Hello There,
We`ve lots of new releases for you this newsletter, with some serious reinforcements on the way for both the Raven Guard Space Marines and the Orks! All of this is of course because our latest Imperial Armour book, Raid on Kastorel-Novem, has just hit the shelves, (so to speak). This tells the story of a surprise attack by the forces of the Imperium against a vital Ork world and the desperate battles that follow. You can see more about our new book Here.

Thanks
Alan Bligh

The Raven Guard
A notably grim and resolute Chapter of the 1st Founding of the Space Marines, the Raven Guard are masters of guerrilla tactics, surprise assaults, sowing terror and the execution of the brutal and overwhelming killing blow. Their black-clad Space Marines strike fear into the hearts of the enemies of humanity, while their war machines are adorned with symbols of death and inescapable fate.

Shadow Captain Korvydae

Shadow CaptainDesigned by Simon Egan, this is simply one of the most fantastically detailed 28mm models you will ever see, and if you don't believe me just look at the Gallery shots which you can find Here! A Space Marine Captain equipped with a jump pack and a Thunderhammer, Korydae is a fearsome opponent in combat, exemplifying his Chapter's mastery of hit and run tactics. Full rules for Shadow Captain Korvydae can be found in Imperial Armour Volume 8, Raid on Kastorel-Novem.
Shadow Captain Korvydae is available to pre-order Now from the Forge World Webstore for release the week commencing the 24th of May.

Raven Guard Upgrade Set

Raven Guard Upgrade Also available to pre-order is our Raven Guard upgrade set, designed by Simon Egan and Will Hayes. This set contains highly detailed Raven Guard Mark VI 'Corvus' pattern armour helmets, torsos, shoulder plates and backpacks for use in conjunction with the Games Workshop Space Marine plastic infantry kits. The set contains enough parts to make five marines in Mark VI armour in combination with plastics including a Veteran Sergeant, as well as five alternate pattern Sternguard bolters. You can see some gallery images of models made with these much anticipated upgrades Here.
The Raven Guard upgrade set is available to pre-order Now from the Forge World Webstore for release the week commencing the 24th of May.

The Orks!
Brutal alien killers who live only for war, the Orks are a savage scourge on the galaxy whose ceaseless battles with the Imperium have resulted in an endless struggle for mankind's survival in the grim darkness of the far future. The only thing more dangerous than the Orks themselves is the crude but deadly technology they wield, able to smash and rip apart their enemies with shot, shell, energy blast and hydraulic claw.

Ork Warkopta

WarcoptaDesigned by Phil Stutcinskas with crew by Mark Bedford, these intricate and more than slightly crazed flying machines are designed for one thing only; getting a mob of boyz into combat as fast as possible, with the added bonus of being able to shout insults at the footsloggers down below as they fly over their heads. The Warkopta is a full resin model and looks hugely Orkish as you can see Here, with twin chain-driven whirling blades, engines, rattler guns and lots of added detail, it even comes with a set of arms to enable you to model Games Workshop's plastic Orks clinging on for dear life!
Rules for the Ork Warkopta can be found in Imperial Armour Volume 8, Raid on Kastorel-Novem.

The Ork Warkopta is available for pre order Now from the Forge World Webstore for release the week commencing the 24th of May.

Much as I like the Raven Guard upgrade set... at £16 for 5 is going to work out rather expensive unless you only use it for Sternguard.

Impressed with the Raven Guard character, excellent sculpt.

As an ork player, and as I've already said, Ork Aesthetic = Junkyard Brutal, not flimsy ramshackle. I fething Hate that kopta.

Fraken Sweet! Now that looks like a Ork found a Raider and said, "What can I make out of this?"

Think it's Open Topped?

Raven Guard look awesome but would have really preferred more than 5 guys. I guess compared to the Red Scorpion kit you do get more stuff though with weapons and backpacks but still seems a little on the expensive side.

Of course I will still get them.

Any word on if there will be more Raven Guard stuff out?

The Kopter might well the the most fragile model FW has ever put out. I'll be amazed if those tiny resin parts can even take their own weight.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

On that same thought, the new battlewagon lifta-droppa looks way, way too big for the GWS battlewagon. After putting out $50 for the BW and I'm guessing at least an additional $60-70 for the lifta-droppa on, I'd expect to have a model that wasn't constantly falling over, getting chipped and broken.

Did you guys know Canada has a friggin desert?

Kopter looks pretty cool. if not for the fact that it costs 60 pounds (WHY IS FORGEWORLD SO GODDAMN OVERPRICED?!) i would definetly buy it. Imo tho the face of the ork pilot looks a bit ermm weird compared to the other orks; like comparing the old ork faces with the new ones.

What happened to the resin kommando bits that they showed with the kopta? Are those being sold separately?

Went digging through my old posts, and guess what? I've been hating on mat ward since before it was cool

There never were resin Kommando bits?

The only resin bits they showed were arms that make it appear as though the Orks are hanging on for dear life.

And they're included in the kit.

I really, really like that Korvy sculpt. Beautiful model.

The latest FW ork stuff seems hit-or-miss with me. I love the stompa upgrades, but the Krusha tanks are... meh... they don't blow up my skirt. And Big Mek Buzzgob is great, love the attitude (especially love the grot assistants he comes with) but the face completely ruins it. He needs a headswap badly. The Chinoork? Totally underwhelming. Just don't like it, it looks too much like some budget ork "conversion".

Truth. However lately it seems design teams disagree with us. Ah well, saves me some money!

Definitely, they are super awesome and I would buy them if I had money. Sadly it's probably cheaper to just go out and buy the actual RT backpacks. They probably wouldn't fit on today's Marines though!
