It's gaking out Termagants! Bring it down!
Nice conversion, may one ask how you modelled the torso of it? And the birthtube bit is interesting as well.
Looking at it again, I especially like the neck vanes, nice modelling there, mine don't look nearly as good.
Only criticism is that the tervigon has a somewhat surprised look on. I don't get the "I'm endangered, I spawn Termigants"-vibe.

The birth tube thingy is spectacular. Not to fond of the ribcage/torso bit. But overall, very impressive. Off for ebay or on to the gaming table?

The torso is molded from the headscales and then applied on the torso, I reshaped each molded part to make it uniqe. The birthing tube is made in several on layers starting with grey-stuff tube that I twisted and bent in the basic shape.
Suprised you say... I intention was that it should look down on the termagant, My next version will stand on all "legs" like the codex one. This one stands up to ease the "birth".
Savis wrote:The birth tube thingy is spectacular. Not to fond of the ribcage/torso bit. But overall, very impressive. Off for ebay or on to the gaming table?
Any ideas of what on the ribcage/torso that is wrong. I shaped it to be "flexible" in order for termagants to breed inside. That why I have added sections of scales.
Thanks for all feedback.

I love the tube, reminds me of the queen from Aliens. Though the beast looks way too top heavy to be walking around on those two tiny legs without toppling over like a penguin traversing a ball pit. Maybe adding an extra pair of legs to evenly distribute the weight.
Also the head seems kinda plain and boring when compared to the rest of the model. Fantastic sculpting though!

Hmm, it should be raised, since I planned to make it look like that it raised itself in order to "give birth". Maybe if I re-arrange the back talons, soo it braces itself with thoose aswell.
Yea, the head could get some extra attention.

V nice. I think 'she' needs bigger feet though, she looks very unstable considering how top heay she is. (Bigger legs too would also be nice, but probably too much work.)

Don't see what's wrong with the head. No different from the one in the Codex pic.
The only "missing" is the central funnels, but that looked rubbish in the Codex pic anyway.

Excellent job sir.
Sure, the chest does look weird for a nid, but then again, its breeding gaunts so it has to look a bit softer and flexible.

I agree with a couple others here that the legs seem a little small. Maybe bulk them up a little to match the rest of the model. Overall thats one hell of a conversion!

Very nice indeed
IMO it would look better if the talons were jutting away from the body; would give it that 'Rawr, i am drowning my foes in freshly spawned gants' look. At the moment, it looks like it's in difficulties.

Thanks for all the feedback.
I have re-arranged the talons. Now it supports itself on the front talons and thay have an outwards angle. I have some final smothing to do on the scales on the back and the head will get some extra detail.

For some reason, when I envision the Tervigon spitting out gaunts, I see an anus-like opening at the bottom of a stomach sack, and not a tube-like protrusion.
But that has nothing to do with the awesome awesome sculpting work done, I just think the tube looks a bit funny.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

Given the things coming out of it, you'd be surprised too. I'm not a huge fan of the number of underside plates modelled, but overall, a very nice job, especially with the birthing tube.
