
So What Do I Win?
- Points... and points mean... bragging rights for the next month! Following the vote, points will be awarded to every entrant. This year, the Points you receive will be equal to the Percentage of Votes your entry receives in the final Voting thread; if you get 10%, you get 10 points, if you get 6% you get 6 points, so on and so forth.
These points will be used to form a league table, which will be updated month on month as the results come in.
How Long Do I Have?
This challenge begins 1st of April and will end at midnight UK time on the 30th of April. After this, I shall compile the finished entries into a new thread, and voting will run for 5 days.

nte is made entirely from the Sanguinary Guard kit with the Upgrade kit head. I see a lot of people using existing models, like the Krom Dragongaze or Blood Angels Chaplain, as a base for conversion, but in line with my other SM special characters, I wanted to make them fully buildable using only multipart plastics. Brother-Captain Stern is made purely from the GK Terminator set.
Depending on if I can break out the rattlecan to prime, I’ll either do Calgar and HG or a RT captain and vets.
Pic to follow.
Edit:
There is something like 3 decades between these two groups of marines. I’d like to do Calgar, as I think he fits the theme better. But the weather is going to be crappy for the next two weeks. If there is a good day in the next few, he’ll get his shot. If not, retro-goodness.
I'm in! I'll post some grey (and a bit of green) as soon as I can get some decent pics. I'll be painting Lord Actis, Commander of the Children of the Ossuary.
hmmm...I honestly haven't a clue what I could do for this one...I'll have to have a real thorough think, but, I'm pretty sure I've painted pretty much all my leader type models already, and squigs, which are my current personal project, aren't exactly known for their tactics and strategy

Title: Heroes of the Imperium
See if you can guess each model. Hint: every one is a special character.
(Middle-left will be a Blood Raven)
Left to right: Brother-Captain Stern, Marneus Calgar (you're going to make him a Blood Raven?), Commander Dante, Ragnar Blackmane). Am I close at least?
I'm in with some more BSF models. Leaders of armies, in the form of heretic sergeants, don't get much more masterminds than psykers, and the obvious and undeniable architect of ultimate victory, Lord Blackie himself. Hopefully got time to get through all 5 this month with some judicious airbrushing!

Ok, so this little guy is going to be my entry. Currently unpainted but still has some bit of primer on the pieces I ripped off other things
He's the Renegade Commander for my budding R&H army, the Children of the Ossuary. Lord Actis was formerly an Admiral in the Imperial Fleet, until he was turned to the worship of Chaos on the Rogue Planet Morax.

So with a little searching I've found a website that sells genuine forge world bits (egghead miniatures). Got a new head and Worldbreaker inbound. unfortunately the talon was sold out so I wont be able to replace that.

I'll be posting WIP pictures as he progresses.
Nothing like a good set of civilian power armour. Something we don't see enough of.

