Incoming: Grey Knights

As the Emperor prepared for his final confrontation with the traitor Horus, he granted one final gift to Mankind, a safeguard and protection against the horrors of the Warp - the Grey Knights. A brotherhood of warriors as elite as they are secretive, the Grey Knights are a shining line of silvered steel that stands between humanity and the Daemons of Chaos.

Trained as the mightiest paragons of mental fortitude and martial discipline in the Imperium, the Grey Knights maintain a vigilant watch for daemonic incursion, responding wrathfully against the scions of the Dark Gods, and those who dally with them.

Clad in baroque Terminator armour and wielding powerful weapons such as storm bolters and Nemesis force weapons, the Grey Knights tear through the enemy, unleashing an onslaught of psychic powers and sorcery to sunder the foe.

The Grey Knights are an unstoppable force, the manifestation of the Emperor's will, valiant warriors who willingly sacrifice their own humanity so that Mankind itself can endure.

This April Games Workshop releases Codex: Grey Knights, alongside a comprehensive range of fantastically detailed Citadel miniatures. Although details are being kept firmly under wraps for now, you can expect an exciting selection of plastic kits to enable you to build your own Grey Knights army.

Too little, too late. With the Anima Tactics team that I just ordered yesterday and the Raging Heroes Manticore that I'll be working on soon after, I won't have the time to get too excited about the new Grey Knights codex and models. I might end up buying the codex and one or two characters to augment what I already have, but other then that, GW have pretty much lost me on this one.

It's a shame too, if they were to reveal something even a week earlier, they would have had me all in for the new release too.

Oh I really hope that they aren't shooting for an April 1st release.

Awesome, I'll never play them but its cool to have some confirmation At least knowing they are set for April gives us a better idea of when the other releases might come

Anyway, this announcement is pretty bland and doesn't do anything to generate any interest in me. Hang on, no wait, not at all.

You know what would've been a really cool announcement - showing off some preview miniatures. But then GW would have to be a miniatures company before they could do that.

What annoys me...(and i'm sure many many others) is these 'non-news' articles/emails......

their are already strong rumours, from fairly reliable guys on forums (which i'm sure GW know...) saying they will be out in March/April (think most recent ones i read said April...). So GW decided to send out on message, saying they will be coming out in 2 1/2 months time, with no preview...One pic of any new model would be nice, but no. So then we have to wait 1 1/2 months before we even see the models, then another month before we can buy......... Fail GW I'm sure many people could run that company better

They need to bring back those previews they had back in the day. Where they would just show you a picture of the new model(s) and a description to go with it, like this classic:

Not to hop on the bandwagon, but seriously GW? Not to compare, but look what PP just did for Wrath? Not that the Khador thing isn't just damned silly-looking, but at least we saw something! Would it have really diminished the release had they thrown a teaser model into this? Seriously.

I'm a touch excited.

Some sandy PLEASE EXPRESS YOURSELF IN A MANNER SUITABLE FOR POLITE COMPANY in here already...seriously people get a grip. For months people have been crying for some firm information about GK, now that there is something its not enough for you.

Folks should be happy about 2 things:

1) a date has finally been announced.

2) its not at the end of the year as many were starting to fear.

Its not LANGUAGE, PEOPLE, just a lot of other companies lead off with at least a preview to entice us as players. Why GW doesn't befuddles myself and others. It isn't that I am not happy that we have a definite date, because now I can wait and see what April brings to the table before I commit to another 40K project. So, happy, just disappointed.

Poor creative staff who has to live under that restrictive regime!

My sources are saying GK may be much later this year. Sources say that because the DE release was so successful, that's why we are seeing a shuffling to get more DE models out sooner. More a financial decision than production from what I'm hearing. Hope it's not true.

So that's the only pretty picture in the "Incoming!" article? (My comp won't load up the page for some stupid reason)

I am disappoint. Especially since I have to wait through two of my least favorite months of the year.

I mean, official confirmation is nice... but...

This is almost as bland as one of their "We have a secret announcement! Stay tuned to hear what it is!"

Are you kidding? I don't owe GW anything. As a company, it's their job to impress me. And with this announcement, they havn't even come close.

I will not allow myself to be satisfied with mediocrity. As a consumer, I deserve better, or GW simply doesn't deserve my money.

Don't care if we don't have any preview.
Don't care if GW has poor marketing strategies.
Don't care if we have to wait 2 1/2 months.

The Grey Knights are finally on their way!

Its good to get some confirmation on the release. As to those who think they would spill everything in one article, the opposite would happen if they had.... people would be whining as every week passes between now and April that they are not getting more information. Now GW can trickle out information until release keeping people spun up.

My main concern -as a Dark Eldar player - is, does this mean pushing back my Venom kit? NOOOOO!!!!

Not sure about the venom kit in particular, but my guess is that the new wave next month is why it is in April.

Pleased to hear the GK are finally confirmed, this news is going to keep me checking the GW site for more updates. So from that point of view the marketing has worked a treat.

I said i will avoid a SM army if i can, however GK has changed all that and my project for 2012 will be these i'm sure.
