Gretings:
I confess: Im a War Nerd, also a WH40k gamer since 3rd edition also a lurker of some time of dakka as also of warseer, so, i thouth proper to introduce myself with my works.
First of all, some background:
Later imperial campaings had been extensively documented, as feats of courage and will against the heretic, the mutant and the secessionist, and as such, we recomend to the reader the deep and rich studies made by Leonid Biota and the remembrarces of such campaigns.
But, shadowed by the sheer magnitud of the Sabbat campaings, the not so minor endevour of preserving order of his most divine magesty Imperium et Potestas in the Germanica System teaches us how planetary lewd ambitions can lead the to the vile act of cavortig whit the ruinos powers.
This, is a documented memory of the untis involved in the pacification of a sector named the Fulda Gap by the imperium in the germanica campaing.
In game terms; this is the buildig and the painting of my I.G. (army I had been playing since the appearence of the previos I.G. codex)
The plan is to make a "core" 2000 points army and 11!!! variations based on this "core" (the idea is to make varaiety and challenge -by playing a random list- as to model and convert)
Experience will tell how do the alternatives will shape.
Untill Then....
Automatically Appended Next Post:
As stated, The challenge, is to build a 2005 points I.G. as a “core army” and another 11 (!!!) variations of the above (circa 500 points) not just as a Modeling and painting challenge but, as a game enhancer (roll 2D6 and play that list)
Bitz used and providers would be stated in case per case basis.

Some answers
During my years playing 40k I allway felt a "mising element" playing guard: the gaunt Novels were good motivation and full on other really interesting regiments.
The guard Codicii were also inspiring but, besides cadians, and cadians and CADIANS resembling 80s era NATO troops I was unable to find a theme for me and then; this happenend to me...
That came from here Evil Inspiring People
And so I found the theme, the motive and the motivation to do an army that really fulfilled my thoughts, my feelings and my dreams....
The worst was just to begin: warseer (home forum) is Full of superb modelers and painters and I, still consider my skills as Lewd, so as a sensible and rational human being, I asked for help Sensible and Rational Help I provided them whit my ideas and we came to this:

Exactly 126 chaps plus the "newest" batch I found on a box on the closet (circa 60+) Im thinking in making a rifle company they would be: 3 squads (30) a commisar and their command squad, just Cadian and space marines and a "long rifle" somehing maybe resembling the SKS or the Mosint-Nagant.
For the other bodies, im planning to do veterans, VDV (air cavalry) and your suggestions ( a cavalry horde is being considered too!!! - I just found sigmarite units i did not know i had)
Also Gents: Does anybody knows a good source of supplies??? in order to achive great looking bases??? pouches, webbing??? -thanks in advance-
a motivational photo for all you I.G. players.

An armour Update. The first transport is done!!!
Bitz Used
Games Workshop Imperial Guard Chimera.
Old Crow Models 25mm accesories
Plasticard and lost of rivets.
Now, the fun starts; we need for our core force 4 more of these little babies; a second batch of 3 for a full mech core list and 6 for a mech-vet list so, as Obyekt-1 is done and under construction a BMP-3 conversion is considered for the vets.
Untill then.

Most interesting! Let me guess, the Chimera is at least a bit inspired by World War II German Entwicklung series tanks? It definitely reminds me of E-10 the way its armor is shaped.

As we can see, line infantry wears a drab uniform, special forces (inquisitorial stromtroopers) wear amoeba patter cammo usin the basic colors and the adition of charadon granite "points" as well as grey "zones" the I.G. Stormtroopers wear flora pattern (dots of bubonic brown added) wich is an upgrade of amoeba

Second update: we have bases!!!
well yes, they had bases, but, they were not painted.
bases are painted with wargames foundry 3 tone system colour sand first; a devland mud wash is aplied (1:1 mix) after dry, a light drybrush wiht bleached bone is aplied; the rim of the bases uses graveyard earth (calthan brown base, two coats of graveyard earth) finally; using a glue gun we add the grass.

Ah yes, now, when I see the shape of the bow clearly, I can obviously see the similarities. The original is pretty popular in Poland, enough to warrant a few interesting conversions, such as an automated mine laying vehicle and a gun/missile air defense system. And the Gvozdika would be pretty good as a Basilisk.

