Based on the leaked image on facebook chances are that we'll see a full reveal for the new Sylvanath Battletome, dice and endless spells (plus any other) at the weekeender. I would wager that they might also spoil a second Battletome release or something else as well (Forbidden Powers and Warcry) to give AoS some future anticipation.
I'm expecting a medium sized primaris release. I'll be amazed if there is hardly anything, I think a lot of people would be. Potentially the announcement of a new marine codex also (it needs it).
Other than an admech transport, what else could be reasonably expected from 40k? Perhaps a more in depth look at the upcoming sisters?

Definitely more details on Apocalypse. There was a rumour a while back about an Apoc release coming with new plastic superheavies, which would be nice if true.
Did anyone else not receive paper tickets and only got e tickets? Seeing a lot of insta posts of paper tickets but I only got an email saying this is your tickets.
My ticket arrived today...hope there's a few early Necromunda releases, even just the Delaque parts, to make it worthwhile. Plan to make three seminars before I get sick of the crowd (ticket band gawds willing, of course)
Edit: physical ticket, which was a) delivered postage free straight from GW (unlike previous years, which has been extra), and b) sent in a box rather than an envelope, even more mysteriously...

I’ve only got e-tickets (so far). I did mine straight through eventbrite, not the GW store.

I'll be there bright and early on saturday, camera and golden ticket in hand. If anyone wants to reupload my images here, that'd be great. I'll be uploading to my instagram as I go, but won't have time to upload here during the day.

I didn't even know about golden tickets until the other day. How much extra are they and are they worth it? I'm always skeptical about stuff like that.

It could be more info about the renegade knights, they've show a teaser last weekend. As for sisters I think they'll keep that in the bulletins until they're close to the release date

I doubt it. Sisters are the big thing to advertise for them. GW went out of their way to Sisters marketing differently than everything else. There's no reason to believe they won't make an appearance at GW's most important event.
Whether that appearance is in any way satisfying is a different question.
Last we saw was the newly released (and back in stock) Warlord Arm Weapons, and some digital WIP for Reaver carapace weapons. (possibly some for the Warlord, like the Vulcan Bolter Array? May have hallucinated, or confusing it with a shapeways type offering)
They've mentioned that big Knight in Molech, so perhaps something on that.
The game is coming for year old now....we needs more! Spesh as I've bought about all I need to, barring a third Warlord. For the moment.
There's that psychic titan to come I think (I seem to recall a rumour/leak ages ago that someone was making one); though I'd say the next big thing to really spark AT interest would be Chaos Titans in some form.
At least that's the directly I fully expect to see - starting with a simple corrupted armour and weapons atop the basic shell of the current warlord model - gradually advancing into fully warped titans that are utterly unique.
Of course there's a lot of knight variations that they can still do for Imperials and several larger knight/titans to come. I think it depends on if they feel tehy can keep going with just Imperials or if they need to diversify to keep the game selling strong.
As for Knight weapons? It would be nice to have an expansion pack with variations. Especially the Lanky Knights. Lancers are good, but others also welcome.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, and FW have confirmed the first lot of goodies that'll be available to buy. Spoilered as I think they'll be big on mobile devices.

At this point the only thing I want to hear from GW is "our new factory and warehousing space is operational, so we can keep new things in stock and stop culling our classic model range".
I would love to get those objective markers and dice tray.
The event exclusive items concept is terrible IMO. Making and showing off items that are inaccessible to >50% of your customer base is simply bad business.

Not really, the idea is that it encourages people to spend more money going to the event. Of course with the ease of buying and selling online anyone is able to get these anyway, usually at a marked up price, but gw doesn't care about scalpers as that money is eventually making its way to them regardless.
One thing I notice is that from the FW exclusives its all 40K stuff. I wonder if FW is just outright abandoning AoS and focusing purely on 40K now.
I know they formed and then unformed an AoS team within FW and I also noticed that with regard to the greater demons that FW sells many are not really "as good" as their AoS counterparts even though they've had rules revisions.
I wonder if we are seeing a subtle shift whereby FW is going to focus on the smaller games and 40K and just leave AoS totally alone. Thus far they've only delivered a few alternate heads for Stormcast and the Khorne Dragon, which if I recall right started its life way back in the End Times campaign era. That's honestly a really tiny output for what should be GW's second most strong selling product line.
This might just be a short term thing, might be that FW just hasn't got the situation right to produce much for AoS, but I'm getting the worrying feeling that its just not bothering to focus on AoS at all. Which would be a really sad thing considering how rich and big GW has made the AoS setting to then not have FW there to produce a load of alternate sculpts and monsters and beasties and creations to help flesh and support that game.
Heck it could even be that FW just hasn't sold much for AoS at all, though I could say that's the fault of the community marketing team somewhat if they aren't pushing FW models on gamers. Not showing off things like Wolfrats or Carmine dragons or Greater Demon sculpts etc...

