So, I have been playing about with Elfdars for a bit, and have so far gotten this list.

The plan is to have Eldrad and the Seer start with the Dragons and Turn 1 Fortune all 3 Serpants and Flat Out across the board, then T2 get to where I need to be and light up the enemy armour, while keeping the DA's in reserves for objective games and pewpewing with the Scatterlazors from far off.

So, my main question to all you Eldar doods out there are:
What to spend the last 10 points on?
Should I drop a DA squad to give my Seer Guide and Stones and bolster with a few more bodies?
Any other suggestions?

I absolutely dislike 5 men DA units, 10 DA incl. Exarch with bladestorm can contribute to the game,
your DA units cannot.

A cave, deep in the Misty Mountains

I'd loose a unit of dragons. Two units are generally enough to take out a few tanks and worry the enemy.

I would definately upgrade the DA units to 10 man squads for as many of them as you can.

Spirit stones on Fire prisms are usless, as they allow you to keep moving, but not keep firing. Loose them and get 30 points back.

My personal preference would be to:

-Get some holo-fields, if they're shooting at your prisms and dragons all game, and the prisms don't go down, you will have a lot of enemy shooting on them.

-Drop a troops choice

-Get some more cannons on those serpents, guide won't be needed much. You could just through in a spear, instead of the guide, not the same, though it will help.

I've played this same list 100 times. It gets crushed sadly

Fortune is great, but when that 25% fail hits you go boom. The biggest issue with the list is kill power. The fire prisms do kill stuff dead, but the scatter gods are whimsical even when you TL and any smart opponent will realize all your killing power is in the prisms. If your prisms go down your left with 4 scatter lasers and 3 S Cannons to do all the killing. You'll find vs MEQ that won't do squat.

Usually the battle goes something like this:

All enemy AT goes after your prisms and either destroys them or keeps them shaken. Fire Dragons eat one vehicle per squad then die a glorious death. Serpents kill 1-2 guys here and there and die one at a time leaving you with nothing to fight back with. If it's a objectives match you can sometimes pull off a win or tie via full outs last minute but annihilation you don't stand a chance.


Moral of the story, I've found min/max grav tanking to be lackluster.

I am not a fan of RoWit personally.

Also... stones on fire prisms is a big meh to me. Only need them on transports IMO.

I run my mechdar lists pretty hybrid personally.

I am also a HUGE fan of 10 dire avengers with a doom/guide seer and bladestorm. One of the best anti infantry things in the whole game.

2x autarch is cheaper and more effective than Eldrad in a mech list like this.

Where is your anti tank? Fire prisms are anti Meq and horde, put missles and bright lances on the tanks.

And at that point you basically have my brothers list, which is 1850 but IIRC he is undefeated. You basically always get first turn.

Ah, I see what you mean. 2 Autarchs, reserve up, and no matter if you go first or 2nd you always get to go "first". I like it

No Eldrad is still useless in this sort of army. You only ever get out if the tank blows up.

On top of that then you are looking at a 3+ to come in turn two as opposed to 2+. Radically different and game changing.

Gwar- Yeah the only problem with the army is it is as boring as guard to play with. Very good though.

In any other army.

Its not that he isnt good. Hes the best caster by far for his points. He just doesnt get his full use in a completely mounted army.

Gwar - Oh yeah. You dont get out unless the tank pops or you want to use the dragons.

Put anti tank on the serpents and try again. 100x better

The thing is, my Scatter Lazors are my anti tank. Most transports are 11 or 10, and things like Preds are 11 on the side and the Lazors can deal with them. Anything tougher is what my Dragons are for.Do I really need to up to BL or EMLs?

Unless someone brings upwards of 5 land raiders, your dragons will be enough for the job.

Also, I couldn't agree more with avengers no getting out of transports...

Yes, bladestorming dire avengers with guide and doom can kill infantry... if the enemies aren't in power armor, and don't get a cover save. (10% of the time?)

Its because you dont actually want to use the dragons unless necessary, and to be honest most of the time I use them to kill termies and the like. The whole army skirts around 36-48 the whole game then takes objectives last turns. I cant count the number of games where I never saw his dragons on the table ever. You might say then why not just take all avengers, but really it is insurance.

I only take 2 bright lances or so, the rest missile.

You can use scatter all you like, I am just saying I use it and it has worked best for me. I just dont know what you are going to do to pop chimeras and whatnot.

I play a very hard guard army vs my brothers list all the time and the advantage of this army is that its hard to crack from range. Everything is annoyingly dropped to st 8. This army can do very well on a planet bowling ball (read tournament) style table because of it, which is a big advantage most armies dont have. It exploits everything about mech (hard to kill at range, plus you have to roll to hit then a 56 to pen then a 56 to kill with ANY anti tank gun) plus has the agility.

Also a 2500 pt version of this army got second (in standings, it never lost) at the ard boys finals, but it really flew under the radar because everyone assumed Eldar = got lucky, when really its that damn hard. It is the hardest Eldar list possible, not going to lie.

The only time i would use Eldrad in my eldar army is if i have
full squads of Dark Reapers or atleast 2 squadrons of war walkers.

I think the coolest autarchs are swooping hawk wings + fusion gun. They still give extra to reserve rolls. Even if they are not on the field.

Depends on who you play, all comers will prob fail as mass marine lists will kick you teeth in. Lots of rhinos or drop pods, with like 60+ marines is too tough for the list to kill off fast enough.

This is why you only jump them out if they can shoot something that they will kill, and there's nothing around them that can kill them.


Only one problem I see with your list. Where the hell are the brightlances?
