Good good, be intrigued to see if the dread does have a "corpsey" part/option to it or not. Be cool for yet anotehr chaos dreadnought conversion if so methinks.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

this was my take on the ven sprue had to zoom and stare at pixels for about 4 mins.

Thank God for plastic KKs, I bought a few metal ones a few months back and they were a disgrace to assemble.
Nearly took a couple of fingers off trying to glue/fit them.

Ah, in which case, I was iradiating my corneas by looking at the wrong sprue

I'm fairly certain the red bits aren't sarcophogi

Correct on the heads methinks, but I wonder if the corpse/pilot might be pre modeled on the frontpiece and then "hidden" by a (hinged ?) frontpiece.. kind of gorget kind of thing.

the close cmabt arm looks fairly generic but it migh tbe a clar its face down ont eh sprue fromt eh direction fo the camera and there is also a heavy flamer on the sprue as well liek the normal plastic marine one

I think if you look at the sprue closely there are a good number of bits that look like they make the arms and armor plates less generic, in a way similar to the current crappy metal model.

I think if you look closely at the torso, its designed to allow you to choose between the standard dreadnought sarcophogus and the venerable version with the helmet. That'll be fun for conversions.

This definitely looks more versatile.

I'm not excited, but I'm not displeased. I'm a sucker for expansions (I assume that's what Battle Missions is?) and in my collection, all I've got are Black Reach Dreads that I've more or less "ruined" by trying to make them Venerable. So the Dread kits excite me, make my wallet tear up a bit, but leave me wanting to see more.

Is there any info on what Battle Missions is going to contain?

Radda.

A series of scenarios to create a bit of variety from the three on offer in the current rule book.

I wish I could tell what weapons were on the sprues for the Ork Dread and Kans.

I know I'd be a bit more excited if I could tell!

Finally!

The kanz sprue looks nice and crowded and there seems to be some quite large pieces that look like shoulder armour for the deff dred, this has me all excited...

Thanks for a quick response

That sounds fun. I can't wait to see more of it. Is there an estimated drop date?

Well, that's right around the corner. Rock on.

Now, out of curiosity, is the current metal VenDread that bad that they wanted to re-kit it? Because I want one and it looks sick.

And does the plastic kit mean that it won't be $50 like the metal one?

On the Dredd sprue I can see 3 DCCWs, 2 KMBs, 4 BS and 1 Rokkit launcha. Kind of an odd assortment.

On the Kan sprues I see 1 BS, 1 RL and 1 Grotzooka, and 5-6 DCCWs.

(based on that preview pic of the painted Deffdread, the sprue on the far bottom right goes with the Dread, the one in the middle goes with the Kanz)

Their long term objective is to make the entire product line plastic. Seems like they're starting with the bigger metal kits. The metal Venerable Dreadnought wasn't that bad, but hey, plastic is always better. Now I wish they'd make some more plastic 'Nids soon. :(

The plastic Venerable Dreadnought will be £26.00 / US$43.00 / € 35,00 / Oz$72.00

I think it may be the other way around, the middle sprue has some large iron gob looking pieces on the left side, probably intended for the dred.

Plastic models do allow for more customization. The price is $7 less than the current metal one I won't complain, because I know I'm buying a metal one and at least one plastic one. Damn GW. Damn me. Damn money.

You're right, I miss-identified the Gob bitz. I thought the one in the bottom corner of the right sprue was the best match for the painted Dread, but it's actually the one halfway up the bottom right edge of the left sprue, along with the giant teef in the bottom corner.

Is it just Hobby centers that get the Black Boxes or do FLGS get them also?