That might just be the problem. Regardless of how much work GW has invested in Age of Sigmar, the game's actual model lines are still in their infancy. Hysh and Ulgu elves? Use old models. Non-Chaos Humans? Use old models. Undead? Straight out of Sylvania.
Overlords and fish elves are great additions, and fleshing out ranges like goblins and Daughters of Khaine serves a similar purpose. But I get the impression the main studio is not in a position they want the game to be, so Forgeworld doesn't get to do much with the setting until Age of Sigmar proper has been established enough in the eyes of the main studio.

Thing is right now half the models have Battletomes and so, at least in lore, are clearly defined now by GW. Even if FW was only making stormcast, beasts for Chaos and models for fully updated armies (eg Idoneth, KO, Daughters of Khaine etc.....) it would be something. I don't see any point in waiting since to update all the old model lines with new sculpts might take the better part of 10 years to achieve.

And if I was product manager at GW you wouldn't even have to tell me that, but GW's policy on this kind of stuff seems pretty clear to me. Let's think back to Slaanesh mortals (just as an example, please don't clutter the thread with another endless discussion of them). Slaanesh gets updated for Age of Sigmar. Slaanesh mortals aren't happening because the design team doesn't know what to do with them yet. In many other companies they'd be told to come up with something, what with it being their job and getting paid for it and all. At GW, they get way with it and no matter how much the customers might desire mortal models, they'll get just daemons because GW slated and update for a week ago and that's all that was available at the time.
That's GW's propagated MO. They are happy to leave people hanging because they still sell what they're making just fine. There's no commercial pressure to change that approach.
Forge World seems like an extension of that. They get overarching direction from GW but can do whatever they want within very wide limits, at whatever pace they're choosing. Horus Heresy seems to be suffering from that as well. So my take is unless GW steps in to raise an Age of Sigmar team and have them do dedicated work, that's just not going to happen. And GW isn't going to step in because they're happy to let things go easy. If true it's a vicious circle that nobody at GW actually wants to get out of, to the detriment of people like you who'd like for Forge World to explore neglected corners of the setting. Or make a full line of Fimir, I guess.
I think the AoS staff are really happy with all the marvelous things they can do with the new, shiny setting, and don't see a need to share the fun just yet.
From WU:O's discord:

I heard Teclis was coming with some new elves in a not-too-distant future.
There's someone in my local area who knows things well in advance, and this rumor supposedly comes from him, but I can't trace it back for certain. But if it's true, there's a good chance it will be included in the preview.

Let's say 40 of those 400 come from the 4000 people in the states.

3980 people still want to buy them but cannot. (3980 * 40 = 159200$)
16000$ total sales.
1600$ sales from the 40 of us who got to go.
159200$ in LOST SALES due to those who could not attend and will be unable to purchase the product.
Please, put this insane "BuT iT MaHkes Us MoNeYs" crap to bed. It doesn't. It's an outdated sales ploy from decades past that has long outlived its usefulness in the digital age.
Weird that they use a platform where only 400 people seem to be watching as the announcement for the new edition. But I guess more info will come this weekend.
I wasn't watching, but people who were say it was a joke on the stream. Seems he said something along the lines of "that is something we would look into for 9th edition"
Heck Im not even super impressed with the Terminators themselves. There's some good potential, but idk they fall short. I feel like their side skirts should have wrapped around the back at the very least.
8th edition has been out for 2 years now. In jest or not, it seems right that 9th would be announced. After all, we're on two year life cycles now for editions right?
Plus... They just made a bunch of Choas players buy a new codex. It's only fitting that it had the life span of one month.
All the codexes are out... Time to obsolete and re-release. feth you Sisters CA:2018 counts!
That's from last Friday's 8th edition Retrospective video. Given that GW aren't illiterate and remember to capitalise the name of their channel, unlike in that image, I'd say it's fake.
I wouldn't be surprised if 9th ed was just 8th ed with the CA Approved rules / beta rules integrated. It would be odd if they did away with 8th ed when they released a CA and FAQ for it not too long ago.
But then again, they did release 8th ed books for various factions in whfb, so idk
I'm not a fan of that new titan, mostly because it looks a little oversized in its arm and leg proportions, but I think its the photo angle and real life or in other angles I think it might well look great.
So it was just AT And Necro stuff on the stream reveal?
Might give it a miss, depending what the other two things were today. Only time for one or two..
Danny76 wrote: So it was just AT And Necro stuff on the stream reveal?

