Welcome to Storm of Sorrow, a Warhammer 40k RPG!


On the Daemon World of Gistrec, furious Warp storms hammer the planet, sending down Daemonic Legions of dread Chaos. The Warp storms cause suspicion among many societies, ranging from the Ork Tribes, to the Imperium of Mankind. eventually discovering each other, each army fights a huge battle for survival on the battle-scarred planet of Gistrec.

How to join:

In “Storm of Sorrow”, you are able to be any unit in 40k you like. For example you could be an Ork Warboss:

Background: Hailing from the Bad Moons warband, Snotgrot is a huge menace, towering over his foes.

Please join using his format. You may have reinforcements, and have them come in time after time, rampaging across Gistrec. So, once we have enough players, I shall start the game. Happy Hunting!

Alright, we shall start! Here we go:

Ustres walked along the ash-strewn plains of Gistrec, followed by his Cult of Genestealer hybrids, and mutants. He spoke in an ancient, forgotten language.

<We set up camp here! Rip any trespassers apart!> Ustres yelled. He watched as his many mutants set up elaborate tents covered in symbols of Chaos, and covered in grisly relics. He smiled. Now, he thought, the hunt shall begin....

A deep rumble echoed through the tomb, metal hands burst from the ground, dark figures left their catacombs and the bright lights of their weapons and eyes shone and out of all of them their mighty lord his black cloak fluttering in the cold wind and the flayed ones around him ready to protect him.

Weapons: Power Sword, Bolt Pistol, Frag Grenades and Krak Grenades.
Background: Cyril is 10,000 year old Traitor Legionnaire, formerly a member of the 32nd Company of the Sons of Horus/Luna Wolves. He turned heretic along with the majority of the other Sons of Horus, believing that the Emperor was betraying the Astartes that spearheaded the Great Crusade by gradually handing over their power to bureaucrats. Now, thousands of years later, he has long forgotten why he turned against the Imperium and only continues to fight for vengeance. In place of his right arm he has two muscular tentacles which he uses to hold his power sword.

More prey

A Dreadclaw Drop Pod ripped through the atmosphere, engulfed in flames from the uncontrolled descent. Ten thrusters lit up and just barely managed to slow the Dreadclaw down before it slammed into the ground. It's titular claws stabbed into the dirt, creating a shock wave of grit and dust. From the Dreadclaw emerged ten Chaos Space Marines, their ancient armor adorned with the icons of the Black Legion. "Due to the Warpstorm, there is the possibility that our Brother Legionnaires will not be able to arrive," hissed their Sergeant, Cyril, his disturbing voice reminiscent of daggers dragging across flesh. "As such, set up a defensive perimeter immediately. Triphus, I want you to scout 1 klik north while Slevic scouts a klik south. Elpidius and Varin, I want you to cover west and east respectively. Now move! We have a planet to conquer." His men immediately set to work, motivated by fear more than anything else.

Ustres watched from a distance as the Chaos followers walked out of the Dreadclaw. He motioned for his "Men" to come forth, each dressed in ancient robes painted with horrific scenes of death. 5 Mutants carried large, spiked Rocket launchers, and stood beside Ustres. He spoke.

"There seems to be some Chaos followers. But what diety do they worship?" He asked, a forked toung emerging out of his mouth. (This cult worships Tzeentch, but will even betrray allies).

"Kill them all!" Ustres whispered. The mutants loaded up the Rocket Launchers, aimed carefully at the Chaos Space marines, and fired.

As soon as Triphus took his first step a rocket head slammed into his chest. The explosion shattered ceramite and scorched flesh, essentially obliterating the Legionnaire. Another two rockets hit the base, their explosions sending off waves of dust, but failed to wound the Marines. "We're under fire!" yelled Elpidius as he attempted to duck behind the Dreadclaw. An explosion from a fourth rocket blew his leg off and sent him flying into a rock wall; the impact slew him instantly. "Return fire!" ordered Cyril, unholstering his bolter and opening fire on the figures in the distance. One more final rocket flew into the group of Marines, its explosion badly denting the Dreadclaw. The eight remaining Traitor Legionnaires grabbed their weapons and fired as well, targeting the strange cultists.

Multiple shots flew out at the Cult, slaying three of the "Rocket mutants" Ustres pulled out a stolen Bolt Pistol, loaded with exploding ammunition. He fired, not caring where it hit, just that it did hit. Ustres motioned a clawed hand towards the Chaos marines. Ten Robed Genestealers with deep marking into their flesh roared, and rushed out at the Chaos Marines. (By the way, you can call in for reinforcements )

In the distance behind the lines of the fighting chaos space marine squad, a webway portal opened, allowing an arrow swift venom to speed out of it. as it neared the lines of the combatees, Zil'traech and his elite guard of 4 incubi leapt out, laying into the warriors as the venom zoomed into the distance, ready to come again for a quick escape.

(I didn't want to bring vechicles into the fighting yet )

The battles of those above echoed through the catacombs, All necrons looked up at their lord lifted his staff and in a bright green flash his troops and he tele-ported to the battle above. It was a battle between 2 chaos forces and a dark eldar force, the firing stopped to see the new foe that appeared the metal warriors took this advantage and opened fire, marching into hails of fire, Flayed ones marching into Close combat. The cult of chaos were the first to feel the cold steel of the flayed ones and their master shrieks of pain as they were cut down but as they retreated the necrons turned to the Dark eldar causing heavy damage but for some strange reason the Necron lord brought his troops back to their tomb to repair.

Losing 2 of his incubi, the archon turned to the chaos genestealer cultists, reducing many of them to shriveled up husks before leaping through the air, attempting to strike at their leader.
