I had a lot of DA Icons....( i cut off the angel and green stuffed in a Imperal eagle icon...( griffons are to hard to scuplt that small). Enjoy

Hmm.

Whilst I love the amount of bits you have, I think you might have over-done the purity seals on the Dreadnought's front. They look scattered and randomly placed, which looks a tad messy, IMHO.

Some people play to win, some people play for fun. Me? I play to kill toy soldiers.

Nicely done thus far. Will we see some paint soon? I assume the green stuff on the top is going to become long laurel wreathes? I love the massively unnecessary amount of purity seals and devotional scroll cases. It looks just like what some of the more pious Chapters would adorn their Venerables with.

Do you have any plans to close the gap between your plasticard and the top of the power plant between the shoulders?

Yes Its ABOR Dread( like most of my Army sofar Is ABOR) I dont think i have enough seals and scrolls on it ... Howling Griffons always Write down Vowel, and Oaths every time they go into battle...

Its the protype Venerable dread right now... Im going too pick up a few more AOBR dreads so i can Run 6 in the army...( that right if you been keeping up with all the dreads ive shown it will be 18 dreads all together)

No no, too many purity seals. If your going to add that many scrolls and the like, try spreaing it around the vehicle, like on the shoulder arms, shin panels ect.

why would i put them on the shin???( they would get knocked off while i was trampling through building, might get pinched in joints and tear off??) shoulder well same thing too.. movement of joints torn off while walking under a tree or thur a building...
the body is the best part to but seals or on the back. Plus though arms will not alway be on the same Dread. I like too switch weapons on my models.

If they would get knocked off then why would they be on there in the first place? Besides its the 41st millenium. The Imperium probably has some pretty strong super duper crazy glue that sticks to anything. Plus it's a machine of war, not a walking bible.

I love the heavy use of purity seals. It just SCREAMS grimdark and that makes me dance with glee. Glad to see this Dreadnought returned to His service.

Guess you have No ideal about the Howling Griffons and the the battle oaths they take before each battle.
There worst then BLack templars and a Word bears,
There Armor is cover in seals , scrolls and oaths, weather fulfilled of not, there reminders of there Fallen Brothers...
Plus its my model for my personnel use, if it was for someone else then i would model it for them.

I do repect ur critimism and comments.

Your right. It just seemed a bit over the top and crowded the first time, but every time I scroll back up to the top of the page, I'm liking it more and more.

THERE IS NONE PURER.

Seriously tho. Love the enthusiasm and I like a lot of the work that has been done on the model but I have to agree theres a few too many purity seals, especially directly on top of the sarcophagus.

Sure the dreadnought may have a few too many purity seals, but it's kinda like having too much dakka.

"Dreadnought, we commend your valour in battle, but will need to renew your vows. Unfortunately, there's not enough time to take down the old seals and give your hull a nice wash to get rid of the icky bits of seal left over. So, just take these fresh ones as well and we'll give you a nice wash down when we can. "

This'll definately be a thread to watch, I'd say.

Well i decided to do the front of the dread different. The helmet was the hardest thing to find , the right look and stuff.

last but not least some gillie suit scouts WIP still need to add foilage and leaves too them (instead of camo cloaks)

I like the ghillie suits, and the dread's turning out quite nicely.
Been thinking of getting some scouts w/ snipers and doing something similar, but I was going to use flock on their camo cloaks.

I was thumbing thur a squardon insignal book the other day and i was looking at snipers and there blinds/ early sniper suits.( using netting and burlape sacks, etc) and then i looked in my closet and found my old paintball gillie suit and said hey scouts would wear this.

Neat work! I think I liked the first iteration of the dreadnought's body more than the 2nd though - something about that helmet bugs me. Love the overzealous use of purity seals. Does a wonderful job of indicating it's just a little bit nuts.

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Helmet makes it look like a templar/paladin, I kinda dig it :O!

He looks absolutely massive, which is very nice.

Im going to green stuff a Roman brush on top of it , or some type of scroll work on the helmet( i know it looks kinda plain, I didnt like the gaint bull horns from the side of it.)

Dont worry I have five more venerable dreads to build still, so you will see more seals and scrolls on the other ones. The Protypes are always over the top.

The fun part is naming all of the Dreads... This one is Brother Cypher

I'm liking the dread's new facade. And is that a terminator front body in the sarcophagus area? Definately nice work so far.

I prefer the second version of the dread, the first had to many purity seals and scrolls on it, not it looks more realistic (well granted this is 40k, but I think the point stands). The scouts loot nice, though I am more of capes guy myself.

There's an easier and better-looking way to make ghillie: check out gauze bandage. In my gallery I have some snipers made with it. Just cut out little squares and paste it on with PVA glue and paint it, it looks awesome. GS looks good too, it's just more expensive and time consuming.

Love the ven. dread though. You really are putting work into it!

NOt really on the seals those just came off of two tactic squads spurs i had laying around...( i still have a bout a hand full of seals left for all the other dreads Im going to convert.) Side not this dread still has the same about of seals as thge first version, its just the round termie body which offsets them verses the flatness of the main body.
I have to use the gauze techic for making foilage on the suits.... thanks for the advice.
