Hey all,

I am a new player and I have a number of Ork figures and the Ork codex but I was wondering if there was an Army of all females I can create. I saw the Sisters of Battle online but have never seen them in my local store or their codex. Is this a defunct Army and can you create an all female team of players and still be "combat effective" or do I have to buy space marines too?

Thanks!
Silver

Nope, SoB are an almost entirely female exlusive army. In fact, that's what makes them so popular. You can buy male Inquisitors and such if you wish, but the majority of models not only can, but have to be female.

Have fun!

Well guard have a few different ones, I use two in my army. One of these is a converted mordheim figure though.

I also know of a person who has an all female Guard army; even the ogryns are female.

People are forgetting to tell you that the sisters of battle are in the witch hunters army. I believe you can make a witch hunter army using only sisters of battle.

Thanks every one! I am going to look into finding some Sisters of Battle. I really want an entirely female Army and after perusing the site it looks like a New Codex and new minis are rumored to be coming out. I am super excited about this!!! Thanks all! Now all I need to do is find people to play with. hahaha

Sisters of battle, eldar and dark eldar can pull off a completely female model army.

Beyond that, some conversion and/or non GW models and you can have a guard force as the same.

Bush? No, Eldar Ranger

It's difficult with Eldar, unless you say "Eldar females look close enough to males that you can't really tell the difference". The vast majority of Eldar models are designed to be gender indeterminate.

The only obviously female HQ is Jain Zar, though there is a non-GW company selling a "female Farseer" model that looks more feminine than the average Farseer.

I don't think Eldar have any obviously female Troops, Heavy Support, or Fast Attack choices.

IIRC there are a couple female Harlequin models, and all Howling Banshees are female.

If you're going to play Sisters of Battle, I'd advise you to wait until the rerelease expected around the end of this year. That's what I'm doing - the current metals are way too expensive, only available directly from GW, and haven't been updated since 1997.

Yea. After reading more information I think I will save up my money and when the release occurs I will get what minis I want and the paints to paint them. I need to come up with a good color scheme. I was thinking about making them Red and Gold like in my fanfiction. I don't know A LOT about them but I put them in my story. =) So I think it is time I start adding them into my army. There is just so much to learn; it can be hectic. =(

Gathering the Informations.

You can make a Dark Eldar army consisting of all females.

You'll just have to trade some of the male torsos off for female ones.

If you lurk on ebay you can find some deals on sisters. I got about 24 for $30 by snipping lots from a guy who was unloading the army in lots seraphim on the other hand are hard to find deals on. Sisters are my 3rd army so I plan to wait for the new plastics to bulk out the army. But still ebay and trades can help lower the high prices as sisters are pricey as there all metal currently. GW has the dex for free on their site it just doesn't have the allie rules

I think you just countered yourself. They're not made to be gender indeterminate, as females have boob armour. There just aren't many female models.

If I were you then I would run a Dark Eldar Wych army: They're girls, they look awesome, and there is no risk of GW resculpting them until maybe 10-20 years!!.

Sisters of Battle are all female. Of the others, Dark Eldar would be the easiest to make into all females; mostly torso swapping and you're done. Wouldn't have to be just wyches either.

I suppose it could be attempted with regular Eldar but with so many units still metal... unnngh.

Some 3rd party companies make female heads and that would let you start up a female IG regiment although the bodies & legs wouldn't be decidedly feminine.

Yep, Dark Eldar Wych army could be all-female if you torso swap. Most of the heads are androgynous, so it would be fairly easy.

After the arguments I've had recently with marine fangits who can't get over how awesome their little plastic toys aren't, I'm feelin' like a bit of instigatin'.

I said 'vast majority', not 'all'. There are a few obviously male models, as well.

Boobs come in various sizes, which may be hidden underneath the mesh armor. Boobs are not binary. A lithe woman with a small bust wearing armor and a helmet isn't going to look much different than a lithe man wearing armor and a helmet.

Eldar are not Dark Eldar; they don't show off much skin.