Basically forge world stuff (there was some HH stuff, a middle earth character, Mechanicum knights, and Necromunda).
Ok. Small Knights large Knights, all irrelevant to me.
But good to know.
Might get some tv watched then, tomorrow for WHTV for me, then of course on the forums all weekend watching with trepidation..
Not Samurai. The Keshig were the bodyguard of the Mongol Khans. In the context of White Scars, they're the Legionaries who are atoning for some sort of wrong or dishonour and have volunteered for the most dangerous duties.

Hey, I didn't say I agreed with it, I just said why they do it.
Who does the painting for FW these days? It's not the 'Eavy Metal team. (Was it ever?)
It is consistently sub-par. The terminators themselves are of good quality, but those weapons. Yeeessh. Not good. The metal is patchy, the binding on the hafts is rushed and the blue power nodes are just an afterthought.
Snrub wrote: Who does the painting for FW these days? It's not the 'Eavy Metal team. (Was it ever?)
No. Forge World's painting has always been in-house. Mind you, a lot of the stuff in White Dwarf and the Codex books isn't by the Eavy Metal team either.
I believe the "army" team for GW aims to copy the Every metal teams scheme, but simplifies it somewhat to a more sane level of detailing and quality for painting whole armies.
I think its also a means by which GW aims for a professional clean appearance to their army models on display which mimics what many can more easily learn to achieve themsevles; rather than showing every model with a world class paint scheme that many gamers can't recreate.
I can wager more average gamers achieve a GW style and level of painting than those who might try to go after something like Infinity's level of detailing on the models which they advertise with - which are in a whole other league.

We've had one edition so far that lasted a whooping 23 months. It's probably best to consider 6th ed 40k an outlier and the three years 7th ed and 1st ed AoS lasted the new standard, until proven otherwise.

9th ed will use the same framework as 8th ed and allow for basic compatibility, but will introduce an edition specific gimmick along with a paradigm shift that will make a new round of codices desirable. That paradigm will last for 6 to 12 months and be replaced halfway through the edition, make all codices from that point on either noticeably more or less powerful than the previous ones in that edition.
A new rules framework will only make an appearance after one of two things happened: GW hires new design staff that wants to make their own mark and ditch the previous design team's or lead's framework, or the design staff piles on so much gak over a couple of editions that the game is no longer salvageable and needs to be rebooted.

At this point I think for HHFW would be better off just showing raw resin. The paint jobs on the HH stuff is so bad as to make the product worse, I can't believe they continue to shoot themselves in the foot in this way... The necro squat looks fantastic, the white scars stuff looks like bog-standard tabletop. Nothing wrong about table-top for users, but as a seller, they should be showing their product in the best possible light.
I like the realistic standards set by their paint jobs, because I can look at those Keshig for reference and achieve a similar or even better level of paint job, but I do agree they should have nice clear pics of the unpainted product so people can’t better looks at the sculpt and details.
That's the Skitarii Transport. I'm 99% certain of that. You've got a lookout sticking his head up in the back of it, who looks an awful lot line a Skitarii, anyway....
Skitarii transport looks like it might have a grav/hovercraft type appearance with some kind of fencing skirt.
I think we'll be getting two Warcry videos today. Seems to be two private videos on that playlist. Perhaps the snake man is from that.
Same with Necromunda. 1 private video up there too.
6 40K videos. This will probably be Primaris updates rather than Sisters as that was slated for end of the year at least one for the Skitarii transport?
If Contrast really works as well as they say it does it will be an enormous help for painting big armies to a tabletop standard. While I can paint a better than the examples shown, I am glacially slow, so this might even help me get some of my backlog done if it works that well (even if you took the extra time to add a bit more depth to the shading and a bit more dimension to the highlights it would still be pretty fast for some types of models). I did hear the Iron Golems from Warcry on Community were painted with Contrast on The Grand Alliance, and those look pretty good.
The fact that they are letting people test the new paints out at warhammer fest suggests they are confident in their quality. In any case we should be seeing lots of impressions soon.
casvalremdeikun wrote: These Contrast paints have me really intrigued. If I can figure out how to make the Crimson Fists Dark Blue, I will buy tons and tons of these paints.
It's showing the big action figure marine and the chibis
Contrast paint looks fantastic and greatly interests me! I can see it being super popular with a lot of beginners, especially for the way it highlights on its own - which is often one of the greater challenges to learn how to paint.
It will also be interesting to hear how it does with regard to layering and blending colours too!