When I got him glued down I tried putting him between a Cultist and an Intercessor to get a sense of scale, and he does look like a regular humie in some power armor. Of course, the Renegade Commander only has a 5+ save (and a 5++), but as Not Online!!! said: "Who is capable of saying that R&H can be 'modelled for advantage'?"
My entry will be some more metal Rogue Trader era models.
The Exarch of a Dark Reaper Shrine and three Dark Reapers.
When an Aeldari following the path of the warrior becomes too focused and unable to leave that path, they become an Exarch. The Exarch only leaves the Shrine for war as in the meantime they perfect their knowledge and skills in the art of war.
Leader of armies? well, it looks like I'm making a habit of entering Avatars of Khaine. I've been building an Aeldari army with the help of eBay and for some reason people keep dropping these guys into job lots. I've ended up with 4 of them, none of which I am putting together as standard (I hate the pose). The First Avatar I entered in November's competition, but never managed to finish the base.
The second one has ended up dead on a base for a kit bashed Necron Cryptek (I might still enter the Cryptek instead if progress is slow on my actual entry).
The third is going to be seated in a shrine as scenery for an Eldar Craftworld (thanks to Fifty for letting me steal that idea).
So to number 4. I'm still not sure of the colour scheme I'm going to use for this guy, but I'm pretty happy so far with the rebuild. I was hoping to get some prebuilt antlers to replace the silly horns, but I can't find anything. Scratch building from paperclips is time consuming and fiddly, but if I can keep my patience, I think it will look OK.
My entry for this month is Alavaan, Chapter Master of the Sons of Orar. I've been eyeing up the Sons of Orar for some time now, so am keen to see how painting them goes. I will add a command/sternguard squad to my entry later in the month if I have the time/the will. Good luck for Round 50 everybody! Looking forward to seeing what gets cooked up for such a mighty theme
Not sure if I'm going to enter them all, but here's something that reflects an aspect of the Art of War. Main entry will be the Fire Dragon Exarch but will do one or two with him.
So horus new head and worldbreaker arrived yesterday. I'm stuck on a bone night watch keeper duty at work so I'm painting in works time. WIP photo of the face.
Theoretical: the Adeptus Astartes are the true masters of the art of war and among them the warriors of the XIII are the pinnacle of tactical acumen and skill.
Reposting my proof picture because I have decided to re-model Alavaan to make him more like an Ultramarines successor. I am still likely to add a couple more proofs of his brothers soon if i’m on schedule
I'm still stuck on night shift so posting another WIP. I hate night shifts but on the plus side 12 hours of sitting doing not much is letting me forge ahead with horus. Got the base done and made a start on the armour.
Looking good so far QAR, particularly like the eyes.
I've got to paint a load of Ad Mech this month so my entry will probably be this tech priest. Not the best fit to the theme, more of a technical drawing of war rather than art, but it will have to do.
Well, I finally have things picked up to paint for this, and a fun little twist
For me, I have a GSC Clamavus, or as many people have called him in my group, DJ 4AE
And also, the twist. My Significant Other was interested in painting stuff, and she really liked the look of the Black Legion. As such, she took a stab at Obsidius Mallex and his two CSM bros from Blackstone Fortress.
Cheers guys!
I will be painting Heckler and Raoul Spector for this month. For the first time I also did some minor conversion.
It's quite a bit more difficult with metal miniatures.
Gonna challenge myself with this liberator prime. Going for full gold nmm armour. Not sure what I will do with the steel parts. might do them with metallic paint as I never did steel nmm on something before as far as I remember. Or maybe some kind of magic weapon?
So to change my entry slightly, rather than just enter one aspect shrine, I want to do multiple aspects to embody the art of war. So I'll have a Fire Dragon, a Swooping Hawk, a Warp Spider and a Howling Banshee. One of each obviously, not whole squads
Proof (s):
I'll have the Banshee proof later on, I'm waiting for them to appear in the post.
I was really really excited for this month as I was finally able to build and paint my plastic, bits-box-style models for Dante and Ragnar. As such, I have completely finished and here they are!
Ragnar is made from the Space Wolf Pack (legs, torso, cloak, pistol) kit and the Space Wolf Upgrade set (Head, backpack, icon, sword). Dante is made entirely from the Sanguinary Guard kit with the Upgrade kit head.
And comparisons to official models for the conversions
Rhomen wrote: I hate that I just banged out Interrogator-Chaplain Seraphicus, without checking what this months challenge was first.
It's alright though, my painting is not that great.
That's okay, pick something else and enter anyway! I'd be interested in seeing pics of that Chaplain if you'd care to share a link or PM me, as it's a very cool model. I have one, but I haven't painted it yet.
As for my entry this month, I'm making progress:
Plenty of work left to do, but he's coming along.

Nuts, and here I was thinking we would be buddies doing a similar themed single Exarch and some members of the same shrine.
I have made zero progress since my proof models [feels shame], too caught up in making terrain.
I'm going to try to paint these two elf guys who I reckon turn war into an artform. Not by being particularly great at it, but by doing it in a very stylish way.

