Man, the 'eavy Metal team have really been upping their game the past couple years. What a fantastic model.

Awesome model, won't be buying it because of the price though. Another $17.50 and I could buy the whole space hulk boxed set!

It is a cool model, i saw it on another website. I thought it was azhag as there is a WD on him in September. I was just checking and im glad i did. I have no intention of using Azhag in my army but its so cool i might just have to buy it and use it as o boss on wyvern.

Is lovely! And I might just treat myself to one before long.

As I mentioned in the other post about him (well about the imperial guard characters with his pics in it) I think the Wyvern is amazing, it's pose is brilliant and such a move on from the pose of the rakath/VanHorstmann/Arsnil dragons who's poses so summed up the cruddiness of the red age dragons we were left with for so long. Az himself? Kind looks like he's stoned, not frenzied or malevolent but goofed out on reefer madness. I think it's a shame and I could certainly see modelling potential to use the Orc Warlord from Avatars of War as a replacement from the waist up.

Ultimately too expensive for me, and I'm as yet undecided on what I'll be building on my return to WHFB sometime in 2010/11, but since I already got orks in 40k, it seems, despite my love for them in fantasy as well, that I would select another army.

Why is it over $82? There's no reason for it to cost that much, there's no possible way to justify $82 fething dollars for this thing. Another clear case of GW being out of its fething mind.

If you do buy this thing then can I please borrow $200 to fix my car? Seeing as how you're just throwing your money away I figured you might be interested in actually putting it to good use instead. No?

Well its far bigger then the current wyvern boss and all metall too... so i guess it makes sense that its 80... but i agree... its way over priced. But isnt everything games workshop sells?

Simple. This is a relatively low yield expectation sales wise. Most O&G players wil already have the one flying nasty in their army, thus unless someone is entirely new, or really wants Azhag himself (and haven't converted him given the lengthy wait for the release) the player is unlikely to *need* this one.

Add in the reported difficulties they had in producing this bad boy, and you have additional costs in production.

So once again, don't want it or can't afford it, don't buy it. Simples. I like it, and am contemplating buying it. But yes, the price is fairly hefty, especially as I already have a Wyvern I converted up and am proud of!

I'd buy it if it was 40% cheaper. That price isn't good enough value for money.

Pricing aside..looking at the assembly PDF file, I'm glad to see that Azhag can be separated from the Wyvern.

The face and trophy rack are just a little too goofy for my taste. I could see using the plastic Orc Boss/Black Orcs or even the Gorbad Ironclaw bodies as replacements.

If it was plastic I would actually buy it but that much metal is insane. One drop and pinning wouldn't save it either. I just don't understand why you would make a model that large and not have it be plastic especially after the high elf dragon rider has set the standard. Even the new Chaos Dragon looks much better.

Collector's model= higher price tag+metal.

Dunno why, but that's the way it goes.

I'll be buying him (likely 2 of the model, one for Azhag and one for Black ork warboss on wyvern) but it will be a few months as I blew my fat cash on my pre-order of space hulk. :(

Jah, I know there is a chance he gets a dark magic amp feedback, I just wouldn't want an orc in my army looking that mellllllllllooooowwwww.... /shrug IMO he should look disturbingly evil and sinister for an orc, he's being slowly possessed by a remnant of Nagash after all.

It's good to see that the sculpt hasn't changed much if at all from the resin one leaked on Warseer back when the O&G book was released.

Not worth $82. Not worth $50 IMO. What's the banner pole attached to? His butt? Crap. They could have done better for that price tag.

I dunno about that, I think $50 is more than reasonable. $82 is just way too much, even if it is brilliant.
