With chrismas around hte corner I am expecting some money. Some of this money is going to be spent on this hobby and i would like to buy some of the more expensive models for cheaper.
I've read the thread further down about maelstrom games but i am wondering which of the discout sites is best. I see many advertised on Dakka, all with cheaper prices but im wondering which ones are cheapest?? Do any gove you faulty models??Have they got a fast service??
Ive always got Amazon as an option but i was wondering if there are better ones. What have been your experiences with these?? Which, in your opinion, is best?? Also i want it to be in the UK.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Maelstrom is good, I've bought from them before. Free postage and a fairly good 15% ish discount. I also imagine that they will have a Christmas sale too.
Just remember to buy before the new year as the VAT is due to go back up.

BuyForLess Online are pretty good, nice discounts and also do bulk sales (3 Monoliths, or 10 Ogryn blisters for example) at slightly cheaper than even their own prices. The Warhammer sections carry packs of brushes in 10s for about £20ish, and all paints individually.
No problems with delivery, plenty of options too; from 2nd class royal mail up to next day courier I believe, and the same with payment options, they'll even give you an account number so you can stop by the bank and transfer the money directly to them (my old bank account card didn't like online sales, so that helped a lot).
Delivery, well.. you'll get what you pay for, £2 i think it was for my last order at 2nd class. Took a while to get to me, but then there was those postal strikes on at the time.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

I use Bitkingdom. I've seen them get a bad rap on ocassion, but I've only had good experiences with them. Just a while ago I bought "IG Dude" for $7 - an OOP Witchhunters Scribe I saw going on Ebay for around $40. I'll keep it for my Inquisitor's retinue though.
Prices are amazing though. A $35 chimera drops down to $22.

+1 for gamingfigures.com. Great site that I've used a number of times now. Only had small problems with one order in the past (and that was down to a late shipment of stock from GW), and the discount is really nice. The only downside is that credit/debit cards are only accepted over the phone- if you want to use a card online, you need to go through Paypal (which is no problem for me).
Also, I didn't even realise they were from Middlesbrough/Redcar until after I'd ordered

I have used both The Warstore and Chaosorc. Both are great. Warstore only charges about $6 for shipping and they get you your orders pretty fast. Been awhile since I've used Chaosorc, but, I've been eyeing some of the stuff on the site for a bit now....with any luck I'll be placing an order from him soon.

As far as I understand, the Warstore is located in the US and if that is true you would want to avoid them (looks like you live in the UK from you profile info) because you would have to pay european import tax on the figures.
Maelstrom games is great, but if you are going to make a large order I would choose wayland games. Sure you have to pay for shipping (well... If you shop for enough they actually give free shipping. Last time my group shopped we got it for free), but Maelstrom games send your stuff in multiple packages. We shopped for around 1500£ last time and Wayland Games sent it all in one package. Maelstromgames would have sent it in 16 different packages... I trust the danish postal service, but not to the extend that I would risk 16 different packages
So for larger orders I would recommend Wayland Games, but for singe figures/your new Nids Codex I would recommend Maelstrom games.
Hope this helps
Cheers

Do we have an Australian site that supports troops?? For me, Maelstrom and Warstore are brilliant!! Order from Maelstrom because of shipping alone (I tend to order small things), But for big orders, it's kinda a wash for me. Should have a look at Wayland games though, keep hearing good things

Nobody ever got upset merely that one would suggest ordering from maelstrom if one is from the US. You are completely blowing whatever misinterpreted comment you found out of proportion. Maelstrom is a fine store. The War Store is cheaper on many items for US residents.

Try going to your FLGS in person and ask politely whether or not they can offer you a discount if you spend over £X.
They tend not to advertise these sorts of discounts but it quite often works.
The biggest bonus of this is not having to be at home on the day of delivery and getting an exciting phone call when your stuff comes in!!!
It also keeps real life people and shops in buisness so that you will have someone to game with and somewhere to game!
Nothing better than supporting your independent local gaming store.
