Pretty much stock termies, just clipped and trimmed the bases and glued them to 40mm's with some assorted Cities of Death bits. The CAT has had its antenna extended to match the pic on the rulebook with a piece of paperclip wire. Oddly the diameter seems to exactly match the existing plastic rod. Looks good, think I'll do that on my own too.

These bases are going to be finished in a jungle / 'Lost' theme - the bits are there to help fit some of the Space Hulk bases in, notably the steps on the librarian and the marine ripping up floor. The impression I want is that there's something old and forgotten buried in the jungle, so lots of creepers and ground vines, and almost no grass to be used... should be interesting.

So, the pics:

Pushing these on, the zenithal work is now done. If this seems slow it's because I've also brought my own set up to the same state... ;-) And because Vallejo Flat Red hates my airbrush. Back to GW Blood Red for me, I think.

These are going to be great. Just one thing, are the helmets going to be red or gold?
Please say red. I've never been a fan of golden terminator helmets.

Red, the client has requested I emulate the studio scheme as far as possible within certain budget constraints (hence the zenithal work). Except for the jungle bases. And some OSL.

Well, after the Christmas / New Year break I'm rolling again. Didn't quite get this guy finished today - about 2 hours to go on him I think, mostly gems and smoothing out some of the blends. OSL heavy, as per the client's specification. You'll notice the highlight and shade glazes have bumped the saturation on the mini. Quite pleased with how this is going. Around 7 hours work on top of the zenithal work as shown previously.

Nice work indeed! The OSL looks great, can't wait to see your take on the dude with lightning claws as I just finished him and the glow effect on him was a bit patchy in areas but I imagine that you will do a fantastic job on him! It is funny to still see these termies going round even though they have been oop for what seems like years!

@Lucifer- Ahem, but I think you will find that gold helmets are the best (seeing as I have painted all mine with gold !

Yours look nmm gold. I think they are ok. I meant metallic paint gold = bad color for termie helms

First one done. Not too sure about the brass-etch foliage - it's a bit... crap. Looks better in the flesh, but may end up removing it.

I like the final result, but I can understand what you're saying about the foliage. The more you look at the picture, the more artificial the plants look. They don't seem to sit on the base...

Still a pretty mind blowing mini.

Dude I love those plants. They look BA to me, but then again I'm not holding the thing.

I think the plants might look a little more natural if you bent them/the leaves slightly with tweezers.

These look awesome! I'm planning to paint mine up fairly soon, but they're not going to be nearly as good as these.

The client didn't like the brass etch either, so I've removed it and put some reindeer moss on there. Probably going to tweak some more- I have some different foliage I can try - the fern leaves are OK I think... can also try scribing and kinking the leaves to give it some more life...
I've also added a tiny bit of weathering / chipping as per the client's request:

VERY nice! 6 thumbs up to the glow effect and the foliage is neat.

... although I did get some positive comments about the purple flowers. I do think they were a bit too tall, so they're back, shorter. Heh. I tweak a lot, but this is sort of the template for the rest. If the client likes it, the rest will be done more or less identically.

That long bit of 'cloth' that you painting along the leg is a wire I believe. I'm not sure though.

I'm not sure either. It blends into the loincloth at the top (widening as it does) so it doesn't look like a wire up there...

Great work on the basing! The flowers look much better in smaller clumps.

I got a little confused with the 'wires' there are a few bits like that on the space hulk models. I tend to just ignore them as they do not seem to make any sense on the model.

Is the trim on the base going to stay black? A brown colour would seem to make more sense to me. I suppose it has to blend into the rest of your client's models also.

Oh yeah, I see it. Looks very much easier to carry off as cloth though. Only goes to the knee.

Which termie are you doing next?

Also, for that wierd piece on the painted guy, it is a wire, that the cloth covers the top of it.

Still some tweaks to do on this one. I'll bite and paint this bit as a wire (yellow and black stripes) and I've got some tweaks to do on the chipping.