Haha, I very well could be returning to the original entry if I don't get my backside in gear!
So the antlers on my Avatar a a pain. Adding a tiny amount of green stuff, shaping, blending and smoothing one prong and waiting for the GS to harden (I tried doing more than one prong at a time, but it went really badly) so I've been working on the other two Avatar side projects alongside it.
The First is as a base for a kit bashed cloaked Cryptek (my son plays Necron). Entirely built from scratch from spare Necron pieces, there are parts from immortals, wraiths, and death mark in there. the Avatar is base scenery- I drilled out the body to make it look like the molten centre was flowing out. I'm going to add a few more scarabs the base I think, and the paint isn't quite finished yet. I'm pretty pleased with it though and I might put this guy in instead of the main Avatar I was thinking about.
The other Avatar I'm working on is an idea I totally stole from Fifty who started a conversion but didn't finish it. he managed to close his avatar's mouth (I tried but my knife slipped and I just destroyed the lower jaw and had to completely rebuild with GS. The first picture is his unfinished conversion - I'll try to find the thread I saw it on and link to it.
The plan is to have this guy waiting to be animated by the Farseers, seated on a throne with gold Aspect Warrior helmets around him, on plinths or maybe built into the throne somehow. I want to create a Craftworld map for Killteam, with this as a central objective. its a bit ambitious, so it's either going to look great or a bit shonky. I'll let you all know.
EDIT: I meant to add this photo of all my Avatars together:
I'm still on 12 hour shifts so I'm dividing my time between painting horus and reading about him. Almost done now. Only world breaker to finish then a little tidying of the highlights. Not been my favourite primarch to paint, but damn it's a nice model.
I'll enter a single Iron Warriors marine - as a veteran of the long war, he's sure to know something about the art of war (or he may believe that fortifications are the artworks of war)...

It is really great to see someone else pushing on with a seated Avatar!
Mine actually has a bit more progress done to it than the last photo I ever posted;
I actually greenstuffed all of his knees, elbows, nick, a stomach, a back very similar to yours, and I added wire to start sculpting some hair. For some reason, I have no photos of him at that stage though.
However, I think I am going to pull him apart and do the GSing again, as I made him more upright than I want him to be. Now I feel like I have a (friendly) rival and need to get my gak done!
I've picked up some Autarchs on ebay recently, which would be perfect for this month's challenge - but on the other hand the month's half over already and I'm almost certainly going to be too busy to get one painted up to enter. A shame.
Making progress on my entry:
He's definitely getting there; the skin and bone details are all done, so it's just the metallics and cloth left to finish, plus the base. Oh, and I'll need to do the eyes, too.
queen_annes_revenge You have my vote already, but can I ask how you get that malachite look on The stone? What colours? Washes and dry brush? It looks awesome.
Tikay Fortooun wrote: queen_annes_revenge You have my vote already, but can I ask how you get that malachite look on The stone? What colours? Washes and dry brush? It looks awesome.
I followed a guide I found online. I'll try and find it and list the paints I used.
This is the guide I followed. Not sure if the link works. It's not working for me.
I replaced his colours with vallejo luftwaffe camo, mixing with kantor blue and macragge blue for the green tones
Then for the lighter tones I mixed gauss blaster green, vallejo khaki and white (in varying degrees/mixes) until you're using super light tones for the marbling and stippling.
The trick is to not track the marble lines across the block lines of your basing material, to create the effect of different blocks of the marble.
Thanks! I chose purple because that's what the novels describe it as, although it has been pointed out that a warmer more red purple might be more appropriate so I may change it one day. Probably not for this contest though.
Ok, time for me to get back into the painting game...
Here are my HQ for my 30k Word Bearers. I want to paint the central terminator chaplain for this challenge, but I'll likely give a go to the Herald and the Diabolist as well...
queen_annes_revenge wrote: that GUO is looking decent dude. have you been drybrushing it? thats a model that lends itself well to drybrush.
Hey, thanks heaps. Yeah just constantly dry brushing the heck out of it, i would go about it differntly probably and actualy have questions to ask another time when i have finished it because my methods were strange i think but im pretty happy so far. Its all thanks to you and others from Dakka for teaching me .
It was great fun trying new things and pushing myself with this miniature. Like trying out painting the armor in nmm, sculpting a base from clay. I kind of like how the gold looks but its suffer abit from my rough blending. Something im going to focus on improving in the next round.