Well, I hope contrast works better than their gemstone stuff.
I'd really like this to work well enough, especially over a zenithal highlight basecoat for even more contrast between shadow areas and exposed parts. Because I suuuuuck at painting, well, anything without overdoing it once I start "tidying up" after a wash. Last weekend I had the urge to paint again after ages of just converting stuff, took a Blood Rage bear viking, drybrushed his cloak real quick and...glazed it with several tones of orange, green and purple, re-highlighted with a brush, stippled and highlighted a fur texture on the bear head, loaded-brush action on the stone hammerhead to get a high contrast/smooth blend look, went through most of my Scale75 skin tones and my trusty Scorched Brown for a suitably weather-aged, rugged sailor look and had burned several hours on a board game piece to get it half finished. All while several armies with loving conversions wait to be painted (and have reinforcements built or completed).
IF my Nurgle men-at-arms can be basecoat-zenithal lights-contrast 1 for green livery-contrast 2 for white/beige livery - one highlight-tidy up work and skin/metal I'd be SO relieved. If this gives a decent starting point for (C)SM that'd be swell, too, but that is more easily doable right now.
I'm really happy with the Skitarii tank. It's a dual kit, building the "Dunerider" transport and the "Skorpius Disintegrator" which is a 'fast moving battle tank'.
Kanluwen wrote: I'm really happy with the Skitarii tank. It's a dual kit, building the "Dunerider" transport and the "Skorpius Disintegrator" which is a 'fast moving battle tank'.
I think its one of those "URGH! No wait I love it" kind of models. AT first its a bit of a shock as its really different, but then you compare it to the rest of the range for that army and start to realise that it actually fits into them really really well. I love it also because its taking the idea of futuristic hovertanks that we had post WW2 into the 40K world - sure we never got them to work, but right there is the ideal hover transport and tank evolution.
Good work taking the goofy looking Primaris tank and sticking even more gak to its hull. That's exactly the best thing you could have done, GW. Congrats.

I *think* I like it. It's a WW2 landing boat IN SPACE.
I think it'd look better without the weird hovercraft/bumper car rounded edges, though. Or dozens of spider legs.
Edit: what the heck at those demons. They don't reakly look "GW" to me outside of the weapons. That might be because similiar models (DP, Possessed) are really, REALLY bad but actually based on the same design principles. Right now they ssem a bit generic compared to the goat-lion and furies from Warcry, though.
Kanluwen wrote: I love it because it looks like the old Higgins Boat, just hovering.
I think that's why it's not doing anything for me. This is the kind of thing I'd expect to see used by a "colourful local variant" Imperial Guard force in a nice drab green or grey with a few less rounded edges. It feels like the GW Studio guys are just trying too hard to not be the FW Mechanicum models, and it's odd to me that the "modern" AdMech are less grimdark in aesthetic than the version of them from 30K.
Like I say though, I'll reserve final judgement until we have more pics. And hey, worst case scenario, I can convert them into Chimera standins for Guard from a suitably weird monobiome planet.
I *think* I like it. It's a WW2 landing boat IN SPACE.
I think it'd look better without the weird hovercraft/bumper car rounded edges, though. Or dozens of spider legs.
Looks like it's meant to be an actual hovercraft, which is very cool.

I think that, too, but I'm not sure I totally like that.
Looking at the kit I wager you can make it look like a regular "tank" version for transporting very easily by putting the cover over and then not fitting the turret.
Looks like the Chaos Knights codex won't come with Chaos versions of the Armiger and Dominus class knights, but the Questoris Chaos knights will come with plenty of extra spikes and chains to chaosify them.
Yeah, that Skitarii tank makes me want an army of them now. Goddamn it, I just bought a whole army of Primaris Blood Angels. Perhaps allies are in order...
Mad Doc Grotsnik wrote: Just noticed. The Skorpius? It’s got rockets in the front. Initially took them for headlights.
That tank version reminds me of toys and tv shows from the 80-90s. I could well see a tank like that appearing in something like Defenders of the Earth, X-men animated or such similar animations. I wonder if that might be a big element in the love/hate - GW seems to be on a really heavy nostalgia creative roll in my view.
Love the Admech landing craft. Not too upgunned (maybe 4 heavy stubbers?), might have the Fly keyword and maybe even open topped (though those sides are so tall I can see them not being open topped). Basically ideal. Also nice to see a hovertank for Admech too, and since it's dual kit there will be leftover turrets and guns for conversions.
But did anyone want a Primaris Razorback?
And contrast paints...GW seems to imply you'd want to use their 'contrast primer', which looks like it's just white primer. Have they mentioned what's special about it?

