For all you fans of Warzone/Mutant Chronicles, Prince August (the company that handles them) they are having a halloween sale for their "games, expansions, books, and the famously popular bag of 80 plastic Bauhaus and Imperial troops by over 50%."

http://theminiaturespage.com/news/958953/
http://www.princeaugust.ie/target_games/index_warzone.html

I think in US thats around $18 for 80 guys if you include shipping and the tax break.

Edit: Probably should have shown the pics of the soldiers

Iv seen some great models for Chaos with Warzone/Mutant Chronicles. The website is pretty bad though. Hard to find the pictures of mini's.

I'd like to order another bag of the plastics, but the minimum order is 20 Euro. Would anyone else in the U.S.- particularly anyone in Washington state around Seattle- like to go in on an order? Two bags of the figs makes a very cheap IG infantry force.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

The models come with 20mm bases. Maybe a wee bit smaller

Well these are damn cool for the price. I think I'll get some. That shipping is pretty rough though.

Shipping kicks my ass. And you have to spend minimum €20 BEFORE postage. I'll take 2 bags and a few blisters perhaps.

I have a lot of the warzone stuff from way back when.. Theyre same size as GW models. Like GW they are 'heroic' scale.. sometimes even more so

Oh dang you do need to have 20 euros worth of stuff before shipping. If I just wanted the soldiers I would have to buy 5 of them, get the tax break, then add in US shipping. Comes out a little less than $50. But then I would have 200 of each soldier type

I had been amazed by there prices on a previous sale, but was put off by the 20 euro minimum. I would have to buy 5 bags of 80 troops, and the metal miniature are generallly very ugly. I still have 3 days to see if I can find 20 euros of stuff I want from them...

yay, I was thinking about posibley buying the starter set and one of the 80 man units, but I think that is a few cents short, so I may add in one of the expansions if any have models that interest me, possibly the one with the blood berets and chaos dudes...

There's even their small skirmish/space hulk game that could be worth a whirl, blood berets or something, and the scale it pretty much on par with IG Cadians

One qustion thou, the Blood Berets game mentions it comes with 16 plastic Blood Berets, but not how many of the chaosish dudes it comes with. I would tink a lot more, since they seem to be the horde type, but I would loike to know the numbers. Anyone know?

Edit:
but the game does look awsome, I wanted space hulk, but did not want to blow $100 on it when I was just starting 40k, and now it is madley expensive. It is cool to get a game like it for about $15

According to boardgamegeek: Six Blood Berets were included (1 Sgt., 1 Medic, and 4 Grunts), 10 Undead Legionnaires, and 2 Nepharites (bad guy leaders).

They look obviously very corny, not unlike old GW stuff

Oh, I gues it ment 16 total, the way it was worded made it sound like 16 berets plus undead chaos guys. The miniatures are very ugly, probobly will replace the 6 berets with 6 from the 160 guards I will be getting from them..

Oh man I didn't know anyone still sold this stuff, I LOVED Chronopia when it first came out, too bad it crapped the bed fairly quickly.

I thought the Warzone/Chronopia system played far better than 40k did at the time. It wasn't huge on balance, but it was a lot more fun to play

As a former Target employee, I'm very happy to see interest in the old games. I have yet to play any TT games that compare to Warzone V.2 and Chronopia do. Its too bad Target went out of business when it was just starting to peak.

Wow.. these newer models suck.

I remember the old ones from like 15 or so years ago, from when it was Heartbreaker Hobbies (I think) .. they had some great minis

I bought a single bag of these on eBay for my Skitarii force. The helmets look pretty cool, but the head is also the one part of these miniatures that is really obviously not GW scale. If you want them to match better (as I did) you may want to do some headswaps. I bought some of those Pig Iron heads with gasmasks, and it made them into a quite nice Halghast-esque army, and everything looks more or less to scale with Cadians, Catachans, etc.

Bear in mind that I'm a very casual player, and any advice I give will reflect that tendency.

Which ones do you think are new? The guys in the "bag of troops" are about 10 years old, and were disappointingly blobby and brittle even then (although this price is still great even for that quality). The Blood Beret models are a Space Crusade equivalent that came out about 17 years ago.

Heartbreaker did some ok minis...but the concept was usually better than the final product which often had huge heads and gigantic gloves. They were well beyond GW cartoony even for the mid/late 90s. They started doing some much nicer metals for Warzone that scaled better with the plastics but then Warzone was done within about a year of that happening.

Oh.. I was talking about the blood berets.. I thought they were the newer ones

I always liked the mutant chronicles fluff and even found the movie to be decent enough. It would make for a really great minis game if they did it right.

Probably work

I still have some old Lutherans with pistols. These ones are pretty cheesy in comparison. I went from being incredibly excited to now much less so, but I'll still probably grab a bag.

If they wanted to do something impressive, they'd dig up the ancient Mutant Chronicles Board game from the 90s and start selling that. I loved that game.

They...did do that. The one your probably played actually came out a little bit after the Blood Beret game they are selling....'93-94ish.
Which ones do you think are cheesy? The Warzone boxed set plastics are actually pretty nice, they just suffered from cheap plastic and casting.

Ah, sorry, the particular game I was referring to was Siege of the Citadel. I didn't think they'd re-released that one. I'm not sure when exactly it was put out, but it was a pretty classic game. The models I was referring to as cheesy were the Blood Beret ones from the pictures kenshin posted. The warzone pictures in the OP are actually not too shabby looking.

I have a bunch of those plastic bag guys. If you're not afraid to work with somewhat brittle plastic they're quite okay for the price.

Damn, I still hope someone will pick up the game and releases some decent Imperials and Cybertronic stuff...
