Clicky clicky
Finally some news!

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

This is only a tiny tidbit of news. We can't judge the whole game based on this, considering it's not due for a couple of years at least.

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. Emprah's always right. Plus Ole Red has already been denounced as a traitor and I never liked him anyway. Russ: You're about to die, cyclops! Magnus: O noes! Tzeentch, I choose you! Bawwwww! Russ: Ah well. Now to go kill Horus. Russ: Rowboat, how have you not been doing anything? Guilliman: . . . I've been writing a book. Russ: Sigh. Let's go. Guilliman: And I fought the Word Bearers! Horus: Oh shi--Spess Puppies a'comin? Abbadon: And the Ultramarines, sir. Horus: Who? Anyway, this looks bad. *enter Sanguinis* What are you doing here? Come to join me? Sanguinius: *throws self on Horus's power claws* Alas, I am undone! When you play Castlevania, remember me! *enter Emprah* Emprah: Horus! So my favorite son killed my favorite daughter! Horus: What about the Lion? Emprah: Never liked her. Horus: No one does. Now prepare to die! *mortally wounds Emprah*Emprah: Au contraire, you dick. *kills Horus* Dorn: Okay, now I just plug this into this and . . . okay, it works! Emprah? Hellooooo? Jonson: I did nothing! Guilliman: I did more nothing that you! Jonson: Nuh-uh. I was the most worthless! Guilliman: Have you read my book? Dorn: No one likes that book. Khan: C'mon guys. It's not that bad. Dorn: I guess not. Russ: You all suck. Ima go bring the Emprah back to life.

Hey man, I rummaged through 4chan to find the link. I didn't find it anywhere on the Relic forums, Whineseer or Taco Bell.

I can't wait for the series of high-quality short-film-length full CGI videos that show off nothing of the actual game, just like every other MMO gets.

To give them the benefit of doubt, art and gameplay tend to be handled by different teams of people, so it's not like the existence of these concept pieces in any way means there aren't people mucking about with other more vital areas.

I know, I was kinda hoping for an appearance of the Mk.VIII gauntlets, which look a bit like powerfists, but smaller. A bit like the ones that IG use.

Yeah I wouldn't consider 'what game play looks like' to be a 'boring' aspect of the game.
But yeah, this isn't the makers of this MMO's fault. I just dislike MMO's generally.

Trouble is, what do the players play? Because you cannot restrict player access easily so most of rthe stuff would have to be unplayable background items or everyone will want to have a princeps character. I can see marine captains outnumbering guardsmen, so actually all this you see will likely be vapour unavialable to players.
We are likely looking at the high level mobs the chaos faction players get to shoot at a character Imperium players get quests from.

It is nice to see something. It would be better if we had some sample animation but oh well.
So far it looks good as far as aesthetic of the graphics go...but then again WAR started out looking and sounding good but now look at it. It could be worse and we could have chibi-40k.

Honestly I think this could really go either way, though if it is much like warhammer online I will be sorely disapointed. Warhammer was great with the leveling I thought, but the utter lack of end game content made it well rather suck. The graphics were alright, but soarly lacking in true tone definition. The fact that their is an almost infintie amount of fluff does enable the games though to have lots of addons which makes it much easier on the designers, but if they have been going for years and have not released much I fear they have fallen into the trap of can the progect, or push it out and work as it goes(both of these can be bad). The problem a lot of companies are facing is they want the success that blizzard had which is great and all, but they arent putting their own spin to their games and thus run out of money, and then we just have another cheap wow knock off. Personally I quit wow because well the endgame was great for the first few years they dumbed it down to much and all they did was essentially recycle bosses which in the end made the game not so fun. I am personally excited for the stargate MMO which hopefully will get refunded and release next year, as now I have two games to watch out for I think.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

I think as long as they don't go around proclaiming they will be super awesome and have all these awesome things...then not live up to it they should do decent.

Hey, I found the problem!
They didn't drill their barrels! That explains everything!
I will say that overall, those models are REALLY nice. Doesn't say much for the game, but it's important that they get the look down.

Functioning eyes, separated fingers, and high quality normal and spectral mapping. This is going to be a pretty taxing MMO for systems. They definitely seem to have the right proportion to the models, and the art direction seems pretty good from a modeling standpoint. It's good to see it's coming along well.

I think Vigil started in 2006. I'm surprised that this is all they've got after 3 yrs. MMO development cycle is generally 3-4 yrs.
As comparison - Cryptic studios started Star Trek Online Jan. 2007, releasing Feb. 2010.

The artwork is nice, but it's a long way from showing anything that indicates code has been written and that a playable game is likely to materialize for sale. Computer games development is fraught with nearly infinite hazards that can kill their being finished or released at any number of steps along the way , so I wouldn't get too excited about this till it's clear that a finished product will eventually have a definite and specific release date.