So it looks like the turret is Phosphor Blasters while the sides are Cognis Heavy Stubbers. Scratch that. No clue what's going on with the turret mount!
I'm anxious for it though. Hopefully we get a Skitarii HQ soon too...

It's a new loadout for the Repulsor, and I'm okay with anything getting us more Laser Destroyers damnit!

No, just that there's two new colors. Might sound silly, but since Corax White is an 'off' white and Mechanicus Standard Grey is just plain ol' grey? It might be that these colors are meant to be more neutral for the contrasts?

IMO, the hover tank looks to have 4 heavy stubbers, a transport capacity of 10 and open-topped. This could work, I'm guessing it's T6 10W and a 3+ save so it should be pretty cheap. This is the type of transport that I personally hoped for when it came to admech, assuming I'm at least somewhat correct in my guessing.
The disintegrator tank however, that one I'm real curious about. I'm guessing it's T7 since it's hard topped (and probably 11-12 wounds). Any guesses as to its armaments?
The primer for contrast might have a bit of gloss to it so it shines through?
Good to see that the Chaos Knight keeps the Forgeworld-style design of the chainsword which makes it almost impossible for the knight to actually use - the big spike on the end blocks the chain blades from being able to contact the target.

You are right, I also spotted spikey bits from the CSM Rhino/Predator kit in the reveal video, bit silly to tbh, they could have at released at least a new upgrade sprue
- I guess we can`t have everything.
The new repulsor doesn’t look like it has more guns then the old one, just bigger ones.
They removed the guns over the side doors (but left the one over the back) and added 2 rear mounts to the turret.
Looks as if it can the same number of random launchers and such tacked onto the turret. Flavors changed. Krackstorms look the same, circular mounts for icarus missiles? and box of fragstorms (or the useless defensive ones)
Back mini mount looks to be duel guns.
Unless is gets some special magic rules to make it more robust, I don’t really see a need for it. And I don’t see anything visible on the model to suggest increased armor/toughness/invuln. The old repulsor was already overgunned, and had a nice mix of wither AV or anti-horde firepower. This is just going to let you do the same things with some slightly different kinds of dice to roll, while paying more points and (guessing) loosing half your cargo.
All that said, it’s not a bad looking kit. If you like the original repulsor (as I do) If you didn’t like the first one, this one is cut from the same cloth. It does open up some more weapon options to the restricted primaris line, which isn’t horrible.
I just don’t see it bringing enough new to the table to justify dropping the cash on it. I would have preferred to see a undergunned repulsor that could serve as a more economical transport then an overgunned tank that does the same thing as the last, just with flashier guns.
Edit: Just noticed that on the pic with the plasma cannon, it does NOT have the random box launchers glued to the turret. If you don’t need to pay for all the little short range things, it could help to make it more economical as a firebase unit.
The disintegrator tank however, that one I'm real curious about. I'm guessing it's T7 since it's hard topped (and probably 11-12 wounds). Any guesses as to its armaments?
It looks like some sort of autocannon with that muzzle brake, but it probably has multiple main gun options. Definitely a missile launcher and 2 heavy stubbers, though. All these options are going to make it an expensive kit ($$$).
Oooh, that note about the upgrade sprue for Questoris… I’m not sure whether I want it to increase the kit price or not… it had better be available separately though.
Taken from here, the chap that designed the Knight and the Repulsor.
https://twitter.com/edgeblend Nick Ho, the chap with two thumbs up designed the Transport.
The Repulsors would look better without all the extra rocket boxes tacked on the hull. They seem like such an afterthought. Other weapons are logically integrated to the hull.

Likely it will be $157; same as Canis Rex and the Warden.

The upgrade sprue is for Adeptus Titanicus, not regular 40k.

You know, it's actually amazing how many things that used to get bandied about as jokes and memes are now actual things GW are doing
I really can't get a handle on the Skorpius. In absolute terms, I like it, but in the context of the AdMech it just feels off somehow. Like I say a hovercraft D-Day lander is more the kind of thing I'd expect to see in the arsenal of the Guard, or in a scrappier form as the transport of a band of ash waste nomads or something like that. It always annoyed me that the walkers weren't just up-teched versions of existing STC designs, but they're at least fully weird enough to fit with the overall themes of the faction, these just seem a bit too...mundane? Ech, if nothing else it'll make excellent conversion fodder.
The AT and Necromunda news sounds intriguing. I'm interested to see what we're talking about in terms of the Badzones book; is this a little Doom of Molech/Gang War style minibook, or a proper expansion? And if the former, I wonder whether it's better to get it right off or wait & see if there'll be another compilation next year.
Acastus is great, as is the Knight upgrade sprue, and boy howdy am I glad I decided to put off buying more Knight boxes.
The Sister looks lovely painted up, but I don't think she's as close to release as some are hoping since the model looks like a 3D print, so it could still be a few months off yet.
EDIT:
Battlefleet Gothic basically confirmed, and Aeronautica Imperialis? Blow me down. Even if it's just a re-issue if the existing rules, it'll be good to see that game come back, it was a real gem.
Yes, AT Porphyrions! This is great, I love that design but I couldn't ever justify getting one in 40K scale. I hope they have more titany rules so that one can replace the ugly Warhounds with these beauties!

