And here's the promised road bridge. Wide enough to cross pretty much all rivers on the market and big enough for a land raider for the princely sum of £6.

That's quite nice. Incredibly nice at that price really.

I'll be waiting for you to get around to some modular buildings before I order though. Shipping is probably going to be murderous.

Judging from the unpainted picture, they are holes.

Absolutely right. As soon as I get the first batch of canals painted up I'll take some nicer shots showing the canal water underneath.

Yes and no. It's £20 for the US and Cananda which is pretty steep. But I can send a big pile of stuff before it goes up so I've got it set as a flat rate.

Huh, yeah, not sure why that didn't strike me before.
I don't think any 28mm models would stay upright on that ramp. It sort of works for tanks but wheeled vehicles would just crash into it.

Yeah, they are much too steep to be realistic. However, this maximises the flat space available to put models both on the bridge and to either side of it.

A bridge with realistic ramps would either have been around three times as long with 2/3 of that space just angled enough that jump packers would keep falling over. As it stands, there is about 1" on each end of the bridge where you can't place a model and the rest is completely flat.

How many of you would prefer this with long ramps? It wouldn't be difficult to do at all.

You could always make 2 versions.. "steep ramp bridge" and "long ramp bridge"

Steep side like that can better delineate cover for a game like 40K.

This is a good combination of usability and "close enough" realism.

I certainly can. This is the upside to CNC production, the only cost of offering a design is my time to design it and the materials to make a sample to photograph, I don't have to pay for moulds, etc. If enough people want it then it'll appear.

That was exactly the idea - I hate terrain that makes your models fall over all the time.

I make my foam hills the same way with steep sides, to maximize the flat space on top of them.

I agree with Mattlov.

Absolutely, they're in five pieces and snap nicely together.

Great looking stuff, I'm not sure if I'll order, but I'll certainly mention you to the guys at my club. Also, have you considered using a single thread here on Dakka, instead of putting a new one up each time you get something new? Especially with the rate you seem to be getting new pieces out, I think it would be much easier to browse one big thread rather than lots of small ones, and I know at least some people out there agree with me.

I'd like the 'long ramp' version!

That, plus the river/canal stuff = awesome!

Nice, but I'm also throwing a vote in for a long ramp version if that's okay.

May I suggest to post your products in one thread and not a new thread every day (1st September, 2nd September, 3rd September) for each single product , especially when the third product is already seen in the second thread? Currently only Privateer products are presented that way (one thread for each single model).

This is not the bridge from the canal thread - it's an entirely new item.

I also vote for a long ramp.

But the one you are showing is quite nice.

This is probably a good idea.

See the MAXMINI thread for an example of this...

The short ramp is so much more practical. It's the same reason stepped hills work better than sloped hills. They may not look as awesome, but they play so much better.

I actually prefer a thread per item, that way you don't have to dig through a thread to find something. But, it does keep all the pics together in one place.

Probably best to keep one thread but keep editing the first post with new stuff. That way it's easy to find the pics and keeps all the discussion in one place?

I concur!

I hate having to dig through 27 pages of replies to find something :( 1 post per new release works for me I think it just seems like clutter since there's been a new product every day, if it were more spread out people wouldn't care as much

In November, Dark Eldar will get 6 plastic boxes, 2 metal boxes, 2 metal blisters, a specialty item and a Codex. Lets make 12 Dark Eldar threads then to test how easy and comfortable it is to browse the DE discussion of 12 shorter threads instead of one longer one. Wait, aren't there several miniatures in one metal box? Why not dedicate 20 or 30 threads on the Dark Eldar release, it must be so easy and convenient then to find exactly what you want in the news & rumour forum

I prefer the one item per thread approach as well, any thread getting above 3 pages for items is a pain to navigate

I do not concur.

I'd say make a thread in general and update the first post and title with new items as they come out.

This is cool - I'd also like longer ramps though.

I... have to say. I really don't like this one.

The road system is simple and elegant, the canals look great but this... it's far, far, far too small.

This is Pegasus Hobbies' Techno-Bridge:

See how long and wide it is? And that's from one kit. The kit is modular and you can make one nearly twice as longa s that.

And look:

The Land Raider looks like it would have a hard time on your bridge and yet that's a Baneblade on the Pegasus one.

The style of your bridge is fine, it's just tiny.

It fits the road system he's making.
Also, you're complaining that it isn't like a product that's already available?

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

Which, as people have said, is also a little on the thin side.

And no, I'm saying it's too small and comparing it to a similar product of virtually the same style that manages to pull off what Scott-S6 is attempting. It's not a complaint, it's a critique. I'm using examples to explain a point of view; far better than the usual trollish unsupported "I don't like it!" crap we get around here.
