Arrgh Matey! Black Friday is on the Horizon

If you're not from the US you might not know, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving (Nov 27 this year) when Americans traditionally start our Christmas shopping and stores have HUGE sales.

As I mentioned earlier I think the last one was an extra 5% off GW (25% total) and then 10% off the rest of the store with some stuff on clearance as well.

Seriously, I was told it was the usual 25% off with the possibility of new package deals (similar to bitz but box/blister items)

The year Apocalypse came out The War Store put some serious discounts on the Apocalypse bundle deals that didn't move too well for them when Black Friday came around. Examples:
- The Wind Rider Host: already a great deal from GW, The War Store took about another $20 off of it.
- Necron Phalanx (two Monoliths): This box was $90 from GW saving $20 over list price, but The War Store ended up selling some for $63, just $8 more than MSRP for one Monolith!
- IG Tank Trios: Remember the 3 Leman Russ deal and 3 Basilisk deal? Those were $90 from GW, saving $30 at the time off of buying three models separately. The War Store reduced their remaining stock on those to someting in the neighborhood of $78 if I recall.

Who knows what kind of deals The War Store will have this year, but it's always worth giving it a look!

Why or why did I not get the Wind Rider Host?? But I did get a big ole pile of Tau!

Yea, last year I got a three pack of LR's. As it turns out, the WarStore ran out of the Apoc packs, and so just sent me 3 individual tanks at the same price.
I am definitely looking forward to spending far more money than I can afford this Black Friday.

Of course, if someone has an opening at their company for an APO Power User or Supply Chain monkey, it will help me afford a lot more...

The only notable thing I have seen is from their site, which is the fact that the sale starts at 00:01 Thanksgiving day, not Black Friday proper. No word on what will be for sale yet though, besides the bonus 5% off GW.

Glad I decided to wait til this weekend to make orders. New Guard army is going to be getting a much needed armor boost. Hopefully there are some bundle deals as well. Can't wait.

Yes, The War Store is cleverly trying to get us to spend our Black Friday dollars with them while we're sitting around on Thanksgiving Day before we have a chance to spend it all with other merchants the following day. Here's the text from their website:

Yea, I have had nothing but excellent experiences with the WarStore over the years, so much so that my wife notices when a week goes by without a package labeled "Your Reinforcements Have Arrived!" showing up on our door step.

I am hoping to get some beast men for conversions, a Stompa and Stormblade, and probably pre-order the new Fortress of Solitude, or whatever the new building is. Trying to keep it light this year, so under 300$

Ditto that and then some. I do wonder whether the new sprues wil have some useful stuff, but at least a few large herds of the old ones is probably a good idea for any Beastman player that hasn't already got 2500 points.

Do you really think missile-Ungors will be worth it? I guess you can always plink at something while waiting for the ambushers to show up and the chariots to get close.

Also, it seems like everyone and their cousin has a few hundred old Brettonian bowmen and/or old Empire milita sprues laying around. Those might make easier conversions than the WE bows, as they're less ornate to start with.

I'm not sure. If they're cheaper than all hell, I could see a skirmishing shortbow unit having its uses.

I just checked. It wasn't working at first, but it's working for me now.

It took a while to get in, I'm assuming due to the amount of people all trying to access the page. Appears this year it's 5% off the order total, and also a discount on the limited release GW items (the spearheads for Fantasy that are still in stock, some of the terrain bundles, the megaforces). I didn't look at the other sections as load time was massive.

Big thing is to get the extra 5% you MUST ENTER 'BLACK FRIDAY' IN THE COUPON CODE.

He already sales GW at 20% off so another 5% is a lot. Look at the bigger picture of savings. There are also savings on some things that that is beyond just another 5%, such as the one I listed in my post right above yours.