Finished
I like the “rough” blending on him. Gives him comic book vibe, in a good way. Fits the model.
Always good to push yourself to do new things and improve.
Here is a WIP shot. Need to do a bit more highlighting and decide how much blood effects I want to use before starting the base. Just can't decide if I want the skulls to look bleached or like he just got done cutting them off of somebody.
@XanceofSlaanesh- that is looking immense! Great work on the NMM.
@midget- an orky Ali g. Marvellous...
Here is my current progress. Getting there slowly, but I think it will be tight. Chaos stuff is just so intricate with loads of details... almost like it wants you to become a better (or at least more patient) painter.
@Danceof Slaanesh - this looks amazing - I love the graphic style...I know you said 'finished' but would you consider doing the hammer and shield in a graphic style NMM as well?
I reckon that would really make this model one of my favourites of all time...
I am completely copying this style for a mini one day!
Had a disaster.
Model fell apart at the waist, and I decided that I didn’t like the purple I used as under-armour, the shoulder horns were getting in the way so I cut them off and turned them into way-stones and the green stuff finish antlers was rough as sandpaper.
So I’ve been remodelling and green stuffing an almost finished model.

Thanks man. I was considering it. I never did steel nmm before so I was thinking of playing it safe and not doing too many new things at once. Was also thinking maybe giving him some magic weapon or something. But you are right it really brings down the whole look of it. Probably I cant go back, the metal paint is pretty thick already:(
I finished my entry, and with plenty of time to spare. I present to you my Daemon Prince of Khorne, ready to reap some Blood for the Blood God and Skulls for the Skull Throne:
I had a lot of fun with this entry. I still feel like my metallics look a bit flat, but not as bad as some of my previous work. I also wish I'd had some skulls available to put on the base, but...eh. There's probably a skull somewhere inside that Primaris helmet, so let's just go with that.
I look forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with!
I’ve finished painting a model! I NEVER actually finish painting figs- even the last entry I did for the competition hasn’t *actually* been finished yet!
Thank you for running these competitions, it’s spurred me into action. I’ll submit proper pics in the morning, but here he is!
Need to figure out something for my entry this month. I've been really productive, painting up about 30+ Batman minis in the last couple of weeks, but none that really fit the theme for this at all. Probably going to have to pick some LotR stuff.
Due to being very, very busy this month, I won't be able to finish my entry in time. If you were interested in it, it will appear on my P&M blog some day.
Thanks Midget Gems the blood feels like it was the easiest bit! Fishing line, blood for the blood god, and PVA to thicken it to create and shape the droplets at the end.
So my finished entry. Metal Eldar Dark Reaper Exarch and Squad
Looking at a comparison of the converted Exarch with the regular Dark Reapers it does look a little like he is compensating for something. I obtained the model in a trade and wanted a model to standout as the Exarch.
Some great entries so far guys, I love the range of stuff that's coming out for this challenge - it feels like a shame to single out praise for particular models so I'll keep it at a general well done to all.
After somewhat ambitiously posting those four primed Autarchs, I've managed to get one of them just about done - I should be able to finish and photograph it tomorrow. I think posting the proof for all four of them was more about leaving my options open for which one I was going to do rather than any serious expectation that I'd be able to get them all painted in time!
Was a real challenge from start to finish; unable to do the bulk of the body in subassemblies meant a lot of finnicky angles to paint in, and then even harder to photograph because of the size (and I lack a proper lightbox).
I will enter my final later tonight close to midnight maybe NZ TIME. Its 3 18 pm now, so please try keep this thing open until nz time has passed the final mark . ( taking me ages to make a base )
Getting close to the wire, but I should be able to make it. Latest WIP:
Still need the second blue coat and wash for one of the HG, but the other one and the big guy are ready for edges. Bit of touch ups still need doing, and then the bases.
edit - IGNORE THIS POST. Tomorrow ill try fix base and take a pictures with better lighting and background, mayber with our camera flash but brighter lights, or outside natural light.
GUO looks good, but your photos could be improved massively, by curving a sheet of paper behind the model and shining a desk lamp onto it from slightly above and on front, then take your photos. That's how I used to do mine before I got my light box.
Yeah ill try again tomorrow, well it is tomorrow now but i mean yeah. But the problem is i really wanted a smooth surface for the lava, and was going to add some bubbles, but yeah it all ended up badly because the stuff i made the balls out of for the "bubble effect" started making all the paint chip and then i chipped some of the varnish etc etc. I guess i could just make some texture with putty over all the mess on the thing..
So ill see what happens, i guess i get some sand paper or some thing. Yeah the pictures fethed ill do it again tmoorrow.
I'd also suggest getting some weathering or corrosion on that sword. It looks very bright. You could paint it a muddy brown, then drybrush with a metallic, then apply rust powder (or an orange brown wash if you don't have any powders)
