A company is planning on a range of SF hard plastic figures - and they're looking for feedback. The game is set about 300 years from now and features future armies from the nations of Earth (and aliens) - but many of them will also make great 40K proxies for non-tournament play. https://qtrial.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_2gz3cbtwpATuVzS

Amazon and French Foreign Legion armies? Interesting.

Gotta love the 1$-1.50 price range per model they're looking at too.

Done, though I must say my least preferred thing there were the Amazons.

Including one miniature from another army as an offer in every box you get would be great.

Probably work

Interesting Poll. Careful with that whole, "40k army list" thing. Hate to see you have someone in a cheap suit come up to you and say, "Diza nice company you got. Shame if anythin' were ta happen to it."

What the heck is that "40k army list" thing?

Though, I wouldn't worry as long as they have the funds, the will to fight, and half a brain. (Though I'll not expand on why, to avoid creating any problems for the Dakka management).

Thanks all for your taking the survey! Not all questions will lead to actual events/products, but I can assure you that many planned parts of this line can PROXY for 40K.

I figure that now that others have found out, and thus the cat is out of the bag, you might be interested, and certainly Tyranid lovers might like this - http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=222696 Note, I am known as CelticPagan there on TMP (Name was already taken here).

Please bear in mind that the render they are discussing is a first render, and more input is being weighed. Its size, also, while scaled for Heroic 28mm 1/56th scale, has yet to be determined - that is, is it smaller than man sized, human-sized, or larger than humans.

More to come as I can release it.

JJD

P. S. The Amazons were my least favorite on the survey too ;-) However, I think you can rest assured that there will be no division between the sexes, at least as armies go.

However, I already have the cash in my PayPal account from cancelling Wargames Factory orders, so i will be getting me quite a few, even if I do have to pay LOL

Only a first render of a "Space Bug" Requia. Work on is ongoing as not everyone is in favor of the head. Most likely the thorax and legs are final, but the head may or may not be changed.

More renders are expected, but I have no timeline on those. The USMC - Space Division, will likely be next up. there is a render of a weapon based upon one in the field right now seeing action in Afghanistan, with a few tweaks to account for 300 years into the future.

Hang tight as now that the public is aware of Defiance Games, more renders will likely be made public, as will the plans for the entire line. It will be fully supported from the get-go, but the hows and wheres aren't for me to discuss, but I think everyone from casual gamer to hardcore, and newbie to expert will be pleased by what they see is going to be offered.

I will totally take a space bug render if they're showing them to the public, those are more fun to paint than soldiers anyway ^^

This is just the ex-Wargames Factory guys trying to start again.

Given the previous track record, both in terms of customer service and quality of figures, I will pass on it thanks.

Wish them luck, but not for me unless they seriously raise the quality bar.

Big P - none of the issues started until George Sivy, Mr Wai's US Representative took over WGF in August 2010, so any beef you have with WGF is with him. Tony was stripped of all power back then, but as a minority owner, was kept on as the public face. Please try and give them a fair shake. They had no control over their own company due to the need for an influx of cash. Was it a wise decision? No, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Give Defiance Games a chance to show you what they can do before passing judgement on them, please.

@Requia - So I take it you like the first render of the Alien Bug? There is an ongoing discussion regarding the head, so if you want to add any thoughts, and this goes for anyone else too, I will gladly pass them along.

And the customer service was poor because there was a company take over, I own many WGF models and i think they are great. P, you don't know what you are talking about!

Everyone might as well come take a look as Tony has started inviting people to do so - http://www.defiancegames.com/

Be sure to sign up for the forums so you can leave your impressions - this and all Defiance Games projects is and will always be about what the wargamers want to see. Some renders are up, and more to follow. Also note the upper right hand part of the page - there's a surprise there

That's a pretty neat idea of a bug. Think this might be something really cool, and the idea of how close you are on making the customers happy shows great promise. Oh, and the price ranges, you gotta love it all.

Great work all around.

Thanks guys - we're working on the head. There's been a lot of feedback that people like the head but feel it doesn't work well with the body.

I personally like it but am thinking we can save it for a more humanoid alien species down the road.

Please visit the site and let us know what you think!

Thanks,
Tony

The selling of peoples pre-ordered (and pre-paid) figures at a convention was before then I believe? But hey, dont bother me as none of the figures they made were worth buying in my view. But thats just my opinion.

But those who love Tony seem to stand by him whatever, where as other people seem to have a different view. As an uninterested observer, noting is ever as clean cut as the WGF fanboys like to portray it. I have seen several people complain of the treatment and customer service from long before August be shouted down by his fans. As I say, not bothered either way, wouldnt buy from the new WGF either as they seem like a very odd bunch.

I have no need to give them a chance. They dont make anything yet. Their previous efforts did not appeal to me as what I want for my figures i believe they need to do alot better to compare to the standerds of GW, Perry, Victrix and Gripping Beast plastics.

Still I wish Tony well, as any manufacturer in these times and hope he makes something to start a decent business going.