That's my take on it as well, I sort of like the model but I don't think it'll fit in with my trio of Onagers or the rest of my admech force, the buggers can carry on walking... The idea of a looted sci-fi landing craft offloading wave after wave of grots is far more appealing!

Which is, in itself, based off the Landing Craft Air Cushioned(LCAC)--that was a descendant of the Higgins Boat(notably used during the Normandy landings).
The turret on the top is more reminiscent of the Landing Vehicle(Tracked) that the Marines used in the Pacific island hopping campaigns--right down to what looks like a battle cannon on the top.

Contrast seems interesting. It'll definitely work better for some models than others though. I do wonder if that Marine in the initial picture has more than one coat in places, because the Genestealer Cult army has a bit more of a washed out quality than I'd expect with something like this.
Still, if they've made a better white undercoat that's good.
Love the new AdMech transports, it's a good way to make them unique without just making them look like Guard tanks.
The Chaos Knights are fine, but if they were going to make an actual new kit it's a bit of a shame they didn't do the Slaanesh Questors tbh.
The new Repulsor is rubbish, much like the old one. That kit is far too busy and the lack of treads just makes it look weird. The gun variety on that thing was not the problem, it's that it had far too many and looked like a thirteen year old had glued too many guns on a Rhino in third ed. This is the same.
Several of those Delaque heads will be useful for Genestealer Cults.

Ah cool, did they confirm that in the Seminar?
Do they need to? The logo is almost identical to the original and considering that it was the specialist games seminar, it won't be 40k scale. Here's the original books:
40k knowledge of daemons was that 90% of them are tied to one of the 4 gods. In 30k knowledge of daemons is 'urh, aren't they just xenos that live in the warp' so they're seen as a lot more generic.
There's no (or very little) distinction by the Loyalists as to a daemon being a Bloodletter or a Daemonette (other than in obvious physical appearance). Even though 40k/ (we) know that the majority of the Daemons at Signus fighting the Blood Angels were Khornate it's not common knowledge in 30k of what a 'Khorne daemon' is
So with the two Warcry videos, one for the Snakemen and the other being the live action trailer we seem to have only one thing left. Which is the Kill Team video.
Love the new Repulsor variant. Can drop some of the AT responsibilities from Repulsors now.
Just three things we need from a new codex now...
Stratagem support for Primaris units, hopefully providing defensive tools
Tactics for vehicles
Options to drop all those extra weapons from Repulsors if we want

And Warcry since its highly likely most of those models will get rolled into a big Slaves to Darkness release (considering we can see the fiends already).
Shadspire is also technically part of it as those models do cross over to AoS.
Also don't forget AoS might be sufering from the container trade issues. Sylvanath was to be out already and it might well be another Tome is in the waiting for a release too and GW just haven't hinted because there's no point until they know what's happening with the shipments.

I rather doubt it, seeing these are HH hybrid daemons of multiple gods temporarily created by Lorgar and co 10000 years ago (which is why they have multiple colors). Unless great rift allows same shenanigans as ruinstorm, FW writers will just go "there is no fluff justification, frak you".
As for AoS, hahahaha. They can't even maintain existing FWAoS range, or finish basically ready rules (Cyraxus). Emperor will rise from Golden Trone sooner than these lazy will spend 5 minutes creating rules for anything than their pet projects, and even that will take 20 years...

Looks like they are a warm off white and a cool off white for use as basecoats for warm and cool colors respectively.

the repulsor seems... unnesscary yeah. (had they not given it a troop capacity and presented it as a pure tank, it woulda been fine, a predator to the repulsor's razoerback) but as it is, it seems unnesscary duplication. although given it's described as a "modest capcity" my bet is it can only carry 5 troops. which honestly might make it the superior choice as most folks run 5 man primaris squads

