I know it hasen't been around that long but I want to know any complete blunders you have made either with tactics or plain bad dice rolling. If you think it is a fail then post it! All comments are welcome.

This isn't a fail on my part but on my opponents. He charges my 20 zombies with Scyla anfingrimm. He kills six. I take a wound from him. He kills seven. I do nothing. Next trun he kills six more. However my last zombie holds out for two turns but is finally killed. Yes he destroyed the unit but i held him up for 5 turns!

Its called sarcasm. Really what does it taste like?

First game of 8th. I roll double ones for my magic phase. My lvl 4 Supreme Sorceress miscasts on her first spell throwing both dice, blows herself up and takes half the unit of blackguard in front of her with them.

Another nugget from the early games:

20 tizz warriors ford a mysterious river turn 1, and discover it's boiling. 10 die in the crossing.

20 more tizz warriors ford the same river (it stretched across my zone). 15 die.

I ask if we can please reset and the other dude agrees Shortly thereafter I stopped playing with mysterious terrain of any type

Here is another one. My vamp lord casts purple sun, miscasts and blows up. Kills a few skellies aswell . Next turn the purple sun scatters backwards onto my skeletons. One lives and dies from crumble test next turn.

Gnoblars pass Terror and Stand and Shoot.

24 shots.

5 hit and 3 wound.

2 failed Scaly Skin

1 Failed Regen.

50 pts of kill that deadly monster. I still came out ahead because SlaveGiants are cheaper then hydras

Just recently, i had a unit of CoK's who failed their stupidity test and got charged by a hoard of ghouls. they were killed down to a man, who broke and ran off the table. the resulting panic checks sent my hydra running off the board and my witches an inch away from the edge... it was all pretty much down hill from there.

Here is another brilliant moment of mine.

VC player summons a Spirit Host. I ignore it and declare a charge (into his grave guard's flank). I fail the charge by an inch. Spirit host charges my hydra does no wounds and wins combat by 1, chases my hydra off the board the next 2 turns.

Chaos giant charges my hammerers who fight him while the rest of the army advances. Giant is slain, keels over backwards, clipping my "unkillable" lord on shieldbearers, who fails look out sir, is wounded, fails armor save, fails re-roll, takes a full 3 wounds and dies.

I fail a Ld9 test (with re-roll) to prevent my chaos knights from charging a lone goblin shaman in the woods (who get their via Maads Map).

I'm forced to charge, and lose 4 knights to the difficult ground on the way in, kill the shaman, and loose both remaining knights on the forced overrun.

The knights getting wiped, panics a block of 30 marauders of tzeench, with my general in it.

Stupid 75 shaman.

Watched a dude charge some dragon princes with a unit of 3 flamers.

Also, a guy takes 3 warpfire throwers in his skaven list. Fires the first one: misfire, splode. Fires the second one: misfire, run into the third one on the scatter, splode them both. A unit of clanrats panic and run through some gutter runners, who also panic. Lulz ensue.

In a recent Battle for the Pass game, a unit of my crossbows got charged from behind and were slaughtered. The two survivors took off running towards the opposite end of the board. For the rest of the game (like three turns), they failed every rally check (double 1's afterall) and slowly made their way across the board. Not really an epic fail, but it was sad to see them go running like that. They almost made it off the board too, but fell like eight inches short by the time the game was over.

I've got two. First one wasn't me, but my opponent. He was facing my Vampire Counts with his Beastmen. His giant charges a unit of skeletons, decides to jump up and down but gets so excited he falls over.... right onto his unit of 10 Bestigors with his general AND BSB, killing all on them. The skeletons then procede to kill the giant while it's on the ground. We both had a good laugh after that one.

My fail was by my Old-Blood. He was tricked out with magic items in order to get 10 attacks at WS6 due to Frenzy. I charge a unit of Ungors, needing 3's to hit and 2's to wound. 3 rounds of combat, Old-Blood does zero wounds and is finally killed by Ungors.

Sounds like you need the Banner of Disipline on your BSB.

stick your tyrant in the unit with the BSB.

Voila, Ld10 Tyrant with a Reroll.

Yes, the Unit can't use his Inspiring Presense, BUT it can use his Ld because it's the highest in the unit.

it also doesn't prevent other units(without the BSB in it) to use the Generals Ld.

I haven't checked recently, but I'm pretty sure the purple sun should have went away when the caster died, unless when you meant blows up meant he didn't completely die...

Also, Templar, how many points is a slave giant? I thought they were 175?

Not sure it really counts as a fail, but my first game with Grimgor in 8th (was checking to see if I could make him and his bodyguard work) was against WoC. Him and his unit charge a giant, and from all their attacks, fail to kill it which meant I didn't get the awesome overrun into his knights, who charged on his turn and between them and the giant wiped the unit except grimgor, who failed his break test and ungloriously run down.

Well this wasn't my fail but my opponents....

My Averland born Empire force, along with their dwarf allies watched in horror as at the very onset of the battle a massive daemon prince of Tzeentch flew to the top of the crumbling tower and took up its perch as a line of chaos knights assembled at the base. The very air began to churn with raw magical energy, building stronger and stronger as a glowing purple orb materialized in front of the prince. All around men and dwarfs looked on helplessly as their doom was conjured. They were too packed together, this was going to be bad. Then with a brilliant flash and the smell of ozone the monster was gone along with the knights closest to the tower.

Miscasting on the first roll of the game and taking out a level 4 daemon prince along with some knights...fail.
