How large are these miniatures? They seem exceptionally expensive for 28mm, but that is what it seems.

The Badger its pretty bulky, and comparable in mass to a Khador Man-O-War from Privateer Press.

Rather hefty price tag I will admit, especially for so little that comes with it. good looking models though as you develope the line I may be interested.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

We've learned a bit from making these first two models, and will be using that knowledge with the upcoming ones to hopefully help the cost of Medium sized models like the Badger.

Interesting Concept. I kinda like it, but I don't think I would get into the system.

Probably pick up a few here or there for painting though.

Prices aren't bad. ~$12 for a Termie sized and ~$5 for a smaller than human sized.

I am telling my Historical game players. They will be horrified.

One suggestion, one question:

Q:
Have you looked into resin? The price seems a bit hefty for me. I'm wondering if resin would be cheaper.

S:
Have someone else paint your sample minis. the ones shown here aren't bad for gaming with, but you want your samples to *pop*. You want people to see your models in the best possible light, when they're trying to decide whether or not they want to buy them

Just some thoughts.

I really like these minis, if there was a cool skirmish game in the vein of mouseguard I'd be really interested in playing it. As it is I can't get behind buying models just for show.

Perhaps not...

Flintloque is a game of Napoleonic era warfare as fought by elves, goblins, and so on.

I'm going to have to agree in that you should find a profesional painter, because as it is ya they are great tabletop models but to sell you want people to have something to show "damn thats what mine can look like". Your best bet to is find a demon winner or somone because a lot of these "studios" paint like junk. Remember you have to spend money to make money.

We have looked into Resin (and Plastic), wasn't cost effective. Some of the much larger future releases may end up being resin.

They aren't that bad on price. 5 models for $25 or 3 large models for $35? Seems about in line with mini pricing these days.

The large badger isn't THAT much more metal than a Zoanthrope, and those are $20 each.

Did you consider doing separate head bitz? These might be usable for Skaven players, same with models like the chipmunk weapon team, if they are not too obviously Napoleonic. Just an idea.

Saw the lancers Daniel did, solid job. I think with the badgers you should make them multiposable for the pack because I think they could really sell better that way. You got a solid product though so it should be interesting to see where you take it.

That's a badger, not a rat. It's actually a pretty accurate miniature representation of a badger's facial structure and bulk.

Y'know, if you crossed it with a human.

If anyone is able to make it to RECON (Cocoa Beach, FL) this weekend, they'll be able to check out not only the next few greens, but also get a first look at the concept artwork for The Vandalands (Germanic Rats!) and The Scyzantine Empire(Arabic Lizards!).

We'll also have the Mouse Conscript and Badger-At-Claw squad boxes up for grabs, and the latest playtest rulebook on hand.

Reminds me a bit of Vaugn Bode's artwork, remember "Cobalt 60" or the animated movie "Wizards"? If you could exploit that angle a bit, I could dig it. Would love to see the croc soldiers from Cobalt 60, or the red robot, Peace, from wizards. If you aren't familiar, you should check it out.

At the risk of coming across as a fanboi, I have been playtesting with Cyporien and OTL for the last year or so now on Brushfire - Historia Rodentia and have relished each game.

While I've only seen the masters, the models are wonderfully detailed. Their poses are a bit static, but not something that isn't easily solved with a bit of arm rotation. I'm looking forward to the Weasel Fusiliers and the Chipmunk Chaingun team.

What I think I love most about the game is the combination of anthropomorphistic animals, alternate-earth societies, and pop-culture references that OTL has managed to blend into a easy to love, read, and play game. After all, who wouldn't love berserking Germanic hamsters?

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