My worry is that it is a confused design. A hard hitting anti-tank firepower is certainly something the Primaris line sorely lacks. However, in the pics the secondary weapons are onslaught cannon and heavy bolters. If it cannot have las in those slots like the regular Repulsor, then I don't think it will work as a proper anti-tank platform, I doubt one big gun would do the trick. Is the heavy laser destroyer an existing thing that has 8th edition rules somewhere?
Honestly the Chaos Knights makes sense to me - it's just an official release of an army that gamers already use right now. Only they have to convert the models and use the Imperial Codex; so GW doing a Chaos version using the same core of models and twisting the rules to be more "chaos themed" is a nice twist.
It also sets the ground nicely because chances are those Chaos Titans are the forerunners for Adepticus Titanicus variations being made!
I mean I'd kind of prefer it not to be asymmetrical. Why not just give us two versions of the main gun. I hate that minigun that's on the Primaris vehicles, all the bolt of crap notwithstanding.
Gael Knight wrote: I mean I'd kind of prefer it not to be asymmetrical. Why not just give us two versions of the main gun. I hate that minigun that's on the Primaris vehicles, all the bolt of crap notwithstanding.
It does look a lot better this way. It looks like an Apocalypse tank too. Just paint it dark grey and slap a hammer and sickle onto it.
I'm a massive C&C fan so it's probably my inner Apocalypse tank wanting out.
It just seems daft that they've made this thing another jack of all trades. Just make it a tank and let Primaris get in Land Raiders, or make a Land Raider with Grav if you want to sell new things GW.
The heavy las needs to be somewhat special to be a decent anti tank, it also cannot be d6shots etc. It needs to be longer range and a flat number of shots and then have either or a combination of:
*higher str than a lascannon
*better ap *guaranteed damage such as d3 plus 3
Be interesting if there was an incentive to fire the Gatling onslaught cannon at the same target as the heavy las, such as tracer rounds. A hit from the onslaught allows the heavy las to ignore negative to hit modifiers. +1 to hit may be a bit too much so I’d prefer ignoring negative modifiers.

Maybe in another year, after they have sold a bunch of these, we’ll get the pure tank version of the repulsor.
On the whole, today's event was rather insipid and lacklustre, especially compared to the previous two years...
From beng forced to wait outside for 90 mins, whilst only sending the tea/coffee cart when it was 15 mins from entry, to the endless queing (to get into the building, then into the hall, then to get a wristband for a panel, then to enter the store area, ad nauseam). From the focus on content already released or imminent (and well and truly known about, especially compared to the amount of material shown at previous shows... or even the Open Day back in Jan - today's reveals were paltry - they could have at least shown the Necromunda Enforcers) to the staff's refusal to answer any question regarding Looncurse (despite its prominence even on the promo material and programme for the day, with precisly 0 copies for sale on the floor). A decent range of pod discussions (especially the one on Necromunda Lore by two of the core writers - lovely chaps in how they condicted the session) *but* hampered by the fact this was held in the busy shownroom and conducted without a microphone or speaker, so even only one row back I could only hear about about a thrd of the discussion - and that was with much effort and craning. The Science of Paint panel was very interesting, especially in light of the contrast line unveiling - but it is a sad state of affairs when the best part of the day was being able to purchase pre-release models.
Not a ringing endorsement, and I think this will be my last year unless they actively take feedback on board and improve. And yes, I will be submitting a detailed report of my experience to them.
Crimson wrote: Yeah, at minimum I was expecting multipart versions of the Shadowspear Primaris and an updated codex.
I'm surprised this wasn't a preview to be honest but it's common sense it's round the corner so to speak.
I think a big takeaway is that they're in a position where they can go and fill gaps in ranges. They can pop out a chos knight kit, some primaris anti tank or an admech transport. No need for a massive wave of stuff, just sprinkles for multiple armies which is nice.

Let's recap:
- AdMech vehicle as the one legitimate product
- a sprue of new gun barrels for the Repulsor
- wasting production on a full Chaos Knight kit that doesn't accomplish anything you couldn't do with one sprue of spiky bits
- one incomplete Warcry faction
- BB Halflings that were already previewed before
- rebranded inks
If there had been a yet another Marine Codex plus more Primaris then likely we would not have got stuff for other factions which is what we got.
The new marine tank is not great looking but its another option for by far the most bloated faction in the game. The Shadowspear stuff will come out in time to add to that as well.

I agree, lackluster event. I had hoped for at least more on the sisters of battle. All we got was the painted version of a miniature we had seen a year + ago, and they also didn't give a release date on it.

Overread wrote: Honestly the Chaos Knights makes sense to me - it's just an official release of an army that gamers already use right now.
Only with a new gun so you have to buy again...
Theres no compulsion to buy the new kit at all. Besides as much as the new gun looks a bit like a volcano cannon, it might be a titan super soaker doing 10d6 str1 ap - d1 hits for all we know.

