Wow!

Not bad, at least, not so far. (Which, admittedly, isn't that far.)

I still can't see why someone hasn't jumped on the 40K movie bandwagon yet...

I remember back in the day when Warzone was first released I was talking with some guys from Heartbreaker who were doing some demos and even back then there was a film in the works but it never got off the ground. They were saying Arnold and Ben Kingsley were both gonna be in it. I dunno if it was just a fanboy dream or not, but it's good that they finally got it together and from the trailer it looks like it'll at least be watchable

And it looks it's at least a little bit true to the real background, with the different corporations and all

Seconded. Been hearing rumors of a movie for years now. Good to see it finally made it.

I have friend who works in the movie industry and has seen a preview of the Mutant Chronicles movie. He said it is great B rated Sci'fi. He was a little upset that the Mutant Chronicles universe background was changed, but as a stand alone movie it's good.

This in fact is the second attempt to make a Mutant Chronicles movie. The first was during the Target miniatures days and was going to have John Carpenter produce it. After the target project died Carpenter used the sets to create Ghosts of Mars.

I'll go see this when it comes out but will not make the mistake of thinking it'll really represent the Mutant Chronicles background. I really like B rated Sci-fi!

I watched it a few days ago and im sorry to anounce its a tad bad.
Rather than B rated i'd make it C rated, too bad it could have been a hit atleast for fanboys.

I also have seen it a couple weeks ago.

John Malkovich's small cameo role could have easily been played by someone else. The money spent on him probably was not worth it.

Is it great? Nah. But it is better than any roleplaying game made into a movie IMO. Thats not saying much given the dreck movies made for roleplaying game that are out there though.

It suffers from having good actors with bad direction and gives the otherwise decent actors a bad name.

It is great for being a B-rated action movie though considering that the budget was that great to begin with. I recall early snips of clips regarding the development of the sets and they seemed cheesy as all hell, but considering that these sets were probably used as greenscreen and to give the actors some idea of what is where, I am now understanding the limited budget scope alot more. The majority of the money seems to be spent on the digital aspects of the film.

Get a bunch of guys together and go watch it. Its fun. Just leave the thinking side of your brain at home. That side will ruin it for you if you allow it. Dont see it with high expections, nor with any regards to the mutant chronicles genre. See it because you want to see stuff blow up.

Nothing this movie does can outdo the terrible things Uwe Boll does to an actors name.

Truth, but the director certainly does try.

The first one may have been B rated but it was all down hill from there. I wouldn't watch that one with your eyes.

I thought the first one was awesome... I can't believe they did that to the sequels.

That being said, this is that second time I've seen the topic of Mutant Chronicles. I kind of want to see it even if it is a B-rated movie.

What I've seen makes this look a lot like the Equilibrium movie with Christian Bale from a few years ago. If you saw Ultraviolet (same director) it has a similar aesthetic.

I expect it to be about the level of the former and not the latter. Although Valerie Duval may be a draw for some boy.

I think it's playing in Europe at the moment. They probably need a major distributor to get it shown in the US.. their site doesn't have any movie company logos on it so I assume they're shopping it around at the moment.

I watched it last night, I found a place to download it. It's out there if you know how to find that kind of stuff. I found it to be really enjoyable. The effects were really well done. The story had a few holes but overall was good. The opening war scenes just made me think of imperial guard vs demons.

I would compare it to something like Chronicles of Riddic in good-ness. A lot of gamer types and sci fi and horror fans will enjoy it but I think the general movie going public will be too critical because they need to have every little thing explained away and have no imagination anymore. You can tell they had a limited budget but it really seems like they spent every penny wisely and probably most of it went to the special effects. Seemed like they filed the whole thing in front of a bluescreen, like 300.

The 40K movie that could have been.

Looks tight. I'll be buying this one on DVD when the time comes. Zombies, 40k scifi, whats not to love. I don't want oscar nomination stuff, I want T and A , Gratuatous violence, and good SCI FI stuff.

Like what I see so far.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

ST3 has Jolene Blalock in it? I'll watch it with my own eyes, thanks!!!!!

Warzone is still one of my all-time favorite minis games, and I loved the fluff enough to play in a few MC RPG campaigns (despite RPG rules with holes the size of Mars).

I can't wait to see it, if only to see someone else's 'view' of the MC universe.

Hi,

Seen it and ST3, both are alright if you take them for what they are. They are not what the critics out there are ever call "classics. neither would do well mainstream, that is a cinema release.

ST3 is a big step up from 2 and though has pretensions falls short of the original. Got to love the tag line "Do you want to buy more" - you need to see the film - that almost makes it a GW production.

MC has decent effects, although I am not sure about the changes in fluff and where steampunk came in and is watchable, if predictable. It do make you wonder if a 40k film is possible if people (fanboys) lowered their expectations