@ InquisitorRoeath: Welcome to my humble work and thanks for your support.
@ Flinty: In due time my friend, in due time im still unsatisffied with the sponsons besides I cant make my mind about what do I want as a turret.
@ Young Logan: Thanks for your support, its just practie, practice and practice.
@ Imperial Monkey: Yes sir!!! and thanks to the wargames foundry paint system for solving my isues with painting.
@ Perkustin: So you ask, so it shall be delivered:
So, with the afore-mentioned (spelling?) request satisffied, lets continued with our order of work.
First, the Autocannons of B Platoon; this are the firts attempts to reproduce Le Mediko great work; IMHO I did terribly FAILED creating a diferent gun shield; also, I think I need smaller Rivets.
Due to limitations on pictures, lets continue shall we...
The Chimmeras and the hellhounds had been primered so, pre shading of the units is in progress
First CCS Chimmera.
I had in hand some tamiya Olive Drab (XF-74) (a nicely dark one) so, I started the process.
Finally, a Group Photo.
Automatically Appended Next Post: " The buckler, wich gives an imperial motor rifle division its offensive capabilities, its the divisional antitank battalion; of interest in our study its a design coded rapira..."
Times of steel, an analisys of the fulda incident
These is the AT fire of my army (lascannons) being attached to platon A they are not mechanized (yet) visually I always wanted something more "sturdy" and on theme for my guard
Inspiration (later models of rapira inclued a IR search ligth and a radar)
Bitz Used
Old Crow Models 50mm Gun Barrels
Maxmini Gatling plataform
Games Workshop sentinel search light
Wargames foundry paints
More infantry to come
Until then Automatically Appended Next Post: Ah, yes, mere infantry- poor beggars...
Plavtvs
First of all, a group photo: not only to share whit you the progress, but also to recon the size of my guard. (I believed I was making a frail and small force)
Missing in the picture are: 4 Hydras (W.I.P.) and a MBT (W.I.P.)
From lower left to right:
--------------------
CCS 1 3 meltas and chimmera.
CCS 2 3 grenade launchers.
Platoon A command 3 flammers.
Platoon B command 3 grenade launchers and chimmera.
Second row from left to right:
--------------------
SWS platoon A 3 flammers.
Platoon A 2 squads grenade launchers, mortars.
Ratlings (10)
platoon B squad grenade luncher, autocanon W.I.P. chimmera.
Third row from left to right:
--------------------
2 Inquisitorial Storm trooper units (5) (codex witch hunters) 2 plasmas each.
Platoon A HWS lascanons.
Platoon A HWS mortars.
Platoon B squd grenade launcher, autocannon (W.I.P.) chimmera.
Fourth Row from left to right:
--------------------
10 Codex IG storm troopers 2 plasmas (non "core" unit).
Two hellhounds.
Platoon B squad grenade launcher, autocannon (W.I.P.) chimmera. Automatically Appended Next Post: CCS 2 3 grenade launchers, previously, 2 grenade launchers and a mortar.
The first CCS fullfill a Short AT role and thus it rides along the chimera wall of B platoon, on the other hand, CCS 2 is intended to provide HWS of A platoon (our defensive element) of orders as: Bring it dow and Fire on my mark
In a general train of thoughts they dont need to be even armed, maybe camocloacks or a chimmera suits the better but, to have some BS4 plastic dudes is too tempting, so a cheap and "general" weapon was added.
And so, we enter to A platoon the defensive core of our list
Elements:
Platoon comand squad
--------------------
Bitz Used:
Games Workshop Cadian legs.
Games Workshop Cadian Arms.
Pig Iron Kolony Militia heads.
Hassleefree Bokhin SMG
Hassleefree V.E.R.A guns (canister is a GW melta bomb) 8count as flammers)
Automatically Appended Next Post: Following our infantry update, photos of Platoon A
Squads 1 and 2
--------------------
Their function is to: Sit on the objetive, screen the fire support elements and diffuse the presence of the snipers; considering the needs of this two units, plasma weapons on B4 units were recognised as fundamental in its survivability.
and so the =I= units were inducted (ministry of the interior elements if you ask me)
SWS
--------------------
flammers
this time the canister is a tau fussion gun canister.
paired with te PCS this six flammers duty is: crowd control and countercharge
function bolstered with the 3 grenade launchers of CCS 2
Automatically Appended Next Post: As you have noticed, infantry is modeled in the guise of a soviet motor rifle division so, every 10 man unit must have.
A sargent.
2 soldiers with undersuld grenade launchers ( WIP)
A marksman (decorative)
An RPG (heavy weapon)
2 machineguns (special weapon)
--------------------
Last elements of the A platoon
HWS Rapiras and mortars
--------------------
I think both elements are pretty elocuent by themselves but if a reasoning of their pressence is needed we can elaborate it.
Mortars are a personal cliche, some time ago I murdered a chaplain and his termie (6!!!) retinue with shrapnel, and since then i cant leave home without them.
As soon as all bases are painted and flocked I will post a final picture.
until then