You have some really good details on the model Bellerophon, nice entry and well done
@Stormatious, with your Pics I'd also recommend cropping them so more of the model is in view and making them bigger (not so massive they take up several screens but bigger so we can see all your hard work and you get the votes you deserve )
queen_annes_revenge wrote: I'd also suggest getting some weathering or corrosion on that sword. It looks very bright. You could paint it a muddy brown, then drybrush with a metallic, then apply rust powder (or an orange brown wash if you don't have any powders)
Yeah its the flash on the camera, ill take pictures in good lighting with out flash tomorrow, it just makes every thing bright as hell im pretty sure but yeah i know what you mean, hopefully other pics tomorrow will show difference.
I know you cant see sword much in the picture, but you can sort of get idea, any way tomorrow ill do again .
So these definitely aren't going to compare to some of the amazing work that is being posted up (that Nagash, jeez!), but I did at least finish this month, all models and with a little time to spare:
P.S. Can you spot which one is the Assault on Black Reach easy-to-build marine?
Bottom guy on the right? Only the ETBs can hold their bolters that close to their chest Nice clean work all round.
After a burst of progress after my panicky wobble a couple of days ago, I've managed to finish my BSF sergeants and psykers. Nowhere near finishing the big man, so I think I'll post now as finished.
Most happy with - the shading on the cloaks, helmets and coats. The transitions are a little rough but I think this is the first time I've gone through so many shades and highlights on anything other than grey
Least happy with - the psyker faces. I was trying for a green eldritch glow, but what I have is a bit of a scrubby mess. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix then I'm all ears...
As the gator above will attest, I'm not great at it myself, but my first thought would be "more contrast", using a different, more contrasting color for the mouth and eye glow-- they're definitely there, but the light blue-green feels like its blending in with the yellow green of the skin. I'd also see if you could maybe work more of that dark green into small creases and that with some blending, should help define the shapes of the lumps a bit more.
Also, unrelated, but i like the glow on the noses, just for the silliness of the evil psyker sneezing us all to death.
Was a real challenge from start to finish; unable to do the bulk of the body in subassemblies meant a lot of finnicky angles to paint in, and then even harder to photograph because of the size (and I lack a proper lightbox).
Far out...great work all round.
In the interest of hitting every month, I am going to enter a farseer for a new army I am putting together.
Inspired by Nevelon, I have made a promise to myself that I will put together a whole army this year. This girl will be the first...as long as I get her finished in time!
This is the worst lava base ever, so please ignore the base and dont vote on the base. I rushed the base, and also used the one i previously ruined to make this one, so the surface is crap and yes i realise the base looks like gak. But it could have looked better but i fethed it up and dont have time to restart again so this has to do.
Would have bought a new base and done a better job etc but shops closed today, and i needed more time.
Yeah i know, i accidentally put too much paint on the rocks ( i had a nice looking highlight on rocks before but ended up stuffing it up so painted the entire thing with the lava colors which has also ruined it but yeah ) so i had to try match it up so did it every where, and yeah i spent ages trying to get a good lava look but ended up with this crap lol. But yeah it looks not the worse but yeah its definitely going to be replaced after this voting has been completed.
Thanks.
edit - lets just not talk about the base, its ugly IMO, and yeah ill throw away after voting etc and do it the way i was supposed to before i rushed/stuffed this one up. COuld have left with out the base but i thought it would be more appropriate to just show it on this crappy one any way since its all i can manage to get atm.
Modock wrote:I'm dead serious and I'm really impressed with the armor highlights. The color transition on the cloak is seamless and smooth. Amazing work man.
Well, thank you man! I love your work and it's definitely motivating me to step up the consistency of my work as well!
Your entry, as always, is super clean and sharp! I love the mix of various neutral tones in the armor and that ridiculously sharp red faceplate!

That is a most impressive painting of Nagash, right down to the dead leaves on the base.
DV8 - That's just stunning. I'll say more in the voting thread when it's up, but suffice to say you're getting a vote.
Modock - Great work as ever.
Midget Gems - That's coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing the finished article.
Stormatious - Nowt wrong with that lava base, it looks good. I like the bubbles.
Lovely work also coming in from Flinty, Jadenim, Bellerophon and others, too many to mention without this turning into one of my mention-everyone posts. They take like an hour to make, so I'll stop here.
I've just finished my elves. I'm definitely not winning this month with all this quality on display, but I'm keeping my streak of entries going. The last bits of paint aren't even dry but I'm photographing them anyway because I'm a maverick like that.
Automatically Appended Next Post: So here are my final pics - Elf Wanderers, the Waywatcher and the Waystrider.

