Subject: The 19th Legion Post Nova Interviews Dash of Pepper and Stelek
Here are the 19th Legion interviews of Dash of Pepper who was named Best Sportsman and Stelek from Yes the Truth Hurts form. Since Dash was not at the awards ceremony another winner was awarded in his place. Check out the video for the after match interviews!

Yeah. Like "I'll put a Marine on a Chaos Wolf so no matter what you can't see them to shoot them" effort.
Ah, the "borderline cheating/modeling to massive advantage/super long battlewagon" modeling.

Good for him.
I appreciate that we, the blessed denizens of t'interweb, are all fully paid up members of the handsome boy modelling club, forced to wear masks when we venture outside, lest the magnificence of our naked visages send women into some kind of Dionysian frenzy, but let's lay off the jokes about people's appearances please.
much obliged.

Does anyone else find it ironic that Blackmoor beat him with just 2 troops?

Blackmoor has only 2 Troops choices, but the Paladins can be combat squared and then he can use Grand Strategy to make 3 more units Scoring as well...so he does have a lot more than 2 scoring units (which was the point of Stelek's advice).

To play devil's advocate, we don't know how big an actual thunderwolf model should be. The only one modeled is Canis Wolfborn's mount, which is described in the fluff as being monstrous by thunderwolf standards. As long as it's wolf shaped and a space marine fits on it, I'd call it good.

Stelek doesn't ever try to claim blocked LOS to his TWC in any kind of close situation. Seriously ya'll are kinda just looking for some kind of flaw. If you don't like his style, ignore him ... sniping just makes you petty and childish.
Funny thing is, sure he opens himself up as a target by his online style, but the people taking shots at the target aren't excused from their own level of douchery by that fact.

I didn't have any issues in my game with him. My favorite game of the weekend? Nope, Targetawg gets that easily from our third game in the Invitational but not my worst game of the weekend. I'd actually be hard pressed to say I had a bad game this weekend honestly. Not one opponent stands out as someone I wouldn't play again.

More likely a freshly made alias to avoid taking responsibility and such.
I've met dash in person for brief seconds in the past, not cared for his style much online, and criticized him for it (though not rudely) both here and on his blog before for the way he responds to people on the internet. That's my qualifying statement for the fact that I've never been a "dash fan boy". Never hated him, just never cared for his style of responding to people/posting in the past.
After spending some time this weekend chatting with him in various situations and getting to know him, I don't find it surprising he won/was awarded best sportsman. He can rub people the wrong way in person I imagine if you're very uptight or the "don't crack a smile" type of gamer, but in general, he's a pretty entertaining fellow and a fun guy to hang out with.
And yea, Hulk and my's game was definitely one of the most fun ones I've ever played, and I'd love to play the rubber match now that we're 1-1 (he beat me in the main event!).
Over the course of 14 games, I had one game with a moderately grumpy (but not bad) opponent, one game I didn't care for but still wasn't terrible, and then 12 absolutely excellent ones, with a couple standing out as some of the best I've ever played. I'd say that's a pretty darn high bar for any event.

Andrew, it was nice to meet you. I hope we get a chance to game together in the future. You're half correct about me rubbing people the wrong way. It's not uptight or serious gamers that I rub the wrong way....in my semi-final game against Tony Kopack, he was 100% business, no smiles, no jokes - we went right to it and had a professional, pleasant game. He told me afterwards that he was completely surprised, because I was nothing like what he had heard.
There *is* a subset of people that I have little tolerance or patience for, and find it difficult to be civil with. I don't know a good name for that group, and don't want to make any generalizations that will get me another long vacation from Dakka - but I will say that they usually are ready to identify themselves for me, and loudly, which makes making distinctions pleasingly easy.
I *will* readily admit that my internet approach to serious business is no-nonsense.
I had a good time watching your game vs. Tony on the feed. Also read both yours and Hulk's reviews, mostly really good stuff there and it's awesome to hear a comprehensive breakdown of how the event went from folks who were there.
I will be next year! Although whether I've braved 40k again by then, or just stick to fantasy / warmachine, remains to be seen.

Dashbashers.
Anywho, good to see you back on DakkaDakka DoP. Sounds like the experiece was a mixed bag given where you stayed and the one player that really tested your nerves.
I finally just got to watch the interviews and the clip at the end showing the best sports-people . What determined who was the overall best sportsman out of the group with perfect sportsmanship? Best record?

Calling someone out for outlandish and rude behavior does not equate into outlandish and rude behavior---provided it's done in an objective manner.
For example, he's publicly attacked other people (Including the owner of this site) for their physical characteristics (Even diagnosed Jon with a mental condition IIRC). I only know him by his online persona--but given that he's deserving of the criticism leveled at him.
YMMV