That does sound like a badly run event.
It genuinely felt as though this were their first year running it. And what made the pod session worse was that the toilets from the show floor were down a long hallway lined with small conference rooms - which were all empty, and would have been perfect for such a session!
Why on earth would a ballistic weapon firing tracer give any benefits to hitting something with a high energy laser?

Didn’t make this year, but I did the last two.
Year one I complained about the exact same issue. The painting classes were close to useless due to inability to see/hear.
Year two was much the same :(
If PP can manage a decent seminar setup for painty/hobby at lock and load, and Adepticon, GenCon et al can manage it, I’m unsure as to why GW can’t.
Putting these in the main spaces let alone without cameras and mikes is such a waste. These classes/seminars are one of the best reasons to attend shows. Shame.

I’m not playing an ultra realistic game that has to stick to what we know in the real world.
I just want cool rules that give you an incentive to think and play different ways at times rather than point the laser at the tank and the mini gun at the infantry.
I play a primaris army, so on the whole I’m happy to see the new repulsor sprue. I’ve got a lot of concerns about it though. The one they show seems to have about the same firepower as a normal repulsor - unless the laser is awesome.
Both the built examples have bolters in the hull. If it isn’t allowed lascannons then it might not really have great anti tank firepower.
Likewise both have stubbers for the pilot to fire, and on the rear turret. There do seem to be options for the stuff round the turret though.
GW can’t seem to do basic probability maths, so they seem to think that a macro plasma incinerator is a good gun. But it’s just the same gun a Leman Russ can take. If it’s going to have any power as a battle tank this thing needs the rule something tanks get, letting them fire their main gun twice when moving slowly. That, or the laser needs to be something truly devastating and the plasma gun can stay on the sprue.
Gael Knight wrote: I mean I'd kind of prefer it not to be asymmetrical. Why not just give us two versions of the main gun. I hate that minigun that's on the Primaris vehicles, all the bolt of crap notwithstanding.
You just made that tank 100% better. What is up with GW?
Don't get why people complain turret is "busy". You guys ever saw a real tank? This is busy:
Spoiler:
Two things I really like in new Repulsor is beefy, long barrel with optics that finally looks like a proper tank gun (instead of comically fat, stubby ones found on IG tanks or thin, weedy barrels found on literally everything else). Extra details on turret also help make it look more like a tank, and less like a toy (though as you can see on plasma photo you can leave them off if desired). All in all, would have preferred it to have flatter 'tank' body too, but this is literally first SM vehicle in history that looks like a real tank, IMO, instead of being glorified IFV (all the SM Bradley knockoffs) or toy-like (FW not-Baneblades)...

the repulsor seems... unnesscary yeah. (had they not given it a troop capacity and presented it as a pure tank, it woulda been fine, a predator to the repulsor's razoerback) but as it is, it seems unnesscary duplication. although given it's described as a "modest capcity" my bet is it can only carry 5 troops. which honestly might make it the superior choice as most folks run 5 man primaris squads
the ad mech transport though looks fine. if the Lemen Russ is a WW1 tank brought to 40K, the ad mech transport is a WW2 LCT brought into 40k.
i guess this is their land raider and the other is their land raider redeemer
could be. although what Primaris really need is a Rhino.. it's not BAD it's just... unasked for.
this does however confirm new primaris stuff is definatly inbound soonish
People keep saying Primaris need a 'rhino' and it keeps being wrong.
Primaris don't need a rhino, they just don't have one. No one brings rhino type vehicles. The closest thing you'll see to that is a Venom. Not only that but Aggressors are the only unit that even could benefit from a cheap transport.
If they had a primaris land speeder storm and a Hellblaster squad with 'primaris melta guns' THAT might see play.
NinthMusketeer wrote: So two questions about the new paints that may be buried in here already but I didn't find;
-Do they only work over the special primers?
-Can they be airbrushed?
Not sure about airbrush (although don’t see why not, they’re basically wash consistency and while you shouldn’t use water with them on models that’s just because that makes them dry weird). They work over anything as far as I know (the guy was telling me how to use them over silver to do 30k Thousand Sons, or on power weapons etc). The beige primer makes the colours more vibrant and the grey makes them colder and darker, but I don’t see why you couldn’t do them over anything else. I think the primers are just for the ‘prime and 1 coat’ system they’re advertising for it.

Nobody brings Rhinos because they are overpriced and transport rules got gutted in 8th, not because the need for them doesn't exist.
To be fair, nobody brings marine infantry either, but that's also a problem with the rules. If Marines were good, Rhinoes would be needed.

GW have been pumping out a lot of late. i'v never been a GW apologist but last 2-3years they have got their act together.