Glad I can help motivate! Slow and stead wins the race. Just keep painting, and you’ll be shocked how fast things pile up. Nice looking Seer, where is she from?
Finished my entry:
Almost didn’t include the guards. They are not bad at arm’s length, but the models are really lackluster. Too many compromises for getting them to sprue in too few pieces. The feel like cheesy push-fits, but should be character level of detail as befits their station. As they had to be fully assembled so mold/join lines could be smoothed, it was a real bear getting a brush to places. So up close, they have a lot of bad angles.
Calgar on the other hand was a lot of fun. Big guy, nice details, but not too over the top. Looking forward to getting him on the batlefield and doing some harm. I’m sure my son will be glad to see him as well, as he’ll take the place of Guiliman as my new shiny warlord.
Special bonus pic (not for voting) “You never grow old, you are old when you stop growing.”
Spoiler:
If you don’t talk to your models about scale creep, who will?
In what is possibly the most 'last minute' of my last minute entries so far, I just about managed to get something suitable done amongst all the Batmans. Started at about 8PM last night after a day of travel, and photograhped this morning before I head off to a Captain Marvel/Endgame double bill, just about done in time!
Of the three Theodens I've painted recently, I think this might actually be my favourite. As great as the new plastic versions are, especially when it comes to things like the armour and sword holding finer details, this is definitely my favourite pose and the face on this one is an even better likeness to the actor. I've gone for a somewhat brighter look here, emphasising the green and red of his tunic a lot more, and I think that suits him nicely.
you painted all night? nice. I want to do some of the LOTR/Hobbit stuff, but didnt have time to get one done for GD. I might do the Azog duel next year.
yeah I think they'd be a nice change from heresy era, its just finding something cool that would be fun to paint. forge world have some nice hobbit stuff, but it will probably have to wait until next year.
still got Sanguinius and Daemon Magnus to paint. hopefully get those into one of the up coming months. Sanguinius would be good for 'to the death' (too soon?) but with a house move this month I don't want to assemble him and risk damage during transit.
So many awesome minis!
The quality seems to get higher and higher every month, I swear.
This farseer conversion is the Mistweaver from the Warhammer Quest reboot with an Eldar head swap...I'm going to use the original head on a different farseer body to add to my seer council.
The idea for my Eldar is that they are seeking the primordial gods that existed when the universe was in its infancy, to replace the gods lost when Slaanesh rose. Each of these primeval forces embodies one of the elements of the universe, such as 'Fire', 'Earth', 'Water', etc.
This girl is the Seer of Air.
Finished.
All the best to everyone and see you in 'To the Death'.
Some nice entires coming in, hope to see some more tonight before the deadline
Getting my Final Pics in while I can for my little scene, seem to be saying this on most entries recently but ran out of time to finish all the little details but its mostly there.
My Ork Blood Axe Warboss - The Art of Waaagh (By Mork Tzu)
Wow, great stuff guys!
As already said, I think the quality of the entries gets better and better by the month.
Got mine done just in time!
Not very happy with the painting on this one, as I did not have much painting time during this month. I actually started painting this yesterday.
Well, one can't succeed every time.
What I'm happy with though, is the conversion itself.
Succubus for my upcoming vampire / horror themed army. The conversion is somewhat based on a hero in Dota 2.
The source of inspiration in the spoilers. Note: NOT my image and this is not part of the entry.
Just got my warboss done and photographed! Just in under the wire. Not perfect, but more importantly done
Grimgor is a cunning warlord, even though he didn't go to no fancy military academy.
Great stuff.
Midget Gems- that is amazing. Love the concept and the colors! Great execution of a great idea.
Hope I'm allowed a slightly late entry! I finished before 12 but I wanted some decent photos. Only the fire dragon exarch got painted... I was a tad ambitious with 5 models lol.
So I may not have finished, but I blame that on Easter holiday and not having a paint setup at home because I left stuff (most importantly my half finished entry) at uni. But there's some great entries here, I look forward to voting.
