Close friend worked on the CGI for it. All he said was that the previews don't do the movie justice. Being a lot of the CGI was done out of Peter Jacksons studio in New Zeland I forone can not wait for it to hit theaters.

I cant wait to see the movie. I just have to tune out the whole booo hooo we raped the natives to increase our wealth vibe I got fromt he preview. Still looks like a great flik though.

Looking forward to it but just very nervous that it's going to be a morality tale about how the natives are perfect and we're just greedy bastards... and that guys with heavy weapons and armor are going to lose to people armed with sticks.

Just saw this action sequence from the movie, I'd imagine this is similar to how a Catachan or Kroot would handle a huge Tyranid:

Still looks like a Night Elf from WoW but the special effects quality looks top notch which they usually are in Cameron films. I'd imagine it'll look even better on a big screen like the Imax but even on my Vizio it looks pretty nifty.

From what I have heard, its plot is not as Ferngully as people assume.

Good. Then it may be that the previews are designed to lure those in hoping to see something they may or may not. It looked as if there was a lot going on in the previews, something for everyone type of movie.

If you mean the Disney version of Pochahantas, then yes, yes, it is. If you mean something like the actual event or The New World, then no.
It is also almost three and a half hours long.

Yes disney, humans bad except the ones who help the "natives" oo look natives with sticks take down battlecruisers... The real Pocahontas was way cooler.
On the flip side Cameron (at least in his director comments for Aliens) was not exactly a tree hugger and I've not been disappointed yet.
I wonder if they will have an intermission. Thats a long bleeping film.

And some British gentleman back in the late 1800's and early 1900's proved how well large animals fair versus technology. About the same as small ones, not so good.
