I plan to run at least 10+ tanks in a 2k list.

Very cool. Maybe a black gas mask with a brighter green highlight on the lenses? Just something to break up that gray without looking too "new."

True that - nice suggestion!

A more glowing eyes will definetly look more menacing, with black gas mask.

I think I'll also color the shoulder pads/armor a little different or something - or black.

You don't need to be told how awesome this army will be.

But I will tell you anyway. This will be an effing awesome army.

As for my suggestions, don't do anything until more have weighed in. Other may have better color suggestions but you definitely need to break that gray up. Maybe something with gloves? As is, looks like a UNA guy from AT-43 or maybe a Tannhauser mini.

But again: simply awesome army coming up here.

OR if someone has a better color scheme - please advise!

I'm really up and open to switch the grey up - its just something i whipped up real fast haha.

I think the grey suits the DKOK fluff, considering what Kieg has gone through. But it does need to be broken up a bit as Manchu has said. A black gas mask and gloves (as well as boots), would do nicely as mentioned before and the idea of brighter green lenses.

Maybe paint the helmet and shoulderpads a dull metallic colour?

My two cents is that you could do a bone/cream color inside the coat (so it would appear at the turnbacks at the bottom and at the cuffs).

For a more subdued look you could start with Khemri Brown and highlight up to Kommando Khaki. I think that might go some way to breaking up the grey, along with the other suggestions, which I like too.

Of, course you can pull it all together at the end with some Scorched Brown mud and weathering.

I'm looking at doing death korps and have spent the last few months collecting every pic I could find online (coolminiornot is an excellent resource.

You obviously want grey...

The helmet and armour grey is excellent.... how about carry that through to the cladding on the rifle.

Go a lighter grey for the great coat (for example use codex grey, then highlight with fortress grey if you used adeptus battle grey for the armour).
The inner lining of the coat a bone or even better, bloor red to give a shock of colour (WW1 french trenchcoats which the DKOK suits are based on were essentialy a shadow grey with blood red lining)
Mask a bone colour... SKULLS!
Bone webbing, gaiters and boots.

Then do the bases with Grey, devlan mud wash then drybrush grey, then the grass you have.

Simple pallete, quick to paint, easy to reproduce, looks good, and the base will fit with your model, whic it doesn't currently.

Personally I'm going with close to a WW1 German scheme...
Feldgrau (Field Grey, which is a pale green) trench coat (from Vallejo), codex grey trousers, adeptus battle grey armour and helmets (I want adeptus battle grey tanks), bone mask and webbing and a bone highlighted with grey rubble base.

That looks like it is gonna be one really impressive army when it's done!!

As for the scheme I agree - black leather (gasmask/gloves/boots) and more distinct goggles will go down a treat, also I'd consider maybe making the trousers camo or at least khaki green to bring some colour to the mini. Possibly make the armour green or DARK metallic. Considering the numbers you're gonna be painting it would probably be advisable to stick to easy colours with a limited pallete.

Again good luck with the army - I'll keep a eye on what is being put out!!

So after my hiatus from modeling - i came back and worked on my stuff and whipped up a new paint job from people comments.








Its not done yet - greys need work.

Eyes - and etc.

Though if people could give some comments - would be nice!

I haven't ever really liked their grey colour scheme(not yours specifically,I have never liked their scheme in general).Yet I must say you are making good progress.Looking nice thus far hope to see more soon.

OT:How is that everblight hordes army coming?

Rather excited... building up an imperial navy on the side as well.

On the good side, is how you should take it (I hate painting bulk numbers of troops, my elysian army has 25 troopers and half are still waiting...). I love the foundry system, same 3 colours each time and a doddle to blend between.

If I went for a colour scheme I'd probably go for a dark dull combat green... the kind you'd see on some Wehrmacht uniforms... I think that'd look great on Krieg greatcoats? Black gasmasks and black boots as said, ofc...
